I wandered in on Sunday morning with 2 friends and was immediately greeted by a very friendly staff member who organised a table for us. The incredible aroma of the coffee coupled our senses.
You should consider making a reservation at Sartoria. The quality of both the coffee and food along with the customer service was exceptional despite there appearing to be insufficient staff on hand to manage the on going stream of people arriving. Well worth a visit ... Sartoria will not disappoint!

Sartoria is a spacious café transformed from the former seamstress warehouse, as you can see from their décor e.g. sewing machines, dresses, mannequins etc.

Their menu has the largest range of vegetarian options!

For the drinks, we ordered the Prana Chai and the Matcha latte. Love a great hot drink early in the morning!

For food, we ordered:

THE SEAMSTRESS – Potato hash, poached eggs, pea puree, feta cheese, beetroot, Greek yogurt labne – this looked awesome with all the elements on the plate and the potato hash was very crunchy. However, I think this dish was a bit light in flavour but combining everything together made it better!

THE DESIGNER – Fried Banana roti, cookie crumble, fresh banana, strawberries, topped with maple mascarpone – This was very crunchy and when combined with the maple mascarpone, it tasted really nice with a few different textures going – soft and crunchy, cold and hot etc.

THE SARTORIALIST – Crunchy coconut granola, fresh banana, strawberries, mango raspberry chilled coconut water, vegan yogurt – My friend’s dish – he liked this and said it was very nice and finished the whole bowl. I had a bite and it was very refreshing, cold and wasn’t sour with the raspberry and strawberries. The granola was really nice too.

Thank you Sartoria for having us.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Brilliant! It’s been a couple of years since I was last here and very happy to be back.

The food was great, although the calamari was just okay, the prawn fritters were absolutely incredible! So delicious.

The service was exceptional and the venue was very cool, light and bright with outdoor seating too.

The prices are on the higher side for the area but they source locally and ethically (free range etc) so worth the extra couple of bucks in my eyes.

The brekkies all look amazing so looking forward to trying those, oh and they serve alcohol! Win win! Sunday funday all the way.

We were invited in to Sartoria today to try out the brunch menu in this fabulous converted warehouse space complete with old singer sewing machines still attached to some tables. This was a vibrant cafe humming with life with plenty of zones from the front courtyard to share tables to table bales for group.

We ordered off the all day menu which I liked because I got to eat lunch items at 10:30am and that always pleases. We ordered the breakfast burrito & beef burger and chips, ... again I just love the flexibility of an all day menu.

Our coffees where smooth and hot. I really liked the house blend here and found it quite a sweet extraction. Although my regular strength latte looked quite pale it actually packed good flavour. I loved my cloud apple juice too.

Kellirs breakfast burrito was a combo of scrambled egg, baked beans (house made), avo and tomato it packed a punch of heat and was an extremely generous portion.

My beef burger was juicy, full of flavour, encased in a light brioche bun and all things wonderful when it comes to burgers. Probably the best cafe burger I’ve had in a while. The chips were beer battered and the mayo/aioli on the side freaking delicious, I could have eaten this with a spoon!

We really enjoyed our visit to Sartoria today and loved the history on the walls and in the building itself. Great spot for a bite.

Sartoria is a very pretty cafe with a cool back story (it used to be a dress factory.) The history is maintained through the decor and menu items, of which I tried two: the omelette (self explanatory) and the seamstress (potato rosti with beetroot, pumpkin, feta and poached eggs, add avo). Both dishes were nice but the second was my favourite, as I'm a sucker for rosti. My soy flat white was very good and the service was great. Every person I spoke to was extremely attentive and friendly.

Ambience is important to diners these days and it can make or break a cafe. Sartoria has cleverly capitalised on its past as a dressmaking, bridal and evening wear business that thrived in the 70’s for two decades and transformed it to a highly successful cafe that is popular with locals and those coming from afar.
Warehouse in space and eclectic in style, this large open eatery continues to deliver on decor, style and most of all - great food and service.
On a lazy Saturday morning , my adult son Tiger and I were treated to a most divine brunch prepared by new chef and addition to Sartoria - Kelly.
We chose to sit at a large table that I would guess was a ‘cutting table’ for fabrics by the engravings in the top. To start was our usual of a latte and hot chocolate. The menu is extensive and but I always fall to my favourite - a Benedict breakfast. Tiger had the burrito pancakes.
After we had an iced chocolate and a green juice.
I cannot fail to mention the lovely Steve who was the epitome of a good host and generous with his time considering how bustling the place was at prime brunch time.
A note that Sartoria are taking on functions into the future with an upcoming wedding, a birthday celebration and corporate gigs. With the funky decor and unpretentiousness, I can see another successful business step forward in 2020.
Well done team Sartoria.
Notes: licensed, wheelchair accessible, disabled friendly, kid friendly, reasonable parking out the front.

Based in a former dressmaking factory, Sartoria delves into the family history to create a beautiful cafe that has a lot of heart. The large, urban space has dress making paraphernalia at every turn, showcasing it's past as a bridal and evening wear business. It has a lovely and cosy ambience despite it's size, and you certainly feel at home here.

The kitchen has recently been taken over by the former head chef of Monroe in Richmond, and I was so excited to hear that she has brought her signature banana roti dish to Sartoria. The rest of the menu is based around the use of fresh, seasonal produce; and the dishes are fantastic in colour and presentation.

We tried the Eggs Benny which came with a beetroot puree, potato rostis and perfect poached eggs. So delicious, with the creamy eggs being a great contrast to the crispy rosti and earthy beetroot.

The health bowl was a fantastic blend of black rice and fresh vegetables... avocado, edamame, roasted pumpkin, pickled cabbage and greens; all topped off with crispy noodles. The dressing on the side was tangy and added an extra layer of delicious flavours to this super bowl of freshness.

Finishing with the famous banana roti, it was everything that I remembered. An absolute delight, with the flaky pastry stuffed full of delicious banana, with fresh fruit, crumbled ginger biscuit and cream on the side. This dish is sublime and I'm so glad to see it back. It's definitely one of my all time favourites.

Coffee is fantastic, and the staff are warm and welcoming; encouraging you to enjoy yourself while relaxing over your meal. Sartoria is a fantastic venue that ticks all the boxes, but also has the added bonus of an ambience that makes you feel like you are visiting family.

I was keen to visit Sartoria as I've heard that this cafe has some great food and it's one of the most popular cafes in Melbourne.

So when I received an invitation to visit I was stoked. This cafe on Plenty Rd has plenty of street parking and a tram at the front door. Too easy.

This warehouse was an old dress makers factory so I liked the old sewing machines.

I started w a home made juice of passionfruit, orange and mango (although I may have made that up hahaha) but it was delicious.

My friend enjoy a cup of tea and I liked the sand timer... 3 mins steep time.

For brunch I ordered the Vegetarian Chilli Scrambled w fresh chilli, coriander, charred corn, fresh shallots and an amazing green nam jim which was spicy and refreshing!

The eggs eggs were tasty, perfectly cooked and fluffy. The chilli was mild but the green nam jim was a great addition.

Although the majority of dishes on the menu were vegetarian or vegan, I felt like a bit of bacon which was well cooked and once again, de'lish!

My friend ordered the aptly named dish called "The Seamstress" was which was a potato hash, runny poached eggs, pea purée, feta cheese fresh beetroot and Greek yoghurt labne. There was a vegan option, or you could add some bacon.

This was extremely well received, so much so it was polished off w some very positive feedback.

To finish I was very lucky to have a Bloody Mary which was spicy, w fresh tomato juice and a good hit of Tabasco. Woo hoo. Hahaha.

This cafe is a must visit!

We were invited to Sartoria today which was a really cool and unique space. Formerly occupied by a seamstress business in the 70’s to mid 90’s, the daughter of those dressmakers has now taken over the warehouse venue and turned it into a cute little eatery with elements of its history serving as decoration.

There’s been a change in chef and management as recently as this week and the menu is also getting a revamp. We were really impressed by the friendly nature of everyone we interacted with today as well as the themed menu. I had a special for my main which was a beef brisket rigatoni but also sampled some of my dining companions who had ‘the seamstress’ which we were told was one of their most popular dishes.

I can see why as the potato hash was delectable! I stuck with the specials theme and also tried the mint and coconut iced tea. I’m usually fairly regimented with my brunch order but I was inspired to try something different here. We finished with ‘the dressmaker’ which was a pancake dish and pretty as a picture. I loved the yummy coconut flakes on this.

Definitely recommend visiting this special cafe as the legacy lives on in the next generation

Satoria, a spacious cafe with a meaningful history behind its name.

My partner and I dropped in to Satoria for a late brunch. Satoria offers seating out front in their courtyard and plentiful of seating on the inside.

When you walk in, you can read Satoria’s back story written on the back wall. Along with the good music, this builds the atmosphere and gives you a feel of the cafe vibe. A must read when you come in.

For drinks, I got a strong latte and my partner ordered a hot chocolate. The drinks came out quickly and were ok.

I ordered a build your own with scrambled eggs, avocado and chorizo. My partner got the beef burger that came with chips and mayo dip.
Food came out promptly, was cooked well and had nice seasoning.

Overall, we enjoyed immersing ourselves in the history for one family at Satoria.

It was my second visit to Sartoria. Food was just as awesome as it was on my first visit. I tried The Omelette and trust me it was very filling and amazing. Confeit mushroom added the other dimension to the dish in conjunction with crispy kale and pesto sauce. With every bite there was a hint of truffle oil that was lifting the taste of the dish
Other dish we tried was The Carmela, It was good as well and trust me dont go with the portion on plate it was just so filling. Everything was perfectly cook, being a gnocchi you have to have it when its hot and loaded with yummy sauce. Because once it gets cold you will actually lose the bite and the taste.
Third dish we tried we Burrito .. this wasn’t that impressive but people who like subtle taste may like it. We find it missing some kick of sauce or sort of umami. Would recommend to try with some spicy sauce and instead of baked bean try with black bean. But i dont think they change the dishes. But i guess they should include some sort of kicking add on to the dish

Sartoria Melbourne is a fully licensed café which boasts a menu of innovative brunch and lunch dishes.

The name Sartoria is a nod to the eatery’s former life as J & C Agricola, a dressmaking, bridal and evening wear business that thrived from the 1970s through to the 1990s under the guidance of Joseph and Carmela Agricola. J & C Agricola may have been long gone but the former dress factory has now been converted to Sartoria thanks to owner – and Joseph and Carmela’s daughter – Adriana Agricola’s vision to combine two of her loves: food and fashion.

The eatery has a great vibe with plenty of natural light streaming through the windows alongside machinery and novelties straight from it’s dress factory days.

The menu has something to suit most. For the health fiends, the The Organza is a must. Think superfood salad with buckwheat, kale, edamame, carrots, beetroot, sweet potato and nuts, all brought together by a lemon dressing. For something heartier, we recommend The Carmela which is a beautiful plate of fluffy soft house made potato gnocchi with sage, buerre noisette, sweet potato and heady pecorino.

A great place to come for brunch in the South Preston area. Inside, the cafe has an spacious and industrial feel. The staff are prompt and pleasant and the service was generally quite good.

The Spindle (chilli scrambled eggs) was delicious, well seasoned and a good portion size. The Benedict was equally good and clearly made with fresh, quality produce.

Coffees were brewed well and all meals came promptly.

Overall, a great brunch place which I will happily return to in the future. One of the better choices in this area.

Was here last saturday (11/8) for brunch and so glad to find this awesome local cafe :) The coffee and food were a little overpriced, but worth it as they were not stingy with portion sizes at all. One of the waiters forgot to put in our order so we had to wait a little longer for our foods to come. However, I really appreciate that he was very honest kind and apologetic, and even told us that the coffees were on the house!

I absolutely love this cafe. It’s such a unique and fun fit out, obviously and purposefully matching the name. You’re surrounded by everything to do with tailoring and dressmaking - and the menu follows the same theme - it’s the best!
The food is also delicious making this place well worth a visit (and a courtyard at the front which is dog friendly).
So the food- we tried the beef burger which was big and juicy and the potato hash. Both really good.

A good, solid place to go for breakfast, Sartoria have a nice range of beautifully presented dishes. Good coffee too. The potato hash was delicious and very filling. My friend's smashed avo was good but she wasn't keen on the broccolini (might have been better with some crispy kale or broccoli for texture, rather than boiled?). I have been previously and had a black rice porridge dish which was also excellent. I'll be back to try another sweet dish next.

Been a regular next door many times and thought it's time to try something new.
Love the theme...

I walked in waited to be seated as requested no one noticed so I sat down at the communal table as I always do when solo.

Still no one noticed

After 10 mins I went to the barista and asked for a strong cap with their speciality blend Evolve.

Barista brought my coffee as he turned to leave I asked for a menu ??

Obv he should have asked me.

Then it all fell into place
Don't get me wrong I was more than happy to chill read the papers and watch the world go by
because I had the time 4 once.

Coffee perfect btw

I ordered the Haloumi with lime sounded interesting with poached eggs.
Could not have been better
Loved it

The appropriate service now was in full swing offered a second coffee
How could I say no

Apart from the initial stuff great job guys.

How good does that look btw..

And the cooked lime which I squeezed over the Haloumi...wow...awsum.

We were served and looked after quickly and repeatedly checked on during our time there without it being annoying or over the top. To me places like this are Melbourne. A cool old building that's been spruced up, but tips it's hat at the heritage of the place. We have been here a few times. The single O coffee is 5 stars. The standard coffee is also good but a little inconsistent. Service is always great in my book. The ambience is very cool, but if you go when it's empty you feel like you're being treated like a king. The menu has plenty to offer, however I find that it's all show and no go. The eggs benny was blah and also the sour dough toasty I had was dried out and ordinary. Don't get me wrong, the foods not bad or anywhere near it..... it's just not that great either. For me I can take it or leave it. Especially since it's nowhere on the cheap side. 7 bucks for a tiny bowl of chips is extortion in my book. The mini cinnamon scrolls on the other hand are dead set awesome when they come warmed up with a coffee and something you have to try!!

Cute seamstress themed cafe that has been a personal hit. Interiors are well kept to its history, and the chai and matcha latte were on point. The menu is a bit limited, and the eggs benedict was a bit oily and did not sit well personally. However, the other occasions prompted a much nicer outcome. Chilled vibes with good music, and you can hear the person you're talking to! Family friendly and good service. Winning!

This place was in my list from a while and I am so glad we had the chance to try it. We arrived early morning, so no issue with table booking. At the entrance the manager welcomed us and explained how to check-in and his menu suggestions for the day. We had a toddler with us and they provided with no issue a stool. Sartoria (“dressmaker’ shop” in Italian) is very well interior designed, with sewing machines from the 60ies and a couple of examples of Carmela Agricola’s work, the dressmaker. Besides the great breakfast we had, we were well impressed from the kindness of the manager and his staff. It worth the pay another visit just for the great atmosphere and, of course, the food.

What a great space. Warehouse converted into a spacious cafe with cool decor. There is plenty of seating inside and out. The service was very attentive and friendly including suggestions of local favourites. There is a great selection of breakfast and lunch options including some sweet delights. Highly recommend.

The sign at the door said to wait to be seated, so we waited. Three staff members glanced up from what they were doing at various times and seemed surprised to see us standing there. Eventually told to sit wherever we wanted outside. Food was nice. Service wasn't bad, but it wasn't amazing either. The inside looked great and I loved the sewing machines, dress dummies and other memorabilia all over the place.

The best cafe in Preston. An amazing warehouse cafe with delicious food, specialty coffee and friendly staff. I took my whole team for brunch at Sartoria. Everyone loved it. Some people had the Gippsland beef burgers some people had the super salad and the gnocchi. I had the pressed pork terrine with eggs on sourdough with hollandaise. So delicious! We were impressed to find such an amazing environment, specialty coffee and friendly staff in Preston. The new manager Steve really looked after us. We will be back!

Brilliant new cafes keep popping up around Preston and Sartoria is no exception. Sunny street facing courtyard with umbrellas that's friendly for dogs is a great place to sit when the weather is warm. The inside is also friendly and inviting with plenty of space, industrial sewing theme which is interesting. The service was great, fast and friendly. The food was tasty and interesting. Chilli scrambled eggs had a punch and when I ordered the bacon, eggs on a bagel I was expecting a half but got a whole bagel! Bonus. Toast was a bit overdone and sourdough is unforgivingly hard but it happens. Loved the coffee. Will be back.

Delicious brunch items full of flavour and presented beautifully. It is always a treat to eat here. The soy chai latte is made well with optional honey. The flavours have a good balance of spice. Don’t pass this place by! The cakes are also yummy and well made, with vegan options.

Great selection of delicious food. Staff are very friendly and attentive. They were also really accommodating to dietary requirements. They took the egg off my brother's pulled pork dish and made till there was no onions and garlic in my gluten-free and vegan miso bowl. Sat outside in the front courtyard which was really peaceful and enjoyable. Extra brownie points for offering to refill my tea pot with more hot water.
