I've been coming here for years mainly to drink the good coffee and have cheerful banter with the friendly staff. The food was always an issue being standard unspectacular cafe fare although generous and well made. I was away for two months and walked in for a coffee and was amazed to witness the changes. The menu was much more interesting and the decor pleasant. I had a breakfast avocado dish that was cafe hipster approved. The new staff were cool and of course Sam was her usual ebullient and friendly self. Well done John, the changes were worth it!

Go here for breakfast on a regular basis. Love the staff super friendly and they breakfast menu is fantastic. Even just going for a coffee and cake is a nice comfortable atmosphere. Very unique.
This cafe is as the name suggests in an old fire station. W a range of vegan options including pizzas and mixed spice lattes and vegan wraps this place looked fun.
I really liked the retro 60’s tables and chairs inside.
The service was friendly and happy. They have a pizza ovens and happy hour each Friday afternoon w $5 drinks.
My strong skinny latte was strong but scalding hot, why oh why! But fixed w some cold water from the fridge.
My sourdough toast w peanut butter was tasty and it came buttered. Yummo
The slices in the display window looked amazing, ana I am tempted to try a caramel slice .... I may have to sneak back at lunchtime haha

Very spacious and comfortable cafe, enjoy the coffee and ice coffees here. As far as the food is concerned I feel it is overpriced for what is delivered. Have their breakfasts, and felt food was cold.
Nothing special and in particular one wait staff rude and does a disservice to this place. The owner is a cool dude who is polite and likeable. With a few changes this can be a cafe that ticks all the boxes.
Give it a try because the atmosphere is a real plus and it is a place you can relax and enjoy your time there viewing the artwork on display.
I've been here twice and had a pleasant experience both times. Caught up with two friends for a cuppa on the Melbourne Cup public holiday, planted ourselves on the comfy sofa and really enjoyed our time here. It had a pleasant ambience and our order--latte, chai latte, lemongrass tea and carrot cake--was tasty and on target. The staff were friendly and helpful throughout our visit. And as its name suggests, this cafe is located in an old fire station so carries with it a bit of local history. Would recommend this place for coffee and a chin wag with friends.
Came here for a bit of lunch on a weekend. Didnt know what to expect so had no standards. It had a very mix time genre of furniture but it was interesting. Ordered the chicken parmi which was quite yummy and a large size for how much it was. Coffee was enjoyable.
On the coffee, Soy Latte alone ...
At $4.oo their Di Bella Soy Latte is well made and not too milky, still holds strong.
An awesome conversion of an old Fire Station, comes with plenty of those 70's Vinyl chairs and Chromed laminated top tables.
Vintage industrial lighting looks prominent over the bar/benchtop.
Pleasant ambiance, will try the Menu next time.
We were here on a very quiet weekday and it was just us when we arrived. The wait staff were extremely friendly and helpful although i wouldn't call them particularly attentive this day they may have just been setting things up, we grabbed our own water and menus and had a seat. About 20 minutes after the food had been delivered we did get a waitress come over with glasses and a water jug and she apologised for not bringing them sooner.
The food was delicious! I had the french brioche toast with bacon and banana and it was exactly what I had hoped for. Friends I was with had the scrambled tofu (apparently delicious but maybe too curried for breakfast) and the avo on toast which was described as being delicious as well.
Would definitely go back
A café that doubles up as a gallery featuring works from local artists. On this visit, artwork on the walls are from the students of Reservoir High School. Service was swift and staff were friendly. Coffee is good and cafe is large enough to find a quiet spot if you want to be away from the kids. Extensive menu avaliable with an all day breakfast menu included. #livelovefood

This place is so awesome! Staff are always friendly, especially the blonde lady that works there (always on coffees). They brighten up my morning. Foods great and reasonably priced. Especially the smash avocado!!!
Even though this place is trying very hard to be all hipster and pull the younger crowd I am delighted to say the food was delicious. I chose from the all day breakfast menu and had scrambled eggs and bacon on toast. They were the yolkiest scrambled eggs I've even seen, I'm sure adding the the luxurious flavour. The hot chocolate was also delicious, with a bit of "art" on the top. If I'm ever back over this way I'll be sure to visit.
