Celebrated my 40th in the fabulous courtyard out the back and it was the perfect spot to chill with friends and sip away on prosecco under the stars .
Raz and the crew made everyone feel welcome and looked after.
Can’t speak highly enough of this new little gem in Preston.
Their alternative take on the ol’ Negroni is worth the visit alone .

Had such enjoyable evening here. The female waiter with short, brown hair was so attentive and welcoming. The food was devine, as was the sparkling wine. Will definitely come back another time.
Great homely Italian cuisine in a lovely warm setting. Sonny’s Bottega has the best lasagne!!! I dreamt about that lasagne for weeks after my visit! The aperol spritz and the delux platter were delish aswell! The Sicilian olives are 👌 great service, led by the lovely jess! A must stop in Melbournes North!
My girlfriend and I went to this restaurant for our anniversary and the moment we walked, the dimmed lights, the white tiled table and the old classical Italian music set the perfect vibes for our dinner. We were very excited about the pumpkin gnocchi that we saw on their menu previously, but since their menu rotates weekly, we settled for the spinach gnocchi instead. We were both BLOWN AWAY by how well the dish was put together. It was the perfect amount of creamy-ness paired with the saltiness from the crispy speck. We ordered the meatballs as well and it is what I imagine a family owned recipe would taste like. Shame we couldn't use the beautiful courtyard because it was too cold, but we will definitely come back to use the courtyard, and hopefully on our anniversary next year.
Great service and great food and menu changes weekly with the use of fresh ingredients in season at the time. Old school Italian which is great ! The Prosecco Dance on a Friday night a highlight.

We moved to Reservoir one year ago, from Brunswick, and lamented the absence of places to eat and drink in our new neighbourhood. So when we heard SB was opening we were very excited. When it finally opened we were there on the first night for my birthday. I texted ahead to make a booking and arrived to a sweet little posy of garden flowers with a happy birthday tag attached on our table.
We were warmly welcomed by Raz, his sister and Dad, John, and handed a free glass of prosecco. We sat out the back on the deck in the lovely wrought iron furniture. It was a very busy night and we met others from the neighbourhood who were as pleased as us about the new bar.
The menu had 5-6 dishes based on what was fresh and seasonal. We had homemade gnocchi with a beautiful tomato sauce, a fennel and orange salad, a cheese and spinach frittata type dish and a focaccia. For dessert we had a divine strawberry tart. The wine was great and well priced.
Judging by the crowd and enthusiasm of everyone on the night SB has really hit the mark and has filled a real gap in Reservoir. Looking forward to many warm evenings on the deck.
What a wonderful little gem! The atmosphere at Sonny’s was so happy and fun, the drinks selection was great and the food was beautiful. We couldn’t decide what we loved most because it was all so good. Already planning our next date night with friends! 🥂
This place has the most amazing atmosphere it's like a little trip to Italy, every detail has been thought out, the food was delicious . The owners make you feel like family. On Friday's the drums will beat and the staff will start to sing and everyone will get a free Prosecco. I love this hidden gem !
Just fantastic. While the menu is small, there was something to please everyone at our table. The pasta and tiramisu were particularly impressive. The waitress was absolutely lovely. I'll definitely be back.
Had a wonderful dinner here with an old friend. Love that this is a Prosecco bar with loads of Prosecco by the glass. When it was time to order dessert we were recommended the home made tiramisu and we're not disappointed!
Delicious and authentic! Fantastic antipasti and carbonara and the BEST prosecco list around. The vibe was great. It was raining but I snuck a peak at the outdoor courtyard which was gorgeous. Every detail has been considered in this neighborhood gem!
Food is delicious. Admittedly the menu is small and probably a shock to those more accustomed to a menu with 40+ items on it (but imagine how long stock and produce would sit around to manage that!). But when everything is tasty and done with love... Who cares! When we dined with our little dude, they tried to accommodate him by offering smaller serves or minor changes. We are lucky that our toddler is relatively easy to feed and he inhald everything that they offered him. My only quibble is pricing, but we try to support independent small businesses when we can.
Sonny is the start of somewhat of a cultural revolution in this area. what was once a wasteland of culinary and otherworldly delights has now started to glow and part of that illumination can be credited to this fine establishment. eat here. drink here. get your girl pregnant here. be like Mike and just do it my friend.
What a great find up the 86 line. Went there for my birthday and it was the best dinner experience we have had for many years. The food was outstanding and the service perfect. This will be our 86 tram outing dinner spot from now on.
