Everything I've eaten here is consistent and done well. It has become a regular I've tried most things on the menu and the spicy wok is perfect for two people. Dumplings are tasty and the soup is good. I particularly like the potato pickles in the soup. Very yummy
The food is amazing. I’m a Sichuan girl and love my chilli. This place makes me feel like I am eating food from my hometown. I always order more so I can have some leftovers for the next day.
My Aussie hubby loves it too.
Def recommend this place. There’s a dish for every palette.
Delicious and authentic dumplings! I’ve tried many places though always come back to Miss Zhao’s because the dumplings never disappoint. Never tried noddle or soup dishes so can’t comment on those. They’ve recently added sauces and water to the table which makes the experience all the more pleasant!

Mum was the one that told me about this joint whilst we were discussing mala flavoured foods (type of chilli flavour mostly found at hotpot joints). We came on a Saturday for lunch and although it was quiet when we walked in, the restaurant filled up quickly. We ordered a spicy wok with vegetable, chitterlings and quail eggs as well as a serve of fried dumplings and xiao long bao. The xiao long bao was super juicy and the filling was fluffy. The dumplings were good but nothing spectacular. I really liked the spicy wok! I went for mild as it’s always better to play it safe than hero it and die later on. It was full of dry spices but the right amount of kick and not too oily. They have a wide selection of ingredients to choose from, each with prices next to them and you just have to meet a minimum of $15. They also do a soup base which I intend to try next time. I’ve read reviews regarding the service but the girls were all really sweet and accommodating. Lunch for three was only $33 including a drink. I highly recommend and will definitely be back.
Tried the boiled dumplings and soup dumplings 小龙包). They were all very tasty. No need to run into the city to satisfy your craving for dumplings. Looking forward to try the other dishes.

Always loved this place, although the spicy wok is very popular I usually order the noodle soups, like the slightly chewy texture of the noodles. Has the spicy lamb this time, not as good as the beef brisket and pork belly (a little oiler) but still very good.
Ordered the steamed cabbage and pork dumplings, xiao long bao and the chicken potato soup noodle.
The steamed dumplings were delicious and you could tell they were home/restaurant made . Xiao long baos were tasty and strong on the ginger - which I loved, they were also $7 for 6, what a bargain! The chicken potato noodle was nice but nothing great. Would definitely be back for more dumplings!
Always had this via ubereats. Peered through the window at the restaurant which looks clean and fine.... My go to for dumplings. Xiao long bao are yummy.
Visited this place last night with my wife. Fulfilled my needs for Dumplings! I can say this place have one of thr best dumplings in Preston! They are so busy! Will be back again.
Damn they good. Pork and chive dumplings taste homemade with that fresh taste from the chives and fatty pork mince. Prob best I’ve had in ages. Juicy pork buns are also excellent and the hot pot. I’ll be coming back. Yeeew

Their menu includes dumplings, spicy lamb, pork belly, braised beef brisket, fried rice, steam pork buns, and various noodle dishes.
There's parking available on the main road, and around the corner.
Hands down my favourite Shanghai dumpling restaurant! This place does some of the best Sheng Jian bao and pork dumplings I’ve tried in Melbourne - the filling is super juicy with so much soup, even until the next day!
They also sometimes have savoury and sweet mooncakes stocked in their freezer - I’d definitely recommend getting yourself some if they’re available! You can bake them in the oven at home and they are super delicious, with a flakey crispy shortbread style pastry.

A place for your chinese hotpot craving in the burbs. I had the soup one and it was good - it had all the flavours that it supposed to be but maybe just less umami. Well priced.
Love the pork dumplings! They are juicy and full of flavour. So delicious. I don't even need to add sauce. The fried rice is also very good. Not too salty or oily. Just nice.
I come here regularly, the spicy wok is yum, I have the dry version with fish usually, but I've tried them all and they are all delicious. I add fried slice rice cake and whatever else I'm feeling like. I share this with my partner (as it easily feeds 2) while my kids eat dumplings or fried rice.
The dumplings are yummy. And the kids love the fried rice.
A quick note menu has changed during pandemic, no set menu or soups anymore, you choose your own ingredients for spicy wok and dumplings are now back on the menu.
We ordered the Mao Cai Style with mushrooms and noodles. It's $16 but it's big enough for 2 people. The chilli broth is really tasty. It was spicy but really good and you can't stop eating it. So good 🤤 Service was quick too. Would recommend especially if you like spicy food 👌

This place has set the bar for dumpling restaurants for me. All the wait staff are so polite, which took me by surprise because service is normally neglected at cheap Chinese restaurants. Then the dumplings, oh my goodness! The casing wasn't too chewy, the meat didn't fall apart, just amazing. Definitely will be coming back.
