Ox is a master of the burger and the cherry pie. An amazing place for vegans and omnis both, Ox really strives to provide the best experience possible for everyone and their cravings. The Poutine is a must-have, and adding brisket or fried chicken elevates it to a new level.

The poutine and battered pickles were mad, the ber batter is really really nice The staff is exceptional, I really enjoyed the 30 seconds I had with them! I had better and worse burgers, slight lack of flavour and seasoning in my opinion.

Lovely staff, burgers and sides were priced fairly as the quality was excellent. Decor was nice and restaurant was clean. The only downside is that the place was slightly smokey, so you will come out smelling like fried food 😋

I think I found my new favourite burger shop.. the food and drinks here are spot on 10/10

We ordered a few meat burgers and a few of the vegan burgers, and all were incredible. Staff were super accommodating and kind. Vegan poutine was AMAZING, 10/10, 5 stars, even the stale leftovers of my vegan chicken burger are super tasty *chefs kiss*

One of the best Poutine I've ever had! Perfect gravy, thick and crispy chips. I had the vegetarian Kevin burger and it reminded me of a hearty, homemade burger. It's very busy and I'd recommend ordering ahead. A mammoth feed for a decent price.

Amazing proper burgers and awesome poutine for meateaters and vegans. Anything can be vegan and it's amazing to have a restaurant offer vegan food without assuming that has to mean health food.

Yup yup yup this place is amazing. 🌟🍔 I got the Chicken James burger and she got the Seitan James, and both were delicious. The Chipotle mayo on the burger was the perfect amount of kick for me, but I bit too spicy for her. We both agreed the onion rings were the best ones we have had anywhere, ever. Perfectly crispy and crunchy, great batter and well-seasoned. Great friendly service to top it all off, and very reasonably priced for the serving sizes compared to other similar joints elsewhere. 👌🍔

Been here a few times and it’s always delicious! Consistently perfect burgers. I haven’t had the poutine but it looks great too.

Best poutine in Melbourne hands down! 15/10 incredible burgers also! The best part is they can veganise everything. Wish I could score more than 5 stars <br/><br/>My girlfriend and I drive over 40 minutes to go here once a week and it is so so so so worth it!

I actually really like this place and have recommended it to many people but will definitely not be back and stop recommending it. We’ve been here many times and on the last few occasions have asked for our burgers to be well done only because my wife is now pregnant, which they normally do get cooked well. On this occasion they were probably more rare then how they are even normally meant to be served. I took them back and the manager (big guy) was quiet rude about it. Saying that’s how we normally cook it, even though on many other occasions when we have asked for them to be well done they are cooked fine. I definitely will not be back.

Had The Charlotte, onion rings and poutine fries, the music is nice here,<br/><br/>There isn't much seating, but there a piano bar next door, where you can order here and sit next door<br/>

Love the food here! Ox makes a mean feed!  I'm always a chicken fan when I eat here, with Mama Shack as my standard order.  And fries of course.  And deep fried pickles cos they're amazing!! Friendly staff and a great selection of hot sauce!!  Can't wait till my next visit to the Diner!

So so so good! Serving sizes are very generous and it’s ace to see a place where omnis and vegans can eat side-by-side and both leave with full bellies!

Some of the best vegan fried chicken + burgers I've had! And it's such a bonus when all menu items can be made vegan!!! We had the Kevin and the Charlotte, plus fries and the pickles! All servings are very generous and value for money! Would eat here every day if I could! Lovely helpful staff too! I definitely recommend eating here!

The best little diner in town, food is amazing, great selection of hot sauces. The best cherry pie in Melbourne. The team and service are incredible, they make you feel like a regular every time you go.

Came here hoping to try vegan chicken and waffles but unfortunately it wasn't available. Instead I had a "beef" burger made with seitan and topped with vegan cheese and a variety of condiments (plus an array of complimentary hot sauces). The burgers are a bit pricy considering they don't come with sides, but the taste is spot on. I also tried my friend's fried "chicken" burger (great but not as good as mine, in my opinion) and vegan Poutine (absolutely incredible). I mean, who can go wrong with loaded chips? The serve was huge and the toppings were generous. Only complaint is that the ambiance at the venue is lacking a bit, but maybe that will come with time as this is a pretty new venue. Otherwise, very happy to see a fully veganisable menu and excited for what these guys come up with moving forward!

I've been here a couple of times now (I love having so many vegan places close by).  I've had the Ox burger and the Kevin burger, both with the vegan 'beef' patty.  There have been some teething issues - I don't think they expected to be so busy after the Broadsheet review.  I'm prepared to ignore these issues and hope that they get better.<br/><br/>The burgers taste good, chips are tasty and have a wide range of different vegan options.

Killer place. Dexter down the road from This Borderland was my favourite in Preston but this place certainly gives them a run for their money. Huge servings and delicious food. Friendly staff and delicious cherry pie

This Borderland is THE best thing to come to the hood. I have 3 teenagers, 1 a vegetarian and we are constantly on the prowl for good burger places and obviously ones with vego options and Borderland has it all going on. We are slowly working our way through the menu. The chicken is deliciously moist, the meat patties amazing and love the potato buns. My son says they have chosen a quality tasty vego option. You have to try the deep fried pickles. The owners are outgoing, lovely welcoming people. Once you've been you'll keep going back.

Just rolled out of This Borderland with a very full and happy tummy. The beef burgers have fat, thick patties cooked to just pink on the inside. The meat is excellent quality. The James fried chicken burger is juicy, crispy and flavoursome. I added some BBQ chipotle sauce and it was amazing.<br/><br/>We ordered poutine, fried pickles and onion rings and all were really generous serves, well seasoned and moorish. Some of sides came out a fair bit after the burgers but the staff were apologetic and friendly about it. Make sure you are hungry when you go, big eaters will be satisfied.

Indeed this borderland is not just the check point Charlie between preston and reservoir but a metaphysical stargate a portal between the past and the present an avenue of enlightenment leading to an orgy of calorific ecstasy and a pearled entrance to an unexpected state of bliss . The food from this place is incredible. My favourites were the deep fried pickle and the poutine. The guys I was with had never had deep fried pickle and I genuinely think the deep fried pickle from here changed their world view. Thank you Preston for finally giving me a place for when I’m dying for good solid comfort food

LOVED IT!<br/><br/>Came on a Friday night and had the tastiest fried chicken of my life (and I have eaten a lot). Was surprised it was boneless but made it much easier to eat! slaw was super tangy and I loved the added green apple. <br/><br/>Excited to see the menu expand and the addition of brisket etc once the smoker is sorted out. keep up the great work people!
