This hidden gem is an authentic Greek restaurant. From the moment you enter the restaurant you feel the warmth and the hospitality. The cold water and the small cheese platter comes ahead till you are ready to order. The staff is professional and friendly. I had dinner 11 Dec 18 with a friend and we both could get enough of the fresh Mousaka and Klefriko (lamb in the oven] with baked lemon potatoes. The meat was melting in your mouth. This restaurant is something else Sydney needed. I will without a doubt will be happy to bring my Aussie Friends to taste the Real Greek Cusine. VERY SUITBLE FOR VEGANS. AMASING I'm coming back keep up the good work... and of course complementary dessert Mastiha liqueur with baklava and Galaktobureko.. is " the icing on the cake " Sydney you have to try it at least once. Perhaps background quality music (endehna) without the commercials would be more suitable 🇬🇷💙
Very welcoming hosts, beautiful food and great atmosphere with live music
I went and ate ate Loxandra last Saturday night. It’s a great little authentic Greek restaurant with very tasty dishes. We had the octopus, kleftiko and the Cypriot treasure. The dishes were amazing, particularly the Cypriot treasure. I would definitely recommend. They had live music which added to the atmosphere. The staff were very friendly and attentive. I really enjoyed this place, I will definitely be coming back. Thank you
We dined at Loxandra last Friday night (a group of 5). The servings were plentiful, and the food delicious. The loukoumades (my favourite) were divine - the best I've tried outside Greece. A must try! The restaurant was beautifully styled with thoughtfully chosen artifacts, and the service was fast and attentive. This was the best Greek food and hospitality we've experienced in Sydney. Highly recommended.
What beautiful little restaurant. Lovely decor creating a very warm homely feeling. Probably the best loukoumades we had ever tired. Just like mum used to make. Lovely wines and some were $20 cheaper per bottle than other similar restaurants closer to the city, The food was lovely and very filling. And to top it off was the Greek coffee at the end. The highlight was the wonderful music with a Cretan Lyra and Oudi player called Michael playing. He was just amazing. A real virtuoso. I highly recommend this restaurant if you want some authentic, tasty Greek food and sweets with live music on weekends that isnt too loud. Definitely will go again and this time bring more of my very discerning friends along.
We were greeted with the utmost hospitality from a lovely gentleman and welcomed warmly even though it was 3pm on a Sunday afternoon, the usual closing hour for most restaurants in the area. He directed us to a freshly cleaned table and proceeded out the back of the restaurant to re-emerge moments later with a carafe of cold water and a complementary plate consisting of fresh home made feta, rocket, pieces of ripe fresh tomatoes (I could still smell the vine), capers and olives along with our menus.
The meals to follow were scrumptious, you could taste the love that had gone into creating them, home style Greek food with the ambiance to suit.
One of those unexpected places that you are greatful to have stumbled upon.
I highly recommend this lovely little restaurant to anyone who enjoys good good and a friendly atmosphere.
I will be back with family and friends to enjoy the food again along with the live entertainment held on Friday and Saturday evenings.
Thank you for having us!!
