It's hard to say exactly what makes LoF the best place to go for coffee in Rhodes.
Apart from the obvious statement of the amazing coffee; rich, smooth, velvety with the perfect hang of bitterness in the end, there's an awful lot more going for the cafe than I first realised.
The Cafe it self is situated perfectly above the river, opposite The Connection, where you can relax and watch the world go by. Concrete and steel has never felt so homey before. Weekends are busy, but service still remains fast and efficient, without any drop in quality.
LoF hums with a sense of team work and professionalism that I rarely see in busy cafe's.
Sip your coffee or hork into one of the specials or regulars on the menu (I suggest the hotcakes or the steak sandwich). You'll find the staff is kind, friendly, energetic, and ready and willing to help you out at any point during your visit.
Both the coffee and food is consistently out of this world, and you always have the option of picking out something a little sweet from the counter (Honestly, the chocolate muffin. My goodness).
Look, in short, this place is great. I quickly felt like a regular; getting into banter with the owner every time I popped in, my order being in the know, and my partners assistance dog being a favourite (even on her off days!) when we come in.
If you're near by, try it out. If you're passing through, try it out. If you're looking for somewhere to adventure to, try it out!!
Pork burger was definitely too dry. Kimchi slaw gave it the lift it needed, but overall was a bit disappointing, presentation was below average, coffee and service was good. i would come for coffee if i am nearby, but def pass on the food.

The fried duck egg, asparagus and wild mushrooms was amazing! Gin & juniper cured salmon was perfectly done!

Quality was surprisingly excellent, at first i was skeptical as not many cafes don't do well outside the brunch suburbs like Surry Hills, Newtown and or Alexandria however left of field has lifted that cloud of doubt. The food was well presented, portion was just right and the service beyond expectation and very accomodating. The wait staff ensured dietary requirements were met and knew their menu well. Left of field has definitely matched what the brunch suburbs offer and better!
