Everything was fantastic, the portion sizes were just right. All staff members that we engaged with, were all very welcoming. There were six of us and we all thought everything was very tasty. We shared the Pino noir and the sparkling both wines were great. They also had a hands free, hand sanitising station.
Friendly staff and great indoor and outdoor setting. The wine tasting is varied and the staff are really knowledgeable about the wines. Great way to spend an afternoon.
A wonderful place to spend an afternoon. Brought the dog with us who was happy to chill under the table while we devoured cheese, dips, nuts and all sorts of goodies. The food is all tasty as you'd expect and the wine is also lovely. Tried the pinot noir and it was a good choice. Walked away with a bottle of wine and a smile.
Really fabulous winery, gorgeous scenery and decent wines. My favourite was the sparkling Shiraz! I had never had anything like it! Our wine lady was really friendly and knowledgeable and we had a delicious cheese platter too. Highly recommend a visit! Oh and there are ACTUAL PURPLE HENS roaming around!!!!
This is the third time we have visited this winery over a few years. We did the tasting again and settled on the pinot Gris and a cheese board to enjoy under the big tree outside. Was pretty busy a group of 4 finishing a tasting and another group of 4 tasting the same time as us. The lady was pleasant and remembered us from a previous visit. Cheese board has shrunk over time but was still super tasty. Shadows of blue was amazing and not overpowering like a lot of blue cheeses can be. Enjoyed our visit and will be back again 😀
The purple hen was cosy and very charming. The platters, made up of olives, cheese and mixed nuts were the perfect accompaniment to the wine.
It was my first visit to a winery and I am glad to have started with the Purple Hen. Located in a peaceful country side, this place not only offers a picturesque landscape, but some elegant wines.
There is an option to taste all the wines available, and if you, eventually, buy any of them, then the tasting fee is waived-off. We finally settled for a 2015 Shiraz.
As we all know, that the wines taste best with the cheese, so we had to take a cheese platter, to accompany our Shiraz, and we loved it.
The staff is warm and caters all your queries with a smile.

Take a seat and enjoy this gorgeous winery.
It's a lovely spot for a drink. Even better if you like their wines. Nice big lawn area, you can bring your kids and the dog. Don't come for the food, it is just a snack at best.

Helpful friendly staff who took the time to give us a tour of this beautiful winery. Plenty of great outdoor seating to take in the awesome views.
Loved the gift shop and cellar door too with a great range of gifts for everyone.., again helpful staff member made time for an interesting chat.

Popped into Purple Hen for an impromptu wine tasting and throughly enjoyed the wines we tried. Wished we’d booked for lunch... next time. Loved the purple hens running around the farm 🥰
Most amazing service today from the staff at Purple Hen winery today. Had a tasting and then received a lovely discount on our wine purchase. A very generous pate platter too. Well done to Purple hen. It felt very covid safe too.
Enjoyable award-winning local winery. Tasting is $5 per person that is refundable per bottle purchased. Local region cheese platters can be ordered and enjoyed inside, or in the peaceful outdoor areas. Local bottled beer also available. If it's busy, you may have to patient - it's a small winery.
