nice little spot for your coffee and brunch beautiful aesthetics inside with plenty of seating space! the coffee is quite good! conveniently situated near the tram making it perfect to grab a coffee and go! the croffle was absolutely delicious! would recommend! the chicken burger was a bit of a miss for me.. i didnt feel a good harmony with all the ingredients as some felt a bit out of place this place has really nice social vibes making it a great spot to catch up with mates! they even do a bottomless brunch!

I have lived near this place for around a year, never entered this one. The exterior looks like a coffee roasting place, didn't give any vibe of a place for a great meal and ambience. Boy oh boy I was wrong. This is a gem hidden in plain sight, the interior is so spacious and I was told they can seat 130 ppl, just wow. Staffs are friendly and the vibe is awesome.

Beautiful place, lovely staff and yummy food. Magic coffee was on point, croffle s’mores and wonderful ambience. We called to book but they weren’t busy so had a nice corner to ourselves (with 3 young kids). Definitely would come back for the bottomless brunch (1 main meal and free flow drinks).

I came across this place when I was walking in Richmond, and was drawn into the place as it was spacious and had a good vibe. I ordered the DIY Smashed avocado - Avocado, herbs, lime, toasted multigrain ($17).. and it's exactly how it's mentioned, you smash your own avo then have them with the bread! I loved the idea and just found it so refreshing! They have great coffee as well. Definitely coming back again for their bottomless brunch as it's everyday, and not just on weekends :)

Delightful Local Gem I dined here for my first time today and ordered the breakfast board with an iced chai; both were reasonably priced. The breakfast board’s standouts to me were the vine-ripened tomatoes and delicious hummus. The yoghurt on the side was a perfect sweet treat after the rest of the items. The iced chai was a spiced blend with the right amount of intensity. The overall experience was made very pleasant by the dutiful attention of the server/barista. He checked that everything was good and was very accommodating. All in all, I’m really impressed with this cafe and hope to visit again.

Do yourself a favor and visit this lovely shop. The service is unmatched. The staff truly cares about your experience. The food and coffee is absolutely amazing – everything we tasted melted in other mouths. Absolutely the best meal we had while. Highly recommend!

Great vibes & food. I got the soft shell crab roll and it was delicious! Would definitely recommend 😊

Have done a number of bottomless brunches and this was definitely up there! The food was tasty, it came out fast and they were happy to swap salmon with bacon for me. The bartender Milly was attentive and always noticed when we were ready for our next drink. Would definitely recommend!

My parents were visiting from WA last night and we thought we'd check this place out... Absolutely outstanding. The food was on point highly recommend the cape grim short rib and the zucchini doughnuts (I think that's what they were called). Brilliant wine and cocktail list. The service was perfect. Cannot rave about this place more. I'll be back many many times from now on. If I could rate a 6 out of 5 stars I would.

Thanks so much to Mitch & all the wonderful staff at Holla, the perfect venue for our daughters christening/1st birthday. No request was too much trouble, food was delicious and the place just looks amazing with a really nice vibe. We'll be back for brunch

We had breakfast at this new establishment this morning. The place has a great feel to it. We had the porridge which was to die for. Some toast made with the best bread and amazing jam was provided. The potato Rossi with smoked salmon was also amazing. Very friendly staff that made us feel welcome. We checked out the Dinner menu while we were there. It looks sensational and I can't wait to try it out.

The only place to brunch! Great atmosphere, coffee, food and staff. Excellent venue for a function too!

Had brunch here on Saturday. The food was awesome. I had potato rosti with salmon and poached eggs served on top and my friend had the Atlantic salmon with soba noodles. Not expensive. We were fortunate to sit at the bar and watch all the kitchen staff/chefs do their work. Definitely be going back.

Easily one of Melbourne’s best cafés. Food is top notch, service is ace, and the venue is super cool. Try the cocktails!

Great service, lovely food, perfect! Have had several meals there over the past 2 weeks and all have been excellent - lovely all day breakfast options, prawn tacos are amazing, lovely tea (not a coffee drinker!).

We were lucky enough to dine in Holla for brunch on the last day before Melbourne headed back into isolation again. Holla we’re operating on a reduced menu which you access via the yum QR code. Their all day breakfast menu had some seriously tempting dishes but interestingly not a single sweet brunch dish on offer (sweet is definitely out thing) so we both opted for a burger. My burger, the Holla beef burger came with a mountain of cheese and was a real classic with a patty cooked medium with pink in the centre. KD’s Korean fried chicken burger was a spicy affair with a asian slaw. We shared some pre isolation fries. <br/><br/>I ordered the berry smoothie and this was one pretty drink. Holla was doing everything right with social distancing and hopefully are doing a bumper take away trade in the coming weeks.<br/><br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Previous Review<br/>We were invited back to Holla to try the autumn/winter menu. Though it appears deceptively small it’s actually quite huge on the inside with plenty of greenery makes you feel like you are sitting outside in a garden, but a warm garden and not the horrid winter weather outside today.<br/><br/>The menu still had quite a few favourites from the last visit but we noticed quite a few swaps which we focused on today (see my previous review below which outlines some of the great dishes still on the menu from our last visit)<br/><br/>We ordered the house roasted coffees to start, long black came with a side of soda water to cleans the palate. <br/><br/>Today we started with the Quinoa, chia & pistachio milk porridge with coffee banana jam, poached figs, toasted almonds, it was simply delicious, a lovely soft quinoa texture was sensationally paired with the crunch of the toasted almonds and the sweetness of the pistachio milk and then when adding some coffee and banana jam to the mix, bam the flavours explode. <br/><br/>We also ordered the Holla hippie “burger”, which contained a herbed crumbed haloumi, pickled beets, rhubarb jam, mixed greens, kasundi relish on a brioche roll with a side of the divinely herbed & salted hand-cut chips and creamy aioli that wasnt to heavy on the garlic, just perfect for the brunch palate. The haloumi had crunch and the rhubarb jam was a sweet surprise. The beetroot added quite a strong pickle taste to this dish. <br/><br/>For dessert we shared the Croffle s’mores which was a croissant waffles w raspberry pistachio parfait, strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb and rose syrup. OMG OMG OMG how have I never had a croffle before, quite frankly the waffle croissants is my new favourite way to eat a croissant. The delicate strawberry and rose flavours of this dish was simply sublime and the varying textures of crunchy pistachio crumb to soft and fluffy parfait combined with the croissant pastry have sent my tastebuds to heaven. Definitely my dish of the day. <br/><br/>Service was yet again incredible and we really enjoyed our second visit. Thanks so much for having us.<br/><br/><br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Original Review Oct-17: omitting dishes no longer available<br/><br/>I’ve seen Holla as we whip through Richmond on our occasional drive into town. Always intrigued by somewhere new I was very happy to be invited to try their new spring/summer menu. It felt like a greenery with hanging ferns and creeping plants and an industrial high roof with opaque perspex roofing to filter in the sunshine. It was quite a long space, with smaller dining options at front and outside and caged areas to house larger groups. <br/><br/>Right away I knew we were in for a treat when I read the breakfast cocktail and boozy milkshakes menu. I ordered my first cocktail before 11 🍹I chose the Lychee Mojito with my favourite white liquor (Gin). This was strong and very very drinkable. The Nutella Frangelico boozey shake also tasted mighty fine. I suspect you would never know there was alcohol in there until you went to get up and go and your legs didn’t work. <br/><br/>Our table shared a variety of breakfast dishes, the standouts for me were the DIY smashed avocado and poached eggs breakfast. This came with a handy muddler to pulverise some of that pent up aggression on the poor avocado, feta and chilli combo. This dish was smashing good fun (pun intended). <br/><br/>There was a well portioned salmon salad, impressively tender lamb salad and a very clever play on Pork Benedict, in oozey burger style. This was visually impressive but I didn’t get to try it. Seriously seriously oozing 😋<br/><br/>I also tried the “Seoul Food” BBQ Pork tacos which was perhaps my least favourite dish. I found the pork quite dry unfortunately and the corn tortillas also a little dry (brittle). <br/><br/>Service was prompt and staff were very good at dealing with several large groups as well as a fully packed cafe. Would definitely come back on my own back as this cafe is up there with the best that Richmond dining has to offer.

Came here a few months back. The staff were friendly but we waited quite a while for our food to be served despite the restaurant being relatively quiet. I ordered the sautéed forest mushroom and although it tasted alright, the mushrooms were completely drenched in oil which made the overall dish incredibly greasy. I also tried the fritters and found them to be disappointingly plain and floury. However, my friend enjoyed the croffle smores and the Vietnamese iced coffee and iced lattes were also nice and refreshing!

I went to Holla with the family and the service was friendly and welcoming.<br/><br/>My iced latte was delicious, in fact it was one of the best I've had to date.<br/><br/>My scrambled eggs on sourdough toast was delicious. The eggs were fluffy, and creamy. The only criticism that I have is that the eggs were salty, and all afternoon I was really thirsty. <br/><br/>My partner was also really thirsty all afternoon too, so maybe their was too much salt in both dishes. <br/><br/>But overall this was a good visit.<br/><br/>Previous review June 2018<br/>My partner and I had brunch here on the weekend. I haven’t been here for some time so it was nice to be invited to go back and try their autumn/winter menu. <br/><br/>The service was really friendly and we were looked after by a lovely waitress. <br/><br/>For brunch I had the Cumin Roasted Cauliflower and Chickpea fritters which were as delicious as it sounds. The fritter were dense but full of flavour. The egg was poached perfectly, and although there was a lot of food I didn’t feel heavy afterwards.<br/><br/>My coffee was good and I ordered a vegetarian matcha green smoothie which was full of flavour and actually made me feel good! Haha or maybe that was wishful thinking? <br/><br/>My partner had the puréed peas w snow peas, yes we were on a green theme and we were both equally impressed with this dish. Everything was so fresh and tasty. <br/><br/>This was such a treat, and I’m looking forward to visiting this cafe again shortly. Yummo!

Food: 3 stars<br/>Service: 2 stars<br/><br/>Came here for a Bottomless brunch on Saturday 14th December for 13 people and was incredibly disappointed by the poor service. <br/><br/>From the initial point of contact with one of the waiters who greeted us very rudely, to the staff providing us false information on the bottomless brunch menu, I knew I had made a mistake by choosing this place. It was clear that the staff did not communicate with one another, kept doubling up on our side dishes and had conflicting opinions about the bottomless brunch rules. They were unhelpful and would constantly avoid our table which made it difficult for me to ensure my guests are well fed and their drinks are topped up. I understand that there were other tables to be attended to but a table of 13 requires constant service. <br/><br/>I communicated my concerns and worries at the very end to a lady at the counter and she did not care at all. I would not recommended this place for a bottomless brunch (especially if you have more than 6 people). <br/><br/>The food served was also very average when compared to other places (especially their smashed avo). There are other bottomless brunch places that do a much better job, I regret giving this one a go.

Came here for bottomless brunch on Sunday with my family. For $59 the brunch is a bargain! Includes 2 hours of cocktails & a meal. I enjoyed the Holla hippie burger (hello haloumi!) which was delish. My family all commented that their food was great - a fan favourite was the avo on toast!

Would 100% recommend a visit to Holla! Firstly, the interior design is stunning and quite creative. It's definitely instagrammable.  I found the staff to be very friendly and accomodating. <br/><br/>I ordered the Tumeric Latte to start which was full of flavour and a beautiful golden colour. I had the Sweet Potato & Cashew Fritters for brunch which were absolutely delicious. The fritters were so tasty and fluffy on the inside, yet super crunchy and fried on the outside. The puree, almond dukkah and pesto all worked together well with the poached eggs and fritters. <br/><br/>I couldn't get enough of this dish, and it left me full for hours! Will definitely be back to have it again and I do have my eyes on the Croffle S'mores also. <br/><br/>Thanks Holla!
Steph
Went to Holla for the bottomless brunch, the rules were clear, food was good and we enjoyed the decor. We were seated right at the back with a loud coffee grinder / roasting machine on for over an hour of our booking making it hard to talk to each other. One of the water glasses set at the table upon arrival had a lipstick stain on it and we were served a Prosecco with a lipstick stain on the glass. It seemed like the Prosecco glass wasn’t changed when we sent it back, rather tried to be cleaned and given back to us still with lip marks on the glass. Mimosas were originally served with a cute pulp detail on top and towards the end this detail suddenly stop. We still enjoyed ourselves but clean your glasses properly!!

I am a sucker for a restaurant flooded with flora and this place was exactly that. A jungle surrounds you the moment you step through the door.<br/><br/>The menu was unique (which is becoming increasingly challenging in Melbourne) and the coffee was top-drawer.<br/><br/>I'd happily recommend as well as bring friends here.<br/> <br/><br/>Didn't get the fries so tater review update will have to wait until next visit

Came here for brunch and was greeting with lovely staff! The interior of the place is also so inviting and lovely!<br/>The staff were super accomodating as we requested a table swap which we were granted with with no worries! The menu is super creative and features some very interesting and new dishes including the croffle smores which we ordered and the truffle mushrooms as well! The dishes that we ordered were absolutely delicious! would definitely come back!

I visited this Richmond cafe for the first time last week and was not disappointed. <br/><br/>The service was impeccable with staff knowledgeable about dietary and all aspects of the menu. <br/><br/>I tried the Croffle S’mores: Croissant waffles w/ raspberry pistachio parfait, <br/>strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb & rose syrup (V) 21.5. The Croffle was light and crunchy in texture that worked harmoniously with the berries and pistachios. The dish was well balanced and all flavors worked well together to create a stellar dish. <br/><br/>For truffle lovers, the Truffle Roasted Mushrooms is a must-try. This dish includes whipped ricotta, shaved walnuts, crispy fried enokis, poached eggs on multigrain (V, GFA) 21.5. <br/><br/>This cafe also hosts Bottomless Brunch and function packages. <br/><br/>If you're feeling hungry and close to Victoria Street Richmond head over to HOLLA FOOD & DRINK for a delectable feast.

We had such a great time here on the weekend! A group of 20 of us came for bottomless brunch and it was amazing. Food was delicious, the waiters were really friendly and accommodating and the drinks were delicious. Definitely worth the $59, highly recommend! Been to a couple of bottomless brunches and holla is by far the best!

Lush greenery creates a great atmosphere. Thai chicken burger was delicious, chicken was juicy and slaw balanced out the dish. Holla piggy comes together well with the combination of flavours

I brought a group of friends for the bottomless brunch for my birthday and we all had the best time.<br/>I’d eaten here before so I knew the food was great, the staff friendly and that the space was beautiful but I went out on a limb for the bottomless brunch package. <br/>This is the only bottomless brunch I’ve attended where the bar staff make proper, quality drinks and cocktails as part of the package. You’re able to order from the full menu too, rather than a specific package menu. These two things are what sets Holla apart from other bottomless brunches, in my opinion. <br/>Since it’s only a 2 hour window, we all wanted to get our money’s worth and to be honest I was concerned that the staff would stifle our drink ordering but that wasn’t the case at all. They were strict on being double parked but that’s fair enough and we respected their RSA. Good times had and money well spent.<br/>Would brunch and booze again.

The staff was really nice and the ambience was great. The only downside was the food. DIY avocados were bland. My partner ordered the holla piggy which turned out to be a really small portion and the croquettes were dry. However we ended the brunch on a good note as the coffee was delicious.

Came here for a bottomless brunch on Saturday for my birthday. Everyone loved the venue,  the food and drinks were served quickly and everything was 10/10! Definitely coming back :D

What an experience. Food was absolutely delicious, I had the lamb sandwich and it was so tasty, fresh and filling. My girlfriends and I were there for one of their birthdays doing the bottomless brunch and we definitely got our money’s worth, the service was so quick and staff were very helpful. Thank you Holla, I’ll be telling all my friends and family to come and experience your amazing food and overall fun vibe of your restaurant!
Hollow Legs
Lovely decor, friendly staff, good reviews but the food I experienced was a little disappointing. Bought a takeaway muffin and matcha latte, so was already far from the cafe when I discovered the disappointment. My matcha latte was burnt and for some reason the bottom and sides of the muffin was chewy. They do have a bottomless brunch offer which I am keen to try next time. Hopefully that will change my opinion of this place thus far.
Clare
The venue itself is long and narrow but well designed so as to not feel too enclosed. The use of indoor plants was especially nice. We were quickly seated, drinks orders taken and delivered, but unfortunately when they came back, we’d not decided what we wanted yet and so asked for 5mins more. We were seated up the back behind a built in seating area which had diners enjoying the bottomless brunch and meant our host 1. couldn’t see us easily, and 2. didn’t get back to us for another 15mins when we finally managed to flag them down. Our order was then obviously stuck behind a large group and further delayed. Then for some reason, one of our dishes didn’t come out at the same time as the rest. My dish was the Truffle Roasted Mushrooms and while the description was promising, it had a rather flat, one dimensional flavour that became too overpowering as the dish was eaten. They did give us our drinks for free in acknowledgement of the delays, but it was still rather expensive and not my most enjoyable experience.

At first it seemed like there was a lot of hype with this place but the menu caught my eye. Lots of interesting stuff so decided to give it a go! Not too bad, wait for the food was quite long but we went on a public holiday so can’t quite complain there. Managed to book a table. Although one of our order (not pictured) of the fritters was missing the eggs, fritter was too over fried unfortunately. <br/>I personally had the Tokyo Rose and the salmon was amazing, the noodles were not bad, refreshing but I felt like the sauce could have a bit more ‘magic’ or taste shall I say. Coffee was good though, and the boys liked their burgers. Don’t be scared by the amount of red chillis, they weren’t too hot and complimented the burger well.
Karina J
Great coffee to begin. The DIY smashed avo, although slightly pretentious, was a lot of fun and brought out my inner child! There was copious sprigs of coriander and slices of chilli were delicious. The burger was great and the hand cut chips were delectable.

The staff were lovely and extremely efficient. The food came out quickly, was presented beautifully, and tasted delicious. Would definitely recommend ;)

I visited Holla twice. It is definitely one of my Richmond favorite place for brunch!!😍😚 The cafe doesn’t look big from the outside but is very long inside with cool interior and plants! The atmosphere and staffs was incredible ! Tokyo Ross is my favorite dishes, the lamb salad is pretty good and healthy as well! Love this place! Highly recommended 💖

I visited Holla on a very hot summer day and the first thing that caught my attention was the terrific good vibes that this place exhales.<br/><br/>Great music, great atmosphere, and the good vibes were definitely contagious and would put everyone in a positive mood.<br/><br/>However the food did not live to the amazing looking jungle and it was definitely the downside of my experience. <br/><br/>As a foodie I was disappointed with the size of the granola with such a small portion and almost close to no icecream. The smoothie I had, no matter how instagramable and aesthetic the glass was, the taste was watery and had big non blended chunks inside. Yes, I’m sure that if you see the pictures you would be also keen to try it but we all know that sometimes looks mean nothing it terms of taste and here even the berries floating on the smoothie were soft and non-sweet with a mushy non-pleasant taste. A true disappointment.<br/><br/>I had such expectations for this place and I have to say that they seem to have a great team regardless of my experience and that service is good, but honestly was massively disappointed and dissatisfied with the meal. I reported this to their social media over a DM and I hope that they took my suggestions as constructive and something to work on because the venue is definitely gorgeous and no one should feel like Tarzan/Jane lost in the jungle!<br/>

Ohhh Hollaaaaa! One of my Richmond favourites mainly for its cool interior! The cafe is a very long building with plants and other cool decor items.<br/><br/>I like the range of drinks on offer here. They have soft drinks, hot drinks and alcoholic drinks. For all those brunching occasions! <br/><br/>They have two menus one breakfast and one lunch. The breakfast does still run throughout the day and the lunch one kicks in around 11:30. I always like it when cafes do that just incase if you don’t want eggs with your dishes. <br/><br/>The menu is really great with a lot of options.<br/><br/>I opted for my classic eggs on toast, with greens, mushrooms and chicken! I love it when places have chicken as a side. I do like my meat. <br/><br/>My friend had the lamb salad which was a very well portioned dish. The bowl was almost over flowing!! <br/><br/>It was a great Sunday brunch. <br/>Love it 8.5/10

We've only been to Holla twice but have absolutely loved every it time. The atmosphere is lively, decoration vibrant, a fast paced cafe with something always going on and yet the staff managed to be so calm and professional. The food was amazing, a genius blend between Asian and Western approaches. We would definitely be back for bottomless brunch and bring with us few more people to wow.

Gets a big thumbs up for innovative menus... Amazing ambience... Food is great... Many options to sit or even have working meals. Must visit place
The.Top.Lifestylee
The atmosphere and decor was incredible. The bottomless brunch was lovely but would have liked all the drinks on the menu to be included as the best ones were excluded. Also some of the menu options seemed pricey for what you received. The burger was quite small and it cost an extra $5 for chips on the side making it a $21 meal that wasn’t that filling. The snore waffle were delicious although the chunks of frozen fruit ruined the texture. Overall it was a lovely meal just pricey for what you received.
Ignatia
Their DIY smashed avocado is so fun to eat. I usually avoid ordering smashed avo for brunch, but if the cafe put creativity into it, I wouldn’t mind having smashed avo. This one is my favourite yet. Not to mention, they have bulletproof coffee that I’m interested in but still skeptical to actually try it.. but I’ll def try it someday!
Tasting Notes Melbourne
The interior here is really something special with an emphassis on indoor plant varieties, the small kitchen offers a simple brunch menu and the staff are very friendly with plenty of smiles coming feom the kitchen and servers alike. On the two visits i have ordered the beef burger which was less the american style you see aroubd everywhere these days and very tasty with handcut chips. The second visit i had a breakfast burger (clearly i like burgers). This was ok but i didn't quite understand the cheerios coming out of it. We have also been here for a function where the food came out in great intervals and was mostly tasty albeit some of the dishes with minced meat in them that were a little dry.
CasualFoodie
Satisfyingly good.<br/>Loved 2/3 dishes we ordered - crab crumpets & lamb sandwich. DIY avo was like any other, so nothing to rave about, but not disappointing either. Definitely will be heading back.
Marta Montero Lomas
One of the best cafes I have ever been in Melbourne.<br/>Staff is super friendly, food is amazing and the place is cosy and lovely.<br/>Can't wait to go back!

For months I’ve been looking at photos on Zomato & Instagram of the Croffle S’mores at Holla. <br/>Today I finally went in to try them and I was not disappointed. They were amazing. I love croissants and I love waffles so having a blend of both was great. The raspberry pistachio parfait was beautiful, and when it started to melt it had a mousse type consistency. The rose syrup and pistachio crumb is also a nice touch. This is a great dish if you want something on the sweater side, without the risk of feeling like you got a sweetness overload.<br/><br/>Service at Holla was good and my meal came out fairly quickly. Every waiter I spoke to was friendly and had a bright smile on their face. <br/>I’m looking forward to returning again!
Jenny Ding
Over-priced and service on the slower side.<br/>Pork Benny was nice enough but not enough pork. Eggs and sauce were great though. We ordered a side of bacon as well which was very small as well for $5.<br/>Granola was decent.<br/>We went on a Sunday and there was a 10% fee additional which is unusual. You’d think if the 10% is to compensate for staff wages on Sundays there would be faster service.<br/>
Tina Le
We did have a great time here. Came a bit late when the shop was 1 hour left till the closing time. I think that is the reason why the staff was a bit unwelcome .But they still served us amazing food. We tried a Crab crumpled and croffle smore. They have done a very good job in creating such a fastinating food. There were so many flavors that I experienced in one time. The dessert came after then was wonderful too. The combination of sweet and sour was so perfect that we didn’t miss a bite. A smoothie was also a great experience :)
Annie Lu
The crab crumpet is tasty, must try item. Mine is Sichuan beef brisket, it is just so so. They have group tables at the back which you can book. Try their "signature" drink instead of coffee :)

Been to Holla a few times and always receive good service from friendly staff. Food is always good and coffee is great too! would definitely recommend!

Absolutely loved this space - the lushious greenery enclosed cage is simply invitinv and fresh. If you care about how your coffee is made and how it tastes, this cafe is for you. The place is very neat and clean. The menu has typical modern style with a twist. Cumin roasted cauliflower and chickpea fritters is a must try its really yum!!!!!! service wasnt that great but overall 5 stars on my book
Melbfoodie
High expectations but not met. We ordered Tokyo rose and the chickpea and cauliflower fritters plus a matcha latte and a soy latte. Matcha latte was too bitter but coffee was good. Tokyo rose was bland- too many noodles, salmon pieces too big and would have been better if smaller or thinner cut. Not much taste either. My friend left half of it and nothing said and plate removed. Fritters were ok- not that interesting and eggs not cooked as requested so had to wait for new ones. Service quite slow and pricey for what was offered.
Jenna Brooke
Beautiful cafe with friendly staff🙂 Sat outside in the sunshine, enjoyed a skinny cap (delish) and the breaky dish with mushrooms - YUM! Will definitely be coming back👏🏻

Don't bother with this place. Just took myself down there for breakfast and it was such an underwhelming experience. Ordered toast and bacon and a coffee. Toast came slathered in butter. I dont mind butter but in small doses (intolerance issue). Im also an adult, I can do my own condiments. Wait staff chucked my place in front of me and then never returned (too busy drinking coffee and dancing). So complained about the butter issue when paying the bill and the guy tried to be sympathetic but his "Well, the boss would say you should have told us" didn't go down well. So that's three pieces of toast and my money wasted.
Tania
Nice place, bustling atmosphere and friendly staff.<br/>Food was quite flavoursome. Soft shell was quite nice, can never go wrong. The pork in the korean tacos were slightly on the dry side though

4.0<br/>I was invited to try out this Australian cafe. Fresh aired plants hang from the ceiling and the tables are nicely laid out in a row.<br/><br/>The calmer sutra chai latte was aromatic, smoothe and flavoursome.<br/><br/>The autumn/winter menu.<br/><br/>We ordered the croffle s'mores. Crossaint waffles are well crafted with the raspberry pistacio parfait contrasting well with the strawberry curd contrast whilst rhe rose syrup added sweetness .<br/><br/>The pork benny was juicy with the toasted brioche bun. The sweet beerios which were cheerios drenched in beer balanced well well with the slightly salty and tender bourbon brined pork collar. The bacon crumbs added texture and the poached egg sat nicely in the burger.

Holla was fantastic! Excellent service - fast, friendly and fun. The food was beautiful and good portion sizes. Boozy brunch was fab - good drink service!

I love this place! However, it was very very busy on Saturday afternoon that we had to wait for about 45 minutes for a table. Next time I will make sure to book in advance to avoid queue.

I received an invitation to Holla to try their Autumn/Winter menu which was hard to say no to given the amount of hype given. We rocked up early and were met with a long bar/kitchen and hanging greenery all the way down.<br/><br/>Started off with a strong latte, coffee roasted in house. Bold and bitter this will get me going throughout the day. I tried not to pay too much attention as to who was ordering what on social media, I was here after all to provide feedback good or bad. The food all arrived to our table at the same time and it started getting quite busy front of house (which is where we sat near).<br/><br/>The Tokyo Rose was my choice, sous-vide miso salmon with green tea soba noodles. Salmon was nicely cooked encrusted with sesame seeds. It was a refreshing dish but the texture of the soba noodles required some more bite to them and I couldn't taste the green tea which was overshadowed by the wasabi yuzu dressing, too sweet and sour I had to swap plates with my friend as it became too overwhelming.<br/><br/>The other dish however I did enjoy, pureed peas and poached eggs over sourdough. A very bright and healthy brunch dish, eggs cooked perfectly and the sprinkle of smoked almond dukkah made it very moreish. I winded down with one of their smoothies, their berry & acai smoothie was large and overflowing, beautifully decored and tasted as good as it looked.<br/><br/>I can see why people gave it high marks as the caliber is definitely there but once you stray into unknown territory that's where you may leave disappointed. The kitchen is huge and I believe you can actually have a meal and drink at the counter, that's my type of atmosphere! Special thank you to Holla for the invite.

Love the menu at Holla - there are Asian inspired dishes, like their own take on a Chinese scallion pancake, and a Vietnamese banh mi.<br/><br/>The Szechuan Scallion has a crispy scallion pancake base, loaded with greens, tender beef brisket and a fried egg to bring it all together. It's a unique dish but still feels very brunchy - love it!<br/><br/>I couldn't try the Saigon scrambled eggs but I'm definitely coming back for it. Instead of your typical chilli scrambled eggs, they've made it similar to a banh mi, including pate! <br/><br/>The Roasted Wild Mushrooms was a very comforting dish - succulent and delicious mushrooms with a hint of that pungent truffle aroma. Perfectly salted and mopped up with oozy poached eggs.<br/><br/>Also had the Bulletproof Shake, which was also delicious and filling - a bit of nuttiness, slightly sweet, you get the cocao and espresso coming through, it's a really good shake!<br/><br/>The cafe was airy, spacious, and had a warming atmosphere thanks to the indoor plants. <br/><br/>I can see why they've been busy for the last 2 years, and even at 3PM, people were queuing up for a cheeky afternoon drink.<br/><br/>Good vibes, good food, Holla is a winner and a standout in this section of Richmond!

3.5 ⭐️ <br/><br/>I was lucky enough to be invited to Holla to try out their autumn/ winter menu. We got there super early so it was quiet and got parking right outside. The kiddies got their menus that came with colouring pencils. Kids menu are all $6.5 each and you can choose toasties, eggs on toast, porridge etc. <br/><br/>I have done my research and decided on what to eat before we came here. Looking at Instagram, everyone seemed to order the cruffin s’mores and the soft shell crab crumpets, and not wanting to stray from the winning formula, I order those as well. 🤣<br/><br/>I usually love soft shell crab but this time I found soft shell crab really salty and a bit too fishy for my liking. I quite like the kasudi tomato chutney with the avocado and poached egg though, that was quite creative. By all accounts other bloggers and instagrammers didn’t seem to have that problem so I am not sure whether it’s just our dish or not.<br/><br/>The cruffin s’mores waffles were yummy, with raspberry pistachio parfait, strawberry curd and rose syrup. I wasn’t sure about the rose syrup because I never like rose flavouted stuff so we got it on the side. I braved it and dipped a little bit to taste and the rose syrup actually really complements the dish! I don’t know whether I would want the syrup all over my dish but it’s definitely good in small quantities. <br/><br/>The kiddies breakfasts of ham and cheese toasties and scrambled eggs were relatively well received by the kiddies, although they were more interested in our sides of avocados and kale.<br/><br/>I think the other thing that would put me off here if I was a regular paying diner is that they do have a surcharge for weekends and public holiday. It’s written everywhere so there is no confusion, but I do like knowing exactly what I have to pay so I would prefer if they have a weekend /public holiday menu and a weekday menu with different prices.<br/><br/>**Piggy and partner dined as a guest of Holla and kiddies paid for their own meals (well, their parents did anyway!)**

Holla! Got your attention now haven’t I? Well Holla Coffee Roasters also got my attention and located on the quiet end of the Victoria Street in Richmond. There’s parking in the back streets so don’t worry if you drive in. Walking inside, you can feel the buzz of the cafe and you’ll notice that heaps of customers come in and get take away coffees. The staff were super friendly and the space was sleek with plenty of greenery.

Lovely environment as can bee seen in the pictures. Customer service is great as well. I often drive pass this place during peak hour and see it gets super busy, rightly so. Most of the food on the menu is Vietnamese-inspired...I also like the fact that it offers Vietnamese coffee ☕️

After staying the night at The Quest in Richmond, hubby and I ventured around for a place to have breakfast. Found this gem. Beautiful cafe. Great brekkie. Great coffee. Really friendly service. Love it :)

Holla at Holla! Holla has made it on my list as one of the best cafes in melbourne! The location is great and venue and styling is perfect. The plants really make it a nice atmosphere. The menu is just great heaps of options to choose from all quirky and out there different. From what I ordered I thought the flavour combinations were perfect along with presentation. Great coffee! Generous portion size left me pretty damn full! Staff were lovely, knowledgeable and accommodating! I'll definitely be back to try some more dishes very soon.

We were lucky to be invited to Holla in Richmond. This cafe has a great vibe especially during the boozy brunch hours (after 1pm). Unfortunately we did not join in the boozy brunch session but it sure looked fun! The cafe is small but organised, unfortunately the service lacked possibly because it was busy on a sunday afternoon. The atmosphere is great with hanging plants and small booths its a great place for even a group of friends.<br/><br/>What we had:<br/><br/>Holla Burger: A burger loaded with onion rings, bacon, baconaise, cheese and not to forget the kick of Chilli! The burger is fairly small so don't forget to order the side of chips! <br/><br/>Seoul Food (Tacos): 3 small tacos topped with kimchi and korean bbq pork. This is a great light option for brunch. It has the perfectly balance of flavours and freshness.<br/><br/>Cruffle S'mores: The famous croissant waffles were impressive and unique. The raspberry pistachio parfait perfectly complements the croissant waffles with the fresh berries and strawberry curd, this dish feels like summer.
Hello. Imnikki
4.5<br/><br/>I have been to Holla before and have fond memories of my dining experience here. Recently I was invited to return to try the Autumn/Winter menu, and it's safe to say that Holla remains as good, if not better, than I remembered.<br/><br/>Let's just start off with two words - Croffle S'mores. Don't let the word "S'mores" fool you though, this is not your traditional s'mores. This epic dish comprised of raspberry pistachio parfait sandwiched between croissant waffles, and paired with raspberry curd, berries, pistachio crumbs and rose syrup. A wonderful combination of sweet and tart flavours, and crunchy and soft textures. Dare I say, it was one of the best dessert dishes that I have had this year.<br/><br/>The Crab Crumpets was another amazing dish. The soft shell crab was crispy and meaty, and the kasundi added a depth of flavour to the dish. The avocado and the Hollandaise sauce paired together to give the dish a luxurious mouthfeel. <br/><br/>While the Szechuan Scallion impressed us with its beautiful flavours, the scallion pancake was lukewarm. This did not affect the flavours of the dish, but was somewhat weird when eaten on its own. The beef brisket was beautifully moist and tender in most parts, but where it was just lean meat, it was rather dry.<br/><br/>The skinny latte and Bulletproof Smoothie were sensational. Same can be said for the service. My partner and I enjoyed our meal very much, and would like to thank Holla for the amazing experience.

My friend and I were invited to Holla in Richmond for brunch. It had a really nice vibe with lots of indoor greenery and I liked the brightness of the place. Some dishes were asian-fusion and very creative. <br/>I had the chilli scrambled eggs with sourdough toast & chicken pate, spiced pork, shallots & asian herbs which was delicious. I loved the idea of pate on the toast - it really added flavour to the toast without overcomplicating it. The eggs were cooked and seasoned well. <br/>My friend had the szechuan spiced brisket, tofu miso puree, salad, scallion pancake with a fried egg. The brisket was so tender and the scallion pancake was crunchy and a genius idea.<br/>I also enjoyed my Vietnamese coffee - it was fragrant and not overly sweet. <br/>Thank you Holla for the lovely brunch and coffee!

This place surprised me, look small on the outside but it was actually big on the inside, greens everywhere, friendly staff, nice food and nice coffee, will absolutely coming back

If you’re looking for a great place for coffee and brunch in Richmond, Holla has you covered. The food is creative, colourful and most importantly it makes for a great Instagram photo (just kidding) what’s most important is that everything we ate was absolutely delicious. And it was. When you walk in there are lots of big hanging plants around which brighten the room.
Good Food Good Mood
We were invited back to Hola today to try their new winter menu which was thoroughly impressive. I was glad to see the delicious Tokyo rose and the diy smashed avo still on there but took the opportunity to try the new slow roasted lamb sandwich and the creative crab crumpets.<br/><br/>The lamb sandwich didn’t read like anything special but it was a flavour bomb explosion and I ended up having to fight my husband for it. This was a very clever dish and the people in the kitchen here clearly know what they are doing. The crab crumpets boast a whole crispy crab and the combination of kasundi, avocado and hollandaise was ingenious. Disappointingly though we did say we don’t eat pork and this dish came with bacon crumb on top of the poached eggs. I also requested a juice that didn’t arrive and felt the service overall was lacking. This was concerning to see given they knew we were invited guests so I can imagine your average punter received even less attentiveness. <br/><br/>We finished off with the croffle s’mores. This is a fabulous dish although I’m not sure what the linkage to s’mores is given that involves chocolate, marshmallow and biscuit and neither of these three elements were present on the plate. Instead it was raspberry pistachio parfait with strawberry curd which worked an absolute treat. Hats off to the chef for this unique and very special creation that is both extremely yummy and also stunningly presented. Would thoroughly recommend this venue, for dishes are innovative and sublimely tasty but a point off for the bacon. <br/><br/>____________________________________<br/><br/>Previous review <br/>Wow. What a beautiful space. The fitout feels akin to being in a greenhouse with so much gorgeous greenery dangling against stark white. The wire cages around the back tables provide plenty of intimacy for your group so you can have still have adequate space but also a bit of privacy which is a bit of a long lost concept these days in cafes where we are all bunched up so closely with tables on either side or sitting on a share table. This was the prefect seating arrangement to host a blogger brunch today to check out their new Spring menu (thank you Holla!) The menu listed on Zomato is not updated but you can find the latest on their website. <br/>What an absolute delight. They’ve got it all covered beverage wise from smoothies (try the yummy berry and açai) to cocktails (lychee mojito was utterly delicious with all the fresh herbs) to the milkshakes (salted caramel was heavenly) as well as the boozy shakes (that Frangelico Nutella was pretty much the definition of decadence). Yummm<br/>Food wise there’s a wide variety from healthy options to some more innovative Asian inspired dishes as well as those with a bit more pizzazz like the coffee smoked ocean trout which came to the table very theatrically under a cloche. It was all sensationally tasty. <br/>I ordered the morning glory which was a beautifully presented healthy bircher. Layers of yoghurt, granola and fruit kept it interestingly textural. I also shared the pana cotta and the DIY smashed avo. The pana cotta is a bit of a star on the Melbourne breakfast scene right now and they can definitely be hit and miss. This was an interesting rendition in a coconut and chia form and probably more fitting for breakfast then a lot of the other versions I’ve seen recently. It looked very pretty on the plate and was very reasonably priced (as were all the dishes actually) The avo dish was one of the coolest concepts I’ve seen and I’m not sure why no one thought of this before hand. An absolutely delicious and generous serving of avo, seeds, spices and feta with poachies on multigrain- you can get all of your worldly frustrations out with a cute little hammer and then eat the fruits of your labour. Ridiculous love for this one, so impressed that they’ve managed to reinvent the humble avo on toast in such a simple way which gives it such a creative flair. <br/>I also sampled the Tokyo Rose which was a miso sous vide salmon piled high a top a tower of soba noodles. Seriously big portions here and lots of bold flavours and yummy combinations with interesting textures. This had candied ginger, pickled veg and a punchy wasabi yuzu dressing. So fresh and zingy. <br/>I couldn’t go past trying the trout either given it came to the table with such aplomb in a potent cloud of smoke. This was exceptionally tasty also.<br/>The rest of the dishes we had at the table all looked fantastic and by all accounts tasted just as good. I’ll undoubtedly be back as it is one of the most creative brunch menus I’ve seen in Richmond, and being located on the Victoria street end makes it a cinch to park too!

Came here on a late Saturday afternoon and it was buzzing. Lovely ambience and friendly staff. The space caters for a large group comfortably and in fact, there was a birthday celebration at the table next door. We ordered the 12 hour spring lamb salad which was delightful with interesting flavours and the crab crumpets which were good as well. The coffee was good and they have a variety of smoothies to choose from. We got the bulletproof smoothie, which was a mix of coffee, cacao, peanut butter, and banana, yet tasted like a healthy option. We would definitely go back to try more!

Holla coffee roasters at Richmond. Very nice cafe with post industrial design. We came in a busy Sunday afternoon and lovely staff with great service. They do have keto friendly choice and it is a wide choice for customers. Seoul food tacos are nicely presented. Nice and succulent pulled pork but a bit sweet to me. Love the wild mushroom dish. Definitely a great place for visit.

The Aesthetic in this cafe is amazing! The coffee is so smooth and one of the best I’ve had. I ordered the puréed peas which not only looked amazing but tasted great I really enjoyed the dukkah seasoning on the greens! The waitress so very friendly, I just wish there was more on the menu under 18 dollars but definitely returning!
BIRCHER QUEEN 👑
If I could give this cafe a 10/10 I would! The BEST customer service I have received in a while and definitely a point of difference in Melbourne’s competitive cafe scene! The kind waiter offered to refill our tea pots with hot water without us asking! I was skeptical about the DIY avocado dish but it was honestly one of the best smashed avos I’ve had in a LONG time! I was able to swap the eggs for feta (week day order). My only feedback would be that the sourdough toast was quite small in size but given the toppings were on point, I still rate this dish and cafe top marks! Can’t wait to return!

Holla Coffee Roasters is a trendy, breakfast spot in the heart of the Viet hub of Richmond. To reflect this audience, it caters by providing selections of Asian fusion-type options for breakfast, such as the miso salmon soba noodles! The dishes were presented in a colourful and appetising manner, whilst the combination of ingredients were some of the most unique I’ve seen amongst the Melbourne cafes these days.
Hangry Christine
One of the best brunch places in Melbourne. Lots of gluten free friendly choices. Everything sounded delicious on the menu. We had the lamb salad and soft shell crab crumpet. <br/>The chai latte was a bit weak and not as hot as I would like. <br/>But still throughly enjoyed the meal and atmosphere! Will be back.
Jonathan Lee
I really liked this place and I'm probably not the easiest person to please.  Good ambience, friendly owner, outstanding coffee and enjoyable food.  They also seem to treat their staff well - which I think is fantastic.<br/><br/>Two things that they could improve on:<br/>1) I wish they were located closer to where I live, and<br/>2) a bit more consistency in meal sizes would be good (eg: the portion size of the croissant waffles was way more generous than the Saigon eggs).
Food Dine Roll
Wow. This place is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING. Innovative menu. Really great portions. Awesome drink lists. Beautiful space.<br/><br/>This is hands down one of the best brunch i have been to in a long time.<br/><br/>I got to taste all my friends dishes and they were all amazing. I would totally recommend the pork benny. It's the best benny i ever had. Pork was super tasty. Not dry at all.<br/><br/>The mushroom dish was extremely flavorful with a hint of truffles and to my surprise.. the waffle dish. It tasted divine. It looked like it would be overly sweet but it was well balanced.<br/><br/>My brisket was very tender. Extremely filling.<br/>I absolutely loved everything about it.<br/><br/>I really want to give it 5 stars only that today the service was not the top of their games. We waited over 25 mins for coffees and over 40 mins for food. Even though the friendly staffs, beautiful space and tasty food definitely made up for it.
Eat_today_diet_tomorrow
We came here on Saturday afternoon, they were quite busy. The cafe is full with plants so relaxing! It looks small from outside but it is pretty big! We started with Komoni Matcha and Berry & Acai smoothie. The matcha was good and the smoothie was refreshing not too sweet. <br/><br/>After that we had 3 dishes which were<br/>Croffle S’mores<br/>Crab Crumpets<br/>Seoul Food<br/><br/>Our favourite is Seoul Food which is korean inspired tacos, it has sweet and sour flavour. <br/><br/>This place also has a Bottomless brunch deal, which was pretty cool. You can pretty much eat everything for 59$ <br/><br/>The staff was friendly and lovely !

Stopped by holla with a groupon voucher that costed $32 i think. We were able to order anything up to $47 and if we exceeded that limit we’d pay the difference. <br/><br/>I ordered the pork benny with a chai latte and my boyfriend ordered the soft shell crab with a hot chocolate (such a kid 😅) <br/><br/>Pork benny: the cereal seemed like it was the for aesthetic looks and not flavour, however i was surprised that it added a lot of sweetness to the benny! It tasted great and for the price I paid (voucher price) I was very happy. Eggs were cooked perfectly, i had to add a little salt however that’s just my over salted preference. Only criticism is the pork is a bit lacking in flavour and slightly tough. 3.5/5 <br/><br/>Chai latte: Set up was so extra and amusing, i loved it! Taste was very nice, however not the best i’ve had. 3.5/5 <br/><br/>Soft shell crab: crab was very salted however it balanced well with all the other flavours on the dish. The sauce was delicious and i overall preferred this over the pork benny. 3.7/5 <br/><br/>Hot chocolate: as good as a hot chocolate will ever be 3.5/5 <br/><br/>Overall the 4/5 rating is for the price we paid, however if i had paid full price i’d go for a 3.5/5! I think holla is a great cafe, cute decor, amazing service with good food at the usual brunch price!

Not your usual chilli scrambled.. with an asian twist, but one of the best in Melbourne. 💯 <br/><br/>The Saigon chilli scrambled has spiced pork, chicken pate and fresh chilli. It is full of amazing flavours and tastes so fresh and delicious.<br/><br/>They also have great coffee, and the cocktails look amazing, haven’t tried yet! <br/><br/>I’ll be back to check out more of the delicious menu and sip on some of those incredible cocktails! 😍

Recently we were invited to dine at Holla for brunch. Located in Richmond, we were warmly welcomed and seated at a nice corner table at the front of the cafe giving us a view of the rest of the place. I instantly liked the decor. It looked modern with high ceilings with white wooden beams and an abundance of green plants and lights hanging from above. Wooden tables with black trimmings throughout the restaurant finished the touches of a lovely cafe.
Avolette
Beautiful cafe, beautiful brunch dishes and beautiful brunch cocktails (it's a thing!).<br/><br/>I had the Roasted Wild Mushroom dish and thoroughly enjoyed the depth of flavour and the varied textures of the dish. The addition of truffle ricotta really elevated the earthiness of the mushrooms. And the egg was poached perfectly.<br/><br/>Had a little giggle to myself as the DIY Avo dish "smashed to your liking" was served in a glass in a deconstructed manner whereby you have to mash it yourself.<br/><br/>No judgement as I ordered the espresso martini - so Melbourne, right? Delicious.
Rebekah Kolev
Great atmosphere and amazing food! We had the DIY avocado (who doesn’t love making their own smavo) and the Crab crumpets. Sensational coffee with house made almond milk!
Hangry Dreamer
I was lucky enough to be invited to Holla to experience their unique Asian take on brunch! Located on the perfect strip of shops to represent this - the flavours hinted at its origins but in such a creative way. Such a a beautiful cafe that was overflowing with greenery (have a look at the photos below for a taste of it!)...all I wanted was to dig into the food. With so much to choose from I was tempted by the alcoholic cocktails but I was well behaved - definitely worth a trip back to try them some time.
Melbrunchin
Nice fit out, friendly staff, good coffee but food is quite average. Not sure how I feel about a 10% surcharge on the weekends? I have never come across that before and that definitely does not give me an incentive to come back here.
Chong Wei Wei
It was our first visit to Holla Coffee Roasters and it made our date day amazing. The cafe is bright and filled with luscious indoor plants that creates a cozy feeling. Macha latte was perfect as they use the premium Macha powder from Konomi. We had the Sichuan beef briskets and soft shell crabs crumpets which both are delicious and flavourful as we love our food to be rich in taste and not dry/bland. Staffs are friendly and helpful, we will definitely be coming back.

Asian fusion done right, and a reasonably priced menu! Everything (especially the Soft shell crab eggs Benedict... which I highly recommend) was flavoured so well. There’s a dish for everyone, vegans, meat lovers and even picky eaters.<br/>Fantastic brunch location - interior is minimalistic, yet it feels very welcoming.
Eating Away Melbourne
Went to Holla on a week day it was quite busy but the service was quick and friendly. Coffee was nice and strong. Ordered the pork benedict bun, the tacos and a waffle to share. Everything was well seasoned and very interesting flavours as well. Only thing is portion size is a bit small I was still not full after sharing 3 dishes with my friend..
Thuaners
I had the croffle s’mores! Wow... it was beautiful and delicious!! A croissant crossed with a waffle! As delicious as a waffle but with the added awesome of the crispiness and butteriness of a croissant! 😋 And all the flavours were so good! The strawberry flavour, wow! The coffee here was really good and also we shared a muffin and a cookie, delicious!! And i love the signage on the male and female toilets here hehe! 👏👍😂
Bites Of Melbourne
Enjoyed my lunch, went with some work friends <br/>Was hard to find a park <br/>Coffee was good <br/>We all enjoyed the food <br/>Would love to visit again for brunch
Jonathan
Outstanding breakfast, outstanding coffee, very friendly service. <br/>I'm not easily impressed, and this is one of my top two Melbourne breakfast spots.<br/>The D.I.Y Avocado where you mash it with goats cheese and herbs was superb, the mushrooms on toast with truffled ricotta was even better, and the coffee is spot on here.
Julia Stehli
I was pretty disappointed with this place, which I think was mainly due to the atmosphere, although I cannot tag anything specific. Food and coffee were both ok, but nothing special.
FOOD TRIP
Holla is a cosy little cafe in Richmond that's great for some coffee or brunch. The interior is decorated full of greenery and plants, makes you feel as though you're walking into a mini rainforest. Menu options are varied and food is yummy. . Good place to check out! . Creamy and smooth!. Seoul Food (3 pcs) $18.50
Alex
I had higher expectations for this place considering it’s 4.1 Zomato rating. I ordered scrambled eggs on toast and added smoked salmon for an extra $5.50. I could excuse the 2 small pieces of salmon but then the toast, eggs and plate were drenched in oil and I felt sick after eating half my meal. Maybe it was just this dish or they were having an off-day. The coffee was great though and I hope to come again for a better experience!
Lanaa
I have to say, this is my new favorite place, anytime I think about going for brunch I think of this place lately. I have tried a number of things on their menu and they are all amazong, specially the DIY smashed avo = great dish.<br/>I also love the feel of the place, so green and cozy. highly recommend it !<br/>

Great food and great service at Holla Melbourne! The staff were well trained and all new the menu back to front. The interior of the cafe was very comfortable and enjoyable. Food was solid and would go back again to try other menu items

Went here for bruch and try Croffle s’mores. It’s taste too good to be tru haha. I’m a big fan of croissants and I never thought it’ll be a brilliant idea lol. I love how they combine a croffle and some sorbet, ice cream and berries, it’s so refreshing.
Anna Phan
Went here today for brunch. A really cute cafe with all kinds of hanging plants, pretty instagramable 👼🏼👼🏼 me and my friend shared their acai smoothie which was good, not too sweet and refreshing. I got their DIY avo toast, such a cute idea with the masher and all that hahah 🤗🤗 and it s not like the usual stuff you can make at home, they added goat cheese, chilly slices, almond and a wedge of grilled lemon which really elevated the normal avo mash, also they were very generous with the avo too!! Toast was a tad too crunchy for me, but the eggs was perfectly poached and oozyyyy. My friend got the korean taco with a side of chips liked the dish as well. The girls who worked there were really nice and helped us with the menu. Would definitely be back!!!
Egg Is Okay
Service was quick and friendly. Wasn’t too busy so there wasn’t much of a wait for food. The mushrooms were so good. Managed to clean up the whole plate. Wasn’t too flavoured or salty like other places. Eggs were perfectly poached and the truffle cream was amazing. A good mix of different mushrooms as well. Would definitely order this dish again. <br/><br/>Great vibe, love all the hanging plants.
Denny Patron
Really cool fit out, very relaxing and peaceful decor, kind of felt like we were in Bali. Food was really good, the pork benny was super flavorsome, on of the best eggs benny I have had. Avo was very tasty as well, only let down was the OJ wasn’t great but no big deal. Service was friendly as well, defiantly recommend a visit here!!

Holla is a modern Australian cafe located on Victoria St. They're all about scrumptious brunches, kick-ass cocktails and their own roasted-in-house coffee.
Thalia Cottis
I really loved the setup of this cafe, the plants are beautiful and the service was great. The smoothies were delicious. My favourite dish was the Banana Bread with espresso profiteroles, pistachio mascarpone, fresh fruits, chocolate sauce and pistachio crumble and the Roast Cauliflower & Quinoa Fritters with Smoked Cheddar Puree, Chargrilled Jalapeno, Poached Eggs, Bacon and Herb Crumb.

This place has an amazing set out. Seriously it is like being in a fern garden inside. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful and really added to the experience.<br/>The food was however nice but unfortunately didn't match the A grade set out and staff.<br/>I ordered the Pork Benny which turned out to be a burger (didn't say this on the menu). The pulled pork was quite bland and there wasn't much hollondaise sauce at all.<br/>The Oreo shake however was absolutely fantastic and I one of the best and most original shakes I have had in quite some time
AnotherAsianAbroad
Lovely interior and we got seated straight away on a Sunday at lunch time. I had a nice chai made with homemade almond milk although maybe a tad on the sweeter side but still delicious. For food my partner had the baguette with a side of chips and I had the spring lamb salad. The chips were nice and crunchy and the baguette was decent. I thought my lamb salad was nice and refreshing but I don’t think it is worth $21.50 as the amount of lamb given was so small and more on the fatty side . <br/><br/>Service was friendly although our food order didn’t go through the first time, so we waited quite a while for food.
@foodtom
Not a bad place to visit, the vibes on the inside are quite nice, and the food quality is pretty homy. I wouldn't say the taste was 100% there, more like close to 80% but they definitely have presentation aced. Overall I'd definitely eat here again.
Holly Taylor
Unfriendly hipster cafe. Menu is uber creative but not much that I overly enjoyed. Hot chocs taste strongly like cacao and are served luke warm. Pounding music at 10am in the morning... Sorry, I wouldn’t return.
Hangry Jules
I had a groupon deal for four ppl and it worked out to be 16 dollars pp including coffee😍 food looked amazing and I loved my matcha latte. Friendly staff and great interior💛 We got to stay in one of the cages and not only was it perfect for insta, it gave us the privacy we needed ☺️☺️ toilet sign was quite cheeky I must say, pls go into the cat signed cubicle if you're female🐱 <br/><br/>Thanks for serving four chatty girls today Holla!

Nice looking cafe with friendly staff who were attentive and good food! Ordered the pork benny and i really liked it, tasted great, egg poached nicely, tender juicy meat, plenty of hollandaise with beerios which i found strange but quite liked. Although the pork benny doesnt look so big, it was quite filling. Would totally come back for more.<br/><br/>
Dora & Craig
Me and my boyfriend bought Groupon and they charged extra for if you spend more than $19.5 per meal which means you don’t get to choose all for free and last minimal options. It was a bad experience as the service and food was pretty bad although coffee was alright. They put cereal on a top of pork which I don’t think it’s a good idea in terms of taste. The price is overpriced for such an average food and small portions. I’ll never come back again and definitely not recommend it.

Funky place with very trendy decor. Coffee was disappointing, could have been warmer and was a little tasteless. Very fun cups and quick service.
Two Sheds
Seriously good place. Really nicely laid out and decorated, it felt instantly good to us. Love the abundant plants positioned around. Nothing like a bit of healthy well tended greenery to lift the mood. My colleague and I are slowly working our way through many of Melbourne’s well regarded brunch venues. This is a very good one and right up there with the best. My Saigon scrambled eggs were excellent. They looked unexpectedly sparse and a little forlorn on the plate when they arrived. What they lacked in looks they compensated for in flavour. I loved this dish. It was delicious. It’s as interesting a breakfast dish as I’ve ever eaten. Really interesting flavour combinations and a triumph to eat. It hurt me to finish it. My companion’s coffee smoked trout was also a hit from start to finish. Lots of smoky theatre when it arrived, it’s a very attractive dish with lots of interest and flavour. He enjoyed it immensely. I love that you can have a drink with brunch here. It’s civilized. Our Tobacco Road sparkling was pleasant to start our first brunch of the year. My subsequent Bloody Mary was a cracker, my colleague’s expresso martini a beauty. We eventually and reluctantly moved to coffee. They take coffee very seriously here. Our single origin coffees were superbly made and beautifully flavoured. I have tasted few better. Our server was very nice and right on top of the menu. His recommendations were spot on. This is a great place. It would be very hard not to have a great time here. I’ll be back.

This cafe is great! I loved the decor and the service was superb. The food was delicious and presentation was also amusing. I really enjoyed my dish which was the cauliflower & quinoa fritters. Would like to try other dishes from here 👌

Holla is one of the many cafes on the seemingly endless Victoria Street, but with its stripy monochrome umbrellas and bold “coffee roasters” sign, it seems determined to stand out and let you know why they’re there. From their scary smoothie glasses to their boozy shakes these guys are definitely trying to keep brunch interesting.
Roberto Kadamani
Would not recommend. Everything on the menu is very specific and staff will NOT alter anything. We were looking for two meals but the venue had a problem switching poached eggs to scrambled. Very unaccommodating. Coffee was also pretty ordinary. <br/>The decor and greenery was quite nice.
Love At First Bite
I grew up in a Chinese/Vietnamese household in the inner south east so I have many fond memories of eating on Victoria street as a child. I was very excited to come check out Holla with their dishes that draw heavily from the surrounding asian influences with dishes like ‘Saigon scrambled eggs’ and ‘Tokyo Rose’. I came here one Sunday with a large group of friends and will share that experience with you here.

After winning a competition on instagram I was invited to enjoy a free lunch. I don’t usually travel across the river, but on this occasion, why not? <br/>We started with a boozy drink, I had the lychee mohito and my bf ordered a negroni, both drinks refreshing and packed a punch w alcohol. <br/>I ordered the Saigon scramble with sides and he ordered the eggs Benny. Both delicious and delectable! I ended it with a Vietnamese coffee over ice - sans milk and he had a vanilla bean baileys milkshake... a great ending to a boozy brunch. <br/>Despite this meal being free, we will definitely be back!! Also, friendly service!

Saturday 25 November 2017 at 2pm. <br/>A really nice interior to Holla. <br/>The staff were nice. <br/>I opted for the Saigon Eggs 🥚 <br/>These were pleasant but not overwhelming. <br/>The coffee was really nice ☕️ <br/>😊👍🏻

So grateful to have visited Holla. Instantly fell in love with the decor. I appreciate when extra attention is given to the way a café is set-up, decorated and cared for. <br/>Waitstaff very polite and ready to explain thoroughly the dishes available on the menu. Which brings me to another positive aspect. Their menu, in my opinion, has an option suitable for everyone. <br/>We ordered the Coffee Smoked Trout, Pork Benny & Warm Banana Bread. Personally I think Holla has put thought into the creation of each dish which definitely showed. The smoked trout had a nice smokey flavour yet not too overpowering. The apple jam & fennel puré,together with the beetroot gave the dish freshness. So the contrast between fresh and smokey was a winner for me. <br/>Pork Benny comprised beer infused berrios which I had never tasted. This element gave this dish an unexpected but very delicious twist. Warm Banana Bread was out of this world. The pistachio mascarpone & crumb were divine. Loved the presentation. The banana bread was comforting and moist, drizzled with warm chocolate sauce, this was the perfect end to our visit at Holla. Will be back!

Love this place- so many great options on the menu, friendly service & quality coffee. Definitely one of our favourite brunch spots! Super trendy interior too!

Just went here, good joint with solid decor. The bulletproof coffee shake is quality- you can really taste the freshly milked almonds... 😂<br/>Food was good, not fantastic. Given there was no wait and we sat in a booth, i would return.

Great atmosphere at Holla !!! The presentation of this food is great, however the smoothies were a bit watery. The bircher was super tasty (one of my favs) but the panacotta was a bit tasteless the banana helped with adding flavour but more fruits would have been better!! The interiors are lovely here with lots of green plants and cute booths💛💛🙌🏻<br/><br/>Service: 4/5<br/><br/>Food: 3.5/5<br/><br/>Atmosphere: 4/5

What an amazing cafe this truly was ! Holla is a mix of Vietnamese and modern day brunch and offers delicious and innovative dishes to satisfy anyone’s breakfast cravings <br/>The dishes are not only stunning to look at or photograph but tasty and full of flavour <br/>My favourite dishes to name a few was the pana cotta , smashed avo , cauliflower fritters and the eggs benny 👌🏽 don’t forget also to dry their smoothie range or even their boozy smoothies if your feeling like day drinking 😅 I will be back here no doubt !!

Holla is a relatively new yet welcoming addition to the bustling eateries on Victoria Street in Richmond.<br/>With a trendy fitout and plenty of natural light, this cafe manages to dish up plenty of photogenic dishes that not only looked stunning, but tasted the part too. The winner for us though? That Pork Benny burg!
The City Lane
We know Victoria Street for its unbeatable pho and banh mi, further glorified by cheap prices and BYO standards. However, the busy street is nothing to look at. We come for the food, not for the aesthetic. Or so we thought. Nestled between the fruit markets and seafood shops, Holla Food & Drinkk is hard to miss—manicured front patio, forest green walls, and the words coffee roasters labeled in mod typography, are dead giveaways of the operation here.

Awesome DIY smash avocado with seeds & spices. I asked for scrambled eggs instead of poached & it was cooked perfectly. The vegan pana cotta was ok. Service was attentive & friendly. Would definitely come back.
@twogoodtoresist
From the moment we walked into Holla we knew we were in for something better than your regular “melbourne cafe” scene. With gorgeous interior, friendly staff and a very unique menu, we really loved our experience at holla. Not only do the smoothies come out looking gorgeous, they’re great too! We highly recommend the Tokyo rose salad which is huge, pretty and unlike most, justifies buying a salad out and actually feeling full! The coffee smoked trout isn’t just about how it comes out (with a glass lid) but is also tasty and flavoursome too. The vegan pannacotta was light and flavoursome but could have done with a few more pieces of fruit and granola. A visit to holla will not disappoint and we can’t wait to go back to explore more of their menu!

Amidst the hot weather and the rows of Asian grocery stores lies Holla. A literal oasis against the heat with its greenhouse-like interiors and plants scattered and hanging about! I got a cold Vietnamese style iced coffee which was perfect against the weather. <br/><br/>We then shared the Vegan Pannacotta which was prettily plated (and therefore, very photogenic). The buckwheat granola at the bottom was very interesting, but the star of the dish was definitely the pannacotta itself. Light and refreshing without thankfully, being overly sweet. We also got the Roasted Cauliflower and Quinoa fritter which was my favourite dish. The smoked cheddar puree just tied the whole dish together! <br/><br/>Perhaps the most unique out of the dishes we had was the DIY Smashed Avo served pestle and mortar style. Very cute indeed. The Tokyo Rose was the last thing I tried - it was a soba salad with miso sous vide Salmon. Although it could use just a little bit more dressing in my opinion, the salmon was just amazing. The miso marinade was just the bomb. <br/><br/>Overall, I really loved the ambience (and the fritters) and I would definitely be back to try some of the cocktails that I didn't manage to get!

** Updated Review<br/><br/>Yes we are back again to check out the new Autumn / Winter menu at Holla.<br/><br/>Well we could not go past our old favourite the Seoul food taco. We also tried the Crab Crumpets with the whole crispy soft-shell crab, kasundi, 2 poached eggs, hollandaise, bacon crumb & avocado on crumpets which is new on the menu.<br/><br/>But dish of the day was the Szechuan Scallion w/ Szechuan spiced brisket, tofu miso puree, Chinese leaves and shoots, scallion pancake, fried egg. This wowed us the brisket was so tender with the<br/>Scallion pancake, what a great authentic dish.<br/><br/>Now we could not leave without a latte as well as our  favourite the<br/>Croffle S’mores. Make sure you try it, delicious as always.<br/><br/>Thanks for the invite.<br/><br/>** Updated review**<br/><br/>What a delight to visit with a party of 9  and the staff quickly arranged tables to cater for us. We ordered everything from the Mango Pana cotta with the zesty lime  coconut yoghurt, tropical granola, caramelized peaches & dehydrated papaya.<br/><br/>Saigon Scrambled Eggs with chicken paté, spiced pork, fresh chillies, spring onions, crispy fried shallots, Asian herbs on sourdough<br/><br/>Pork Benny woth toasted brioche, bourbon brined pork collar, poached eggs, hollandaise, beerios, bacon crumb as well as the Seoul Food the Korean BBQ pork tacos w/ daikon & kimchi slaw & fresh chillies on White Corn tortillas (3 Tacos in a serve).<br/><br/>But the absolute favourite was the Croffle S’mores which we ordered as an additional dish to share. This was a croissant waffles with raspberry pistachio parfait, strawberry curd, fresh berries, pistachio crumb & rose syrup.<br/><br/>Every dish was fantastic and the service was quick and efficient too.<br/> <br/><br/>***<br/><br/>Holla is the type of cafe that is deceiving from the outside, it looks like your small ordinary cafe but when you step inside it's amazing. The decor inside is fresh and cool with plants hanging on the celing, in pots on tables, there is a long bar area, a roast coffee roasting area, an ample area for people to sit and enjoy the coffee breakfast or brunch. The food was fresh and delicious, well priced and the servings were generous. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The menu was great had a few twists to your typical brunch menu for example we ordered the pork Benny which had a generous serving of bourbon brined pork collar, poached egg, hollandaise, beer soaked cherrios and bacon crumbs. Who would've thought to soak cherrios in beer? The DYI smashed avocado was delicious with thinly sliced red chillies. I loved the idea of smashing your own avocado in a cup, mine was more on the chunky size. We also had three amazing drinks the green smoothie the berry smoothie which was amazing and the Oreo shake that was a winner. Although the place was extremely busy we got our food within a reasonable time. The coffee was also excellent it's roasted at the premises and made with love by the Barista it's hard to explain how cool this place is until you're being there. Please let us know your experience at Holla.
Tinmans Treats
Located near the corner of Church Street and Victoria St, is a cafe serving an electric, multicultural array of daytime eating options. <br/><br/>Due to its location in the heart of Richmond's Vietnamese community, and my Vietnamese heritage, I opted for the Saigon Scrambled Eggs. People either love or hate chicken pate, I personally LOVE it and was a great addition to scrambled eggs. Sourdough was nice. The biggest indicator that I liked it is that I finished the plate. My only regret is not having sriracha hot sauce in my pocket to drizzle on top :) <br/><br/>The smoothies were served in Polynesian wood carving themed glasses which is a nice change from the mason jars. I tried all three smoothies and they were all good. Other dishes that my fellow bloggers had looked great as well. <br/><br/>There's a lot of fancy and borderline OTT breakfast/brunch options around, and Holla also has its array of Instagram worthy food, and their presentation and food theatre on some dishes is impeccable.  However, my go to is always scrambled eggs on toast, and is my true indicator on whether I truly will eat here. <br/><br/>I will eat here again. I'd take someone here to impress them. but i would come here, because I want interesting food cooked well. <br/><br/>Disclaimer: I went here as part of an blogger event organised by Breakfastpiggy

Holla is a relatively new kid on the block in Richmond. The interior its light and bright with plenty off seating including generous booths for catching up with friends. <br/>The service is attentive and helpful and they have quite an extensive menu including all your brekkie faves plus great lunch options like salads, burgers and verge options. The smoothies are huge and definitely something for everyone. <br/>The food is totally instagram worthy, particularly the sweet options like the panacotta and banana bread with profiteroles add chocolate sauce! <br/>We also highly recommend the pork benny on brioche with beerios!<br/>Looking forward to going back and trying some of their other dishes. <br/>*we were invited to dine at Holla*

Holla Food & Drink is a visually stunning café located on the corner of Victoria and Church street in bustling Richmond. The open floor plan is vibrantly decorated with hanging pot plants, making you feel like you’ve just entered a garden nirvana. <br/>The service was excellent considering how many of us there were, and the food and drink were also visually appealing.<br/>The almond chai was slightly disappointing, as it was overburdened with cinnamon and not much else in terms of flavour and the Bulletproof smoothie was strong (possibly a bit too strong) and extremely filling. The Berry and Acai smoothie was flawlessly delicious and had the perfect level of sweetness, making it the winner of the day.<br/>The breakfast panna cotta dish was disappointing, as the sweet coconut and chia panna cotta lacked any depth or flavour and the nut butter was almost solid, but the crunchiness of the buckwheat crumble mixed with the fresh berries was quite pleasant. <br/>Finally, the Superfood salad with the addition of sous vide cooked chicken breast was light, healthy and quite a lovely dish. The addition of dried blueberries added a welcome bit of sweetness and we enjoyed digging in!<br/>Overall, Holla is a quirky, aesthetically stunning café with lovely staff and a lot of potential.

Amazing menu, delicious drinks, wonderful service & a damn good looking venue! Couldn’t fault our first Holla visit! Can highly recommend the Roasted Wild Mushrooms, Eggs Benny or Breaky Bun perfectly partnered with a Choc Shake or coffee!

Holla is a cute Eatery in Richmond which not only has all your fave sweets at the counter but serves up some delicious brunch meals! The breakfast board is perfect for in the indecisive folk amongst us. It comes with smashed peas on toast, a poached egg, a cauliflower fritter, Bircher muesli and a glass of OJ. Perfection! <br/><br/>The coffee smoked trout is the other standout. A rich dish but perfect for those complex palates out there. <br/><br/>This place is really cool and worth a visit 👍🏻👍🏻
Breakfastpiggy
> Brekkie Board with pureed peas on toast, poached egg, cauliflower fritter + smoked cheddar puree, apple & nashi pear bircher muesli & OJ <<br/><br/>Holla is a brand new café that has really made itself known on the Melbourne food scene. Located on the border of Richmond and Abbotsford, Holla is a beautifully decorated café, perfect for all the Melbourne food lovers. There is a very vibrant feel as you walk in as the kitchen is easily visible, and the floor plan is quite open. As you walk further back into the café, there are booth seating surrounded by lots of plants, making it feel like you’re eating amongst a garden enclosure. The staff here are really nice and very helpful for those who are very indecisive like myself. <br/>You’re probably thinking, typical, you got the breakfast board. Am I right? Well, this time there is a good reason why I got it! Because Holla is new, and new year is flying around the corner, I decided it was a good idea to get this dish so I can try a bit of everything, just in case I run out of time to come back before next year. Good enough excuse? Well I was very excited to give everything a bit of a try so I started with the cauliflower fritter because it looked way too good not to taste. It is an interesting concept, however, I really enjoyed the texture and consistency. Cauliflower is my favourite vegetable so I was so excited to see how it tasted in one of my favourite breakfast dishes. With no shock, it tasted incredible! I wish there was more of it on this board because it was a real stand out piece for me. From there I decided I would give the pureed peas on toast because it looked so vibrant and smooth. I’m not a huge fan of peas, but this concept really intrigued me and actually had a lot more flavour than I thought it would. So don’t be afraid to get this board just because you’re not a pea fan, because I can guarantee you’ll enjoy this one! After I tried that, I had a sip of the orange juice to cleanse my palate, and wow, this OJ was so smooth and not too acidic. I left the prettiest part of the meal until last because doesn’t everyone do that?! This bircher is seriously one of the best I’ve ever had!!! The yogurt is so smooth and the bircher has so much flavour. The combination of everything in the bircher worked incredibly together, and I would definitely go back and have a whole jar of it!<br/><br/>Overall, I really did enjoy Holla because the food is not just beautiful, but it tastes amazing and the quality really shines through.<br/><br/>The breakfastpiggy team<br/><br/>Piggies out, Oink oink 🐷🐷

Such a gorgeous cafe, so many beautiful plants, it gives off such a tropical vibe. The bar is so colourful too and you can watch your dish get made basically in front of your eyes - and see all their fresh ingredients, which we loved. We tried their green and peanut butter smoothie, which came in awesome cups! We also tried three dishes, with the soba noodle salmon sald being out favourite - so many different colours and flavours! it was delishious! Would hands down recommend this place

A beautiful cafe, full of plants that gives off a relaxed and tropical vibe. We were lucky enough to try the healthy and delicious smoothies that come in awesome looking cups. We tried three dishes with our favourite being the roasted wild mushrooms. If we were in Richmond again, we would definately come back as the staff were super friendly and overall had a really positive experience at Holla.
Melbourne To Mouth
While Richmond has certainly never been behind the game when it comes to awesome eateries, the Victoria Street side has usually been dominated (for me) by a need for satiating a Pho or Dumping craving. Pre-game Pho, Hangover Pho, You Name it, I've had it Pho. Over the last 12-18 months though, some rad spots opening up in the area are taking me down there for an entire new reason, Holla being one of them.<br/><br/>Serving up the goods for breakfast, lunch, dinner and even if you're just keen for a cheeky cocktail, Holla delivers. I was invited recently to check out their new spring brunch menu and was lucky to turn it into a boozy affair once we realised how good their shakes were. With a fun highlight being the self-smash avo dish (Yessss... can still afford to buy a house if you do it yourself, right?), the Korean tacos, Morning Glory bircher and coffee smoked trout (theatrical and a must-try) were highlights in a spread that was very hard to fault. Not only is the food good, Holla nails that indoor/outdoor feel; light and bright and their staff keep the pace with a frenetic and fun atmosphere.<br/> <br/>Definitely keen to come back and night and check out their dinner menu, if it's anything like breakfast I'm sure I won't be disappointed.
Daily Food News
Holla Melbourne – what a beautiful space in Richmond! We were lucky enough to get invited to taste test their Spring and Summer Menu. As we entered Holla for the first time, we were greeted by friendly staff and was directed to our table. The floor plan is a unique one – a very long and deep bar table that makes it all the way to the back of the restaurant. It starts with its coffee machine at the front, bar in the middle and eventually the kitchen as the bar table stretches. Tables were across from the bar table with smaller dining options at the front and larger groups at the back.<br/><br/>Our table was located at the back in a nice greenery and industrial cage. We started with a range of drinks from cocktails to smoothies. The vegan Berry & Acai smoothie was definitely a surprise pick out of the drinks we had. The mixture of blueberry, raspberry, passionfruit and coconut water made this one of better smoothies we have had! We also tried the Green Smoothie which had a unique mixture and taste of Chlorella and ginger, we weren’t a huge fan but probably should have been more aware as it was a ‘Green’ Smoothie!<br/><br/>We tried a variety of awesome food during our cosy brunch at Holla. We started with our mains of the Pork Benny which contained boubon brined pork collar and 2 perfectly cooked poached eggs. Small surprise as it came in a burger form and also had small bacon crumbs which everyone loves! We also had a Spring Lamb Salad from the other side of the food chain - it was a nice green salad with lamb on the top. The lamb was a slow roast lamb which was a little dry however still tasted great with the green salad. <br/><br/>We also got to share and see the fabulous Coffee Smoked Trout which was A M A Z I N G. The precision in how they have chosen to display this dish is off the charts. It comes in a glass cover that is all smoked up and is nicely presented with apple jam, poached eggs and purposely burnt beetroot (yum).<br/><br/>Other food we got to share was the Coconut and Chia Seed Pana Cotta, DIY Smashed Avo and the Tokyo Rose - they were all amazing in presentation, however, the Pana Cotta lacked extra taste, and Tokyo Rose salad was a bit too chilly for us! The DIY Smashed Avo is a brilliant idea; not sure why no other cafe has thought of this. It was great fun to smash our own avocado!<br/><br/>Overall, Holla Melbourne is definitely a place to go if you're driving around Richmond. It's cosy and has a very nice vibe as soon as you walk in with its greenery. <br/><br/>Thanks for the team there for hosting us!
Little Bit Of Everything
A very relaxed and chilled spot for brunch. Creative interiors which sets out the place from others. Love their smoothies, very rich and filling. I had their King fish and potatoes dish, quite delicious and unique. Excellent service and friendly staff who are always happy to suggest in case you are not sure which one to pick.
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
This place looks super chilled and laid back with the greenery decor and we surprisingly didn't have to wait for a table at peak lunch hour. <br/>The kingfish dish with the potatoes was something different to the normal brunch menu - it tasted pretty good individually, especially with the pickled onions, however the potatoes are way too heavy for brunch and doesnt go well with the freshness of the fish.<br/>The croquettes dish was mediocre - it looked much better than it tasted, as the toast sticks were quite dry. <br/>The sweet dish was very disappointing and nothing worked in the dish. The pudding was quite sloppy - it didnt go well with the pineapple sauce, pineapples and banana crisps - the coconut foam also didn't work for me unfortunately.

Surprise for what is a very ratty part of Richmond a very cool place and a great find. Fitout is great and service was quick and friendly. Orange juice was average and felt it was out of a bottle not freshly squeezed. Ordered the mac and cheese benedict which was delightful. Not something I have seen on a menu before so had to have it. Eggs cooked perfectly and mac and cheese was good... small amount but good. Will come back to try other stuff as the menu reads great.
Olivia
Don't ever get take away coffees here. They take AGES! Even when they're not busy. We have also had lunch here. The food is average. We didn't find anything special about the menu.
HBTTP
Holla, my local 5 minute walk from home brunch venue and I'm really glad its there.<br/><br/>The go to dish for me is definately their mac n cheese benedict (I've have had it at least 5 times). If its not considered to be, it should be their signature meal.<br/><br/>If you love creamy thick hollandise, always perfectly poached eggs and croquettes/crispy, crunchy chucks of good stuff (sourdough croutons) its a must try.<br/><br/>These guys are actively changing and updating their dishes as well. New addition Breakfast of Champignons is a delicate and light dish of mushrooms. Nice and filling with a few different flavours at play but not heavy.<br/><br/>In the past they've had a cured cod dish which was also a good bite.<br/><br/>The service is friendly, proper and comfortable. Decor is average, but the win here is with the completely open kitchen with chefs in plain view all the time looking focussed and organised.<br/><br/>Some might say the price is a bit high, but it is in Richmond and you're paying for non-standard dishes, so definately worth a visit.<br/><br/>Love the toilet doors too, awesome. (You'll see what i mean if you visit..and you should)

A day off work on a Monday sounds pretty sweet. But it was a lot sweeter when I heard about Holla’s Food and Drink at Richmond, a recommendation from a good friend of mine and she was keen to try it out, so we both agreed and decided to go.<br/>The interior is covered with a lot of white and green, giving off a bit of an environmental feel. It’s not like the one at AU79 where its all spacious and pretty with the greenhouse effect, Holla’s is on a much smaller scale.<br/>The main dishes we had were The Brexit and the Portuguese Hash which we enjoyed and left our taste buds happy. The Brexit had a powerful crunch with a great texture of the scotch egg oozing with the yolk was simply amazing to taste, and I loved the fresh salted cod and the sweet squid ink mayo which brought out most of the flavour.<br/>The only letdown was the service as it was a bit slow. We did ask at one point after waiting 20 minutes.<br/>A café well worth visiting, and will be back to try out more dishes.<br/>And one more thing, be sure to check their Instagram page. 😊<br/>- Rob

Soul food served for breakfast is so wrong but so good. Mac n' Cheese Benedict-mac n' cheese croquettes, hollandaise, poached eggs, vegemite dust and sourdough croutons.$18.50. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟/5<br/><br/>Service is really attentive and fast. It's real cool seeing an open kitchen with the staff getting along.
Amara
Came here on a busy Saturday morning for a quick breakfast and coffee.<br/><br/>I had the Brekkie Roll which consisted of a pain de mie bun, bacon, poached egg, and hollandaise sauce. This was delicious and I would definitely order it again. The egg was cooked very well with a nice runny yolk. The hollandaise was a nice consistency (not too thin or runny) and held a welcoming flavour. The bacon could have been cooked a little more for my liking and was a little too oily, but was pleasant nevertheless. It was also a decent and filling size for me.<br/><br/>The service, however, was slow. Very slow. We had to ask twice about where our coffees were as they were taking a while, a the waiter seemed a little distracted and rushed. Many people who were getting takeaway coffees and orders seemed to be getting their food before us (even though we were there first).<br/><br/>The food was lovely though, and other people's food seemed to look nice too (i.e. the granola and muffins). I will probably go back to test out some of their other meals.
The Fo0die
Updated: 09/11/2017<br/><br/>Fo0die dined as a guest of Holla Food & Drink and as such, the rating does not give any consideration to customer service.<br/><br/>This review covers the two visits we've had at Holla Food & Drink and on the second visit, we've knocked the rating up to a 4 from a 3.5!<br/><br/>Both visits we arrived at 11:30am on a Saturday, we secured parking on Victoria St where the cafe was. Parking along the street is '1P' (an hour) until 12:30pm where it then has no time limit after that on a Saturday.<br/><br/><br/>>> Interior<br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>The interior of the cafe is filled with hanging plants off the modern exposed ceiling; creating a bit of a greenery oasis with sections of the roof letting in diffused natural lighting. Seating is available out the front of the cafe along Victoria St as well as inside where tables run along one side and a service kitchen and bar on the other with some seating also available at the bar. Further at the back of the cafe are booths with beautiful creeping vines draping down creating a 'roof' above each booth. <br/><br/>On our first visit, right at the back was where Holla Food & Drink's new shiny toy sits; a coffee roaster which represented a new venture that the cafe was starting and on our second visit we got to taste the produce from their in house roasted coffee.<br/><br/><br/>>> Food/Drinks<br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>At only 11 months old when we first visited, Holla Food & Drink has a good selection on their menu which could easily cater for the different dietary requirements (vegan, gluten free and vegetarian) as well as different preferences (from the grill to mains to an all day breakfast menu). The dishes itself are beautifully executed and are on the lighter side (we were able to have 3 dishes between the two of us). <br/><br/>The highlight was the crispy and cheesy mac n' cheese with the salty vegemite dust and perfectly crisp sourdough croutons and the not overly sweet and fluffy red velvet hotcake which was presented a little differently to the ones I had seen on instagram prior to dining at the cafe. The tacos arrived as a pair on the plate with the prawns just cooked. Biting into it, the prawns had an unexpected natural sweetness to it instead of a salty marinade that we had expected to go with the rest of the taco.<br/><br/>On our second visit, the menu now has a lot more Asian influence; Holla banh mi, Tokyo rose, Seoul food, which is taken from the area the cafe is located in. While we still had 3 dishes between us, the serving sizes were a little larger than our first visit and we would have been perfectly satisfied with 2 dishes.<br/><br/>A recap of the food we had; the 'Tokyo rose' dish was not as miso flavoured or strong in yuzu flavour as we had anticipated going off the menu but was a nice fresh dish for the warmer weather. While the beef in the burger was cooked perfectly medium as advised on the menu with not too overly pickly pickles (Mr J is not fond of pickles but still ate these) and paired perfectly well with the hand cut chips to make it into a filling meal. The chips were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside = our kind of perfect chips. The banana bread was beautifully presented on the plate, lightly toasted on the outside but was a little dry.<br/><br/>While we didn't have a particular strong memory of the coffee on our first visit, the second visit with their in house roasted coffee, was well balanced in the mocha we had <br/><br/><br/>>> Dishes that make up this review (first visit)<br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Tiger prawn tacos; marinated & barbequed tiger prawns with spicy green tomato salsa, avocado, smoked corn puree & lime mayonnaise on corn tortillas ($16.50)<br/><br/>Mac n' cheese benedict; mac n' cheese croquettes, hollandaise, poached eggs, vegemite dust and sourdough croutons ($18.50)*<br/><br/>Red velvet hotcake with vanilla cream, raspberry coulis, maple syrup and seasonal fruit ($17.50)*<br/><br/>Matcha latte ($4.50)<br/><br/>Mocha ($4)<br/><br/><br/>>> Dishes that make up this review (second visit)<br/>~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~<br/>Holla burger; ground grass-fed beef, garlic butter, smoked cheddar, dijon dressed greens, pickled red onions on a brioche bun (cooked medium) ($16) with hand cut chips ($5) <br/><br/>Tokyo rose; miso sous vide salmon, soba noodles, pickled veg, cucumber, snow peas, red cabbage, candied ginger, chilli, wasabi yuzu dressing ($21)<br/><br/>Warm banana bread with espresso profiteroles, pistachio mascarpone, fresh fruits, chocolate sauce, pistachio crumble ($18.50)<br/><br/>Matcha latte ($4)<br/><br/>Mocha ($3.50)<br/><br/><br/><br/>Follow me on Instagram for more photos: @fo0die (with a zero)

It's a great cafe in Richmond...clean with a fresh feel, probably because of the greenery :) <br/><br/>Lattes hit the spot and lunch was so good. Only criticism I would have is that the salmon dish was a little too oily for my liking but that's probably just personal preference.
Mrs Mark
Went here for a late lunch over Easter. Service was speedy and friendly enough. I had the salmon with capsicum purée. It was tasty but the thick rim of oil around the purée was very off-putting. Not in a rush to go back.

The place is really nice inside and the staff are friendly. However the food takes forever. I was going for brunch and it wasn't that busy. I ordered the brexit and it took over 40mins. I'd understand if the place was packed and busy but it wasn't. They either need to hire more kitchen staff, or get a bigger kitchen because waiting for over 40mins especially when it's dining for 1 and not a group is not a good look. I'd be afraid to dine here with a group of people if it was busy because it would probably take more than an hour for it to come out
Belinda Vee
Solid brunch on Vic St! Being a local I always take my friends here and I love everything they have to offer on the menu. The service is super friendly and decor is real nice too! Would recommend the acai bowl!
Mel
Best brunch I've had in a long time.<br/><br/>The Salt Cod or what I think now is called the Portuguese Hash, is the best combination of flavours I've had in a really long time. So good that I ordered two after I ate most of my friends... just order it.<br/><br/>Red Velvet Hotcake is full of flavor and really cakey. Everything you expect in a red velvet brunch/dessert.

This place is okay. I arrived with the hound in tow and hovered by the door for a while. I was ignored, so when the next outdoor table became free, I sat down. I then waited for almost 15 minutes just to be asked whether I'd been seen to. My friend arrived and coffees were served up, though it took about another 15 minutes just to get the coffees. Food was another 40 minutes on top of that. My friend's poached eggs looked kind of sad on a massive plate with one serve of bread, but he said they were tasty nonetheless. My chicken chermoulla sandwich was really nice, but tiny. It definitely didn't fill me up. If this place picked up its service game and worked on the timings of the food, it could actually be a decent option on Victoria Street.

I have dined and had coffee here a few times (>5) now so I could grab a sufficient sample size of my experiences at Holla. Without crapping on for too long, all I can say is this place is amazing and without a doubt one of the best cafes Richmond has to offer and in contention for best cafe in Nth Richmond. The food is always interesting. For me, if I venture out of the house I want to eat something which I normally can't be bothered to make at home be it because it is beyond my skill level or takes too much time. Holla's food menu is always on point in this regard. They also have more traditional breakfast foods like eggs on toast, avocado smash etc but that all bores me. The fact I can get hashbrowns or polenta as the starch component or have duck breast or salted cod for breakfast is a massive tick for me.<br/><br/>In addition to the awesome food, the service is great. Always super hospitable and friendly and always been super accommodating. Always up for a friendly chat and attentive to see if you are happy with food and drink while not overstepping the mark of being a haemorrhoid in your arsehole. The right balance of excellent customer service. So with all that in mind, my experiences have actually been so good I opted to utilise one of their function packages to have my 30th birthday there on a Saturday night. All my friends complimented the quality of food and drinks on hand and the night was a success all round.<br/><br/>TL;DR version. Holla is awesome. The staff are super friendly and awesome. The food is super interesting and awesome. Thank you Matt, Mitch and Josh for always looking after me and listening to the crap that comes out of my mouth when I rock up to your cafe hungover sometimes

Waiters are very friendly and efficient here, food also good. Just working in Richmond, this one should be the best coffee shop at Victoria street.
EmLou86
Top notch coffee, great breakfast. It's nice to have a big of a change from the pho joints of Victoria Street, and Holla provides that change. The Brexit breakfast has a bacon steak, a scotch egg, and relish to die for. Whoever is working the coffee machine knows what they're doing. Go check it out!

I go pretty much every week now and it never disappoints. Last time I took mum there and she had the pancakes and loved them, the poached eggs I got were cooked perfectly and the 3 sides for $9 is a great little deal. The coffee is good too, highly recommend.

This cute cafe is located on Victoria Street in Richmond. I don’t remember how I found out about this place but one morning we decided to give it a go. We were able to get a seat straight away which was great! We would’ve liked to sit outside but all the tables were full! The place is lovely, bright and inviting with tables along the left and the bar/kitchen along the right.

Hmmm the new garde of Melbourne cafes. A sustainable trend? Holla Food and Drink is truly a trend driven establishment with the scando blond wood and wire decorations and loooong thin floorplan. <br/><br/>These guys are doing the somewhat standard contemporary cafe fare of healthy Instagram type foods (matcha latte, zuchinni fritters, chia pudding) comboed with American unhealthy foods (double Burger, Reuben sandwich, fried chicken). It is this type of menu, that which aims to please all and look great whole doing it has a tendency to over promise and under deliver. These also tend to be most expensive restos and in that department Holla really delivers. <br/><br/>Sit down anywhere here, but not before told where by your waiter. It's cool, whatever, its standard. We choose to order the Burger, the zuchinni fritters and the Reuben sandwich with side of fries. The plan was 2 unhealthy dishes and one light one for the palate. Unfortunately, the fritters were just so fried and reminiscent of savoury donut. This did not hit the spot and was not to my taste but from now on I will talk soley of the Reuben and the Burger. <br/><br/>Burger: the Burger, hmm bites hard from ideas of American food without good direction. Patty is very fatty, but not in a "fat is flavour" way. Props to these guys for grinding their own meat though. Bun is ok! Priced to share. <br/><br/>Reuben: this is a standout as one of the better things here. Meat is seasoned and tasty, kraut is sour and delicious, melty and delicious cheese smothers the whole guy. Bread is crisp and buttery. This is a great examples of the toasted sandwich done right in a hospitality context. Adding fries is delicous and reccomend but I belive it takes the price to a frankly scary (approx) $25. <br/><br/>Come here if you want that Aussie cafe feel with that Aussie cafe price. Could not reccomend in good conscience, but could definitely see how this Resto would appeal to many.

I visited Victoria Street once for a reason other than Vietnamese or Korean food and regretted it immensely. It was the week Little Big Sugar Salt’s brunch sharing menu was ‘broadshat’ and we ended up waiting an hour to be seated because I am not au fait with Broadsheet’s publishing schedule and was blissfully unaware that a hundred people were trying to dine at the very same place I had chosen as my brunch spot. I vowed never again to buy into the bullshit that is waiting more than 20 minutes to be seated for brunch, particularly on Victoria Street when you can buy a bowl of pho for $10 and/or a banh mi for $5 and they’re both better than anything you’re likely to get served at a café.

BEST REUBEN SANDWICH EVER!! Very attentive, lovely & accommodating staff/service & the coffee is brilliant. A welcome cafe to Victoria St!

I'm absolutely in love with how beautiful this place and the customer service are. I'm taking advantage of the offer on Scoopon ($50 worth of food for only $25 or $100 worth of food for $50). Have had the house made potato rosti, the breakfast roll, white truffled scramble eggs, house minced Angus beef burger and MUSHROOM TOASTIE (have to capitalized since I repeat this order - my favorite dish EVER - add fries and I'm happy). Hot chocolate and mocha are nice but stay away from the MATCHA (have had this drink 3 times so trust me, don't waste your $4). I'm already planning what im going to order next time for bruch: porterhouse with a choc- peanut butter milkshake :)<br/><br/>P/s: they do have a website with the menu, but I have compared that menu and the one in the cafe, it seems there are some seasonal dishes so keep that in mind.

The girls are friendly, pity the food is really slow, and tiny tiny potion, needed a maccas run afterwards. I don't like waiting for my food for a long time, while next table came in after us, and already eating the exact food that I had ordered. I have never seen a king fish sashimi sliced this thin, and tasted blend, calamari was ok though. <br/>I don't think I would go back, simply because I don't think the food is worth what they are charging, 2 of us over $100, and maccas afterwards, really spoiled the night.

Hmmmm<br/>Trying but not getting there sorry waited an hour for dry chicken and not much of it. My friend waited the same for the burger with about 60g of Meat. <br/>Not good sham as we live around the corner love to have another good local.

Very happy with breakfast. Great scrambled eggs on toast. Cool fitout and friendly staff. I'm now keen to go back for lunch or dinner. Good stuff!

A new trendy hang out place in Richmond, just on the east side of Church Street. Lovely crisp and airy interior with lots of hanging plants. Great open plan kitchen where you can see food being freshly prepared. Their menu consists of standard fair as well as some interesting flair. <br/><br/>Good coffee and nice chai tea.<br/><br/>We were there just before mid-day Saturday and the place was almost full, and we didn't have to wait long before our food were delivered. Great service.

Went to this establishment today with a voucher, where should I start? Food, tick! Service, tick! Ambience, tick! What an enjoyable experience for our family! Will certainly go back even without any voucher deal!
San Pellegrino
A fine establishment in Richmond and notable standout. I just couldn't go past the truffle scrambled eggs and deliver they did. Staff were not only friendly, but attentive. Would I go back? Holla yeah! All up, this was one holluva experience!

Scoopon def has some excellent value for money deals and this certainly was one of them. We got a voucher for $25 to spend $50 (best part no bookings required - so no awkward feeling or fear of bad service).  We arrived on Saturday just before 1 pm for our brunch. The place seemed busy from the outside but we were glad to find a seat within 5 minutes. Started with the turmeric latte which was certainly not the best. It was very spicy and strong (too much powder). We ordered the big brekky and the baked eggs. Our order took almost 50 minutes and with twice questioning the time, there was no apologies whatsoever. Food was good (although if i had to pay full value - would certainly think twice!!). had the ice-brewed coffee which again took over 15 minutes. The service was way too slow and the food nothing special but then not bad either. I probably would return if I had the voucher.

Really enjoyed dinner here - we had a variety of share plates between two of us and everything was delicious. The waiters were lovely and gave excellent cocktail recommendations. Will be back.

Good matcha latte. Had croque sandwich, was nice and tasty. Pleasant service and nice place for food conversation with lots of light and green accents.

Stumbled across an amazing scoopon offer for Holla so decided to check it out this morning for brunch. For $25 we got $50 worth of food which was excellent value. I ordered a turmeric latte with coconut milk (definitely one of the better ones I've had in Melbourne) and the brekkie greens with a side of bacon. Despite looking very healthy the dish was actually really tasty. It came with broccolini, spinach, kale, spinach purée, seeds and two poached eggs. A nice light option for brunch.

Another newly opened, fantastic modern brunch cafe located conveniently at Victoria street. Nice vibe and friendly service. They absolutely nailed the baked eggs w chorizo, potato rosti w Manuka smoked salmon and super juicy Wagyu burger. Will be back to try more dishes. Their dry aged steak is superb and must try! Service can be slow on weekend, but worth the wait.

Really in to this place!I had a 'single origin' long black (really clean) to start.                                           They play great tunes in a space that has been well thought out and professionally finished. Great colours and very cosy. It is a much needed addition to Victoria St!                                                                        I ordered the ' 53° Tasmanian salmon, Japanese dashi, pickled shimeji mushrooms, Asian greens & soba noodles' (I chose this because it sounded really healthy and clean)                                                    That is exactly what it was! Healthy, clean & well balanced. The portion wasn't huge for the price... BUT who needs all these massive portions that seem to be trending across the Melbourne cafe scene these days. Keep the ingredients at a high quality and make sure it is interesting and well balanced as apposed to laden with flowers and fluffed out with cheap boring ingredients I SAY!                                I finished with a batch brew and a delicious gluten free cake. A perfect end.                                                    I really hope these guys kill it! They deserve to!                                                                                                              A new favourite, definitely will be back!

UPDATE<br/>New operator?<br/>Their own coffee roastery now ... JT-24/03/2018.<br/><br/>PREVIOUS<br/>VERY impressive all around ..... Holla Holla ....<br/><br/>Not often I stumbled upon a restaurant that can do breakfast, lunch and dinner well. <br/><br/>This medium size establishment along Victoria St, Richmond, Melbourne is just that. By location it's unexpected, as it stand on the esplanade of Melbournes Pho's & Vietnamese food centrum. I must say it's a welcome addition, exceptionally challenging to find a great coffee along this esplanade.<br/><br/>An "arty" kinda breakfast & lunch, taste, balance and fantastic presentation - "excelente", we've tried nearly all on the Menu - see photos. <br/>Had one of the "hottest" chilli sauce so far ..... insanity. I shouldn't add it as it ruined my Salmon and Rosti, MY MISTAKE, it should go on a burger .... :-) <br/><br/>It was a scrumptious, yummy "omakasen" (let the chef cook) Dinner menu.<br/>Fresh oysters<br/>Sardines on toast with smoked butter and green tomato salsa<br/>Housemade pork belly sausage roll with bush tomato ketchup and romesco mayonnaise<br/>450g Porterhouse steak<br/>Duck fat roast chat potatoes<br/>Radicchio salad with pecorino vinaigrette<br/>Cheese plater<br/>Just a note to the Chef ..... an interesting Pork belly sausage roll, but I would leave Pork Belly "shape" the way it is :-) Leave the Pork Belly alone ....... don't want to create an uproar with 1,3 billion Chinese.<br/><br/>I thank them for allowing us to drink our 2006 Katnook Coonawarra Cab Sauv that was "aired" earlier at home, even at a discouraging corkage charge of $40, it was needed for that Med-rare aged Porterhouse ..... match made in heaven somewhere.<br/><br/>They do have some older wines, I think it was a 2009.<br/><br/>The only suggestion that I would make, coffee; Rosso is okay but not there yet and not to wear your baseball cap while serving, although it's probably cool, Mama said it's rude.<br/><br/>SAT 29/10/2016<br/>Big Breakfast was spot on and med-rare Porterhouse  just a tad over-cooked, but good.<br/>Please add a bit more than just hand-cut chips and salsa sauce, which did't go well with the Steak, grilled big mushroom, hot mustard sauce perhaps.<br/>Coffee and Pinot Noir were perfect companion.<br/>Much enjoyable SAT brunch.<br/>Thank you.

Impressive ! We came and sampled the food with a eight course tasting menu. Oysters were great ! Steak was cooked to perfection and finished with a cheese board. Good range of choices on the menu and reasonable pricing. Recommended !!

Brilliant new food and drinks place in Richmond ... Just what we needed!😀<br/>We've been for brunch, coffee, lunch and dinner and quite honestly this place is very good. Well staffed (= prompt and good service) with energetic, enthusiastic and knowledgeable crew who are interested in you and what you would like. Some great opening specials add to the attraction.👏👏👏👏👏

Great food, great coffee, great service. Really nice to see some quality cafes popping up on Victoria St. <br/><br/>Looking forward to trying their dinner menu soon (I've heard good things about their rib eye) and sampling the selection of beers available - stone & wood, sample, pirate life, any time...someone find me a babysitter.
@forfoodiesake
Had the feed me menu at Holla and it was outstanding, minus the sardines! The red wine (shiraz from memory) was also a very nice drop. The place has a decent lighting, staff were very pleasant despite a mistake on the bill. Would recommend!

Went to Holla for dinner with family last night. Really cool, open place where you can see the chefs cooking away. All the food was amazing! The beef short rib was like butter. Never had anything like it. Service was on the money too. <br/>Looking forward to eating my way through that menu!

DO: The smoked duck salad and the potato rosti with manuka smoked salmon<br/><br/>DON'T: Forget to order the matcha or golden latte for something different. <br/><br/>TIP: They are also open for dinner with a $45 feed me menu on Tuesday and Wednesday nights ($55 other nights).

Popped in for a quick coffee, which was delicious. Staff were very friendly. Overall was a great experience and I look forward to trying more of their menu!

Went with work colleagues for brekky.. Décor rustic chic. Considering it was early morning and hardly anyone there service was slow.  Fortunately it was worth the wait, but a little pricey.

Such a cool place with great coffee. I had the burger and it was amazing and juicy which is the way I like it. I would come back just for that. <br/>Staff are really friendly and boozy milkshakes were delicious. <br/>I'll be coming back again. New regular.

My girlfriend and I had been keen to try out 'Holla' for dinner for a while now, and tonight we finally got there.<br/>When you first walk in you are welcomed by friendly staff and a great venue space, bar area is really cool and I really liked how the table areas worked.<br/>For food, we shared the 400g sirloin steak, chat posts roasted in duck fat, and winter vegetables, the meal worked well together.<br/>I look forward to coming here again and am keen to try out their breakfast options as well.

New place for brunch (+ dinner but only tried brunch so far) in Abbotsford/Richmond on Victoria St. Coffee was pretty good and food was awesome. I had truffled scrambled eggs and partner had mushroom toastie with truffled béchamel (yes, they, and we, have a bit of a truffle thing). Service was quick and pleasant and the decor and atmosphere were great. <br/><br/>Will definitely be coming back to try the rest of the menu including the shakes (some of which are alcoholic, great for a Sunday hair-of-the-dog).
Tims2929
Thought it was really nice, was a bit quiet as we had a very late lunch, however service was attentive without being OTT. Nice small bar menu. Coffee was ok but food was tasty. Had some oysters, pork belly sausage roll and burger to share. Floor guys were cool, hope they do well..

Had dinner there . Good interior, clean lines , simple & very Melbourne now . Attentive & friendly staff. Had the burger , as I wanted something fairly standard, Slightly overcooked oily meat patty with a side of slightly undercooked shoe string chips. The winter vegetables side & the sardines on toast were both okay. The apple & blueberry tart was the highlight. I'd return , but I would probably try something a little more adventurous than the burger .

Holla was super empty when we arrived at 11am so we had the freedom of selecting our seats! Their booths looked really unique so my friend and I grabbed a table there. The staff were friendly and prompt. Holla had simple and yet tasty dishes here. I had their baked eggs and it was perfectly seasoned. My friend had the potato rosti with smoked salmon and she enjoyed her dish too. Only down side to their dishes was that they weren't as filling as we thought! We left with plenty of room remaining.

Love this newly opened place. Went there for brunch on the weekend. Had the backed eggs and was positively surprised that they came with an olive dip on the side (on top of the nice bread of course). The BF had the chicken sandwich with the chips and loved it too. Interior is awesome - plenty of space which means short waiting times for tables. Food is well presented, good quality and fresh. The girls and guys serving us were super friendly and chatty. We will be back!

Had a tasty breakkie at this New opening from the original owners of prospect espresso in Camberwell (which was always awesome). This place is ~3 x the size, and offers dinner making it an ambitious new venture for service coverage and quality. While early days, they are so far keeping head above water even with the influx of trade after a broadsheet article brings in the crowds. Ambience is a positive ( bit of a modern 70's fit out vibe) with large concrete bar down the middle splitting kitchen and bar from the seating. Can perch up on the bar and watch the chefs in action. Lots of familiar favourites and some new entries on the menu. Coffee great, golden latte great. We had the white truffle scrambled, and the potato roesti with salmon. Both nice, clean offerings. Hopefully Holla becomes a reliable local for the neighborhood and gets some regular clientele as reward. Will come back in a few weeks to see how everything settles down.
Melbournian
A welcome addition to Vic street overall, which lacks brunch options (that aren't pho related). Coffee was excellent. Food was rather just OK. The baked eggs and porridge both unfortunately lacked a little in flavour. Both need a little more going on to really make them flavourful. The porridge in particular was quite bland once you got past the small amount of additions. The gluten free bread got a tick from me though. <br/><br/>Update - returned for dinner with a group and overall had a great experience. The table ordered a mixture of burgers, the 450gm steak (2 people shared), and the beef short rib, as well as sides of baby carrots, potatoes, and raddichio salad. Almost everything was great. A minor criticism the raddichio salad was just mostly salad leaf with a little dressing. For $9 it didn't seem very reasonable. I think they need to change the offering or drop the price on it as it's just not good value. <br/><br/>Other than that though, service was good and we enjoyed our food and drinks. They were also helpful with drinks recommendations.

This place is excellent and so far, an undiscovered gem.<br/><br/>The food was delicious (I had the poached eggs with braised greens) and the staff were friendly, attentive and helpful.<br/><br/>Cool fit out as well!<br/><br/>Highly recommend.

Following their success at the Prospect Espresso in Camberwell, I'm delighted that the team including Mitch and Dan have started up in Richmond. The breakfast truffled eggs are sublime and the coffee just outstanding. But now they're open in the evening as well. This will become one of the prime casual eating spots in Melbourne for sure!<br/> <br/><br/>I've been coming to Holla more or less every week since they opened and have seen them develop to the power-house eatery it is today. Yesterday, I was able to try new dishes on the menu, creations of Albert and his team. From the new angle on slow cooked lamb as a breakfast item to the new porridge with poached fig, and a delicious quinoa salad, these new additions are fresh taste explosions which will delight their existing customers as well as attract new. Well done to owners Mitch and Matt and the service team led by Az and Albert! They have also signed up the amazing Bold&Italic marketing team to promote and communicate the business - their combined success is obvious to all who visit.
