The absolute best Thai restaurant in Melbourne. I die for the twice cooked pork belly and the soft shell crab. Penny and Michelle are the best.
Highly recommend The Piano Restaurant and Bar. Every dish we ordered was excellent. Will definitely be going back.
Very tasty and fresh food. Highly recommend.lamb was super tasty. Good and quick service.affordable price.

Was a nice restaurant, came here on a weekday.
It was very quiet after work, staff were nice. We ordered a few mains, and the dishes were reasonably priced.
There was piano on the corner, and no performances the night we went.
My dad and I stopped in for an early dinner between a vfl game and an afl game and it was great! We arrived about 5:30 and they were still setting up but it got busy quick! The staff dealt with it really well though, very attentive and orders were taken quickly and meals didn’t take long! The food was very tasty and we really enjoyed each dish, available on the entertainment book too!

For any family dinner, Piano Thai is always our first preference. Been there a few times and every time came back with full satisfaction. The food is so fresh and the quality is at the top of the town. I don't miss my Thai food anymore after we discover this Restaurant. Friendly, caring staffs and Owner was also on the floor to look after every guest. Very friendly and exceptional environment. The biggest advantage they have 50+ Free Car Parking at the rear of the restaurant. So never had Parking issue even though the Restaurant is just next to the Melbourne Cricket Ground. We will come back every time we want to have Thai Food.
What a delight! the staff could not have been lovelier. the food was delicious and well priced. warm, comfy atmosphere. would definitely recommend to small or larger groups. look forward to popping in for a meal again real soon
The name Piano was not related to the Thai food but they have the best Thai food in Melbourne. The food was fresh and tasty and the service was Excellent. The Deep fried Snapper was incredible! Took us back to fabulous Thai in Sydney in the 90s, My family had steamed Barramundi and Lamb shank they different in texture and flavor. I will say the best lamb shank in Melbourne. We'll be back surely.
Came here as a result of eatclub and we're so glad we did.
The venue has a couple tables out front and a good sized indoor area with you guessed it a piano. Service was friendly and very polite.
We ordered the curry puffs, signature duck confit and whole fried snapper.
Everything was great, could not fault any of the dishes. The curry puffs were crisp, light and flavoursome. The signature duck confit was fall of the bone soft with crispy skin. Flavours were bold and delicious. The fried snapper was also delicious. Nice crispy batter and soft well cooked meat inside. The sauce it came in was also delicious. With two strong flavoured dish one did not over power the other, really well done.
Nice selection of food, good service, seating area is nice (both inside and outside). One of the dishes we ordered 'Crispy fried whole snapper' it was lovely. And of course you can play The Piano too.
This is my second time at The Piano and it is beautifully presented traditional Thai food. Initially I wanted to check it out as the chefs are ex-Longrain but the prices weren't quite Longrain levels. I've come back again because the food is exceptional.
We were in a group of four tonight and all of us were impressed. The food wasn’t too spicy which is my preference but I’m sure they could take it up a notch if you requested. Green curry was the crowd favourite today so I would definitely recommend
Original review
We caught up in a group of 5 tonight at Piano on account of it being in the entertainment book. We absolutely loved the food, the roti is beautiful and flaky and the massamum curry creamy and rich. Prawn pad Thai was my favourite dish but the vegetarian curry puffs were a strong contender. Hot tip come during happy hour for cheap and delicious cocktails
Stumbled into this little gem after the footy on a cold rainy Sunday night. The place was empty but we decided to try it anyway. We were immediately seated and watered. We ordered a mild chicken green curry for my partner, the red duck curry for me plus some roti, rice and curry puffs to start. At $75 the bill was on the steeper side for Thai but the food was beautiful. My duck had some significant heat as requested. My partner said his curry was a bit too spicy despite the mild order but that was my only fault with this restaurant. Will be back.
