I work not far from Burnley Brewing and it took me far too long to visit, but when I finally did I really enjoyed the experience.
I had the gnocchi (pan fried with pea purée, truffle oil, feta and chorizo) - it was amazing! So much flavour and the gnocchi was cooked beautifully, I loved the slight crispness to it from the pan frying.
I love the fitout of the venue as well, modern and fresh while still being very inviting.

Amazing service, excellent food, and a fun and casual vibe makes Burnley Brewing one of my absolute favourite spot for a beer and a bite. The sticky lamb ribs is my go-to dish, and they are consistently delicious each time. Rich, dark caramelised sweetness, with a deep savoury flavour, and such tender meat, these ribs will have you licking your fingers non-stop.

Been working my way through their menu each time I’m there, and my new favourite, after the lamb ribs, is the smokey cauliflower chips. Thin crunchy batter surrounds the crisp cauliflower, with smoked sweet paprika, and dipped in chipotle aioli. Just as fantastic was the tender and juicy hot chicken ribs, and the fresh and tasty seafood linguini. For the perfect beer snack, you can’t go pass the cheesy nachos.

You can’t come to Burley Brewing and not try their impressive range of brews, some limited edition ones that are not be missed. There’s definitely something for everyone here. Kids included as this place is child-friendly!

We were pleasantly surprised by our dinner here. We always drive past and it looks busy, so decided to check it out. We ordered a burger and a pizza, and both were full of flavour, but I personally loved the chili chicken pizza...the fries with the burger were also seasoned really well! It is pub food, but done really really well. Not too exxy either, and the staff were really attentive. The boys loved the sports playing in the background too. I always thought it was more of a brewery focus, but I would definitely come back for the food.

One of my go to places on bridge road, very good beers and food. This place is often busy and be ready to wait on popular timings.
Their steak, pizzas and nachos are very popular and good.
Tried stout, summer ale both were refreshing.

I visited Burnley a Brewing again on a busy Friday lunchtime for my farewell lunch from David Jones. They have plenty of long tables to accommodate larger groups and our booking for 12 was easily catered for. They had a great lunchtime specials menu with burgers and a selection of mains for $16 each. I chose the beef burger and had a pint of the summer ale, which was refreshing and only mildly bitter/ hoppy... a good choice for and easy drinking beer. Chicken burgers looked impressive and even the salad with beef looked good. Enjoyable farewell lunch.

Burnley Brewing offer Zomato gold members buy 2 and get 2 free on drinks ... perfect for that after work session.

It was the perfect afternoon for a sneaky ale and I had a wait of about an hour for a nearby booking so decided to try out the sour beers on offer at Burnley Brewing. I sampled the Mandarin Gose but this is brewed with salt water and was a little extreme for me. I ended up enjoying a Passionfruit Berlina Weisse which has a sweetness and a sourness all in one. Definitely refreshing for summer.

We were stoked to be invited to Burnley Brewing in Richmond. (Previously Romulus & Remus).

Don’t be fooled by the name though, there is a lot of great things going on here, not just the beer and bar snacks.

The interior had a range of zones for eating and we got a booth to the right. Table tennis (ping pong) at the rear give patrons the chance to work up an appetite before tucking into some flavoursome food, while the in house DJ kept the whole place buzzing with a real mix of tunes.
Outside there are tables for those wanting a little sunshine or to enjoy a beer paddle with your pooch.

Early days yet, but the beer itself in in the process of being set up to be brewed on site by a German schooled brewer. There is a huge range, I recommend ordering a tasting paddle to discover what’s on offer. I really enjoyed the fragrant and fruity saison and the dry stout with robust chocolate and an almost espresso flavour. The consensus at the table was the pale ale was cracking, we both enjoyed this one the most.

For those that are gluten intolerant, roughly half the menu is gluten free and all the pizzas can be made GF too. While beer might not be your friend they do have wine 👍🏼, a very well considered wine list. I had the express Winemakers Rose from the Margret river, it was a lovely dry rose, recommended by a staff member who was knowledgeable about the different styles of wine and extremely friendly.

For food tonight we started with calamari and lemon aioli, it was a great dish to start the night. Fresh herbs with tangly lemon aioli, the calamari was tasty and tender. We also had the sticky lamb ribs, which were fall off the bone tender with a sticky treacle sauce.

For mains we were tempted to go with some of the Romulus & Remus favourites, still on the menu, but decided to give some new items a crack. We indulged in a margherita pizza with a great tomato and herb base, not to thick and not too thin.

The pork rib eye schnitzel was chunky and the crumb had a lot of herby goodness. That combined with the delicious tasting bed of slaw and the tender cutting of the pork made for an super enjoyable meal.

Dessert was hard to say no to when we saw mini doughnuts with a chocolate dipping sauce on the menu. These cinnamon creations where so tiny, it was easy to keep popping and popping (which we did), accompanied with vanilla ice cream (and an ice magic crust) it was a great surprise that worked a treat.

A beer lovers dream, Burnley Brewing in Richmond is a top notch brewery serving up fab drinks and eats. A spacious warehouse style room is decked out with lots of timber and dark colours, but there is plenty of natural light that makes it feel very open. The beer is clearly the star here, and the bar area has a really cool vibe.

There are several great choices as far as the beer goes, and something that should please everyone. There is also wine available if you aren't a beer drinker. There is a really friendly atmosphere, and it's quite a popular place and plenty of space for large groups.

We had some delicious bar snacks that really hit the spot. The sort of salty treats that work great with beer, and some very succulent sticky ribs. The perfect thing for a leisurely afternoon. From the happy chatter around the room, and the friendly staff, Burnley Brewing is the sort of place that makes you feel welcome and relaxed, and the fantastic beer also helps!!

Any pub that solely stocks their own house brews is a special place. Each beer that Burnley puts out is superior in taste and quality given their penchant for traditional German brewing methods. I wouldn't call myself a beer purist by any means, but I would say this place is responsible for my appreciation of classic brews and brewing methods. Favourites include the dry stout, coffee brown ale, traditional lager and any fruity special that's ever been released.

There aren't tons of vegan options for food, but several veganisable ones and lots of vegetarian fare. Top reccs include the super cheesy garlic pizza (or any pizza for that matter), cannelloni, eggplant parm and broccoli salad. Like the falafel salad too but prefer it with a side of guac for extra moisture and flavour.

A great place if you love a cheeky sesh!!

This place is awesome for beer lovers, as they brew most of their beer on site!
We were able to try a beer paddle and an amazing spread of food! It's great to see the pride they take in the food they serve, they even handmade their pasta from scratch! As well as a delicious Jack Daniels honey which is served with their boneless fried chicken, droooools!!!!

BEER PADDLE:
A must! You are allowed to choose 6 flavours of their in-house brewed beer and it comes on a super cute paddle board! This is fun to do especially if there is a few of you

FOOD:
I loved the feast we were invited to enjoy! My recommendation would be to order heaps of the small plates and share, as I liked the flavours more than the main dishes!

My faves were the LAMB RIBS, ARANCINI BALLS & BONELESS FRIED CHICKEN! The seafood linguini needed a bit more sauce and the pizza was beautifully presented although I think I just prefer a red base

VENUE:
Such a big and open-spaced venue! They have fairy lights and a DJ sometimes so it has a great vibe, the outside area is small with just a few tables so I'd opt for sitting inside :)

Overall I enjoyed coming here and would definitely recommend it to others :)

Had the absolute pleasure of visiting Burnley Brewing for the first time a few weeks ago. I love going to breweries and pubs etc. - but this one was next level! Light, spacious, clean and an all-round great fit out! I loved the exposed roof and the beer tanks. Still made it feel like a brewery- just more of a modern one.

Another thing I love is beer paddles. I’m not much of a beer drinker, but whenever I see a beer paddle on a menu I order it, just because I think it’s fun to try all the different options. There were 6 beers on the paddle, and the staff came and talked us through it, plus there are detailed explanations on the menu. One of my favourites was the Vienna Lager, which was surprising as I don’t usually like the darker ones.

Now the important stuff- the FOOOOOD!! We ordered the calamari, warm mixed olives, fried chicken, and capricciosa pizza. I could not get enough of the calamari – it was so moreish, I could’ve eaten the whole bowl. The combination of the sliced pickles with the fried chicken was a match made in heaven. The chicken was cooked to perfection; crunchy, and not dry. My favourite would have to have been the pizza though. It had a nice generous base, covered with good quality ingredients and plenty of delicious cheese!

All in all a really fun and enjoyable experience. A nice venue with great staff and delicious food and beverages. Thankyou for having us!

Burnley Brewing is located on Bridge Road Burnley, Richmond. I’m definitely not a beer connoisseur but was excited to be invited the check out their craft beers. We weren’t really sure what to expect, saw some tables out the front & walked inside. The space is really impressive! High ceilings in a warehouse type space with the shiny brewing tanks & equipment on display. Quite a chic fitout with booths down one side as well as ample tables it also includes a table tennis tables & tvs so Melbourne’s avid sports fans can watch their teams compete.

We opted for a beer paddle so that we could sample some of the large range of beers. We were impressed with the staff knowledge & detail of each of the beers & happily made the way around our paddle. The salted peach witbier was a favourite as was the coffee brown ale. Fascinating to read the information about each brew & try to identify some of the flavours.

Food to go with our paddle seemed essential & it was tough to pick from the great range of sharing/beer food. We decided on the calamari, which was lightly fried & served with herbed aioli, fresh & delicious. The warm mixed olives with herbs & chilli was the perfect beer snack. We also tried the fried chicken, southern spiced with pickles, aioli & honey, this was sensational, the combination packed with flavour.

It also seemed appropriate to share a pizza to go with our beers & went with the capricciosa. When it arrived at the table we both swooned a bit. The smell was incredible & it was visually impressive. A perfect crust but it was the quality of the ingredients that blew us away. One of the best pizzas I’ve had in a long time.

What a fantastic place! We went in thinking beer would be the focus but were equally in awe of the food. An extensive menu, friendly knowledgeable staff, a venue with a great atmosphere & set up and of course, beer. Thanks so much for having us.

It was a great pleasure to be introduced to this awesome brewery during their 1st Birthday party! Not a massive beer drinker, I brought along my partner who is 80% made up of beer in my opinion. The venue is really trendy, you are surrounded by their brewery which really creates an awesome environment to drink and eat with family and friends! The food is also very good, and you wouldn’t expect it. It’s like a gastro styled menu that incorporates a lot of pub and Italian dishes. We enjoyed the Arancini balls, prosciutto pizza, meatballs and nachos. All dishes were delicious! The beer also was great. I loved their ginger beer plus they have an amazing cucumber infused beer. This is so good! If you don’t like a strong beer, this is for you! Make sure to check these guys out!

My first time visiting a brewery and I was not disappointed. This place is seriously cool! You can see the massive vats and the staff are genuinely passionate about the beer and brewing process. Jess was wonderful and put together a great tasting paddle, I thoroughly enjoyed the ginger one and the coffee one was so interesting, and seriously cool!

We ordered the arancini, gnocchi and chilli chicken pizza. I can not fault the meal at all, great classic dishes. The gnocchi is hand rolled and made on site, the pizza crispy and a great size and those arancini were bursting with flavour.

I really enjoyed my visit, I can’t wait to head back and try more of the beers! Oh, the passionfruit beer was another standout!

Under the guidance of head brewer Michael Stanzel (the first Australian to attain the prestigious Brewer and Maltster apprenticeship accreditation exclusive to the German brewing scene), the team is killing it on the beer front. Thinks floral-forward late-hopped West Coast-style IPA. Fruity and punchy yet mildly bitter Saison and classic German style pilsners with a crisp and clean finish.

The food menu is not to be outshone.  A common problem with breweries is that often the food offering isn’t quite strong but this is not the case here. The kitchen team from well-loved Romulus and Remus remains at this new incarnation to great effect. Top picks from the menu include the Crispy gnocchi, peas and chorizo - think pillow soft gnocchi with a crisp exterior served with a luxurious pea puree sauce and spicy, smokey chorizo. For mains the open lasagne is a stunner. Beautifully al dente sheets of pasta are layered between rich beef and pork ragu. For meat lovers, we recommend the bang for your buck Porterhouse steak (cooked to your liking) served with duck fat spuds, green beans and jus.

Burnley Brewing is still in its first year of operations but based on the experience The Dear Luncher had last week – it will be the first year of many. You don’t need to be a beer lover to enjoy your time at this venue, but it helps. It’s also a fact that drinking beer makes you live a longer and healthier life*. Burnley Brewing’s motto #ForwardDrinking is an incredibly useful play on words.

Had a group dinner a while ago for a birthday on a busy Saturday night. All the meals were delicious, the vibe of the place was fun and relaxed and service was excellent.

Only negative was one staff member behind the bar was incredibly rude (hence the 4 stars) as he made us feel like an inconvenience by ordering drinks. The rest of the staff were lovely however and one bartender took the time to talk to my dad about a couple of the beers flavours and let him try them :) looking forward to coming back!

Have been there a number of times... Sunday arvo, Friday and Saturday nights... with Codalicious, with a group... it’s a versatile place. Good variety of beers (and a lager for those, like me, who don’t rate IPAs etc). Pretty fully priced. The food is a good mixture of Italian and pub meals. Good for sharing or individual meals. Worth a visit.

Beer, food and a little slice of education - Bridge Road’s newest urban brewery is an all-inclusive hub that’s already a hit with the locals. Formerly an Italian restaurant called Romulus and Remus, Burnley Brewing marries two of life’s greatest joys – beer and pizza.

The Burnley offers a unique range of beer styles from all over the world, and Cicerone-certified bar staff are eager to educate their patrons on their brews too. Beer is made fresh from the 10 taps connected straight to the tanks, so no oxygen, light or heat can impair your crisp hops and malts. And if you’re not a beer buff, you can peruse the quality drops from their curated wine list, with by-the-glass options as well as Aussie and international spirits.

Maintaining the preceding theme, the menu serves up authentic Italian cuisine, from stone-fired pizzas to hand-made pasta. I highly recommend the pumpkin pizza and chorizo and pea gnocchi! Beer snacks and bites are also available for a casual session watching the footy or after-work drinks. The Burnley’s contemporary pub scene welcomes all Melburnians who appreciate good food and bevs – from Richmond locals and sport enthusiasts, to families and foodies.

Came in after a footy game with some family and loved the atmosphere and feel of the place. We had a booth because of the size of our group and the girl looking after us was amazing. After a cheeky tester of their new coffee brown ale I was hooked on trying as many as I could of their drinks (and will have to go back for more). With a reasonably priced menu they cover all the pub classics as well as churning out some deliciously cooked pizzas. My southern fried chicken burger was also full of flavour and I’d have it again! Definitely a great spot to kick off a session or enjoy dinner with a group - check it out!

We’ve been meaning to get to Burnley Brewing since it opened and finally made it there for lunch today. We were a group of 5 and were seated at one of the banquettes. Really nice space. We started with the beer paddles. I have to say I’m not a huge beer drinker, but really enjoyed the Saison. We ordered a selection of beer food. The zucchini and Gorgonzola arancini were crispy and tasty, the calamari was good, the sticky lamb ribs and fried chicken wings were great. The meatballs however were not hot enough and my least favourite. The house baked bread and garlic pizza were also lovely and the fries were hot and crispy. We were served by a very helpful, pleasant woman and finished with really decent coffees. We were all happy.. Cheers!

What a cool and trendy Brewery in Richmond. I loved the vibe the moment moved in. Its trendy and the service is on point. Started with the beer tasting which was a combination of some great beers. Tried a few starters which were all so well prepared and matched the beers. For the main the open lasagne was well executed and ended with some great dessert. A spacious and new brewery styled Australian restaurant, Burnley Brewing is decorated with an amazing timber aesthetic, featuring a table tennis table in the back, as well as huge brewery urns at the front for their house made beers. They have a delicious menu, with a range of different cuisines – and a slight Italian feature as it was previously an Italian restaurant. Wooden booths line the sides for more of a intimate affair.

Walked in and was greeted warmly by   Chloe the manager who was super knowledgeable.

Enjoyed the experience we ordered the
Beers which are all good example of their styles which were reasonable and traditional offer. Now as a suprise the
Wine list is fantastic so this place is just not just for the beer lovers. Also the team are working on great whisky offering too!

The atmosphere was lovely and comfy and the menu had variety and well rounded.

We started off with the beer paddle and they good examples of their styles. The saisson was my favourite.
For starters we had the crispy fried chicken which was my favourite for the night as it was  super crunchy.  Along with the arancini was full of flavour with the subtle taste of gorgonzola was suprisingly good. The lamb ribs were not as tender and a little too sweet for my taste but super sticky.

For mains the margherita pizza tasted more traditional then it looked. We were also asked to try the open lasagna which was fantastic and full of flavour.
I will be back for the pork schnitzel though.

In dessert partnership with Piccolina we tried their beer flavoured ice cream collaboration which was cider sorbet and chocolate stout which was great innovation. Thanks for the invitation.

The first impression I had for this newly established brewery/ bar/ restaurant was how fun and spacious it was ! I love the incorporation of the table tennis tables as it really brings a " cool factor" and point of difference to this establishment

When I went there was a function going on so the staff were quite busy but I was surprised to find the service was still great. It was not as quick as I am use to at other places but having known there was a special occasion going on I was quite pleased.

We started off with the beer paddle which included beers that they brewed themselves . The beers although I am not a beer drinker were not bad ( this is a compliment in itself as I usually gag when I drink beer ) my partner on the other hand loved it, which unfortunately for me, made me deso driver .

The food was a typical beer food menu but it was a lot more exceptional than your standard pub food. The highlight were probably the sticky lamb ribs , If I could go back I would probably opt for an eat until I'm full off ribs type of dinner as they were damn good. We also had the southern fried chicken which was flavorsome with one of the best dipping sauces ( blue cheese perhaps ? ) For mains we got the schnitzel and the seafood pasta which were both yum! Lastly we ended the night with sticky date pudding which was a great end to the night. The only suggestion is to make it more smaller or add more butterscotch sauce as there was not enough to moisten up the entire pudding

Points for: refreshing & distinctly different brews, family-oriented space
Dine Time: Sunday lunch

When you step into the brewery, first thing you notice is how much space there is.
There are lots of large tables and booths available with enough space in between to almost make it feel private.
There is also a table tennis table, which is great for a friendly hit-up.

The beers are actually very refreshing and easily drinkable. What’s impressive is that each one has its own distinct flavour and aroma.
A great way to sample everything is through the tasting paddle, where you’ll work your way through the lightest to strongest beers.
Now I get everyone will have different preference in beers, and I’m not exactly a beer connoisseur, but this is what I found:
Saison: easy to drink, light and refreshing
Pilsner: very refreshing, with a bit more “body” than the Saison
Pale Ale: aroma on this was incredible, with fruity scents hitting your nose even before your lips touch the glass. Probably my favourite.
West Coast IPA: this didn’t really have any distinct character for me. A little more bitter and harder to drink.
Double IPA: Quite strong at 9.5%, might take a while to get through.
Dry Stout: I’m not a stout drinker but this was actually delicious. You can definitely taste the chocolate, and almost coffee as well. It's almost like a beer espresso martini.

The food menu pairs pretty well with the beer and swings more to the modern Italian style.
Zucchini and gorgonzola arancini balls were as delicious as they sound. The small balls were finely breaded and fried crispy - the funk of the gorgonzola is light but you still get the taste. Awesome.
Porterhouse was ordered medium-rare, and the chefs cooked it perfectly. Still lightly pink and juicy in the middle, it was a fine example of a steak.
Gnocchi had the bite I was looking for and was also pan-fried crispy, so it had a medley of textures. Paired really well with smashed peas and chorizo.
Finished off with mini donuts with chocolate dipping sauce. These were just deep fried bits of dough rolled in cinnamon sugar. Probably could’ve skipped it because we were already rolling at this point.

Thank you to the warm and hospitable staff for inviting me, and providing an informative overview of the beers and tanks being used.
I did visit again with a larger group of friends, and service was still genuinely friendly, as expected.

As a brewery, Burnley Brewing definitely excels at pouring an excellent variety of tasty and scrumptious beers, catering to a wide range of palates by offering many interesting flavour profiles which are bound to satisfy any picking.

While the food menu was tempting and did initially seem rather promising, the execution could definitely do with some refinement. The beer themselves though, were nothing short of phenomenal.

Our party of three loved Burnley Brewing! We were warmly greeted on arrival and shown to a great booth at the front of the restaurant. The restaurant itself is spacious, airy and bright with good distance between tables, always a good thing. It’s a lovely space.

This is a brewhouse so we started with a beer paddle. The beers are seriously good here with lots of variety. I particularly liked the pilsner and the west coast IPA. But, best of all is the double IPA which is a really superb beer with a rich playful flavour. I had a glass of this brew with the meal. It’s a great beer.

We had sharing dishes throughout. The list was meatballs and house baked bread, zucchini and gorgonzola arancini with aioli, calamari and lemon aioli, southern fried chicken wings, garlic pizza, onion rings, green salad and sticky lamb ribs. It’s hard to choose favourites. We loved each one of these fun dishes. But, the sticky lamb ribs are extraordinary as noted by other reviewers. Absolute melt in the mouth loveliness. They’re a must do here.

We spent a very happy couple of hours here quietly eating, drinking and chatting on a cool day in Melbourne. It was extremely pleasant. Our thanks to the lovely Chloe for taking care of us so well from start to finish. What a delightful person. She’s at hospitality best practice.

We had a great time here. I’d like to give Burnley Brewing a 4.5, but the app and website doesn’t allow half marks. A 4 is too low so it therefore has to be a 5.

(Our sincere thanks to Burnley Brewing for their invitation to dine here. We loved it!)

I was lucky to be invited to dine as a guest at Burnley Brewing.
We were served by Courtney who was welcoming, attentive, warm and very helpful. Always with a smile.
The beers are brewed in-house and are designed to compliment the food. Unfortunately I don’t drink but my partner ordered the pale ale which to me smelt like passionfruit. He thoroughly enjoyed it and said it was dry, fruity and delicious.
For starters, we ordered the hot chicken wings, the sticky lamb ribs and the antipasto platter that was on special. First off, we were worried that the antipasto platter would be too much for 2 people, so Courtney asked the kitchen to make a smaller serve of it for us. It was perfect. Everything on the platter complimented each other and the pate was to die for (if you love pate like me).
The hot chicken wings were smokey and spicy. The only critique is that it was a teeny bit dry on the inside, but still more-ish.
The lamb ribs were ridiculously good - gorgeously fatty, falling off the bone and melt-in-the-mouth. A must order when you visit.
For mains we had the seafood linguini and the chilli chicken pizza. The chicken on the pizza was smokey and tender (I would have liked more chilli on it because I couldn’t taste much of it) and I loved that the pizza base was super thin and crispy and there was tons of stretchy cheese on it.
The seafood linguine was packed with seafood. The pasta was al dente and the seafood was cooked well. I could drink the sauce it was so delicious.
The place is really clean and chill and I was so grateful the music was great and at a good volume so I could hear myself speak.
They have an awesome table tennis table so you can play some ping pong if you like!
My biggest regret was that I didn’t get a chance to try their desserts because the portions were so generous we were too full. But I will definitely be back to try other things on the menu!

The team at Burnley Brewing invited me and a friend to come down and check out their new space, grab a bite and drink. The place caters to all age groups as well as being family friendly. You've got a bit of a modern industrial feel to it with the large beer vats as well as a corner for table tennis, to be replaced with more brewing apparatus in the future so they can brew more varieties for customers.

We got a beer paddle so we could taste a majority of the beers they had available, skipping out on the dry stout. Pale ale was my favourite with it's fruity notes closely followed by the Vienna lager. The pilsner was too bubbly and crisp and the double IPA (at 9.5% AVB) was too potent for my preference. Beer is pretty personal and it was fun sampling them all.

As for food, I've read that everyone raves on about their lamb ribs so naturally we had to try them. I love lamb and this is no exception, it was sticky and sweet with the perfect ratio of fat and meat. You just can't beat the flavour of lamb fat. Probably the best lamb ribs I've had, ever.

We also got onion rings because I do love my onion rings. They were perfectly constructed, crispy and not heavy at all on the batter. It was accompanied with their smokey barbeque sauce, may be the best onion rings I've ever had also.

Their southern fried chicken wings were nice and succulent and coated with their blend of seasoning, awesome finger food to go with your beer. It was served with some type of cheese/garlic dipping sauce to neutralize the saltiness.

The open lasagne took us by surprise with it's tender ragu and parmesan chip all on top of a stack of pasta sheets. Dish wasn't that heavy as there was little to no cheese but rather a tasty tomato sauce.

We had barely any room left but there was one thing left to try, mini donuts. This came with a scoop of vanilla ice cream with chocolate poured all over it. Remember ice magic? We had to crack the shell to get to the ice cream. They paired well together and was enjoyable, though I do like my mini doughnuts chewier.

Overall a smashing venue and if the quality of food is consistent with the rest of the menu I'd find it hard to fault this place. Special mention to the staff who were enthusiastic and passionate about sharing their vision.

I was lucky enough to be invited to Burnley brewing on Friday night which was Romulus and Remus in a previous life. Reinvented as more of a brewery with an equal focus on wines, it has a fun casual atmosphere boasting both a ping pong table and a dj. The head brewer has exclusive credentials meaning you’re in for quite an experience if you are a beer drinker. We started with the paddle which featured a range from ales, pilsners and lagers. If you are a beer novice however the staff are well versed to talk you through your options.
We ordered the lamb ribs and calamari to start as well as the hot wings. I stayed away from the wings not being a huge fan of spice but thoroughly enjoyed the sticky sauce of the ribs. The calamari was plentiful but perhaps a little oily. Definitely very tender though.
For mains we ordered the Margherita pizza and the eggplant parmigiana. Again a bit oily on the eggplant but the pizza was utterly delicious. A good oregano flavour and a perfect base.
My highlight of the evening was the sticky date pudding with the deliciously rich caramel sauce. The mini donuts for me were a little too mini which made them quite hard and not what I had expected from the word donut. If you like your donuts crunchy give this dish a go. Overall a friendly relaxed type of place with a great philosophy; drink better, live better, build connections, make memories and relax. Words to live by no doubt

The taphouse of independent brewing operation Burnley Brewing, The Burnley, opened on November 24 2017, bringing fresh house-brewed beer and relaxed gastropub fare to locals, families and beer enthusiasts alike. Welcoming new head brewer Michael Stanzel, the first and only Australian to attain the Brewer and Maltster apprenticeship accreditation exclusive to the German brewing scene, the Burnley team is setting the bar high when it comes to unique beers.

What a lovely place to go on a summers day. 3 things I love about this place; spacious and well-lit interior, friendly staff and AMAZING beer. Don't forget the food, that's fantastic too. The staff know what they are talking about when it comes to helping with beer choice and I was very happy with their picks. I had the Vienna Lager and Pilsner, both were extremely nice! Accompany your beers with the Beef and pork ragu open lasagne and you're onto a winner. Would definitely recommend bringing your friends here!

Checked out this new brewpub last night with some friends. Really nice fit out, has a friendly feel to it! Staff are all lovely and extremely helpful especially when it comes to trying out the beers which are all brewed by them! I tried the nachos, eggplant parmigiana and eggplant pizza, my friends also tried the steak salad, lasagne and gnocchi. Nachos were awesome, just the right amount of spiciness! Parma and pizza were both really tasty as well. My friends all loved their dishes too, the gnocchi in particular looked amazing. We also tried the aranchini balls which were crispy on the outside and delicious on the inside. My partner really enjoyed all the beers he tried and the sparkling wine I had was great too. Sticky date pudding for dessert is a must 😍🤤 so moist and the vanilla bean ice cream is delicious.

Burnley Brewing is the newest brewery to hit Richmond and occupies the site formerly home to Italian restaurant Romulus & Remus. It’s owned by Renton Carlyle-Taylor, Neil Mills and Phil Gijsbers who bring a wealth of hospitality experience to the venture, along with a genuine passion for good beer.

There can never be enough breweries. This is one statement that all my beer loving friends would wholeheartedly agree with.

Craft brewing has been exploding for years and like an extended fireworks display I don’t think we’ve seen the best of it yet. In recent weeks I’ve been to Mountain Goat in Richmond, and both Temple Brewing and Foreigner Brewing out Brunswick way. A few days ago I had a Stomping Ground pale ale at Canteen Pizza in Cottesloe on the other side of the country from where it is made in small batches in Collingwood!

The latest brewery to land in Richmond (well, the Burnley part at least) is Burnley Brewing on Bridge Road down the Yarra end. After a reasonably extensive renovation of the old Romulus and Remus site, BB took over but kept the R&R kitchen, along with its focus on Italian.

Loved the pizza here, and all the beers I tried were delicious. There's a cool relaxed atmosphere that made it a great place to visit. The only negative is it's a bit out of the way for me, but I'd still love to come back.

I wish I could give this place 6/5. The beers are sensational, always innovating with the new flavours coming out! Food is delectable. From living in Richmond years ago, it's still a favourite destination to come back to. Super friendly staff and always happy to talk about your childhood :)

Great place to try different types of beers. The tasting was $19 of 6 beers variety. The food is good, they have chicken Parma, pizzas, burgers and more to share. Despite the waiter didn't have a good customer service, the place is really good to share with friends or family

Discovered this gem during lockdown ($10 take away long necks!!) and revisited for their great beer! A great selection on tap which changes regularly. I'm going to sound like I'm getting old (36 years young) but I really liked this place because not only is the beer interesting and delicious, but the place wasn't too dark at night, the music wasn't too loud so you could still have a conversation without sitting and even though it was busy, there wasn't a lineat the bar! This is a mid 30's persons' dream!
