Review Laikon Deli - Richmond

Federica “Fedetax” Tassini
What a gem of a Deli on Bridge Road! Beautiful set up and décor, great selection of charcuterie, cheese, fresh pasta and delicious fresh food. Great place for brunch too. Must try: the fried gnocchi. Lovely staff and cosy atmosphere. Recommended!

We have ordered ravioli, which was half cooked. The other dish was fine bit bread was very normal. It's a big disappointment to get half Cooked food. I am still giving 3 start for the taste and interior.

This place is a slice of heaven on Bridge Rd! And once you walk in there is just so much deliciousness all around you! Staff are super friendly but I must mention that the girl who served me got both my drink and food order wrong. I didn’t mention the coffee as it was something minor however I did order a ham and cheese croissant and got a ham and cheese sandwich instead. She offered to fix the issue but I didn’t want the food to waste and by the time she would have fixed it, I’d have to go. This hasn’t changed my view on this place! I highly recommend it and the cured meats are serious temptations! Pup friendly as they have a front outdoor area. Will definitely be back!

I had a coffee from here and I was surprised at what they have to offer as a deli! This has become a standard meetup spot with friends because they have a good range of lunch options and cafe treats, so there's something for everyone. Friendly and attentive staff, what more could you ask for?

Purchased a bottle of red wine at Laikon Deli for $38. Found out later by a friend that it was available at many other retail shops for $20. I can understand marking up items but not by 100%

I always look forward to the opportunity to visit Laikon deli. The consistency in the quality of coffee and food is a standout on a competitive strip of Richmond.

Great deli. Excellent service when dining in. Fantastic place to sit and eat pasta at a street-side table. Brought the dog, who was fondly welcomed by the staff.

Really good breakfasts and an amazing deli section. Something for everyone on the menu whether its healthy or splurge items. Really yum. We go quite often - recommend!

Classy spot. Nice open space with a lovely menu, good wines, gorgeous sound system, and a deli right there on the spot. It’s special. Well worth a visit.

First time trying Laikon Deli today and we are seriously impressed!! Amazing food.. one of the best breakfast we have had out in a LONG time! I had the saganaki with smashed peas & fiancé had smoked salmon with greens! Quality, taste and service 10/10! We will be back!

Excellent spot for brunch on bridge Rd. Service is super friendly and menu is extensive. They also have a fantastic deli with a range of goodies available for purchase. I ordered the chilli scrambled eggs which came with ricotta and salami. A great spin on a brunch staple. Generous portion sizes too. Can’t wait to visit again.

I was told this was a great deli and once I entered, I knew I'd found something special. You can find a wonderful mixture of deli items and more. Found the range of cheeses excellent. The coffee was pretty good too. You won't be disappointed. Service was great and the staff were extremely helpful. I asked what one of the hams was like and let me have a 'try before I buy'. Prices are pretty reasonable but a tad on the higher side but for that you get the service and the wonderful range of products.

Kids welcome. Food for those with dietaries is easily catered for. Wheelchair and disability friendly. Parking isn't too bad, just watch those signs as the inspectors are pretty quick here.

Pros: attentive and very speedy service, food was tasty (we had the baked beans and poached eggs). Cons: small portion sizes, oI felt very rushed and people were running around even though it wasn’t that busy. Baked beans were broadbeans which should have been specified on the menu

From the first step through the door you have to be impressed with this deli cum cafe.
Friendly smiles and very efficient service.
Plenty to choose from in the display cabinets, a short specials board and a well thought menu gives you plenty of options.
Coffee is good. Breakfasts fantastic quality and value.
Wines too!

Today I had a coffee here. This place has expanded as it used to be a small deli but they have now taken over the other shop.

Now it's a light bright European style deli w a cafe serving some good coffee and a range of rolls and pastries.

It's a comfortable space w it's exposed brick on some walls.

The service was attentive and my strong skinny latte was really good. Just delicious. In enjoyed the flavour of the coffee and it was really well made.

If your on Bridge Road I can recommend this place.
On The Chopping Board
It feels like salumi boards, grazing platters and cheese plates have become all the rage lately. Obviously, we've been enjoying them as an appetiser for years however with the rise of social media they're getting more attractive and therefore, more on trend. When looking for the perfect products to lay on your wooden chopping board I (Christina) suggest Laikon Delicatessen and here is proof.

> Breakfast Brioche bun with free range bacon, fried egg, provolone dolce, HP sauce | @laikondeli <

Laikon Deli is a small deli/cafe in the heart of Richmond. With fresh produce and amazing service, you cannot go wrong with dining here. This breakfast burger is something you cannot go wrong with. It is perfect to satisfy any needs and is extremely filling. The bun was crispy and sweet, which contrasted the salty flavours of the bacon. The fried egg was the right level of gooeyness so you will not get your hands too messy but you will still have the satisfaction of the textures. Overall, I would definitely go back for this burger because it was pretty amazing, and I do recommend giving it a try!

The breakfastpiggy team
Piggies out, Oink oink 🐷🐷
.
.
.
#breakfastpiggy #foodpics #breakfast #brunch #hungry #food #foodporn #delicious #happiness #foodheaven #nomnom #foodventures #foodie #foodobsession #foodgasm #eating #fooddiary #foodstagram #healthy #instafood #dessert #cake #coffee #cafe #culture #coffeelover #weekend #goodfood #Melbourne #Australia

> Saganaki, avocado, poached eggs, black sesame seeds on toast | @laikondeli <

When I saw this dish on the menu I was very intrigued by the concept. A very basic meal but you cannot go wrong with the classic faves. It was the perfect combination of flavours and it was quite a filling dish. As a deconstructed meal this was a very interesting concept that surprisingly worked well together. If you’re a fan of these elements I would suggest giving it a try.

The breakfastpiggy team
Piggies out, Oink oink 🐷🐷
.
.
.
#breakfastpiggy #foodpics #breakfast #brunch #hungry #food #foodporn #delicious #happiness #foodheaven #nomnom #foodventures #foodie #foodobsession #foodgasm #eating #fooddiary #foodstagram #healthy #instafood #dessert #cake #coffee #cafe #culture #coffeelover #weekend #goodfood #Melbourne #Australia

> Barley bruschetta, tomato, fetta, oregano | @laikondeli <

Another deconstructed dish that is basic but very satisfying. With fresh ingredients and a lot of it too, you’ll be extremely satisfied with the outcome of your experience. Fresh deli produce turned into a delicious characterurie board or brunch dish- what more could you want! Their coffee is fantastic too and their passion and service is top notch! The chilli olive and sun dried tomato dip is a must as well as their baked beans and smoked salmon! We’d be surprised if you didn’t take something home too!

Great place!! Service is friendly and fast, really top notch service. Food was lovely as well, both meals very tasty. The cheesy toast with poached eggs great as were the beans. Great coffee as well. Good spot to get some good produce as well, will be back. (Not open Sundays makes it hard to get to though)

7 years I’ve been wanting to go here but never got around to it... doesn’t help that it’s not open Sunday but finally got there. Menu is excellent and has a bunch of good stuff. Had the chilli scrambleds which were amazing. Great portion size, flavours excellent and the toast was unbelievable. Great place to get a loaf of bread or cheese, ham etc in the deli. Great produce sold and also used by them. Get there if you haven’t.

My sister insists I buy her their taramasalata and olives. They have the best Greek dips, a wonderful range of excellent cheeses and deli meats, plus great bread and a host of other delicacies such as the chunks of chocolate halva and the pomegranate turkish delight.
All the prepared foods such as the little cakes, salads and spanakopita are delicious.
Staff are knowledgeable and friendly.
Good products, but now massively overpriced. Have been coming here for years, as the products are great and service friendly. However they've been steadily jacking up their prices to the point where it's now a complete rip off. I benchmarked their San Daniele proscuitto - $90 per kg compared to $49 for the identical product at Mediterranean Wholesalers! $18 for 320g of olives and 210g of Free range ham was the last straw and I think we will boycott this place for all but bread and coffee (prices are reasonable here as it's harder to get away with overcharging). Issue is the lack of competition on Bridge road - will try Leo's in Kew instead.

Came here for a takeaway coffee and was very impressed. My friends say I'm a little bit of a coffee snob but I would be happy to come here again.

Johns coffee is a super treat post gym, for a sensational cheese selection and wonderfully delicious hand made on the premises take away treats - both sweet and savoury. John has excellent knowledge of each product in Laikon

One of melbournes best and family run and operated. This delicatessen offers great knowledge, service, food and coffee and is right in the heart of Richmond and has fantastic parking as well. Make sure you add it to your inner east location shopping plans, and make sure you have a coffee and take your time to investigate the heavily packed shelves.

Food shopping at Laikon Deli is like walking into a candy store. Even though it's quite small but it's packed with goodies. I've bought so many lovely things here - from olive oil, canned goods, pasta to cheese, ham and marinated olives. There is nothing here that does not taste good. I didn't have shopping list, which was very very dangerous, but I managed to control myself and not buy everything in the shop. I found a really nice looking fresh ravioli with broccolini, ricotta and lemon zest. These, together with some leftovers, make a really good meal. I cooked half of the pasta and reheated some leftover meatballs for lunch. The pasta was freshly made and the ricotta filling was light and not too salty. That burst of lemon zest ties all the flavours together. I can make this mixture next time and top it on lasagna instead of the usual bechamel sauce with spinach. I thoroughly enjoyed this simple meal. I think it took 5 minutes to make. Even if I don't have any leftover meatballs, I

Laikon Delicatessen on Bridge Road for their mouth-watering selection of gourmet treats. The third generation deli has a counter full of cheeses, cured hams and antipasto. The Reuben sandwich comes highly recommended – bursting with thick chunks of corned beef, Swiss cheese and zesty sauerkraut on rye. One of Richmond’s hidden treasures.

Best deli around. John's coffees are great and Eirini's service is a treat. Great brekky and lunch food plus an excellent array of fine deli treats.
Tallyho
Awesome Sandwiches. Amazing selection of continental european treats available. And the coffee is the best in Richmond.
Chips_Dumplings
Agathos. Great deli items. Wanted to buy all the fresh produce in the shop. Felt like a kid in a toy store when looking at the range of cheeses. Mouth watering.

Best Deli this side of town, excellent presentation, music, quality small goods,on the downside it doesn't have a lot of seating space so its mainly catering to take away, worthwhile a visit if you are in Bridge Road.

Walked past many times, years ago. It only took one visit to hook me. This us a stunning Deli with all the hallmarks of a true family business. The 3rd generation is now in charge. Tasty food, great choices, lots of home-made goodies, footpath seating, friendly staff and immeasurable types of deli items. Nothing is too much trouble. Pick up a coffee while there.

As part of this year's Melbourne Food and wine festival. A Global Gathering is all out foodie event which is spread out all over Bridge Road. From free food to $5-$10 tasting plates there is something to please everyone. Even the pickiest of eaters. There was free face painting for the kids. My four stamps Free popcorn Free face painting It is only a short tram ride away from the city. At the Information hubs we collected our passports and stamp form and off we went. If you got four stamps like we did then you would be in the running to win a SMEG kitchen pack from Harvey Norman, which leads us to our first stop for free food. 1) Harvey Norman Harvey Norman offered free chippolatas and tastings of their stir fry. We couldn't stay long but they did offer free cooking classes and the bake off at 12pm. I really loved that sweetness in the stir fry and the onions. The sales rep from SMEG said it was 4 mins to make the stir fry and it worked a treat.
