Review Hollywood Hill - Richmond

Two Sheds
3.4 and could go higher. Surprisingly spacious cafe on Bridge Road with a rather grand name. There’s little that’s Hollywood about it and a couple of old movie star pics on the wall can’t change that. It’s a Greek cafe and not a bad one by the looks of it. The food looked pretty good and I’ll confirm that on my next visit. My long black here today was an admirable one. Certainly as good as the one at the more highly fancied Fifty Acres up the road. Service was quick, efficient and amiable. I have a good feeling about this place and will come back in the future.

Nice relaxing atmosphere, staff are very friendly and easy to get along with. Meals are good value, cost and size wise, will definitely come back. Thank you

Love this restaurant for dining or take away (delivery) very friendly staff. And cheap price. I love their lamb souvlaki is the best. But one, you need to make sure that they take your order properly. It's been twice they forget the details of our order. Like we as for penne they make it with spaghetti instead or to put chili on your order.

I used to look at this place everytime I went home, It is very near to my place but I had never been there. This saturday late at night I was hungry and decided to try it out. The area that they have is huge. Its very spacious, seating is nice and it has pretty comfortable feel to it. The service was nice and quick. Smiles floating around all over the place which is always nice to see. I ordered a HSP. There were a few things different about the HSP. First of all they have only one size which costs $17.50 which for me is on the higher side. Then don't put Garlic sauce on top, it is Tatziki which makes a very big difference (good difference). Then taste wise the HSP is amazing. Every element of the HSP was fresh and juicy. Chips were cooked fresh, lamb and chicken were cut fresh from the spit, Sauces were put on generously, and the cheese had melted between the chips and the meat. So it was a very good plate of HSP. Next day I went back to get an HSP for take away, which was even better.. :D I can comfortably say that they have one of the best HSP that i have had till now.

Very good quality food, especially in a 24hour offering

HSP wouldn't even fill a small child, and for that price it's laughable

Thanks for hosting our team’s Christmas dinner. Short notice, 25 people, set up an area for us that looked fantastic on the night. Took care of our every need. Fast service, great food and extremely accessible prices. We appreciate it a great deal.

Perfect in every way. Amazing customer service. The food was the best I have ever eaten. Will 100% be back as soon as I can. I will also be telling everyone that it's a must to come here. Thanks again

Love this place, this is my go to for weekend recovery food. Highly recommend the chicken Parma, hamburgers, moussaka, pasta, and the best bit Ubereats delivers

Absolutely love this place. The staff are always friendly, the food is always plentiful, and it’s open all hours.

It’s a bit like going to a Greek uncle’s house for dinner. Very welcoming, lotsa good home cooked food, and you can sit and chat as long as you want without getting the “oi! Buy something or sod off!” Looks from the staff :)

Haven’t been here since its change of name from Hollywood Palace to Hollywood Hill. But the memories of the best souvlaki in town had me bring a friend.

Alas I was disappointed. The bread wasn’t the usual thin bread, no tomato, too much onion and the meat was a little grissly.

The staff are lovely, very helpful and eager to please.

Toilets weren’t great with the ladies not having a seat and apparently the men’s urinal very small. Not wheelchair friendly toilets.

This place has lovely booths and is family friendly and kid friendly. Wheelchair friendly in the first part but the rear part there are steps.

Will come back again at night and fingers crossed will be pleased.

Dont mean to be rude but seriously, dont waste your time!!! It doesnt even deserve 1 star. We ordered 2 mixed souvlaki, chips and a drink for $40. We didnt know they had a combo deal but workers charged us individually. It wouldn't have bothered me much if the food was good. Both meats were awfully dry. Service was also unpleasant!! First and last time coming.

My succulent lamb souvlaki was ready not a second after I tapped my credit card!! It was full of ingredients, fresh and tasty and all the staff were great. ... 5 stars would’ve been if it also had tiganites patates (chipies) inside!

Wanted $5 to change the sauce.

I felt sick afterwards so they definitely did something to the burger never going back and I’m always up and about at night

Avoid like the plague!! Ordered via uber eats late one night, drunk. I may have been inebriated but even I could tell that my smoked salmon so-called risotto was NOT risotto. The rice had been cooked separately by itself in water with the white wine poured over the top and not cooked out properly - it still tasted and smelt like cheap white wine! After a couple of bites, I couldn’t deal with it anymore and put it away. Gave it a second try the next day, sober, and still the same experience. These people DO NOT know how to make a risotto and give Italian food a bad name. Also ordered a pizza - it was Coles frozen home brand quality. Certainly no pizza ovens in that joint. Save yourself some money and stock up on supermarket stodge next time you have a big one. Or try gnawing on that dirty old sock you’ve been meaning to pull out the back of the sofa.

A group of friends and I ordered uber eats from Hollywood Hill. We ordered two pizzas, garlic bread, calamari and a risotto which came to a total of around $90 which we thought was expensive for what we received.
The pizza's were good however the topping kept sliding off and was rather messy. The calamari was nice and the others mentioned the garlic bread and risotto were also good.

Been going here for years always great food and excellent coffee. Friendly staff worth a visit open 24 hours. Right on the tram line close to other public transport. In the heart of the Richmond bargin shopping area

We stayed at Adara Hotel and these guys serviced the meals. We arrived close to midnight and we ordered a risotto which arrived quickly and the food still very hot and fresh. We ordered their pancakes for breakfast and it was not bad. Their serving are huge so do consider sharing a main and ordering one dessert if you are not a big eater.

Worst pizza i have ever had - dough tasted basic as in ph levels and made me feel sick. It was also dry and tough when it arrived and for some reason it took 40 minutes to prepare after i ordered on ubereats. Overload on basil flavor too on the Margherita pizza.

Fantastic Greek food at a very reasonable price. Best of all with UberEats it came to my doorstep within 15 minutes of ordering and I'm 3km away! Highly recommend if you live in the inner city and are Netflix and chilling it and can't be bothered getting out of your pyjamas for a late night Souva. Cheers guys.

I just ordered an Uber Eat Cabonara...!? It was literally bacon, pasta and oil...

I did order it 30 mins before the cafe closed for the night, but this is no excuse to serve me a pathetic meal that a child could make better, or at least put cream and egg into the dish!!?

Worst Uber Eats experience by far, I will never eat from here again and pass on the word how average your food is, that's a compliment, it's far far below acceptable..

What a huge waste of money..

Jerks..
Came across this place on break and ordered a chicken souvlaki. I didn't have to wait long for my food which tasted quite good. The bread was warm and soft and there was plenty of meat in my souvlaki. Will come back to try the lamb souvlaki.

ages since I have been here. Formally Hollywood Place. The place has been given some TLC. My huge lamb souvi was excellent, lots of soft lamb in a really fresh heated bread wrap with all the fillings. Cafe Latte was good too. The staff greeted me with a smile not like the old blokes years ago. Nice to see this gem still on Bridge Rd given all the development going on. One the very first Greek souvlaki joints I frequented when I settled in Melbourne in 86. It was the place to come after heavy drinking session a and clubing with work mates. Open 24 hours back then with no door and still is but with a door now. It was called the Hollywood Palace back thBeenen. They had rice puddings and faint donuts on the counter. Pinball and arcade machines in the huge back room. There was an assortment of dudes sitting out on the sidewall tables with all coffees and the occasional huge hulk eating a huge meal. A bunch of mature greek men working the gyros machines back then and would not take shit from any of the punters. Well I had a lamb gyros with salad, garlic sauce, salad with pita bread on a plate not the usually bulging wrap. Washed down with flat whites and indulged myself with a huge baklava. Had a chat the the new owner of 11 years and reminisced about old days. Well I enjoyed my impromptu visit to tonight.

I used to come here when it was Hollywood palace the look of the place has changed a lot since then. We always came here after a night out so decided we would go back and give the new management a go. We all got souvlaki, they were friendly and quick, but they got my souvlaki wrong the first time so they took it back and made me a new one wit extra ingredients I didn't ask for but I ate it anyway. No one at our table seemed to complain. I will go back on our next late night out

Me and my brother were old regulars and everytime we come in we were welcomed by warm smiles and a lovely meal. Haven't been in a while but am raring to come back.

Far kinorrible
Ordered a large capriccosa because of its simplicity. Asked for prawns to be added.
They actually put fish on it that stank . Don't know why . I gave it a 2 slice try and then threw it in the bin.😵

Horrendous! The food was foul. Took a nostalgic trip to Richmond and remembered the amazing souvlaki I enjoyed years ago. My husband eagerly awaited our lamb souvlakis. The lanb tasted like boiled mutton. I could see the cold, off white fat. The taste of boiled lamb permeated the whole dish. Oil/fat was running down from my hand to my wrist! Yuck. Ordered coffee to wash the taste from my mouth. Took two mouthfuls of a boiled milk cappuccino and gave up. Relief finally came when I threw up half an hour later. Never again! An absolute waste of $60!

Let's just sat this place is very good when you are drunk... They do open 24 hours so I recommend going after midnight. The only real complaint I have on this place is that gloves were not used to make my Kebab right in front of me.

Mum and I had breakfast here on a Monday morning.
We had:
Bacon and scrambled Egg on Toast: Big serve very good value for money. 10 pieces of small cut bacon they were nice not very salty. The scrambled egg was way over cooked and some bits was burnt and the toast absorbed all the fat/oil from the egg so the toast was very oily.
Egg Benedict: Good serve, two poached eggs with generous amount of ham, and the poached eggs cooked nicely. But I didn't like the sauce.
Cappuccino: Very hot but the taste was weak
Hot chocolate: Very hot but the taste was weak tasted more milk than chocolate.
Service was good
Cutlery: They were dirty

Just wrapped up dinner. Had a penne pasta with feta, tomatos, spinach and olives, definitely great pasta, along with a slice of feta. Customer service id give 8/10 friendly place

Below par on this one I have been going there since I first was able to drive. The burgers were greasy and yummy just like a late night snack should be. Last couple of times have been a real let down. Taking off in the middle of the night for a taste sensation and to be disappointed is devastating. Guys please pick up your game. Your establishment is an institution, please respect it. Hmmm a reluctant Toodles

I used to avoid Hollywood Palace like the plague. Thought I'd give the new management a chance.

Not disappointed. I've only eaten the souvlaki here, but it is solid. Soft, fluffy bread, tasty meat and friendly service. You're not going to find better food around here late at night, and these guys go 24/7.

Do it.

Nothing what it used to be, so disappointed

WORST SOUVLAKI EVER!!. Its the worst souvlaki I've ever had.
I would rather prefer to drive into the city and pick a souvlaki from stalactites which isn't the best either.
Went in after the football with my friends and tried to buy some souvlaki. But the souvlaki had worst taste ever, the meat was burnt just like charcoal, and when I went up to complain about it I was told that it was fresh meat and it was just cut off the spit and that I should not complain. So we left our food and walked out.
Not even my dog would eat this meat which these guys to tried to serve!!
Don't bother even going there....waste of time and money!!
BUT IM A LITTLE CONFUSED HERE WHY DOES THE FRONT SIGNAGE STILL SAY HOLLYWOOD PALACE AND NOT HOLLYWOOD HILL ??

Groovy !!!!!!!!. Revamped, new owners, new style, great food, great atmosphere. This icon is under new management and still runs 24 hours. Everything has changed for the better. New seating as well as a rear raised section for more intimate dining with some casual lounge seating for drinks. Great lighting and signage arrangement. Staff and chef are great. The place is licensed and makes a great souvlaki as well as a variety of continental foods. Great breakfast and lunch menu. Great service. Highly recommend for all hour eating.
