Review Pg.2 - Richmond

Vanessa P
Cosy cafe, not too busy when we went on a Saturday for brunch at 11am. Seating on the bench against the wall was not the most comfortable. Good coffee. I ordered the bagel with smoked salmon- it was delicious and better than sourdough. The yellow interior design was visually pleasing also. And the option to sit outside in the back courtyard is good too.

Great little spot for a coffee and snacks. Extremely neat and very comfortable with excellent service. Our family stopped in here for morning tea. We ordered chips coffee and a beer so there is a lot of variety and accommodating service.

Great coffee first and foremost. This cafe is nestled on the bustling Swan St with 2 hour parking just behind the cafe close enough to walk. They also have SKIP app which makes it super easy to grab a coffee on the go and not line up. Staff are happy and super nice! They also have wifi (hooray) which is rare in Australia compared to other countries. Great cafe. Try it.

Amazing food, calm place, excellent coffee. Perfect breakfast place.

Nice relaxed vibe with outdoor seating and very friendly service. Good prices and food though food could have been a bit hotter.

New owners but beautiful service, friendly and warm, great coffee and tasty cakes. Highly recommended

Bad experience. I order a Breaky Salad which is half a bag of spanich thrown in the bowl with few grilled cherry tomatoes, half avocado and few leaves of kale. No quinoa could be recognised. It was like eating raw spinach. Not good at all. The person behind the counter apologised with " I am sorry about that" while approaching the EFTOS terminal. Coffee was good though.

Cute cafe. Inside and outside seating, including one big table inside that is good for groups. Nice latte and I enjoyed the yoyo biscuit. My sister had a brownie but thought it was a bit stale.

I really recommend Pg.2. Of course the cafe is the best for customers. But not only that, I have another reason. It's for staff! I was really happy to work there. Great team work! Great customers! Thanks for working together and coming for us. I miss you guys a lot.

Sweet cafe. Coffee and food was great and staff friendly. Loved the ant artwork in the toilet as well as the generally relaxed, comfortable atmosphere of the cafe. We just dropped in while visiting Melbourne but we noticed a few regulars come and go while we lingered in the cafe over coffees and lunch.

Came in for a coffee today - the staff were really friendly and welcoming, and the coffee was amazing too!

Beautiful brunch today. We were celebrating our Daughters 30th Birthday. Food was amazing. Service was fantastic. Coffee wonderful. Courtyard lovely. Happy happy customers. Thank you.

Incredible food, wonderful service and the best chai in Melbourne! Jason and the team are awesome!
Kelly Proitsis
This is one of my favourite cafés for sure! Jason & Nhi give you a warm welcome when you come in, and they follow through with creamy, full-bodied and fresh delicious coffee. If you're just coming for coffee and a sweet - you can't go past the amazing harvest bread (though all their other sweets are fab too)! For something to fill your tummy up a bit more, there will surely be something to please you on the menu as well. Pg.2 is a winner with the full trifecta - food+coffee, staff and ambience! Definitely a must-try if you haven't already.

Such a relaxed, friendly, and chill atmosphere. The food and coffee are delicious and the space is so comfortable! Would definitely recommend and return!!

Great place for brunch! The monthly rehanging of art works i think is a fantastic idea to support local artists and makes the visit always fresh and new and exciting:)

Great food and coffee! The drinks and food were delicious, and very well priced for how much you get! The staff were so nice and provided amazing service, and the air conditioning provided a nice escape from the unbearable heat today. Definately my new favorite cafe, would highly reccomend and will be back very soon!

Amazing food, amazing coffee, amazing service- highly recommend

First time there. Coffee was wonderful, it was the end of the day of the staff were really friendly. No bother to them

My favourite cafe in Richmond. Great coffee and friendly staff.

Delicious food and a large menu. Pg.2 is a small cafe on Swan St with a large menu and certainly did not disappoint. The foods great and the service is excellent.

Pg. 2 in Richmond Swan street. Currently change the management team and under new owner. Lovely ambience and friendly staff with good service. Nice presentation and they have designers to change the wall decorations on monthly basis. Coffee is very nice and tasty cake as well. Brunch is served with reasonable size and good tasty pulled pork dishes. Overall is a great experience with the new management. Highly recommended and definitely will go back.

Pulled pork sliders are the best.

Great service. Cool vibe with all the art on the wall.

Nice place to hang out and have a coffee.

Pulled pork sliders. Worth repeating.

Pg.2 is a quaint little cafe located near the corner of Swan and Church Streets in Richmond. They feature an ever rotating selection of art from local artists which are great to peruse whilst waiting for your meal.
The interior is very welcoming and features a few lounge chairs right next to the window, overlooking Swan Street, and a covered private courtyard at the back.

The staff were very friendly and the service was quick. The dishes were simple, but delicious and warrants another visit to sample more of their menu! I wasn’t able to try their coffee today, but will definitely do so next visit.

Check out the review of Pg.2 in the blog post below.

A pleasant experience after multiple breakfast fails near North Melbourne. Staff are nice at Pg2. They have campos coffee. Food was tasty; I love their bread, it reminds me of another cafe in South Melbourne.

They make reasonable smash avocado. However, they need to work on their poach eggs method a bit more. The egg on my breakfast was poached but it didn't look authentic.

Excellent coffee though. Great work!

Food is always delicious, staff are always friendly and welcoming! You won't find a more delicious serving of sautéed mushrooms anywhere else in Richmond!
Storm Moore
By far the best Cafe in Richmond! Best soy chais, best food (we recommend the mushrooms with hollandaise) and the best staff! Highly recommend to everyone!!!!!
Erik Lindeberg
I just can't get enough of the smashed avocado at this place. Honestly the best smashed avocado in Melbourne. Not to mention great customer service, awesome atmosphere and delicious coffee.
Chris Garnaut
Coffee was fantastic.
Was informed that because it was a 'big' bill they would not be able to split bill (Cumilis the previous night was more than accommodating, a bill of around $1600, not an issue to split)
Food was, well, I wouldn't know. After having to wait over 50 minutes I cut my losses, canceled the order and decided on the Red Rooster Flayva combo which was a risky choice paid dividends: hot, delicious & speedy with the perfect amount of chicken salt to chip ratio.
When I returned to the cafe to join my mates, their Sliders were just sandwiches with sourdough bread and cold, while my good mate who ordered Toast with butter had to wait 55 minutes and then question if the bread had been warmed up with an old bic lighter. We can only assume that they were churning the butter by hand, traditional style.

Solid Five Star rating for Red Rooster! Thank you for saving my life 🐓

Work in Richmond, not far from Pg2. Our go to destination for breakky with smash avacado being favourite and the new special 'baked eggs' - although would prefer more spicy and with a bit of chorizo in there 😆 Coffee is good as well. 👌👌

Great food, great coffee and fantastic staff. Dog friendly for out the front or rear.

Richmond is known for its cafe's and brunch places and pg.2 stands up well in its own right. It's a cafe store that every suburb needs.

Lovely place in Richmond-- Very friendly staff and great coffee! There's a lot of competition in Richmond for good coffee and this place holds up as far as I'm concerned! The coffee is always consistently good. :)
Dan
Seriously great coffee and very friendly staff. Good to see some more quality places popping up in Swan St.
I wish it was a few more minutes closer to home so I could get my morning fix here everyday.
Went here for the first time on the weekend with my Wife and 2 month old. Nowadays, we're kinda picky when it comes to cafes for speed of service and room to accommodate our huge ass pram.... on top of our usual pickiness around staff, coffee, food and atmosphere.
Summary based on our criteria:
Coffee: was super tasty. Had more than I needed as a result, but got more chores done in the afternoon than expected!
Food: delicious! Wife had the choose your own adventure type poached eggs dealio, and I had the big breakfast (my staple when trying a new place). Usually some people drop quality on some ingredients on a big breakfast assuming the customer just wants to munch for a long time and doesn't care about taste. So wrong. Everything on this plate was excellent. And they do this hash brown pancake that is freakin amazing! I'd go back there just for that!
Staff: happy. and friendly. I was new there, but it was obvious this place has frequent customers judging by the conversations.
atmosphere: see staff above.
kid friendly: yes. they made a space for us and our large pram and oo-ed and ah-ed at my cute kid to my liking :) who could help it though.

started this as a 4. but on reflection. this is a 4.5. Will def go back

We had high hopes for a good feed after a night out. Not so. We started with a plain croissant which was not so fresh. For mains ordered the breakfast sliders and chorizo and feta eggs. The slider buns were not of great quality - perhaps Coles quality (nothing wrong with Coles though, just expected more from a highly rated cafe), chutney spread was average, spinach could have been sautéed. Lastly, the hash browns were way too hard. As For the signature dish - the chorizo, feta eggs, the taste was quite plain. The French handbag is a big chorizo fan and reported that the dish definitely lacked something. Coffee was okay, loved the teddy bear drawing on the cappuccino. We came here a couple years ago and had a fantastic meal. They've most probably changed chefs in the meantime. GS does not enjoy giving an un-"generous" review. On a lighter note, the service was fantastic and the waiter jumped to offering charging my phone as we mealed.

Wonderful people, lovely atmosphere. Great Coffee and beautiful food. My breakfast or lunch spot of choice in Melbourne no matter where I am.

My favourite local spot! Beautiful coffee, yummy food and excellent service. I love sitting outside in the courtyard. Never disappoints. Love the new menu, especially the vegan fritters! Yum! Dog friendly too.

What needs great cafe in Melbourne? Great venue, great coffee, great food and Great Staff!
Pg.2 Cafe definitely got all these things!!
Plus, how nice it is to see people working with passion, as Jason and the young french fellow for the coffee!
Go Pg.2

The coffee was immaculate, the food was delicious, the service was rapid and the wait staff were lovely, including Melbourne's finest French barista!
Quentin Gauthier
Very friendly and welcoming staff, fresh food and really good coffee served quickly. Such a good courtyard to enjoy on sunny days, if you are in Richmond you should definitely go and check it out.

Sunday brunch - coffee was good, food was good, staff very friendly but it took too long for the coffees and the food to come out. They were busy but so is every other cafe in Richmond. Staff did apologize & offered us free cakes.

Coffee was spot on using a type of coffee bean that my hard to please brothers were very happy with. Food was presented amazingly and tastes just as it should with serving size approximate leaving you feeling content upon finishing. Service was polite, accomodating and quick, made even better by the good looks of the waiter. Ambience and feel of the place was warm and comforting with cool furniture and awesome artwork on the walls.

It is quite nice but with stiff competition in Richmond, I must admit we haven't been back. The breakfast hotdog was very enjoyed by my partner but not really filling enough for breakfast. I can't actually remember what I had for breakie which leads me to think it wasn't that great..? Coffee and service were good though. Overall good but need to step it up a notch in an area with so many great options.

Amazing!. Had breakfast here this morning! The smashed avo on toast was delicious with a generous amount of balsamic vinegar. Iced coffee was amazing - not too bitter but not too sweet either! Courtyard was awesome to sit in, staff were lovely and I will definitely be back!

I don't usually post reviews. However this place is worth one. Just get yourselves to pg2.

My brother is a special character. There are many science-y and psychology type words that are generally used to describe him, but there are also many other beautiful words, such as hardworking, loyal to a fault, committed to the cause of good, selfless, tenacious, and outgoing. And earlier this month, he turned 25. To celebrate, since Chai had recently hurt himself, rather than going out for a full family meal, mum stayed home to dog sit and Brad and I took Tim out for brunch. He used to hate going out for meals, as it would ruin his schedule, or whatever it was in his head that he had planned to do. These days though, with enough notice, he’s now keen as chops to get out the door for a meal, and loves spending time with us. So we ended up at Pg. 2 in Richmond, a very cosy little cafe on Swan Street, that makes you beam from ear to ear and wriggle your toes in joy, at the warmth the staff and the space exudes. Who wouldn’t want to just lounge around in the blue armchairs at the front of the cafe, or the red ones in the back all day? There are even a box of blankets out back if you choose to sit outside on a slightly chilly day. Reminds me very much of Germany! The menu and food were honest, but beautifully executed. My brother was thrilled to get gluten free bread with his thyme infused Swiss brown mushrooms, with poached eggs and gleefully rich homemade hollandaise, which h

Finally!. Having recently moved into the area, I've been looking for a place that I can find; great coffee, amazing food at great value & friendly staff, Pg.2 surpasses all of those! Get down and try the mushroom & eggs benedict - it's too good to miss. Thanks guys!
Yvette
Wow! The new kids on the block are cool!. I love a complicated Melbournian brekky as much as anyone and these guys are all over it!!

Totally addicted to the mushroom brekky!!

Always a big smile when you walk in and excellent coffee.
Chris Blyth
So nice! I had thyme infused mushrooms and poached eggs with hollandaise sauce. Perfect. The Hollandaise was house made and light as it should be. Highly recommended.

Such a cute cafe! Welcoming and unpretentious. Perfect place to catch up with a friend over coffee or tea- their tea selection is fantastic! I'll be back.

My new benchmark for cafes. Having lived near Swan St for 4 years now I still found myself looking for a cafe that I was proud to call 'my local' and in Pg. 2 I have finally found it.

The meals are tasty and generous, the coffee delicate yet satisfying, and there is outdoor or indoor seating suited to the weather's unpredictability. Despite all this, the icing on the cupcake is that it has retained its ultra-friendly feel, like you've dropped into a friend's place and the staff are happy to see you, rather than giving the feeling like they have to try and squeeze you in like other places.

A league of its own.. Been living in Melbourne 31 years and put simply, one of the best brekkies I've ever had.

Recommended by food snobs, I was expecting a bit one of those "Pay $25 and get a pea that's flown in from Burma" kind of places, but it was unpretentious and delicious.

Interesting menu, awesome staff that were super friendly and happy to be at work, surprisingly cheap too.

Will definitely be back and recommend to all!
Tania Trapla
Love this place - Feels like home but someone else is cooking and the food is awesome!

Good coffee & excellent service. Fast becoming my regular coffee spot!

It’s incredible with all the cafes already in Richmond that Pg.2 decided to open its doors in a growing part of Swan Street. In the early stages in order to be competitive a cafe has to look closely how it wants to be seen, its menu prices, and above all its staff.

To some, it may seem easy to get a cafe off the ground and running at a nice profit. But shortly after opening how often do we see cafes closing their doors! About a month ago we walked past this particular cafe had a quick look at the menu. There was a crowd and we remembered the staff member who passed on the menu with a friendly smile (and the La Marzocco machine).
Sofia Levin
Walking into this café feels like you’re entering someone's living room.... Pop in for some sweet potato pancakes, or perhaps jerk chicken is more your thing?
