Went here with workmates and the popcorn chicken is amazing and has so much flavour. The ice tea is quite good as well, but the milk tea isn’t the best milk tea. Overall I would go back
Had the beef brisket noode soup... REALLY delicious. The flavours were so good and the meat was tender. Staff are also very attentive. Will be back
A little Taiwanese cafe on Bridge Rd amongst many other eateries. Very friendly service and a wide menu.
The green curry chicken was slightly sweet and the oyster pancake (not on their menu) was huge for an entree.
We also ordered the fried rice noodles which was spicy and tasty, but slightly oily.
Overall a great experience.
Serves alcohol.
The food and staff are great and friendly. Gllow is a nice place to get a decent fast meal or even takeaway. I enjoy the vegetarian noodles with extra prawns. Its been consistent and good value for money every time.
The chicken was quite nice overall. Fresh out of the frier with just the right amount of batter, each mouthful was filled with a distinct and tasty crunch followed by juicy and tender chicken. This combined with the curry sauce (which was thick and spicy) made for a delicious chicken dish that surely didn’t disappoint.
The Taiwanese sausage was also a decent effort. The flavour was pretty much spot on and reflects the authentic grilled sausage sold in Taiwan. One criticism however would be the skin, which could be grilled for a tad longer to provide a better crunch.
Overall a half decent Taiwanese restaurant that excels in the mains and offer authentic flavours and dishes. The sides though, were a bit ‘meh’.
Great place to have a quick meal and takeaway food. The salt and pepper chicken taste nice and fried. Customer service was friendly. There minim of $15 if you want to pay by card tho.
If you have a hankering for Taiwanese food or snacks, do consider giving this place a go. The Taiwanese beef noodle soup, mee sua, three cups chicken and pork mince rice are highly recommended - much better than the ones you can get at the Taiwanese restaurants in Box Hill. While not very authentic, most dishes do well enough to satisfy any cravings you have. However, seeing that they are a Taiwanese restaurant, it's disheartening that their bubble milk teas are pretty lacklustre. Tasted quite artificial, too sweet and pearls are too dense. Gllow definitely has potential, it just needs to up its game and it will corner the market for Taiwanese food in Melbourne.
Consistently hits the spot and I never leave disappointed. While I suspect that the cuisine is not traditionally Taiwanese, the dishes are generously sized, tasty, and served without MSG. I recommended the following dishes: salt & pepper squid/chicken, combination fried rice, and crispy pork ribs. Highly recommended.
Not many Taiwanese restaurants around this area so I would safely say that this place does it best. They have the classic dishes that I crave for: Taiwanese beef noodle soup, oyster meesua, Taiwanese sausages (although portion is puny - Malvern branch has more), oyster pancake and popcorn chicken. The later two are not very authentic. Friendly staff and good pricing. Decor is just ok. Fine if you bring your mates. Good drinks menu and good portion but the flavours are better over at the Malvern branch.
One of our favourites for a quick bite before the movies.
Filling and tasty.
We love the crispy sweet potatoes and the roti hand rolls.
But everything we've tried has been yum.
Consistent and always satisfying! Salt & pepper squid is delicious, the fried rice is also highly recommended.
If you order to go you are served promptly and quickly, definitely a favorite
Great value lunch meals - large range available with steamed rice for $10. Large sized, fresh meals with good flavours and veggies. The bento style boxes look great also and keen to go back and try.
Tiny little Taiwan-style cafe. Cheerful and bright inside but very easy to miss, especially if you're just driving by. Food has authentic Taiwan taste and served very quickly. Very yummy and affordable.
Been here several times and it's always serviceable! Friendly service and normally pretty quick. The dumplings are not bad if your close by and craving dumplings. Rest of the food is pretty good as well.
Friendly service and good food for a quick bite if you're around Bridge Rd. The popcorn chicken bento box was great and the bubble tea sensational.
It's so hard to find authentic Taiwanese cafe/ restaurant in Melbourne. But Gllow is one of my favourite TW one. Must try the bubble tea and fried rice noodles in Taiwanese style..,
Dropped by to have a quick bite to satisfy my Taiwanese beef noodles craving since we already had dinner beforehand. Everything on the menu is quite reasonably priced and it's a cosy little cafe-style restaurant which allows BYO (applause). The waitress was friendly and the food came quickly. Flavour was alright but they use pre-purchased soup base. Would be nice if it was homemade soup! But that requires a lot of skill and effort. Wouldn't mind paying $20 for a bowl of really authentic Taiwanese beef noodles but there isn't a place that has it in Melbourne. If only some of the good Taiwanese restaurants in Sydney can come over!
Always lovely. The staff are super nice. Servings are massive. Flavours are spot on. You have to try the fried tofu entree - it is the best I have ever had in Richmond. I have ordered takeaway from here too and it is just as good as dining in!
Not bad overall. Average food, cosy little cafe.

So much deliciousness.. Went here last night to catch up with some friends, every part of the experience was good! Staff were friendly, the food came out quickly and tasted amazing. We shared a few entrees - the Popcorn Chicken - So fresh & Tasty, Vegetarian Dumplings - Mmmm and the Wasabi Prawns well we almost ordered a second round.
They nailed the XXL Crispy Chicken Box - this is what made me want to visit Gllow, a very large serving and after a few entrees I was struggling to finish it but others helped out.
Highly recommended. I will definitely be back. Yum!
Tiny little Taiwan-style cafe. Cheerful and bright inside but very easy to miss, especially if you're just driving by. Food has authentic Taiwan taste and served very quickly. Very yummy and affordable.
So flippin good! Had the veggie udon noodles, sweet potato fries, and the pork noodle soup - the broth was to die for! Service is friendly and bubble teas were delicious. I will definitely be back. :D
A MUST TRY CAFE !. I hardly recommend this cafe as the food is lovely and their staff are friendly.Ther Chilli Oil dumpling was the best. Besides, the beef noodles soup taste well. Do try this cafe out,you won't regret having your meal here .
I like this cafe as the food is nice and the staff was friendly. They serve us well. Their roti hand roll was delicious.Popcorn chicken and crispy chicken taste good, same as what I had in taiwan before. So come try this cafe up
Yummy food. Popcorn chicken is so tasty. The prices are reasonable and the staff is so friendly.
I will detinely recommend the 3 cups chicken for everyone to try. Service was fast and the staff were very friendly. A great place to dine and value for money too.
Dine in again.. The food is great quality, delicious, great service haven't been disappointed keep up the good work
I went to this restaurant to have beef noodle soup and loved it, it was delicious.
Had an issue with my food, they took care of it quickly. Thanks Gllow! I've been coming here for the last couple years and really like the food.
Very impressed. We had 3 Cups Chicken and Salt Pepper Squid. Generous Servings and Super Yummy. Great Service too!
Watch out for split bills, you need to order at counter for split billing. There's also a minimum EFT amount ($12 IIRC).
Lunch set is now $15 (they made the drink component compulsory, previously was an option), and dishes have changed. Heaps of items removed from menu, including bento boxes. Not a fan of the side dishes in lunch set, rocket leaves and cheese with pasta, come on. Fried rice is still good, but lunch set tweaks leaving sour taste in mouth.
Favourite local. Gllow is one of two regular frequented restaurants. The staff are super lovely and always make you feel welcome. While usually busy, we never have an issue getting a table and with the yumtastic salt and pepper chicken ribs and great range of teas, this place is always consistently tasty and never fails for a quick bite out.
Amaze. Literally go here every week. Have been probably 15 times. Never failed to have an exceptional feed. The thing with these guys is they are so consistent with the dishes they are able to produce, if you like it you'll keep going back.
Recommend the Chilli Chicken.
Value for money is good as well. Me and the +1 normally in and out for 25 bucks.
Cheap, simple food, quick, friendly. Not really authentic Taiwanese but worth a visit
BETTER THAN TAIWAN CAFE. This place serves a true authentic version of XXXLcrispy chicken!IHave to try it! My partner had the chilli chicken bento box, while i tried the Taiwanese beef noodle soup. The soup was really flavourful and not too salty, noodles chewy and certainly hand made, with the tender beef brisket.I really love this place because it's just so hard to find a place that serves Taiwanese food right here.Good job!
Love it! One of the best Asian dining experiences I have had so far! Good quality food without overly seasoning. Will definitely come back!
Gllowing. Great little restaurant for a no fuss, delicious & quick meal. They also offer take away. Having never tried Taiwanese food before I can honestly say the Taiwanese Bento's are amazing! Have been back a couple of times now!
Yummy. Went to Gllow today for lunch after purchase a voucher for 2 from Groupon. First time to Gllow, food was served in short time. We ordered the teriyaki chicken bento & po corn chicken bento. Taste good with generous portion. Definitely worth a second visit!
Gd...... I don't normally write review On urbanspoon.. But this is good and tasty.. Food and service all adds up good. Thumbs up
Wow the three cup chicken and teriyaki were amazing. Was a great valentines treat, going back tonight. Yum
I go to Gllow all the time. .... I go to Gllow all the time.
The waitresses are lovely, the food is fantastic, great flavour and great v alive for money.
We always leave absolutely stuffed, but its so delicious it makes it hard to put the chopsticks down!
Richmond+"Gllow"= Yummy. I lived in Richmond for my life, never know there's taiwanese cafe down at bridge rd. went to Dare for shopping across the road i saw the cafe, went there for lunch with my Miss.. little cafe but the food are impress us very much. now we know where to eat. Love it..
Amazing - highly recommend. Always great. The bento's are yummy and good value as are the vegetarian roti wraps. Nice dumplings too, not too heavy. Love the bubble teas.
Good deal on the bento boxes. Hubby and I have each tried a couple of bento boxes each and a couple of other items to share. Bento boxes are a good deal as they come with salad and a mixed appetizer set (spring rolls, takoyaki and a tempura item) and are very filling. First bento I tried was 3 cup chicken because of other reviews. I'm Taiwanese, make 3 cup chicken myself regularly and have eaten it in Taiwan and at home in Vancouver. I was not impressed with the 3 cup chicken....lots of unexpected items that act as filler like onion. 3 cup chicken is supposed to be garlic, ginger, chicken, the 3 sauces and Thai basil. I'm borderline on if Gllow's version technically meets the definition of 3 cup chicken.
Other than that, the food is tasty and portion sizes are good.
Tasty tasty food... @ Richmond. Dine in with my mate... Loved the foods there.. Best Asia so far I had
Yummy Asian Cafe. We have been to Gllow several times for weekend lunch and it has yet to disappoint. With an extensive menu, Gllow has snacks, soups, bentos, noodles, rice and mains to suit every taste. The portions are very generous and it is such great value for money! A few of our favs are the Pan fried chicken with omelette, Taiwan Fried rice noodle and Fried Koay Teow.
So great to have a great local Asian cafe on Bridge Road!! Well worth a visit!
Delicious. Big portion. Good service.. A variety of set menu to choose from. And they come with takoyaki and skewer.fast service. Good bargain. Would definitely go back again!
The three cup chicken and x crispy chicken and salted chicken taste normal tho even we were hungry. But overall happy food welcome us anytime.
Note: try to avoid going at busy hour like fri and sat late evening and night. If reiki have it, I would advice to make a booking through their no to secure a spot once you get there
Dine in tonight at Gllow with my friends.. love the amazing food and the Bento are delicious, anyone go there pls try out the oyster pancake and three cup chicken.. yummy
It's a small and nice restaurant with good food. Nothing super special or amazing but it tasted good.
Delicious! Great selection, great service and great price. Will be back for more
Best restaurant in Richmond! Went there so many times the sizzling tofu and three cup chicken are my favorites! Homemade Ginseng tea is highly recommended. Also love the atmosphere and decor of Gllow!!
I live in the area and whenever I want a reasonably priced, tasty meal I always go here. This XXL chicken is amazing and such great value, but my favorite is the crispy s&p squid box, the most tender squid you can get in a really tasty batter, with basically everything you could want to compliment it.
Awesome lunch time BentoBox - w/ curry pork cutlet and iced tea. I never leave reviews, but it was so good, I felt I had to. (Lucky find, after another noodle place had a $15 min for Eftpos - and I walked out)
Definitely a fantastic place to eat. While it is small it delivers on great food and friendly service. Very tasty bento boxes too. Thumbs up from me.
Good quality and cozy place. Foods are delicious but the price is slighty higher than similar restaurants! Anyway, it was a pleasing experience. Will try it again :))
Great food, everything we tried was fantastic. The three cup chicken was definitely worth a try. Big servings, made to share!
Really good and tasty food. Sometimes a bit on the oily side however. Try the laksa and the pop corn chicken- they are the best!
