Review La Lot Vietnamese Restaurant - Richmond

J T
Ate here on Saturday afternoon about 1. We were the only customers in the restaurant. Despite this staff was a bit slow and weren't very attentive probably given the slow afternoon. Ordered the bbh, the stock was nice but a bit on the salty side. it wasn't too spicy which I liked. However noodles had hard bits in it. Either because they were old or weren't cooked properly. Fried won ton as a side was done well. Beer and ciders were pretty cheap.

This restaurant needs more recognition because the food was so so so good but the place is so quiet on Saturday night. Totally recommended dishes: LS3: Vietnamese braised fish clay pot LS4: Vietnamese sweet and sour soup w fish Omg, the sweet sour soup is to die for. The fish in clay pot was melting in our mouths. Can't wait to go back. We'll done La Lot!!!

Great! Wonderful service. Quality foods. Fast service. I had the crispy salt and pepper chicken fried. Totally returning.

Their motto seems to be: makes all the cheap snacks tiny, display nicely and overcharge the price

Randomly entered this restaurant. Ordered 3 mains plus 2 entrees, food is very very nice and reasonably priced. The only recommendation is to have pictures of the dishes on the menu would be really helpful.

Food here is so good and fresh. Ordered the stir-fried chicken flat rice noodle and Vietnamese fish fillet claypot and they were delicious. Totally recommended!!!

Best spicy beef and pork soup I've ever tried. Been there twice now. Love it!

Was quite disappointed on the service. The waitress seemed more interested in servicing Asian customers. The food was reasonably priced, however a little bland. Not like the food we enjoyed in Vietnam .

I come here for the vegetarian pho with tofu and an egg and I am not even a vegetarian. The stock is insanely deep and flavoursome, I initially thought it was chicken stock but the staff assured me it isn't<br/>The vegetarian spring rolls are awesome too.

My Rating: 4.5<br/><br/>It’s been a while since I had Vietnamese in Richmond, so I decided to drop by with a group of friends for a meal. I noticed that Pho Hung Vuong 2 had moved to a bigger premise taking two shop fronts. Having asked one of the staff members I was told that they had moved around mid-2018.<br/>I particularly like PHV2 as their pho is always consistent and I was excited to try it again in their bigger establishment.<br/><br/>🔆LOCATION🔆<br/><br/>Pho Hung Vuong 2 is still situated on Victoria Street, but have moved down closer to where Commonwealth Bank branch is, directly opposite to Woolworths supermarket complex.<br/><br/>There interior of the restaurant is brightly it, and very modern looking. On the far left wall there is a long shelf with nice displays of pottery and plants. There’s plenty of seating and great for large/group gatherings.<br/><br/>🔆SERVICE🔆<br/>Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Tea and menu were given to us as soon as we sat down. There were 5 of us and we all ordered a bowl of pho each and some spring rolls to share. Our order was delivered to us within 15 minutes! Fabulous! <br/><br/>🔆MENU/PRICE🔆<br/><br/>The menu is laid out very well with selected photos in each section.<br/><br/>Pho Noodle Soup sizes and costs are as follows: <br/>Small $11.00<br/>Medium $12.00<br/>Large $14.00<br/>------------------------------------------2 x Sliced Beef Pho (medium), $12.00 each<br/>Slicked Beef and Brisket Pho (medium, $12.00<br/>Sliced Beef Pho (small), $11.00<br/>Sliced Beef, Brisket and Tendo Pho (medium), $12.00<br/>Prawn Spring Rolls (x 8), $10.00<br/><br/>Three Colour Drink, $4.00<br/>(includes red beans, mung beans, pandan jelly topped with coconut milk and crushed ice)<br/><br/>🔆VERDICT🔆<br/><br/>There was a very generous amount of sliced beef in my pho which was great! The beef was sliced thinly and slightly raw – perfect! The soup base was light yet packed full of flavour, although I did find it was a bit oily however I think it does add to the flavour hehe! <br/><br/>My friends and I consumed the prawn spring rolls every so quickly. They were fresh and tasty and we could taste the prawn filling too! We had decent amount of lettuce pieces to wrap the spring roll.<br/><br/>My three-colour drink was tasty and had even amount of ingredients to clearly show that its 3 colour – mung beans, red beans and pandan jelly. Yum! <br/>All in all, we had a lovely meal at PHV2 in Richmond.

Authentic Vietnamese cuisine that’s satisfying... we got the large beef pho for $14 which came in a generous serving of meat. The soup was delicious and not too salty. The grilled pork pho was as good. We also got the mixed pork and chicken vermicelli which wasn’t as tasty. The pork spring rolls were small and slightly salty but still good. The iced white coffee was strong and sweet. Overall we would highly recommend the pho!
Carmen
The beef broth is really good! Light but very flavourful. I went with the medium size because the large looked way too big. In hindsight I should have gotten the small.
Sense Of Food
Probably the best place to visit when you’re craving for authentic Vietnamese dishes in Melbourne. Definitely delicious! My dad really loves pho and he said this place has the best tasting broth he's tasted in Melbourne. We also tried the rice vermicelli with beef, which was very tasty as well.

2.6 out of 5. We escaped here after Tho Tho, an experience we were very keen to put behind us as quickly as possible. I’d like to say it was a great experience but it wasn’t unfortunately. The food was just passable, not that much better than the other venue. But, the service was much superior. We were the only people in the place though which should have been a red flag on a Friday night. As we left there was a person right aside the restaurant shooting up into their leg. It sort of capped a very ordinary night’s eating. Based on this experience, I wouldn’t think of returning here.

Don’t underestimate the large....

Was after a quick and warming meal. Stopped by this place and ordered a some pho. Well balanced broth. Service good.

I highly recommend trying Pho Hung Vuong 2! I’m not usually a fan of pho but this place has me converted. I ordered the beef brisket with tendon and it was so chewy and tender. The broth is full of flavor unlike some places which taste like water. If you have a sweet tooth like I do, order the three color drink! It’s coconut milk with pandas jelly and red bean YUM 😋

2 Nov 19. I have been coming here for 15 odd years love everything on the menu. However today I ordered the vermicelli with grilled chicken and it tasted good but seemed to only have half its regular volume.... so that was a bit disappointing hope if it was just a one off!
Hamish_88
Been here many times, it's always been good but I'm not coming back after my last time. They went stingy on the noodles!!!! All our bowls had a tiny amount compared to usual, it was ridiculously a small amount. Even the lettuce for the spring rolls was a small piece. The longan was a mix of dried and canned longan as well which was not pleasant. Then to top it off, they were mopping the floors while we were eating and all we could smell was bleach!! It was absolutely disgusting

By far the best pho in town. My sis in law took me here and demanded that I try “gầu” which is like a fattier cut of brisket, and it’s so goddam good (not for people watching their waistline of course). It’s basically a crunchier fat than what you’d get with normal brisket. I am hooked!
Kate
This place has the most delicious pho, my partner and I ordered a small beef & brisket each. The broth is so good, I usually add chili to my pho but there was no need to add anything! Reasonable price and service too, only wish they had some beers available - but you can BYO for $4.
Debby
Second branch from the original shop down in Footscray. Quality of the broth is as amazing. No nonsense and frills, get either pho or broken rice and spring rolls for your entree. Deep flavourful broth and generous sizes.
Don Djoe
The pho here is very good but their broken rice is surprisingly mediocre at best. The pork chop was tough and rather bland. Thankfully there's a not bad chilli to help lift the taste. As mentioned the pho was very good but the veggies that came with it wasn't very fresh. It came with decent portion and reasonable price though so overall I guess it's an okay place.

Pho Hung Vuong2 is located opposite Woolworths in Victoria Street North Richmond. Typical Vietnamese restaurant, Quick service. We go here regularly for Pho, these guys consistently deliver great pho. If you like traditional Vietnamese this place is worth a visit.
Syafira Amadea
GREAT, CLEAN PHO! Richmond was definitely a place to be for good selections of Asian Food, and as a big fan of Pho, I would say Huong Vuong won me over with their excellent taste of the broth - not too greasy, flavor packed, and neatly served. Restaurant was also well maintained. Street foods served clean, thats what it is, unlike other dodgy pho restaurants out there....
Sourjunky
Went there with a friend and we enjoyed the pho very much. The broth was tasty, noodles was thin enough, the beef, a bit of a rough cut but no big complaint. Rice paper roll was a bit bland and lack of herbs. More importantly, we found ourselves quite thirsty after the meal. So I guess we all know what&#039;s in the broth. Otherwise, I would still say it&#039;s a good pho.
MrM
5 stars for an amazing pho full of flavour. I felt like I was taken back to the busy streets of Saigon. The broth was definitley the winner!
Lizzie Eats Melbourne
😱Lizzie’s first impression: another place I come to for good authentic pho just like the ones I have tried in Vietnam<br/><br/>🍩Lizzie enjoyed: love the pho from here as the broth is done so authentically and the meat is fresh. <br/><br/>🍅Lizzie did not enjoy: it’s not the fanciest place so don’t expect anything great especially service. <br/><br/>🥇Lizzie rates overall: love the selection of pho condiments that they offer here and it’s just so homey

I have been here a few times. They have got decent soup base but Springvale one is better in my opinion (obviously everyone’s tastebud is different).<br/><br/>I went there again not long ago for a quick meal. My partner and I decided to share so we ordered a large one to share. <br/><br/>When the food came, to my disgust, the large is SMALLER than a SMALL. <br/><br/>I understand some shops don’t promote sharing so they might list a minimum spend for each pax on the menu or they explicitly state ‘no sharing’. However, when we ordered, we were not told about anything and to our disappointment, the food portion was not decently sized to the usual order as we compared to the food people who were having around us.<br/><br/>It would be fine for us to order two if they have told us so as their restaurant’s policy or just asked us to order springrolls or so. However, no one told us anything.<br/><br/>The noodle portion was so small that we finished within five bites, as was the beef. <br/><br/>When I went to pay, the cashier person showed me the order list and it showed “L, -b” (I did not request for less anything or extra anything) and when I asked her what does the latter mean, she said it means less noodles (and beef, obviously). She still charged me the price for large (only the soup and the bowl were large, not the filling). <br/><br/>I told her my food portion was really small then she hostilely told me that it was ‘normal’. She repetitively said ‘normal’ with annoyance when she was giving me changes.<br/><br/>I still paid the full amount for my ‘large’ bowl of pho however that would be my last payment made in this restaurant. Would be a more pleasant dining experience if they frankly expressed their hidden ‘policies’ or ‘frustration’ towards us rather than giving us something that didn’t scale up to what it should be.
Cookielessvee
2.5<br/><br/>A clean and well lit Vietnamese store.<br/><br/>Pho with beef and beef balls was quite big for a medium sized bowl. Very oily and salty. The noodles didn't raste plump but quite thin and oily. The fresh beef was great though.<br/><br/>Bbh was okay. Large bowl but felt like there was minimal noodles inside.
Sylvia's POV
I popped in during lunch time on a Tuesday.<br/>Combination beef Pho is decent, could had slightly more flavour, but the portion and composition was good.<br/>It was served quite quickly. I also ordered a serving of prawn spring rolls... Which never arrived.<br/>When I went to pay the bill, the woman at the counter was very understanding and apologised for the missing dish and deducted the amount accordingly.<br/>
Misspicky
I came here for lunch and ordered a plate of pork spring rolls and prawn spring rolla, they gave me vegetarian and when asked they blatantly lied to my face. They both look the same and are definitely vegetarian

Located north Richmond , Vietnamese cuisine, firstly customer service not bad , the waitress very friendly , secondly the pho is great and tasty . The soup broth really awesome ordering large size aud 14 the portion is big #enough for two person , prawn spring roll is good . And not forgot the drinks ~ ice coffee is good. Lastly price is reasonable and will visit again .
Affogato Addiction
All the standard dishes for a Vietnamese restaurant. Flavours were okay.<br/><br/>Bûn, $12, was satisfying. Cold drinks were generally $4, also satisfyingly done.<br/>The decor for this restaurant is amount average and modern.
Eats With Kayli
Decided to check out this spot since it looked pretty busy, as our usual spot in Richmond was completely full. We ordered their large beef combination pho to share, a mixture of spring rolls, rice paper rolls & a jackfruit smoothie. <br/><br/>The spring rolls were pretty flavourful and crispy on the outside, but their sauce was lacking that nice acidity. The rice paper rolls were filling, but the sauce that came with it was really salty. The soup for the pho was a lot more on the oily side, but the meat was pretty tender. The jackfruit smoothie was disappointing as it was just canned jackfruit on the bottom and some crushed ice on top.<br/><br/>Service was really prompt and food came out pretty quickly.
Hungry Koala
Solid pho, also ordered the grilled pork and spring roll vermicelli, which was OK. The broth was enjoyable, however slightly let down by the broken noodles that were served.
Choc Pudding
I saw the rating was high here, so when I was craving for pho, I went there and was rather disappointed. I guess after having amazing pho in Chelsea, everywhere else feels mediocre compared to it. I am not saying I am a Vietnamese who knows how a real pho supposed to be like, but just in my opinion, that pho I had in Chelsea was just mind blowing, shame it's so far away from where I live. Anyway, the pho here is fresh, and I like how generous they were with the basil leaves and bean sprouts - definitely they gave more here than other restaurants. However I find the broth are rather bland - the issue I have with most phos I have had. Also the smallest size is $11 for pho which was rather pricey and the portion was too big for me still. I'd rather they charge less for smaller portion. The interior is actually quite nice and big despite looking nothing special from outside. Service is pretty good.
Chryssie Swarbrick
Great pho, amazingly clear broth and excellent flavour. Noodles were soft, slippery and perfect! Interior seems clean and service was fast. Will definitely go back.
Karen
The pho is amazingly delicious! Cannot fault it - I order the rare beef medium which is large, filling and delicious. And the staff are lovely also which is always a pleasure dining there.
Sash
A very casual & non-descriptive Vietnamese eatery in Richmond of many other similar joints. Menu choices are very limited but there is no problem there. As these guys served me One of the best Chicken Noodle Soup, that I have had in recent times. <br/>It was packed with flavours and every ingredient used was fresh. Another nice touch was serving every noodle soup with a strand of fresh basil 🌿 <br/><br/>Also, I would recommend their ‘Vietnamese Ice Coffee’. It was absolutely amazing. <br/><br/>Would definitely recommend this place, for a quick humble & cheap lunch/dinner.
Christine Le
My go to place if I’m craving pho. Very spacious and nice interior designing. Great staff and lovely environment. They are not stingy with their food so definitely head here for some bomb pho
Vanessa
This Vietnamese restaurant has recently moved to a new location, a couple of buildings down the road. The new place is a lot more spacious. Prices of certain dishes and beverages have also increased. But the taste of pho is still the same - great balance, not too salty or sweet. Prompt service, efficient staff. NOTE: There’s a 1.5% surcharge if you pay by card.
Hangry Mama
Stopped in for a pre-show lunch with Miss 4 and the folks in tow. I ordered my chicken pho and my old man had the beef brisket pho, mother dearest had grilled chicken vermicelli salad and Miss 4 has prawn spring rolls.<br/><br/>First up, can I say the broth for my pho was the clearest broth I've ever had. Wow, great job there and the chicken was so tender and fresh, another tick there. The overall flavour was pleasant but I felt it lacked spice in the broth, mainly that of the star anise. I noticed the beef broth seemed to have it more so.<br/><br/>From what I tasted of the spring rolls they were delicious. They had a good clean flavour and the pastry was golden and crispy. I really enjoyed the few bites Miss 4 allowed me to have.<br/><br/>Good value for money and fairly fast service. I'm not in the area much but if you're in the mood for pho give this place a go.<br/><br/>This Mama is Hangry no more, thanks guys!
Danielle Wu
The pho was just ok, but the service was really bad. They forgot one meal of us without any explanation and forgot the veggies for the pho as well.

<br/>3 words to best describe? Cheap. Authentic. Outstanding.<br/><br/>Food: As stated, prices are bang for your buck. Less than $15 for a large bowl of authentic Pho or Bun Bo Hue? Surely it can't get any better. It undeniably will leave you with a full stomach, a smile on your face, and heart full of love for this place! Drinks are delicious and always compliment the bowls of noodles well, and the spring rolls are so juicy and crunchy! I would proudly say they make the best Pho in Melbourne! (I'm Vietnamese so you can trust me 😉)<br/><br/>Customer service: nice and welcoming. Food comes out promptly. Managers and waiters are one of the sweetest people you'd meet! <br/><br/>Atmosphere: the restaurant is clean and well managed! This place is a new venue as well (they moved a couple of stores down) so everything is squeaky clean! <br/><br/>Definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone! <br/><br/>

Recommended by a local to this pho joint and it has not dissapoint, vege pho was a tad bland but the beef pho was good! Homemade vege spring roll is a must and overall quite tasty.
Pandy
Delicious pho. Fresh ingredients. The soup is a bit too salty for my taste. They recently moved to a new location, the interior is nice and spacious. Friendly service. There’s a bit of delay to my order, but all sorted out in the end.
Stefani Shi
Got there late before closed and also ordered the spring roll. I can say it may be the best pho in Melbourne. The size is quite large(medium size in the pic) and is enough for one person.
Sonia M
One of the best places for pho in Richmond. The beef pho comes in three portion sizes with prices starting at $10. I got the medium portion for $11 and found it very filling. Friendly staff and quick service. Will visit here again whenever I am in Richmond.

The Best Pho in Melbourne!<br/><br/>This place is busy and for good reason - the pho soup noodle dishes are excellent. The pho was nice and hot, perfectly balanced , not overly salty or oily and came with heaps of meat. They offer 3 sizes SML with the usual condiments. l modified my pho and the sraff were happy to oblige. Go early as this place is small and very popular.
Catherine Widyaputri Suprapto
Rich pho flavours. Their beef slices & meatballs are fresh, soft and tender as well. They offer big portion, it’s perfect for sharing. The restaurant is clean, which makes me feel comfortable about eating here. Lovely place, I’d come back.

Despite being loyal to my favourite I❤️Pho just a block further, I decided to try PHV because of its high rating on zomato. Was a little disappointed with the pho as the beef slices were cut way too thick and chunky which made the dish look unprofessionally prepared. However the prawn rice paper rolls stole the spotlight, accompanied by an intense flavored Viet iced white coffee! Will probably return just for those :)
Vy Nguyen
As someone who grew up with home made pho I was pleasantly surprised by the pho here! The broth was rich and ingredients very fresh. I will be recommending this place to any friends visiting Richmond for some classic Viet food.
Vivian
Probably my favourite place to have pho in Richmond now! The broth is clear and full of flavour . Bun bo hue was also quite nice , this is my go to dish so I usually boycott if I don’t like the Bbh
The Hand That Bites
The pho was nice. But not like I was expecting from the commnets. Certainly wasn't the best I've had and I'm hoping there's better in the city. The portions were generous and the service was good. The basil served with the pho was very fresh and the extra beef was also very good value. The triple colour drink was also a sweet treat. The only thing that put me off was the amount of drug ridden people causing trouble at the row of shops where the restaurant is situated. There was a Vietnamese guy selling ice on the street.
The Go Go Mumma
The best Phò, I’ve had since moving to Melbourne. Albeit we’ve only been here 6months. However, this place came highly recommended by a close girlfriend. The only things you need to know:<br/><br/>The price, excellent. <br/>Atmosphere, buzzing and busy <br/>Pho, fresh and A-mazingly delicious <br/><br/>Enough said, go and get your phò on!!
Jessica
As a previous regular of St Albans, Footscray and Springvale Pho restaurants - I found myself a bit lost when I moved to this area recently.<br/><br/>We now find ourselves dining here almost every week. Our usual is Beef Pho w/ Slices Beef, Brisket & Beef Balls. Just like my mum’s home cooking.<br/><br/>Broth is great, flavoursome, rich but not greasy. Noodles are never over cooked and the mints, lemon and bean sprouts are always fresh. Check this place out for an honest bowl of Pho!
Chris
I am really disturbed to find out that the comments i left under Tony Dinh's recent review of this restaurant keeps getting DELETED by some unknown forces, now for the SECOND TIME despite my attempt to re-post. Something smells very fishy, and I cant help but suspect foul play. It seems as though Tony Dinh (and his crew Sarah Tan & Liz Park) are purposely trying to sabotage this restaurant by leaving horrible reviews and deleting any comments from the public that tries to bring back justice. On behalf of the readers here, as well as for Zomato, and for the restaurant itself, I am reposting again hopefully for the last time, this time in the shape of a review instead of a comment to prevent it from being deleted by the perpetrators who clearly have no respect for others and have no consideration for karma. Plus, I'm rating it 5/5 cos I still stand true to my words, and my taste buds, and cos this restaurant deserves it.<br/><br/>[REPOST] - "I ate pho at this restaurant today and it was as good as always. In fact I've been eating at this restaurant for many years now, and never once have I ever had my orders misplaced, smelt 'bad odour', or experienced food poisoning, or had concerns for their food safety. In fact the reason I frequent this restaurant is for their consistency of serving quality food. To me, the only inconsistency here is this outlandish review of yours. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion when it comes to taste, but when hundreds of other customers are totally fine after eating the same daily batch of pho broth as you, i simply cannot believe you."

Very full with a large beef combination pho and mix spring roll for 2 people. Very professional and traditional pho in Richmond. This outlet is not so big but very famous in Mel

My partner has suffered food poisoning after eating rotten beef in the pho from here. After our traumatic experience I will not be returning to what used to be our favourite pho restaurant.<br/><br/>Not only were we served rotten food, the waiter got my takeaway order wrong and gave me something completely different. When the food came out it had a strong smell of bleach used to clean toilets and floors (which I recognise as I used to work in a restaurant) and it was clear the waiter had handled the food with his cleaning gloves. The waiter was wearing these gloves the whole night while serving us. <br/><br/>What's worse was the way the manager and her staff handled the situation. We were patient and polite as we did not want to cause a scene - however they did not apologise for either mistakes. The waiter yelled at us that we made the wrong order and that it was our fault. It was extremely bizarre, something I have never witnessed before. The staff tonight were incredibly rude and clearly have no understanding of customer service or safe food handling.<br/><br/>I will be reporting this restaurant as the pho has caused my partner to be ill. <br/><br/>To whoever owns this restaurant - please re-train your staff in food handling and customer service as I do not want others to experience what we did.
Esther Lee
My pho was off - meat was putrid and broth had foul taste and smell. When staff were alerted they refused my money back and were so rude. <br/><br/>I have a feeling they are breaching health codes in the kitchens - I will never come here again.
Nutsandbolts
A great place for a quick, tasty and well balanced pho. The set up is basic and a bit crammed however they serve a commendable pho here in a choice of three sizes. If you have a pho craving and don't mind being crammed, this is definitely a place to check out.
Steven Gu
Pho hung vuong at Richmond. A nice beef noodle but I still prefer the one in Footscray. Spring rolls are also nice. So far I like Yong Ji is the best as all.
Speccy
Has taken me a while to steer back to pho on vic st, after an unsavory or unPHOgettable experience at a premises the shall remain unnamed, (although you can read my previous reviews & find out) After some research, I read that here was supposed to be the pho on Vic st. I concur. Clean & not too noisy. Staff are friendly. The slices of chicken & beef were of good quality & the broth tasted fresh. The beef with the brisket was SO flavorful - i'd say yummier than the chicken
Franks
First visit here, I tried it out after reading other positive reviews and I agree. The Sliced Beef Pho was very tasty and no added MSG from what I could tell. The service was friendly & quick.
PS91
Great pho and no wonder, as it's always busy. But service is quick and the wait won't be long. Beef is always fresh and tender and so are all the other ingredients that go in with the soup. And the stock is always rich, flavoursome and just the best comfort food to be had - especially on those cold cold days to warm you up from the inside out.
Food Coma Survivor
Favourite place for Vietnamese in Melbourne!!! I always order the pork vermicelli or the prawn spring roll vermicelli. It's so delicious, they are generous with vegetables and the sauce. The spring rolls are crispy and hot, fresh out of the deep fryer. I love coming here, even though the space is a little cramped. Been here a few times and ordered pho before, also really really delicious.
Baby Kitty
10/10 pho. Best pho in Melbourne. The broth and ratio is just right. My go to pho place since 2011. I come here everytime I am in the area. The Footscray store is also great too.
Ignatia
I've been to their branch in Springvale, which is their first Pho Hung Vuong branch, but I like this one better for some reason. What I normally have is the sliced chicken pho (it's $10 for a small one – enough portion for me personally), which I think is the best in Melbourne and I highly recommend. If you want an entree, their 6pcs spring rolls are also good.
Knife Fork N Chopsticks
I ran a search on Google for one of the best places for pho in Melbourne and this place came up in the search. I came here on a Tuesday, in the late afternoon, and it was pretty much empty, there was a few other tables dining.<br/><br/>I ordered a medium bowl of pho with sliced beef and brisket with a raw egg yolk, a large bowl of combination pho with a raw egg yolk, rice paper rolls with pork and prawns, a soy milk, and a four colour drink. The food came out pretty quickly, and everything looked clean and fresh, and the soup was steaming hot.<br/><br/>The rice noodles in the pho were beautifully cooked, little bit springy, not overcooked, in long strands, and not chopped up. The meat was tender and delicious, and I was so busy mixing up the raw meat to cook it and being excited to eat it that I forgot about my raw egg and accidentally broke it and mixed it up into the soup. The soup itself was very flavorful without resorting to the heavy use of MSG, and tasted wonderful. As my egg yolk burst, my friend kindly gave me theirs, but the egg yolk was a little bit of a let down, it tasted a bit strange and didn't have that beautiful egg yolk creaminess, and the outside of the yolk felt like a weird skin, like when hot milk cools and forms a skin. The rice paper rolls were very fresh, and tasted great dipped in the sauce, although I'd like a little less lettuce and perhaps some (more?) mint in it instead.<br/><br/>The soy milk was store bought, but helped combat the chilliness of the sauce and the chilli and hoisin dipping I made for my beef. The four colour drink was delicious, and very creamy, there was a very strong taste of coconut milk.<br/><br/>Service was good, very prompt and efficient. I paid about $42 for my meal for two, and considering how delicious it was and how full I felt afterwards, this place is really very cheap.<br/><br/>TIP: the bowls are misleadingly filling, and especially if you get an entree with your meal, perhaps consider downsizing your bowl to avoid being bloated like I was.
Cynthia Giang
A reminder of those hearty Springvale pho eateries. Staff are nice and quick, delivering that infamous brusk service you'd expect from such a place. The pho broth is reasonably good, although not the best I have had. Portions and pricing are filling and fair.
Chai
Nice Pho!! Had "Beef Combination" and satisfied with the taste, price and quantity. Their Pho soup is flavourful and I'm kinda addicted. Spring rolls and rice paper rolls were just normal.
Bailey Mulholland
I am so obsessed with this place! Their broth is the nicest of all the ones in Melbourne I've tried and does wonders if you are sick or hungover 😉
Christine
I am picky when it comes to Pho and usually the only time I eat Pho is at home. With the high turnover and demand of Pho, few Pho restaurants maintain their quality. But Pho Hung Vuong 2 is one of the few restaurants on Victoria St that brings home-made quality in their soup, noodles and beef. 🌟🌟🌟🌟/5<br/><br/>I ordered the classic sliced beef with noodles in medium size ($11).<br/><br/>The most important part of the dish is the soup. What you want to look for in a good bowl of Pho is a light layer of bubbles/oil and slightly dark brown. This indicates the stock has been cooking for a while and has not been diluted. <br/><br/>Pho Hung Vuong's soup was perfect. The soup was light and flavourful. There was no need to add sauces to flavour. While the beef was soft and cut not too thin or thick.<br/><br/>Service is friendly and fast. Be sure to bring cash as it's a cash only place. It's no glamorous place. It's a casual place that definitely will hit your cold heart this winter and make you feel home-y. <br/><br/><br/><br/><br/>
Irving L
A very reasonable Pho but has a sweet aftertaste.Nothing to crow about.Soup is served "warmish" rather than hot so doesn't do it for me.At this point Pho Hung Vuong in Footscray still has it for me.
Zhen
Yes yes yes. Pho has been consistently delicious! Generous with the portion. I wish the soup could be hotter to cook my sliced beef but I've been ordering the spicy beef noodle soup lately. SOOO GOOD. All in all, Highly highly recommend!
Mitochondria Powerhouse
I think this place does the best pho in Melbourne. Very tasty, clear broth with a nice mouth feel. I've only had the beef broth, and spicy beef soups but I hear the chicken pho is good too. The other dishes they serve are good aswell - would recommend the grilled pork noodle salad if you're not feeling like pho

One of our favourite places for pho, very tasty broth and nice pork spring rolls as well. This is a family favourite including some of my cousins and aunts as well. Have taken many people here and they have all left happy. Service is quick. Have been here quite a few times and will be back again.

I have two favourite Pho places in Victoria Street, this and 'I Love Pho' at either end of the hood. This broth is 'meatier' more robust in flavour and I find 'I Love Pho's' broth more subtle with delicate spices. Sometimes I feel like one, sometimes the other. Both are excellent and I'm glad to be a fan of both places.

Brilliant Pho - we are regulars to other Pho houses on Victoria street, but were recommended this place tonight and came straight here. Best in class by far - superb liquor and excellent ingredients. Clean and comfortable. Most highly recommended

This place has been my favourite Pho place for as long as I can remember. Generous servings, decent pricing and a lovely broth. The fit out has been updated (a while back) to feel a lot more welcoming and the staff are always quick n efficient. <br/><br/>Overall, still my fav place to go for Pho in Richmond, and Melbourne for that matter. Highly recommended!

Been coming here all my life, this place is the sole reason why I love pho.<br/><br/>Tender, quality raw beef, rich flavourful broth with smooth noodles. Although portions are on the moderate side, you can always visit Nhu Lan next door for a Pâté chaud or Banh mi.<br/><br/>I've also been hearing good things about Pho An, wonder how the two size up?..
Kotix
I've tried all of the most of the places on Victoria street, being a local, and I believe this is one of the best Pho places in Richmond, probably second to Chu The. The meat is where it shines, specifically the tripe and the tendon are delicious and soft. Many struggle with hard tendon or chewy tripe, but these guys have got it down pat. It loses out on flavoursome broth though compared to one or two others.
CLABEL
Tried the grilled chicken vermicelli salad which was alright. Pho was good and big, tasty as well. Staff were okay but lack of understanding of english.

Tried this joint out noting it's very highly rated, plus I was looking for Pho plus I was in the area.<br/><br/>I am perplexed at its high review and cannot say I share the same experience with the highly rated reviewers.<br/><br/>Firstly, service was normal for any Asian joint, not really attentive or better than any Pho place. In fact, our pho and drinks were put down on the table without much of a word on which is which. It was a little of an issue for our drinks - a jackfruit smoothie and green bean drink - both of the same colour.<br/><br/>Secondly the broth. Not sure if it's just because we were here on a bad broth day but the soup was very thin (not much taste) and oily. I am looking for well simmered broth which I couldn't find here. I find only a superficial taste of the pho soup.<br/>The soup did come hot and the sliced beef slightly rare as it should be presented.<br/><br/>We also had the pork spring rolls as a side. The lettuce given was plentiful but the spring rolls so tiny one can hardly taste them in the lettuce.<br/><br/>The price is reasonable and comparable with all other pho places in the area, with a choice of small, medium and large. Service is minimal and reasonable. Food does turn up fast. <br/><br/>All in all, it's just an average pho place with reasonably okay pho and service. <br/><br/>

Victoria Street... Known by some (and believed by me) as the best food street in Melbourne. And Pho Hung Vuong has to be my favourite spot here to slurp noodle soup. <br/><br/>The staff here are some of the friendliest I have ever experienced without being oveebearing. Prices are just right, with a small bowl (all you will need) costing around $10, give or take 50c as it recently changed. Either way, this price is absurd considering the quality of the food on display here. <br/><br/>My usual order is the sliced beef and Brisket bowl, or the beef combo bowl w all off the above plus beef balls and tripe etc. if I've got a hankering for texture. The bowls come out fast here, but not before they are preceded by a bowl of Basil, fresh chilli, lime and beansprouuts. Yum. <br/><br/>After you have helped yourself to the delicious complimentary tea, your soup will come and you will be filled with joy. I like to put in beansprouuts and fresh chilli and halfway thru add basil and the delicious chilli oil condiment on every table. The broth here is just so delightful. Delicately spiced and thoughtful seasoned as not to be too salty. <br/><br/>This is my fave spot and I could not reccomend it enough. Have this place a visit, you will not regret it.

By far the best tasting Pho in Victoria. I really like this place and it hasn't let me down once yet.<br/><br/>Staff are friendly and service is quick. The servings are generous and you don't have that horrible overdose of MSG a few hours later like in some other places.

Pho Adventure in Melbourne #1<br/><br/>As a traveller and Pho lovers i have tried heaps of Pho around Asia, so i do know one or two things about traditional Pho and also a good Pho.<br/><br/>The pho here was average, no aromatics of spice from the Pho, the noodles was Ok seems like a semi rehyrated noodle type. The stock was dense so you can taste the umami but no flavours of the spices, the brown broth was lacking.<br/><br/>An avarage bowl of Pho that im not rushing back for ..... Until next time ... Keep eating!*!<br/><br/><br/>

Cheap, delicious and quick! What more could you ask for! A really casual joint for delicious soup noodles. Spring rolls were great too- definitely not your average frozen spring roll- tasty! Only complaint is I think it's cash only or something, and sometimes soup isn't 100% hot but apart from that food is really good- cheap isn't always bad!
Kayluminati Nati
Only ever order the slice beef noodles and have yet to try any other noodle dish.<br/>The beef is somewhat raw and steeping in aromatic steamy soup. I have always enjoyed the quality off beef which is sliced thingly but not sparingly. Love to order the 3 coloured drink as the seeetness of the beans, coconut milk and semi-firm jelly peices make a real fun dessert. As always the soups are accompanied by a generous amount of beansprouts and mint with a side serve garnish of lemon and salt. On the table is complementary tea and a selection of condiments to tailor a soup to your liking.<br/>I sometimes to to mix hoisin, satay, chilli sauce, lemon and mint to create a sweet, hot and spicy bowl of yumminess.<br/>
EatMeMelbourne
I've never ordered anything other than the beef pho because I've never wanted to. It's brought to your table in record time, piping hot, full of flavour and truly satisfying. A small size is more than enough for me so awesome value too!

Fav pho place in the whole of Melbourne! The secret behind good pho is always the broth, and the broth here is always robust and complex. The rice paper rolls are always freshly made, served with delicious sweet Chilli fish sauce as the perfect accompaniment.
Live_in_melbourne
Whenever I go to this area I come here and have my favorite pho in Melbourne! Enjoy their hot tea and especially the chilli sauce. Used to order the large pho but the quantity is king size! Now we love order a bowl of pho, grilled pork on rice and spring roll. Super tasty.
Salvale
Get in, eat yummy pho and get out. That's what I do! I am a regular visitor to this place and I've never had a bad meal. Don't expect anything other than your food though!

Been to many pho places around Melby.. Prefer this place bcz of their soup and noodles is nicer than other pho places but i find the meat slightly chewy.. Overall good.. Will visit again

Has to be the best Pho in Melbourne. Delicious broth that is perfect. Generous portion size. The service is also super quick as you would expect for a Pho restaurant

UPDATE<br/>Still consistent ... APR 18<br/><br/>PREVIOUS<br/>Upstairs or Downstairs .....One of the best looking Pho shop along Victoria Street, Richmond, a bit squeeze downstairs and much roomier upstairs.Absolutely one of the tastiest broth, on the sweet side, just add a bit more pepper, lemon, fresh-cut chillies and fish sauce, maybe more chilly sauce for dipping those rare beef and tripes.Always a match made in heaven with their Spring rolls and Three Colours drink.Enjoy ....
Coffee And Food
One of the best pho in Richmond so far. Soup temperature was hot and yummy. Noodle is fresh and you can mix the meats you want. Spring rolls are great too. Environment are clean and comfortable.
Judene Messi
Don't see what the buzz is about for this place? Didn't like their soup as I felt that I was literally drinking msg. I reckon the one at Springvale is still the best. Nevertheless we were greeted with friendly smiles and quick service so thumbs up for that :)

Geez I love pho - it's one of my favourite meals and definately a comfort food dish for me.  I've been lucky to have it in Vietnam and even luckier that I have an amazing place that does incredible pho just a quick 10 minute drive from where I live in Brisbane.<br/><br/>So it was on a week in my beloved Melbourne, staying in Richmond, that I found myself here for a late lunch/early dinner one evening.  Welcome was warm and friendly and menu and water quickly on the table.  But unfortunately the pho tai just didn't live up to my high hopes.  I don't know why, but it just seemed to be lacking in flavour and depth - and the chillis served on the side simply had no heat to them.  I put loads in and couldn't get any chilli hit at all - usually I'm popping in one or two and taking them out a few minutes later - but these things were just red bits of nothingness.<br/><br/>Shame really as I am in Melbourne a lot - but I don't think I will be back here because it just didn't leave an impression.  Don't get me wrong, it wasn't awful or anything and perhaps their other food is great - but for pho, a bit of a let down.

I was craving for pho when I was on Victoria Street and decided to go to Hung Vuong 2 of all other pho restaurants because we thought it would be like Hung Vuong in Footscray. It turned out it was nothing alike except the name.<br/><br/>After we were seated, we figured the cups of hot tea had a strong detergent smell and asked for new cups. Same horrible smell. I ordered the special beef pho and the soup was too sweet, the beef slices were so dry and tasteless. It was a great disappointment as I wonder how hard it is for them to make a bowl of pho right? Honestly if you want more authentic pho, super bowl does it better. And Super bowl isn't even that authentic.
Convivialsins
One of the best in the area along with Chu The (Richmond). Like most restaurants I am finding that the successful Pho joints always encounter inconsistency issues. <br/><br/>This place however has been one of my favourites for a while. it was nvr one to be striking or out there in terms of flavour like the I love Pho (when it was first started) and the superbowl. They have a distinct broth. These guys use a sweeter broth and u don't need a gallon of water to hold down ur forced msg addiction. it maybe b masked but they sure do a good job of making it taste 'homely'. <br/><br/>Pho Hung Vuong 2 and Chu The (Richmond) have been quite consistent in my weekly Friday eatings.
Mk Anes
Not sure how this place has a 4.2 rating when there are so many other better Pho restaurants down Victoria St. Very disappointing service- ordered three bowls of pho but they came out with five and made us pay for the five pho bowls.. Never coming back that's for sure
Cynthia Tjahyadi
Went to Pho Hung Vuong with my friends cause they said that pho in here is more delicious rather than in the city. So i tried the one with beef and the beef ball. It was good! I love the beef ball! The small size is $11 , medium $12 and large $14 or $15 if i not mistaken. So i order medium and finished it all by myself! 😱.. If you went with your friends, you can order the large and share it! Ahahahha more cheaper 😝.. <br/>
Hello World!
The restaurant has some aspects to improve. The cleanness of the restaurant needs some improvement. There were some rice noodle on chairs which means it was not properly cleaned. Pho was ok! However my raw beef was a bit sour tasted.
Imojaune
Our favourite local to stop in for a quick and tasty dinner. We always leave feeling full. They have a limited menu but our order never changes, sliced beef pho. It's so tasty, best broth I've tried, lots of fresh bean shoots, basil and lemon to add and a generous noodle serving. We love taking others here to share the experience. The staff do what is necessary and take your order promptly, no nonsense. Dinner for two for under 20 bucks? Yes please!
LittleMissPiggy
Really good pho but REALLY BAD SERVICE! Went here before work with some friends, waited a little to get served but not complaining because the pho was delicious with heaps of meat and all the condiments and extras you need at your table... As for the staff, they are extremely rude and unhelpful, rolling their eyes if we asked for things and telling us we had to wait even though there no other customers... Disappointing!
Beth Sands
Try the beef pizzle for shizzle my nizzle.
Eliza23
A Pho restaurant needs to get a few things right. Entree needs to have a good serving of spring rolls that includes dipping sauce and lettuce. Pho needs to have plenty of chicken that is good quality. Service needs to be quick, as you tend to get Pho for a quick meal. <br/><br/>As you can guess by the score Pho Hung does all this. :)
Bon Bon
Used to come here for lunch with my colleagues . They have a tucked in stair leading to first floor for more seating during peak hours. After renovation, this is my first time. I love their pho, simple and rich in flavour. I can't tell you any difference between theirs and many others on the same street. However, I haven't came across any bad tasting soup in this place. In the cbd, some established pho bar doesn't serve their soup close to this taste. What I don't like is that they dont have an extensive menu which serve banh xeo, boh la lut which are also my favourite. .
Mrobin
Hands down the best you'll get. <br/>Once you sit down and order you'll be eating within minutes. I occupy a table in there at least once weekly, I have branched out and I regret it. I even lived in Vietnam last year for a bit and what I had there still wasn't comparable. <br/>Bloody love it.

There is a lot to love, and a lot to put up with, when dining on Victoria Street. At times the less appealing aspects (to put it lightly) ruin the whole experience. Tonight we had walked for around 30 minutes to get here so it was only hunger, and the promise of some good pho, that meant we didn’t turn around and head back to safety. All I can say is that Victoria Street needs a dramatic clean-up, which I’m sure all the good businesses on the street have been asking for (for a long time). Luckily the unsavoury characters outside are not interested in soup, and the door of Pho Hung Vuong 2 provides a degree of separation.

All along Victoria Parade you'll find dozens of Vietnamese restaurants selling pho for similar prices, so it's hard to choose. This place has a newer and clean store front and has high ratings, so I decided to go. We split a large beef pho (#7) and and the grilled pork vermicelli (#18) between 3 people and we were struggling to finish. The pho broth was nice, rich, and flavorful. The vermicelli was okay, but I found the noodles a little too cold and stiff, despite soaking in the sauce. Also, I like when a variety of meat combination options are available for vermicelli in one bowl, whereas the restaurant had 2 separate options of either grilled pork or spring rolls.
Kate Edwards
I think this is the best pho we've had in Melbourne. Rich, beefy broth, not too salty, fast friendly service and crunchy, delicious veggie spring-rolls. So happy we decided to eat there tonight! My husband kept mumbling "pho-licious" in between mouthfuls.
Robin Yang
Finding a fantastic Phò restaurant is not an easy task at anytime in Melbourne but trying to find one in Richmond is near impossible when every third shop sells Phò. <br/><br/>Phò Hung Vuong 2 will quench all your beef noodle soup cravings. The place has simple decor with TV screens displaying some photos of food served. Reasonably priced for the servings, what I appreciate most is the quality of the beef. Never seen any fat on the numerous times I have eaten here. Accompany your Phò with some spring rolls, chase it down with a tea and you will leave satisfied.
Clemencia Liliana
Little restaurant nothing fancy! Don't expect table cloth or napkins!!!!Great Pho soup! Been there 3 times!!! Simply love it. Not at all expensive!

Been told that this one of the best Viet restaurant on the street and I must say that they are simply delicious. Great value for money, tried the combination beef pho for $9. Small space but will be back for their pho :)
Maggie Hunter
This is our favourite beef pho place. The hot steaming pho soup with fresh coriander and vietnamese mint, along with tender sliced beef and soft tendon is the best. Don't forget to order the prawn and pork spring roll
Dennis Vegan
The beef special with ALL THE THINGS is still my favourite, medium is the best size to avoid too much of a post-Pho-food-coma.<br/><br/>Get the soup, chuck in the bean sprouts, lemon, basil, eat the stuff, pay the moneys (CASH ONLY), feel the love.
Melbourne Foodie Memoirs
This is our regular pho restaurant. The pho here is reliably tasty and the service is incredibly quick, which is great when you are very hungry.
Minyip
Delicious pho, hearty broth packed with flavour. Have had better spring rolls elsewhere, ours were a little overcooked. Preferred pho joint on Vic st.
MissyNess
As promised I said I will review all 3 in this chain. So the second Hung Vuong is located in Richmond on Victoria Street, again they specialize in pho. I visted with D this time, we both got a noodle soup each and spring rolls to share. I got my usual slice beef with tripe. This came with a very generous amount of slice beef and the thicker type of tripe. The soup was very intense in a home style way, it was a rich and flavoursome broth but it reminded me of my friend's home-cooking when she makes me pho.
Amcleod1984
First time having pho in Melbourne and I wasn't disappointed. On a cold wintery day the free hot tea was a nice touch. Servings are bigger than most, which is great. Fast and friendly service.
Jasmine Trinh
So delicious just like my mother's Pho! inexpensive and delicious, what more could you want?! Making the trip out to Richmond was so worth the Pho.
Marcel S.
I've been here once to try as my favorite place for pho is this restaurant, but in Footscray. It was definitely a very nice pho, but not the same as the main restaurant. Luckily I live closer to Footscray than Richmond :)
Marie
Damn good! Had a medium chicken pho which was more than filling. Good service despite it being extremely busy during lunch rush hour. Will be back!
Denise Ong
Good Pho. Had the one with beef and brisket. Soup is really flavorful. They have good cold rolls too. My friends and I had the prawn and pork roll. Portions are pretty big too :) Will definitely come back again!
ItsTrueFatKidsLoveFood
Probably my favourite Pho place in Richmond. Have been here plenty of times, and the broth is always delicious. The sliced beef is my favourite, the medium bowl is very filling, so normally there's no need to go for a large.
Hula Jarmusch
About as good as Pho can get and easily one of the kings in Richmond if not melbourne. A lot of Pho places lack consistency, sometimes their broth is rich and strong, other days it's bland and weak... this place dishes up the same quality every single day.

Melbourne Diner. BEST PHO IN MELBOURNE IF NOT THE WORLD !
Foodie Gal
Amazing Pho, fast and cheap. Love it!!
Tteoh
The soup is another distinctive element, smooth, sweet and salty with a very strong beef fragrance, much akin to beef stock with the addition of herbs. It is flavourful and delicious, not always the case at all other restaurants. You are provided with condiments, and other toppings such as bean sprouts, mint, chilli and lemon to modify it to your tastes, but I find that it is nice enough without needing to add anything else.

Every so often after our church mass ends on Sundays, Jan and I love driving by Victoria Street and have dinner around Richmond. It was freezing that night and we knew we wanted a good bowl of warm and meaty Pho! Out of the countless Vietnamese restaurants after restaurants, o n the list that night was  Pho Hung Vuong 2 . Jan ordered a large sized bowl while I ordered the small. Don't judge me I had a full bowl of frozen yoghurt right before this meal. Oh... sin. The amount of bean sprouts were bounteous. I have never liked putting raw bean sprouts to my hot pho. Not only would it not cook well, it cools my soup too fast and I would end up having a lukewarm soup and not a hot one. So.. trying to make the most out of our dollars, we requested for a takeaway bowl for our bean sprouts to be brought home. At least our home cooked fibre/vegetable dish was settled for the next day. I don't know if this behaviour is considered and stereotyped as cheap Asians or smart Asians? I think its just
Chasing A Plate
...Phở Hung Vuong 2, a bit of a phở stalwart which recently had a facelift. The space is bright, clean, and simple. Phở, bún bò Húê, a couple of rice and vermicelli dishes and fresh spring rolls are on offer. I can never go past the simplicity of phở with sliced beef whilst TBS decides to amp his up with sliced beef, brisket and fat. The bean sprouts, wedges of juicy lime, sliced chilli and herbs which we load into our bowls are unfailingly fresh. The broth has a great depth of flavour but it’s also very clean tasting. The thinly sliced beef is pink and slowly cooks in the liquid but remains tender. The noodles are plentiful and very slurpable. This is comfort food...

Both my pho broth and also the grilled pork vermicilli was on the sweet side. Too sweet for our liking. But, I did think that the ingredients in my pho was exceptionally fresh. Very naturally fragrant and did not have any smell in the meat, cooked till just tender. If only the sweetness didn't turn me off that much...
Let Me Feed You
I like my pho aromatic, with lots of noodles, blushing pink beef, and a healthy handful of bean shoots, mint and lemon. Pho Hung Vuong 2 in Victoria Street is the place to get it.
Meld Magazine
Pho Hung Vuong has been around as far as I can remember. A little eatery among the Vietnamese food oasis that is Victoria Street, the restaurant provides eat-in and take away.<br/><br/>As a regular visitor, I’ve found their beef pho to be particularly impressive. It comes in three different sizes, like most pho eateries, with your choice of chicken, beef, both or added sausage.<br/><br/>A strong clear soup that lets its ingredients really speak for itself, good quality beef and a decent serving makes this a hearty meal for any occasion. It’s packed full of flavour and is one of the best tasting soups around.
Gastrology
Although there are quite a few options for pho in the area there are a few things that ensure my repeated visit - the staff are warm and helpful, they offer three serving sizes for their pho (small, regular and large) and the use of fresh ingredients.
Leon Poggioli
Quick, friendly service, great value. I admire efficiency, and the people at Pho Hung Vuong have the routine well under control. Quick, friendly service, most meals are under $10, all the tea you can drink for free... a great place to get a casual Vietnamese
Mo Nguyen
YUM!!. Pho Hung Vuong is the best pho shop on Victoria St. Simple as that. Although the quality of the broth has reduced over the years, this gem is still the place to go to to get a warm, comforting bowl of pho. And OMG the smell coming from this place is divine! I can't walk past without stopping in for some food. The beef pho is the classic and honestly it's the best one.
Andrew Boyle
Best pho in town. Quite simply the best pho I've had in Melbourne. The richly flavoured broth perfectly compliments the freshest ingredients, tender beef and silky noodles. Pho Hung Vuong 2 understands the simplest things can often be the best. Will be back for more.
Pg41
Yummiest pho. Have had the beef pho and the vegetarian vermicelli salad. <br/><br/>My absolute favourite is the vegetarian pho, although the broth does taste very much like chicken. So aromatic and flavourful. <br/><br/>Cheap, easy and delicious. Staff always friendly too.
Dreamboat
Have been going to Pho Hung Vuong with a few of my work colleagues recently and have to say that the soups are flavour some with the broth rich and intense. Thumbs up.
Acameron
Amazing spring rolls and the Pho was alright as well, until my spoon fell in the soup.
Coffee Lover
Amazing Pho and amazing value!
Mario Pastorini
They need to not do this.. I went for some pho on Saturday. It is not acceptable when a restaurant is full to seat someone at a table you are sitting at because their restaurant is full and they have to fit more people in. The pho (sliced beef) tasted pretty good but the stock was not the usual strength and there seemed to be less meat. While I would say the pho here is good I am going try some other pho places before and if I ever come back here again. Sitting someone at a table you are sitting at because the restaurant is full and they are greedy is poor customer service. They might have sold one more pho by seating someone at my table but they are going to lose that and more in future because I won't be coming back. I hope they read this review and endeavor to treat their customers better in the future.

Best Pho!. Brilliant Pho! Plenty of chicken pieces and not to salty. A really cheap lunch.

I just Died. Best pho in town. Period.

My favourite pho place in melbourne, the pho is the best without a doubt.
I Like Food
BEST PHO EVER. I've eaten a lot of pho in my lifetime and the place is by far the best I've had. Okay so the space is a bit (a lot) cramped but service is quick and the pho is incredible. Hot steamy soup with all the authentic accessories (bean sprouts, chilli, lemon, Vietnamese mint etc.) accompanied with lots of noodle and delicious tender sliced rare beef, all at a crazy cheap price. So much food, such good quality and great value for money. Note: DO NOY PURCHASE THE LARGE SIZED NOODLES if you're eating it on your own. I KID YOU NOT, IT WILL FEED A FAMILY OF 3.
J
Not yumtastic. This one gets a thumbs down as the vermicelli was just a big big no-no. Ingredients were not fresh and vermicelli was old. The spring rolls were also very very average. The only saving meal was the beef pho and white coffee, that was super tasty, but not enough to save us from never going back. They originally seated us upstairs - do not go up here, the tables were just dirty, I enjoy eating in south East Asian hawker stalls and there was more dust and dirt on these tables than the outdoor hawker stalls. The staff were friendly enough but should definitely give the tables a wipe upstairs!
Hungermonster
Shithouse.. Don't understand why it got 92% likes. We were seated in the dingy upstairs area, no service, got my partners pho order wrong and didn't even write down my drink order (and hence they forgot to give me one). Everything was dirty and when we went to pay they didn't even know which docket was our order. And no, the pho is not epic enough to salvage the rest of its shortcomings. This place is a disappointment Urbanspooners, go to Footscray for your pho!!
Lena
Too sweet. Everything was fine service-wise, the soup was hot and flavoursome with lovely fresh herbs and accoutrements, BUT the broth was way too sweet. Why the obsession with making all SE Asian dishes extra-sugary for western palates? Sugar high afterwards. Ugh.
Alison S
Mmm. Good broth, quick service. Family favourite!

Best Soup In Melbourne. We have been visiting this place for a look time. Nothing really to look at but the soup is amazing
Pork Belly
I have been going there for many years. Lately I have seen some differences.. Size has decreased, less noodles & ingredients.. Well, time to look for a new place for my pho.
The Man Who Ate Too Much
Awesome! Some of the best beef pho I've had in Australia. What they lack in ambiance, they make up for in flavour. That's some tasty broth right there!<br/>The new veg rice paper rolls are pretty damn tasty too.
Davide 'Woodie' Galteri
Love it!. Love it.. wouldn't go anywhere else for pho, tried many other places, nothing compares..

The best pho. Have some pho - it is really great,<br/>If you are lucky there will be some old James Bond movies on the TV
Peony
This place says Pho but you can get a bowl of Spicy beef vermicelli noodle soup that's totally devine.<br/>Soup really tasty and condiments of cabbage and herbs nice and fresh.<br/>Staff are very attentive and the time to receive you food is very quick even though they are very busy.<br/>The only thing is the place looks kind of tired.<br/>Needs to renovate especially the upstairs.<br/>Other than that it's a really good place to eat.

It's sad. So surprised by how accurate the review is. I am 110% agree with the comment below. This place used to be me and my partner's favorate Pho place in Melbourne and we visit this place around 1-2 times per week or even more. (Yes, we're Phoholics) We've been noticed the Pho getting out cold, the food comes out way to quick that you might wonder why and the service (The new waitress) was so poor. Actually, one of the worst service i ever received. So we are giving up to go there anymore and look for a better place in victoria st. Thank you though. It was real great at the beginning!
Fc
Disappointing. This has been my fav place for pho but I'm not what happened on this day. The moment I walked in there were unfamiliar staff, the old female staff had left and there young waiters/resses. The pho soup was lukewarm so tht the beef and sprouts did not cook through. The pho also came before the leaves were served so I had to wait a further few moments (while the soup was getting cold) and when asked where it was, the waiter said "yeah, yeah, yeah". There appears to be a change of ownership but I can't work out if this is the case???
Annie Waters
Disappointed, so much gristle in the chicken pho. The staff were lovely though and the entrees were nice.
Amy McCracken
Best Pho on Victoria St. I have lived in Richmond for 5 years and tried out a few places for Pho, and Pho Hung Vuong 2 is by far the best!
Jake Berk
Hands down best Pho on Victoria St. Beef is so tender and generous servings too. Rice paper rolls and fresh spring rolls were also delicious. Everything is so cheap, you must go!
FoodAddict
Fresh tasty food. Had pork & prawn fresh spring rolls and all the ingredients tasted very fresh, great tasting dipping sauce. The beef noodle soup was delicious with a good serving size of meat which is hard to come by. Service was efficient & friendly, prices were cheap, will be back for sure!

Pho my god!!. Awesome Pho. Will return for sure.
Dr Appetite
Excellent pho. This place was recommended to us by a relative. He was right, very good pho there. My wife liked that you could order it with only beef balls unlike other places.

Best pho on Victoria street for sure!

A+ Pho. Been a regular customer here for years and although I can't comment on the rest of the menu the Beef Pho is some of the best around.

Excellent!!!. Love this eatery to the extend that we'll be dining here at least once a forth night! The soup is rich with flavours, abundance of fresh bean sprouts and tasty sliced beef. I didn't know how great this place is until I tried the Vietnamese Mekong shop in Swanston!<br/><br/>Brought quite a number of visitors here. Even the most fussy eater loves it here, and asked to go there in their next visit in Melbourne. One of my friend even down the whole bowl of soup (didn't happen elsewherethati brought them)!<br/><br/>You can always trust the food when it's frequent by eir local Vietnamesepeeps :)
The Knitting Assassin
Onion skin!. I like how this place offers a small or regular serve of pho, most of the other places around only serve the washing up bowl size! The vegetarian pho is tasty, but on my first visit I found a lot of onion skin floating around. I visited again and asked for the vegetarian pho WITHOUT onion. It came out exactly the same as the first visit. The onion skin was very off putting and I didn't finish my dish.

Best place in Richmond. The pho is the best, over the years you can count on the same excellent consistency, the pho is just great. Well done to the staff for their warmth and just making it always the same. You can also have a conversation in there and it isn't too crowded.

No Pho better!. I have tried just about every place on Victoria street over my years living close by and can say that there is no better place for Pho in this area or anywhere for that matter.<br/><br/>Places like "I love Pho" have popped up recently and are a total let down....<br/><br/>Even things like the chilli oil they have and the spring rolls, or even their broken rice! <br/><br/><br/>See the trend?<br/><br/>Forget the rest this is THE one!

An all time favorite Pho joint in Richmond. Easily one of the best in Melbourne.

Went with a friend who recommended this place. He had the new vegetarian soup, nicely cooked vegetables with a slightly celery taste to the soup, he says it wasn't too bad, although he doesn't usually have veggie pho soup. Had my staple combination beef and was not surprised as to how good it was, thinly sliced beef, perfectly cooked pieces of tendon, even the beef sausage which i don't normally like was tasty. Yum. Will be back again.

Pho-aholic. Hung vuong 2 is by far the best beef pho on victoria street. One of my favourite dishes there is their 'special beef noodle soup'. I've been going there for lunch lately, and its great! great service, food & atmosphere!! mmm...

Best pho. This is the best pho in Melbourne hands down.<br/><br/>A strong clear soup that lets its ingredients really speak for itself, good quality beef and a decent serving make this a hearty meal for any occasion.<br/><br/>Unlike other pho restaurants around, you wont leave feeling thirsty and bloated by a whole bowl of pho at all!

Excellent Pho. This has now become our alternative No.1 restaurant for Pho. This place is clean, Pho is tasty, fresh ingredients and has service is good.<br/><br/>The only confusion was when we ordered "Iced" coffee, the waitress asked "Would you like hot or cold?"<br/><br/>Definitely coming back again and have been.

I really doubt the Rating ?!. I saw it got 88% ppl like it, so I tried. Service was really rushing (at least the elder Vietnamese lady was). They expected everyone knows what they want when they get into the store. Because she kept asking my order, I told her "One vegetarian noodle small and one beef special noodle median". She tried to repeat what I said but mumbling in her mouth and left. I thought how possibly can she get it wrong. But she did bring up two beef special instead. I told her, "We ordered one vegetarian one beef, not two beef." Then she told me They don't have vegetarian noodle, then gave the "sorry too bad for you" look and leave the noodles on our table ...WTF. In addition, the portion and noodle were so little for the both sizes. I took out the meat from the small size noodle, then I can literally count the amount of noodle left in the bowl..... Really Really Not recommend.

One of the best compare to some of the pho along this street . The viet cafe also make it better here.

Great Beef Pho. Went there after work on a wednesday night with some work mates before 'busy' time. Got a large beef pho noodle soup and had a nice tasting broth with soft noodles. The chilli always has a nice bite to it and most importantly, the beef was well cooked and enhanced its flavor into the soup. Staff were great and service was quick. Will definitely go there again for more pho.

Tried and tested. The best Phó in world famous "Little Saigon" Victoria Street, and possibly Melbourne. I accept a challenger to show me better.

While there are better places to have phở in Richmond, I don’t believe this will be the last time I’ll be dining at Pho Hung Vuong 2.
