Review Superbowl - Richmond

I've been going to I❤️PHO for over 10 years. It never disappoints. The soup is tasty, the service is super quick, and the bill is cheap.

Excellent vietnamese food! Pho is obviously fantastic but I also really like their spring rolls and rice paper rolls.

I filled in the bathtub told to guy about the water in the bathroom floor. He so ok . Went and ordered food 30 later have asked for our food and water coffee and summer rolls . While eating a young man stop by and I told him about it again. He said ok I’ll check the bathroom . My left side is in pain by now . Hopefully it will be gone after hot bath 😌

This is definitely our favorite pho place in Melbourne! It’s always packed, and you are always welcomed by the friendly staff. We generally order the Brisket (Bo Nam) and the Tofu Veggie (Pho Chay), medium size... Quick service and super yummy! Just love how oil-free Pho is and love how they place a thermos of hot green tea on each table. Will always come back for more pho.

One of my favour Pho restaurants in Richmond. Standard maintained.
Asian Sensation
Great place. Very good Pho, very generous portion, great customer service. Reliable and its my go to place in Richmond. The broth is a little bit watery though otherwise would have been great, and the place could do with a renovation. Update (Jan 2022): Unfortunately, customer service was no good on the occasion. I ordered a dish and they never brought it out, my BBH noodles was typically good, but this time very skimpy with also no beef and a couple of slices of pork slices. Downgrade to 3 stars.

We have been dining here for over ten years. Super quick service, fresh ingredient, and their rice noddle tastes better than other places. Veggie tofu pho, veggie spring rolls and rice paper rolls - our favourite! Also don’t forget to say hello to the turtle in the tank 😊

Still the best pho in Melbourne!! I had tendon beef pho :)
Eat X Wander
Came here at 9pm for a late dinner. Wasn't busy so had really fast service. Tried their beef and beef ball pho, which was yummy. Also ordered a serve of bun satay, which is vermicelli noodles with satay chicken. The serve was big and you got the satay sauce and peanuts on the side. It was a little bit dry with only the satay sauce so I asked for more fish sauce to add in. Delicious! Would come back (:
Sunny Days Melbourne
What a great name for a pho joint! We visited mid week at lunchtime and the place was relatively quiet.

We ordered a bun bo hue and a beef & chicken combination with spicy soup. Both were decent sized and tasted nice. There was a generous amount of meat and vegetables. The spicy broth was full of umami goodness. There were the prerequisite sauces on the table but the satay sauce was disappointing. It was bland and added little to the overall experience. Service was efficient.

So while we were not bowled over by Super Bowl, it was still a good enough place for a pho fix.

Have been here a couple of times and have thought it was reasonable, foodwise. Service or care factor is otherwise best for something to be desired here. Manageress seems not so courteous and busy playing with her tablet, male waiter was uncaring and young waitress was not so knowledgeable. Very disappointing and distasteful. Order taken, entree came out in reasonable time but waitress asked if it was ours which we replied it could be, then taken away for confirmation and returned about 10 minutes later, cold, asked for bowls to use for entree which didn't come, so used serviettes instead. Mains came out, which was mixed up, male waiter could care less what was what or who ordered what and just dumped them down. Had to ask what was what, total belligerence and non caring. Then discovered a used piece of lemon wedge in the usual plate of herbs. Made a comment to male waiter and asked for another piece of lemon, which didn't come, waiter could care less and I made mention of recycled food, could care even less once again. Oh, bowls came after half hour, way pass use for entree. Manageress offered bowls, I replied too late, she asked why too late, I said go figure it out. Not so pleased with dining experience, so will not be back as there are many other restaurants on the strip and areas to have similar. Not worth the aggravation to be treated in such manner.

Amazing pho and rice dishes.

A great place for a quick eat. I’ve only ever eaten here for lunch when I’ve had a limited amount of time and this has been enough time to order, eat and relax before getting back to work.

The food is all full of flavour. I would return to this restaurant.

Our go to for bun bho hue. Also has good spring rolls that are always fresh. One of the few Vietnamese place we go to that doesn’t make us extremely thirsty afterwards from the msg.
Great Restaurant Mentions
The best bbh in Richmond! Super tasty broth and super filling. I always walk out without having my mouth super dry like at other Vietnamese places! Great food! Love it
Vanessa
**3.5 stars** In my opinion, you should only order Bun Bo Hue here, not pho, as they have perfected the taste of it here. (The pho soup here is a little bland compared to others sold on the same street). Anyway, I like how spicy this restaurant’s Bun Bo Hue is, not to mention the portion sizes here are crazy - way more than generous, hence the restaurant’s name. I also commend their home-made sate sauce, so tasty (and again, spicy - just the way it should be!) Service is fast and staff are efficient.

One of my favourite places to go for bun bo hue. The broth is always on point, workers are always alert so very easy to get their attention if ever needed. Comfortable seats and if anyone’s up for a challenge, feel free to get the SUPERBOWL. Love the ice cream desserts! My favourite flavours are red bean and durian. The ice cream is served with crumbled biscuits which compliment each other.
EmLou86
Favourite place for pho on Victoria Street, which has waaaaaay too many places to choose from! We've been going to Super Bowl for a few years now and the quality and flavour of the pho is always consistent. Hard to go wrong for $11 for a medium bowl! We've never ventured into the 'super bowl' territory but we saw a couple who did the other night. You can pretty much swim in it! (but don't. It's hot.)
Bear Noms
Tried the vermicelli with chargrilled chicken. Flavoursome and decent sized meal with a good portion of meat. Fast service during lunch hour. Bang for your buck!
Grape Life
Great place, quick service. Personally we haven't tried the super size yet. It'll be like trying to defeat the final boss in Zelda without any clothes and just a wooden stick. Doable, but I don't think I'm a trooper like that.

We got the BBH and the Combination Broken Rice. Bun Bo Hue (BBH) is pretty good here, you got to really salad it us before you eat though, it makes it that much better.

The Broken Rice is pretty average, a good alternative to the soups though.

All in all, this place is recommended, especially for that post Friday night hang over.

I've come here once (when I was having serious pho cravings) and thoroughly enjoyed it. My partner and I shared a Beef Super Bowl which was monstrous (but great value). There was ample meat/bean sprouts and at least 3-4 portions of noodle drenched in delicious and flavoursome broth which had clearly been boiling away for hours as it had good depth to it's taste.

I'd definitely come back if I was in the area as I found the pho to be faultless (but I might get a smaller serve next time)!

AWFUL! We ordered takeaway and they forgot one of our meals. we then called back and they said to come back. We went back and they said they never charged us for the meal so we have to pay. we asked to see the reciept and they couldn't provide it. they blamed us for them forgetting the meal and that they are too busy. really rude and horrible service. not as good as they seem.
Alan Tse
My favourite pho restaurant on Victoria St. They have a more limited menu than many of the other places, so they do what they do best! I have had everything on the menu and the trouble is working out which one I like to have today! A bowl of pho you can stick your head into? Yes please (well, not for me, I have a medium. My friends though...). The BBH is excellent... it's almost too spicy for me sometimes (and I didn't think I was a wuss).

The service is always great, they bring an iPad along so they don't get their orders wrong. BYO wine and beer, no corkage.
Josephine
I've been here a couple of times because you get a good feed out of it. The portion sizes are massive, even for a medium bowl. However, the pho is lacking flavour. It tastes very bland. The bun bo hue is actually pretty nice and has a real kick to it, compared to other places where its been diluted down a bit. Staff are super friendly and food comes out quite promptly
Anh Huynh
Had their bun bo hue on my second visit. The broth was on the bland side. Giving a 3 to their super friendly staff. Needs to be as least 140 characterssss
Vivian
Not sure what the hype is about this place, sure the bowls are huge but the flavours just weren't there. Came here 3 times to give it a fair go and try more than just the pho and bbh but it was not for me
Live,to,eat
combination bbh (the super bowl), chicken curry puff and special Vietnamese crab and prawn spring rolls -

the hype is gone, along with all things unique about this restaurant and its food. just ordinary bbh (not as spicy as some of the others) in a maasive bowl. my guess is that the size of this bowl is equivalent to 2.5 standard instant noodle packets plu 1.5 portion of meat that you would normally get in a regular bbh.

curry puff was big and very oily (lip gloss oily) but spring rolls were good.
I always love to order "Bun Bo Hue" medium size in this Vietnamese shop in North Richmond though it takes me long time walking from the train station. It could be the best beef noodle with spicy soup that I have ever eaten in Melbourne since I came here for studying abroad.
Eating here remind me missing my country a lot.
Very satisfied with the portion because I could eat a lot and get hungry soon. 😂
The "Pho" here is also worth to try.
Aisha Aznizan
Like a typical Vietnamese shop in Melbourne, food was served fast and piping hot. My boyfriend ordered the super bowl and it was MASSIVE - they were very generous with the beef & it was amusing to see him struggle to finish it. The soup was good & portions were huge; even the small was a little too much for me
World In A Bite
Food 2: delicious massive pho! The satay chickens are my favourite! Other Vietnamese places can't compare! So, every time I crave Vietnamese satay chickens, I always come here.

Service & decor 2: average
Choc Pudding
Their pho was okay, i am never a big fan of pho anyway, always a bit of bland for me. I tried their marinaded pork vermicelli which was really nice and they were very generous with the meat. Tried spring rolls for entree but it was very messy to eat lettuce + spring rolls and fish sauce, or maybe I don't know how to do it properly.
Danny Nguyen
Big servings with quality food. A bit on the pricey side for viet food but the portion makes up for it. Place is clean and staff is friendly.
Bella
If you are after size you will definitely get that at super bowl! I ordered a stewed brisket pho in medium as I was super hungry. Again I was defeated by the portion size and could not finish. Plenty of meat and noodles. It's not the best pho I've had but pretty good!
World Eats Food
The best bun bo hue, Vietnamese beef noodle in spicy soup in Melbourne that I've eaten! I always come here to get either Pho (beef noodle soup) and Bun Bo hue. I always get the small, but if you're really hungry and up for a challenge, try the Super Bowl size! I usually pair it with a coconut drink or sweet longan drink.
Miling
Not THE best but up there with the best pho on Vic St. Great rice paper rolls, well priced, and footy on the TV!

I'd say this is a great mid-range Vietnamese restaurant on Vic St. There's cheaper, dirtier ones where the produce is not as fresh and there's the up-market ones that in my opinion are overpriced.

Super Bowl is in the middle and the food fantastic. Service is even pretty good.

Pho broth is delicious.

I'll be back.
HBTTP
CONSISTENT flavoured soup, sturdy tables, comfortable seating, air con, good service are a rare combination for Pho/Viet noodle soup houses. Super Bowl ticks all these boxes. Hard to go wrong here. They even have the Viet Coffee on point. You'll dine here in a comfortable environment with consistent food and service.
I prefer their Pho over their Bun Bo Hue.
Hats off to this restaurant, they're not about cramming as many people as they can in a small space.

Flytonewyork
Victoria St is a fortnightly destination for me since I can never fight off my cravings for cheap authentic vietnamese food. Having tried most of the street, I have to say the pho and bun bo hue at superbowl has got to be among the best. I never remembered it being this good but the past two visits I've had has seriously satisfied my pho craving and hasn't got that strong MSG taste. If you're nearby this is a top pick!
Darryl Quah
We were served upon seating and the waitress was polite. She took our orders when we were ready and brought us some hot tea.

Our orders came relatively fast and they were accurate too. I had a medium pho with chicken breast & beef strips whereas grace had a small vegetarian pho with vegetable broth. I really liked my pho, the broth was very hearty and they also put quite a lot of chicken breast and beef strips which is a plus! Grace was okay with hers but she would've preferred if they gave more types of vegetables as opposed to just the broccoli.

Good experience, will definitely recommend it!
TheSkinnyFoodie
I remember when pho became a thing....
Looking on enviously at my friends with their yummy warm soups during winter. If you're fructose intolerant you'd have felt it too... that oniony garlicky broth looked and smelt delightful. Well thanks to Super Bowl I can finally have my soup and slurp it too! Their beef and vegetable broth is fructose friendly (order without added onion) and absolutely delicious... super fragrant and full of flavour without being filled with all the thangs that make my tummy sad. At under $15 for a huge bloody bowl of noms it's a steal. Do yourself a favour and get down there for a no frills but satisfyingly healthy and budget friendly lunch!

Only ever came here for the Bun Bo Hue and every time it has been bang on, don't let the somewhat dodgy name put you off if you are a Bun Bo Hue junky like me.
Greg Foulds
Been here many times over the past few years and it's always good. I find the service and decor excellent, even the bathrooms are spotless.
We usually get the rice paper rolls which a spot on including the sauce. Then followed by a couple of phos that are too large to finish, even the small. Give the Superbowl a shot if your up for unachievable challenge.
Yes, we like the tea.
Melbourne To Mouth
Being a big fan of the original sliced beef - none of this chicken, brisket or meat ball nonsense - it has to be Super Bowl. Located near the corner of Church/Vic Streets it's got some hefty competition in I Love Pho and Pho Chu, but after plenty of research, it's the winner. It won't quite have you feeling like you're sitting on a HCMC sidewalk at 3am trying to prevent a hangover but it comes pretty damn close. Good noodle:beef:broth ratio and four sizes to choose from. This includes the named-for Super Bowl which I'm not sure I've ever seen anyone order let alone finish. BYO licensed, fast service, really well priced and I've never had to wait for a table - what more do you want in a quick, cheap noodle soup stop? Their prawn and pork spring rolls are a good addition too. They never come out before the soup but sequence isn't to be expected in any authentic Asian restaurant - I wouldn't have it any other way.

Read the full review among others on the blog, link in bio :)

Quite a nice pho experience. I usually have my old favourite when on Victoria St on the hunt for pho, but today I decided to try something new. Superbowl is a lot classier than most pho places, sturdy tables and chairs, very clean etc. I ordered a medium beef pho with extra veggies. Pho came out steaming hot and looked massive. I immediately regretted not getting a small. The broth was tasty but the ratio of noodles to beef was very low. Too much noodle, too little beef. Asked for extra lemon but was not given it. A medium pho was supposed to be $11 but I got slugged $2 for the extra veggies, which was too much. Definitely not value for money considering most pho restaurants charge single figures for a bowl. Worth a try. Good service.
Jessica
Got here around 7.30pm and was immediately seated. It was busy but not overly loud. Got the special vegetable spring rolls, medium size bowl of pho and 3 colour with peanut and coconut milk. The Spring rolls were very authentic. The 3 colour peanut drink was so sweet but addictive. It was almost like a dessert drink. Only downside was the lettuce and mint leaves were unwashed, it had dirt and gooey things on them
Bec Hodgson
Amazing as always! Pho is always good here and they cater to my fructose and gluten free perfectly. Friendly staff and beautiful rice paper rolls 🍜🍜🍜🍜🍜
Christine
Excellent pho & very generous with the amount of noodles. Great won ton & spring rolls too.
The staff were very friendly and polite. Favourite pho on vic st so far!
Monica612
Very fresh herbs and tasty Bun Bo Hue soup. Also like the iced coffee. I cannot even finish a medium one, lots of ingredients. Will come here more offen.
The Other Jenners
Super Bowl pops up on quite a few "best cheap eats in Melbourne" write ups and is an easy 12 minute tram ride from the city (Line 12 or 109 from Town Hall stop on Collins St, or Line 78 from Chapel St). The vermicelli salad with pork was absolutely delicious, as was the spicy beef soup. Hubby (who usually cleans his plates) couldn't quite finish his large size order. Super generous portions with super flavour. Will definitely be returning to Super Bowl!

EASILY THE BEST PHO RESTAURANT IVE EVER BEEN TO!!!!! in my opinion it beats all the other pho restaurants in Melbourne and boy have I been to alot. The customer service is amazing. Everything about it is impeccable 👌☝👌
All About Food
Indeed, went there with appetite. Finished Super Bowl very easy. Did I mentioned super bowl? Yeh, the largest one on the scale! Wasn't it big as its called? It was huge !! Soups was good. Tea was good. Service was good. But abit too much noodle than meats. Overall, very good experience.
Lucy 'Lulu' Zhang
Being lovers of pho, my partner and I decided to try SuperBowl. I had the bun bo hue while my partner had the beef pho. Soup flavour was very much lacking for both. The beef slices in the pho was not thin like it's supposed to be and there was too much noodles compared to the meat. My bun bo hue tasted so plain when it's supposed to be spicy and tangy. I think I will stick to my favourite Pho Hung Vuong in Springvale for my pho fix.
Happy Kath
This fried rice is simple & delish. Perfectly cooked rice wok tossed with pork bits. Just very yummy on a winter night! I also tried the chicken curry puff, they were a little oily but very delish.
Jo
the only place I go to for BBH, not so much for its standard pho as I think there are other places who do it better.. but their Bun Bo Hue, it's amazing.. spicy, sour, fresh. owner is always polite and efficient too.
Timinmelbourne
I went here today with a mate. We both tried different pho's, he had a chicken pho and mine was beef and chicken. Not surprisingly were very similar lol

My pho was tasty and fresh. The service here was really good, and the pho was served within minutes of us ordering. The staff were friendly and the price was $11 for a medium sized pho which was more than enough.

Worth a try if your passing through Victoria St.
James
Oooooh man... the Bun Bo Hue (bbh) is awesome, it's consistently amazing, they are always generous with ingredients and the serving size is massive, even the small is more than enough! The cafe sua da is made very well, although sometimes it can be a little too sweet. The restaurant itself is clean and functional, nothing too out there, but it works. The staff are always kind, and the service itself is pretty quick. Price wise, it's great value for money, you are left full and your wallet/purse only takes a little bit of damage :)
Yayas Hendarto
So I went to super bowl. It was a nice eatery. The food was good and the service was okay. We order pho. It was nice. I like the soup! Will come back again
Victor Truong
Compared to a regular pho restaurant I go to, higher price, worse taste, incredibly poor service. Waiter got order wrong, barely any meat in the bowl for the price and waitresses and waiters looked like they couldn't wait for the sweet release of death. 3 color dessert was more ice than anything. Very disappointing.
Kwanzai
This place used to be good but has recently changed hands. Not only have they jacked the prices up but the quality of the food has really taken a tumble. Seems as though the cleanliness has also been compromised. This place used to be my favourite place for phô but I'm sad to say now, I'll probably never return after my last experience.
Jimmy Chew Food
I'd heard good things about the bun bo hue but sadly it was mostly a miss. The depth of flavour in the soup was lacking and in the ingredients were sparse. However, The value for money is quite good relative to the different sized portions that are available. The Hanoi spring rolls were a good size but average tasting. The search continues for Melbourne's best bun bo hue.
Charlotte
Excellent value for money. I ordered the vegetarian pho and it was flavourful and very generous with noodles. The vegetarian spring rolls were also delicious. The rest of my family ordered chicken, beef pho and hanoi spring rolls which they also said were great. All 5 of us were stuffed at the end for less than $40
Tia
Delicious and cheapo vietnamese in Victoria street, pho comes in 4 different sizes (the biggest, super bowl, could easily feed 2), with one vego option. Extensive range of different spring rolls, it was a bit difficult trying to figure out which were the ones we wanted. Absolutely delicious vermicelli with grilled shrimp (6pcs), with pickled vegetables and holy basil. Definitely a place to go with a gang and share dishes, or just go with the pho.
Toni Fankhauser
Excellent service and fabulous pho! I am usually a die hard beef pho girl, but the ox tail pho is a must try and tipped this rating over from a 4.0. The meat tender and the broth very delicately flavoured. A great go-to comfort bowl.
Louisa Koko
Have been here a few times now. Never ever disappointed. The Hanoi style spring rolls are to die for, really really yum! Friendly wait staff, perfect iced Vietnamese coffee and flavorsome beef phó. Always a treat!
T.Ly
We came here twice in one weekend. Once to try share large bun bo hue (22) between 2 people and then with friends to split a super bowl of pho with sliced beef (7) between 4 people. Each time, we had all hit the cusp of being full by the time we finished the bowl. I loved the chili and lemongrass broth of the bun bo hue, but I didn't care for the thick udon-like noodles. If I were to order it again, I would go with the flat noodles instead. The pho was okay, although the broth was lacking in full flavor and felt a little watered down. The service was prompt and there's no pressure to leave because you go to the counter when you're done. They only accept card payment for bills over $20. The owner/manager was a little harsh and yelled at us when we were paying in cash and wanted to split the meal, so from that experience I won't be returning.
Grace Connelly
Love this place. Friendly staff serving up the freshest, tastiest pho on Victoria street. Can't go past the homemade vegetarian spring rolls either!
FoodiePhysician
Nice vietnamese noodle place.

Does four sizes of noodles - superbowl was too big to try.

Had the rice noodles with beef and beef and tripe, medium sizes. Medium size was plenty filling and very nice. Soup was addictively nice; really appreciate the base broth thats probably been prepped all day.

$~20 for two

A sweet satisfactory cheap eat, 3.5 Yums

Best bbh ever!!!!!!... IN THE WORLD! Come here often, best recovery food!! BBH IS LIFE. BBH IS LOVE!!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMM

Regular here..pho has been consistent and great portion. Casual yet still quite good atmosphere. One of our favorite pho places in Richmond, right after footscray of course.
HNIC
Delightful hideaway in crowded Richmond. You've run the gauntlet, now take on the super bowl. The weak? Need not apply. The food? Bellissimo. Recommended.
Good proper Vietnamese soups. Cleaner than most places along this street. Nice one
Chasing A Plate
...We don’t have to wait long before two bowls are plonked before us together with a plate of shredded cabbage, Vietnamese mint and beansprouts. In the steaming broth swims onions, thinly sliced beef, pork loaf meatballs and a deceptively generous amount of noodles. The raw vegetables and herbs get dumped into the soup and provide great texture, the mint releasing its recognisable aroma. The broth is fragrant with lemongrass and chilli but is subtle, with the four flavours of spicy, sour, sweet and salty all detectable...
The Food Society
Service is quick and efficient, and everything on the menu is dirt cheap; just the way we like it.
Jrj
With a dish packed with bud-tingling flavour, tummy-warming tender meats and juicy, fresh vegetables and noodles, what’s not to like? Not to mention the (loving) punch in the face from the chilli, my favourite part. I’ll be back for more of this Vietnamese goodness soon, that’s pho sure.
Pho Realz
Upon opening the menu, Aunty Mary and Niece Cindy realised ‘Rare Beef and Beef Balls’ was not an option, therefore a special request had to be put in for extra beef to be added to the Beef Ball pho. Niece Cindy was ravenous and high off her Harry Potter movie marathon session the previous night… lacking sleep and starving, any wait was too long. When the pho arrived we hurriedly tucked in, when all of a sudden Aunty Mary raised an eyebrow… and a question.
NSF
Delicious meat in the pho but a flavourless broth, albeit a large serving size. You can't charge $2.50 a head for corkage on a $9 meal. Well if you do, make sure the glasses aren't still heavily laced with the last drinker's lipstick.

BESSSTTTT PHO IN MELBOURNE!!!!!!. We visit this place at least once a fortnight.. it is THEE BEST PHO restaurant in Melbourne and we have tried MANY!!
I always get the Bun Bo Hue, #23 on the menu. I always ask for the flat rice noodle with this because I find the round noodle too difficult to eat - very messy! LOVE LOVE LOVE.
Coles.t.daniel
Poor service. The boss is rude. Very poor service
My wife ordered her bun bo hue with no pork bone and it came out with pork bone. When she told the waiter, the boss came and yelled at her saying this was what she ordered. Apparently, pork bone is "cha" ,which means pork loaf to them.
How can pork bone means pork loaf seriously. Their attitude and service were so bad, we will never come back here again
Cghnbg
DO NOT LIKE IT. The owner is so "RUDE" !!!!!
Huntleyvv
Good find. The grilled pork was so tasty here and I absolutely loved their spring rolls. Service was good too. We didn't have to wait too long for our meals.
Kimmy_desu
Had bun bo hue here and although many of my friends like this place, it's loaded with too much msg and i had to drink lots of water afterwards.
Just Around Town
Pho Ga with Crispy Fried Chicken. Love a good Pho. Wandered in, ordered and within minutes had my soup, along with a plate of fresh bean sprouts and Vietnamese mint. The whole thing was packed with flavour with a nice, deep flavoured broth (some you get are insipid). I ate til bursting then felt bloated and tired for the next two hours - just the way it should be... Defiantly recommended.
Racash
Pho-nomenal!. Best Pho on Victoria Street!
Arrives quick and is very delicious.
Very clean premises, which makes for a change :)
It's our local!

Good rice. good bun bo hue. will return
BooBoo
Food is ok, very thirst after so definitely msg added to te soup. This place is extremely NOT child friendly so if you are considering taking your kids, expect dirty looks and ok assistance despite how well behaved they are.
Nammttran
Good place and foods, but people are not good. Today I would like to tell everyone know about this place. The Boss does not share Tips money for staffs who is working in this restaurant. Is it fair for staffs?
Jill.abolail
Great value great taste!. I wanted to leave a review the first time i came here but decided to try it again before i did too see if it was just as good. Didn't disappoint me! The first visit was to try the fried wontons (never received them) but the soup is so tasty & filling. A bowl for all appetites starting from a small right up to super bowl!! There is no way i could eat that alone but would be suitable for 2 people sharing. There was a little confusion regarding vegetables in the soup. The staff member although very friendly didn't understand my simple request for vegies in the soup but thought i wanted to order more. Second time around i ordered number 2 & 24. vegetarian spring rolls & Broken Rice. Very tasty and filling. Fast service with a friendly genuine smile. Over all i would rate it an 8 out of 10.
Morganjwilliams
Brilliant pho, welcoming host. We've just left Super Bowl having had a great evening full of tasty food - the owner was really accommodating (we were a party of 13 with four children) and really looked after us....would highly recommend you dropping in for a bowl of pho...nobody dared to have the Super Bowl sized pho...I had the large and that was too big for me...their broth is top notch. Great spot all round.
Charlotte Stewart
Best pho ever!! Very tasty and lovely service. Come here all the time. I sometimes have pho at other places but it's just not the same.
Jasonfff
Excellent BBH!. BBH was awesome! can't wait to go back for some more.
soup well spice and flavoursome
noodles and meat were generous.
Caroline Newton
Great local. I go there all the time and love the vegetarian pho! The staff are friendly and it's great value for money.
Honeybadger
Love the broth. I had the sliced beef pho and the broth was light and pleasant - not too much MSG added compared others I've had in the past. Also the waiters were polite and patients, I would definitely go back there again!
Karen
Just tried Super Bowl for the first time tonight & it was fantastic! Fresh and really tasty soup. I'll be going back, its my new favourite place! :-D
Jo K
Stumbled upon this place when I couldn't be bothered to join the queue at I Love Pho. Turned out to be just as good, if not better. Would definitely recommend!
Nina
Very meh.. Trusting the mostly positive diner reviews, I wanted to try the place out. I was surprised at how disappointed I was when our meals arrived. The Pho broth was lacking any sense of depth and combination broken rice was very very ordinary. Even the presentation looked odd, all spaced out and not coming together as a humble meal.
Preston Starr
Give it a go. In my view, this was much better than the popular I Love Pho - it just had a better atmosphere, I feel higher quality ingredients and more attentive staff. Enjoyed the Pho, and recommend the special "three colour drink' - weird, but very very tasty.
Texbates
Excellent. Went here last night for the first time and will definitely be going back - delicious Spicy Hue Beef Vermicelli Soup, nice relaxed atmosphere, acoustics not too loud like many of the other restaurants on Victoria Street and great value.

Been here quite a few times and loved it. Decided to bring a few mates to try it out, some of which were muslim. Being vietnamese myself, I ordered for everyone and specifically in Vietnamese as well so the waiter could understand. With some orders I specifically asked to have no pork. After about 15mins of confusion and repeating orders 3-4 times, the waiter was noticeably frustratd and became extremely rude, giving off eye rolls and heavy sighs. The orders came back with meatballs that seemed as though there had pork in them. When we asked if there was pork in the meatball, the waiter was lost for words and had to make sure with the chef and told us it was chicken. Regardless whether it was pork or not, my muslim friends was thrown off and stopped eating their dishes that they still had to pay for. This ruined everyones experiences and made me extremely embarrassed to bring my friends to a place I thought was pretty good. Never will I be back.

We ordered coconut juice and it tasted tangy, obviously going rotten. Told the manager and he said there was someone wrong with OUR taste buds, and furiously ripped out empty coconut containers from the bin to prove his point that noone else had complained. Because of his reaction, he just lost customers over something that would have only cost him a dollar. Not worth going back.

Souper good. My choice place for Bun Bo Hue on Victoria St. Really like the Vermicelli with marinated pork and spring rolls, and also the Ha Noi style Vermicelli (think deconstructed version, similar to banh hoi).

Big portions. We enjoyed eating at Super Bowl. Very efficient service and good food.

The portions are good even if you're not getting the super large bowl so it's value for money. Though not the best Bun Bo Hue I've had in Melbourne, still OK for a quick dinner.

Charging for tap water?!. Great food but they charged fifty cents each for tap water... Not cool! I won't be going back.

BBH Galore!. If you want delicious Bun Bo Hue then this is THE place for it. Also clean, nice staff, quick service and super cheap. Super Bowl is Super awesome. The pho is also really delicious.
I Eat Melbourne
Yum yum!. Love the Pho here! I think its the best on the strip and i prefer it here because you can actually get in easily but there is enough people to still have that buzzy atmosphere.
Service is fast and attentive.
The noodles in the Pho have an amazing silky-ness.... and all for $7.
Had the sate chicken last time also and it was delicious too.
Highly recommended if you don't like to line up but like a bowl of soup that is full of flavour!

Nice pho - good quality of meat, though there could a slight improvement in the broth itself; personally I prefer it with stronger herbs but of course you have to cater for all tastes.
good service, nice, smiling cheerful staff.
superpho is definitely value for money i.e. it's about the size of 3 mediums for only $17!

Great. Food. Lovely. St.... Great. Food.
Lovely. Staff great place.

Past reviews must have believed they were in a 3 michalan star place

Great soup!. Love this place, it's a Vic St stand out for me. Lovely staff and fabulous quality food. Generous portions and wonderful flavours.

Keep up the good work, guys!

OK!. It's 50-50. But I still clicked 'LIKE' due to the overall pros is overweighing the cons.

Cons: Hated the superbowl. Meat is not good at all. Hope they change after I made a complaint to them directly. The soup and noodle is ok only. I had better else where (sorry guys).

Pros: Loved the vermicelli with chargrilled marinated pork (number 27). This is a must try!!

Lovely staff and great food. Found my new pho place!

Super Bowl Spectacular. Ok, so Victoria Street in Richmond is an area renowned for it’s multitude of Vietnamese restaurants although when we arrived in Australia it was predominantly Greek although that’s another story. Strolling along aforementioned street I came across Super Bowl, I entered on a whim, interesting name though. It wasn’t lunch hour so there weren’t many in there. The place was neat, clean and tidy, not always the case along that strip. Didn’t have much time so “only” ordered the combination Bun Bo Hue which is similar to Pho with added chilli and lemongrass and came in four sizes of Small, Medium, Large, (which is the size I ordered) and Super Bowl, just a gimmicky name I thought. First arrived some nice tea, then a plate of lettuce, bean sprouts, mint and lemon wedges as an accompaniment, pretty standard so far, then came a massive bowl of Bun Bo Hue (refer to pic). When the waiter put it down I actually did a double take... ‘ everything ok’? the waiter asks, ‘ yep fine’ I say. I like my chilli content towards the fire breathing level, this was not at that level but still adequate, the beef and pork was thicker than a sliver and thinner than a slice which made it perfectly tender, noodles and broth were pretty good too. Could not actually finish it all but I came un-prepared, next time I will have more of a tactical strategy and attempt to take on the “Super Bowl”.

Had the super beef pho which was huge almost got through it all. It was a good pho very enjoyable. When your regular pho is pho huong vuong in springvale it is hard to rate other phos high.
Diner
Did not live up to the hype.... The pho was disappointing. The broth (had slices of beef, some spring onions and noodles) was watery and bland and (unlike for the Asian diners) did not come accompanied by lemon, fresh chilli and bean sprouts. Rice paper rolls were oversized but tasteless. Prices were very affordable. Seating is very tight and squashy and considering the small space, background music is way too loud.

Bún bo hue had too much shrimp paste and the special version (dac biet) only had brisket, not very special compared to other places.
Bún cha ha noi (which seems to have popped up everywhere nowadays) is a bit pricey, the meat is tasty but a bit sweet, and not smokey enough, also too much iceberg lettuce and not enough bún. Maybe we should have had the pho.

Got potential, room for improvement. Freshly Wrapped Rice Paper Cold Rolls; yeap, easily up there amongst the best, crushed peanuts, peanut sauce and the work.
Large Fresh Rice Noodles with Sliced Beef & Tripes; light, tasty (after a bit more of the fish sauce), missing salt, MSG? Soup not hot enough, missing fresh cut chillies and lemons, love the cracked peppers mill, NOT enough beef slices ....
3 Colours Drink; not too sweet, good, needs adjustment on the drop jellies
Great reconstituted stone top, timber chair, room a bit tight.
Full of youthfulness, High Tech ordering system and please make sure you don't loose that old charm "taste" & "quality" .... we all come for that.

Awesome!. Best pho I've had outside of Vietnam. Delicious, super tasty tendon that melts in your mouth, same with the offal, so good! get the Beef combinations for a bit of everything, or the Beef/Chicken.
The staff are pretty awesome as well!
Don't bother with the super bowl, its stupidly huge, I can eat more than anyone I know, and was defeated. Maybe with a few months of preparations, I could attempt the challenge again.
PRINCE AND PRINCESS
SUPER GOOD BEEF PHO! :). * They have one of the best 'Beef Pho' around.
* The serving size is really big aswell.

MMMMM more please. With its modern decor and lovely staff you immediately feel welcome at Super Bowl. We had the Chicken Pho, Spicy Hue Beef Vermicelli Soup, Fried Wontons (for the kids) and fried rice.

The food was all promptly served, tasted fantastic and our waitress was lovely. The prices are very reasonable and the servings are generous.

Give them a go

Best Voucher Deal Ever. We came here on Living Social vouchers and they were the best deal ever. The food was great and the service most welcoming and friendly. The portions were most generous and for $9 each we got more food than we could eat.
The normal prices are most reasonable and we shall certainly return here soon. A great find.

Bought a few vouchers through livingsocial. Although only one voucher is allowed, i bought a few as the rest would be given to my buddies. As it turns out, the service is very friendly and the ordering is done via an ipad mini, which is pretty cool. I haven't seen this approach in the hippy coffee places.

Vietnamese iced coffee packed with punch, its the kind of coffee when it still tastes like coffee even when the ice cubes have gone dissolved.

The spicy special noodle has got a very fragrant smell with lemongrass n it comes with a side of chopped veges. There are three meatballs in the soup: chicken, pork, n pork lemongrass meatballs; each one is so meticulously hand made with at least 3 different fresh ingredients. In the soup meal there is also a good amount of thinly sliced beef.

My partner had the vermicelli with beef and spring rolls. 2 perfectly fried spring rolls cut into halves, delicately arranged on a bed of vermicelli and other freshest ingredients you can find on Vic st in Richmond, the meal comes with sides of sweet sauce and a good serving of mildly roasted and crushed peanuts to add more character to the flavour.

The beef is marinated and tenderised before cooking and is grilled to perfection, while retaining the juicy bit in the meat. In the meal there's also a mix of veges and asian basil and mint to complement the meat and spring rolls, chopped and all ingredients are separately arranged to allow you mix it up the way you please.

Would definitely go back again without the voucher. The guys at Superbowl has nailed the potential of group buying, without ruining their own establishment, unlike other cafe/restaurants that lure the people with voucher deals and charge exorbitant price for a sub-par meal. Did i mention that Superbowl already has 3 other Pho joints running in the US??

Large bowls of lovely Vietnamese soup. Service very friendly. Portions pretty generous so careful about getting the 'Super Bowl'.

Awesome Vietnamese food. My husband,me and two kids had a lunch with a living social voucher. We ordered a super bowl pho ( really a big bowl and worth of it ), broken rice, and Hanoi spring rolls. All the food were delicious. Good service and clean restaurant. Definitely will go back!

Impressed!. Tried the broken rice with pork chop etc - delicious & quite the best presentation I have seen on Victoria Street. Fellow dinner enjoyed the spicy beef Pho. Very friendly & efficient service from all the staff. Clean, simple decoration. And each of us commented that the "facilities" were the newest & cleanest we've seen on Victoria Street. Priced very reasonably as well - so overall, a very enjoyable experience & I'll be back to try the rest of the menu!

Bun Bo hue is average like how it super! It is so big worth the value. Spring roll is really nice. Special rice was good overalls everything is good
Alfredo R Esing
Really friendly service. Tasty Bún Bò Hué, not to spicy and it didn't have all the extra weird meat that most other places have I their recipes. The venue is new and clean and well designed and the chefs wear proper chef attire.

OMG! what did we find in 2 of their dishes?!. Went there just last Sunday and ordered 3 dishes.

1st dish: #3 Freshly wrapped rice paper cold rolls (4 pieces) - in one of the rolls, we found TWO (2) pieces of white polystring-like inedible string, each approx 50mm long!!! OMG!!! Returned it to one of the waiters and ask not to get a replacement. One of the owners (I think) later came to table and apologised saying it has never happened before... ok, apology accepted and they're a relatively new establishment. Give them a 2nd chance we said...

2nd dish: #25 Combination broken rice - just luke warm, ok...

3rd dish: #28 Vermicelli Noodle with Char-grilled Marinated Pork & Spring Rolls - found ANOTHER piece of white polystring. Stopped eating!!! maybe should have stopped long ago...

Called the same owner (?) back, showed polystring, apology from owner again.

We went up to counter to pay, expecting to either not pay at all or at least just the one dish (2nd) that didn't have the polystring... waiter initially asked us to pay for the 2nd and 3rd dish, I refused to pay 3rd dish, he finally agreed... The nerve to ask me to pay, especially for the 3rd dish!

Apology accepted (it's not easy I know) but will I go back? NO!
WILL I RECOMMEND IT? NO!
Have I told others to avoid it? YES! quite a number...

My brother and I went for lunch and both had the bun bo hue. It is quite spicy but we both really enjoyed it. The medium size that we ordered is similar to large size at the other restaurants near it. Very impressed.

Great stewed beef and brisket pho. Broth is something special. Faultless food and service. A new favourite.

In the face of stiff competition, Super Bowl opened recently and with the bar set quite high from more established restaurants in the area I thought I'd give it a try. It is now my favourite Pho restaurant in the area. Pho Tai (Pho with thinly sliced beef) is lovely, with a flavoursome broth, replete with many subtle flavours. When combined with Hoisin Sauce and Chilli (both on the table), and with the vietnamese basil, the flavours combine to produce a filling and rewarding experience. The vietnamese coffee (Cafe Sua Da) is particularly refreshing in the hot summer and compliments the soup as do the Hanoi Spring Rolls (Bun Cha Ha Noi), which are quite unlike any similar rolls I have ever tried before, either in Australia or in SE Asia. Service is friendly and prompt, and they do not seem in a hurry to kick you out when done. Highly recommended.

I came to this restaurant with an average level of expectation. And boy was I amazed!!! I ate the chicken pho and it tasted heavenly! The chicken was fresh and tasted as if it came straight from the farm. The soup itself was perfectly cooked and seasoned, giving the illusion that the bowl of pho was made by the master chefs we see on television.... If not better!! Not only does the pho taste beautiful but it is cheap and filling!! I could not have chosen such a better and wonderful place to spend my new year!! I will definitely keep coming back again and again!

Awesome! Authentic and delicious. Service was great! Give it a go, you will go back!
Pho King
Best Pho on the street. I have tried every Pho restaurant on Victoria street now and would have to say that Super bowl is the best! The flavor is full bodied and you can tell they don't add heaps of MSG to get it because you don't walk away thirsty like some of the other places. I've also tried their broken rice and the pork chop is like home cooked, so soft and tender. The staff are really nice too and the waitress that served us spoke perfect english. Definitely my new favorite!!

Ummm. It was alright. Nothing fancy.

Heard about this gem from a friend when it opened recently. Delicious ha noi spring rolls with traditional, simple clean tasting pho broth.

My fav new pho and bun bo hue place.. Super Bowl pho is great, tasty and fresh. My husand loved the bun no Hue, the best bun bo hue in mlb. The waitress recommended the ha noi spring roll and they were a seriously awesome just as good as then dats if not better. Overall excellent. Definitely will go back.

Surprisingly good.. This place is epic for its super bowl pho and bun bo hue. i had the large bun bo hue and the amount of noodles were average, soup wasn't spicy and flavoursome enough. the pho on the other hand was great! the soup was clear and flavourful, noodles were extremely silky and not overcooked. possibly the best place to satisfy your pho cravings with $17.
Dr Appetite
Pho came with ONE beef ball. New Pho place situated between Pho Chu The and I luv Pho, so you'd expect it to be good to compete with them. Grand opening special was medium pho for $7.

Soup broth was ok, but wife ordered the beef ball pho, and it came with ONE beef ball cut in half, and some regular sliced beef (not listed on menu). I ordered the beef pho, and found the meat cut very thick and tastes mediocre. My wife apparently did so too, giving me all her beef despite only having 1 beef ball.

On a good note, the traditional deep fried spring roll was tasty, and they give you lots of bean sprouts/herbs to add to your pho. hopefully it will be better in the future.

Let me tell you, there is nothing more comforting than of eating a hot steaming bowl of pho on a cold night. But wait, there is - a super bowl of pho. Vietnamese Iced Coffee Hanoi Style Spring Rolls Pork, vegetables and shrimp in rice paper rolls were deep fried to a golden brown, with the perfect crunch with each bite. The right way, and the only way to eat this dish is to eat with your hands. In fact, if you decided any other way, you would look ridiculous. Wrap these babies up with vermicelli rice noodles in a fresh leaf of lettuce and dip/soak in fish sauce. Yum ! Pho The broth was light, slightly sweet and fragrant. You could taste the hours on end that the soup had have simmered for. The flat rice noodles were smooth, slippery and slurp worthy. Unfortunately, I found the thick slices of beef not as tender as I would have liked. Completing the dish, chopped spring onion and sliced onion added the pe

The bun bo hue at Super Bowl is delicious. The noodles are not overcooked and retain a good bite and the all-important soup is slurp-worthy. Good depth is achieved from simmering beef bones and spices and the fragrance of lemongrass enhances the wondrous aroma. The chilli provides a hot spicy kick, making the soup tantalisingly addictive. I highly recommend throwing in the chopped mint, it adds a wonderful lift to the already flavoursome soup.

So this is one of the newest additions in Victoria Street. It's not exactly a food challenge but there is the novelty of a Super large bowl of pho or bun bo hue. I went with a colleague for lunch but we weren't adventurous/hungry enough to try the superbowl so we just went with the usual size. I got the slice beef pho with no onions and "A" got the bun bo hue. The pho has a good soup base and was quite generous with their beef slices. The beef was very thinly cut so it cooked once in contact with the soup. "A" described it as a well balanced mixture of spiciness and sourness and something he would crave on a cold rainy Melbourne day. I was very tempted to try the bun bo hue too, but since I was sick as a dog, so I refrained from spreading my germs. Overall 12.5/20, it's a good feed in a relatively clean environment for Victoria Street standards. Sadly to say, non-Asian people do get priority for service. We were clearly ignored a few times when another fellow non-Asian table who put t
The World Loves Melbourne
Super Bowl Pho & Bun Boe Hue in Victoria Street Richmond is a stunning Vietnamese restaurant and one of the best in Melbourne. From years in the industry with acclaimed Red Rock in St Kilda and a restaurant in Footscray the Hoang family are back after a stint in Seattle USA.

The menu concentrates on fresh high quality cuisine (nothing frozen) and authentic recipes from the regions of Vietnam. Sometimes I get confused at restaurants when they have over 100 items on the menu but Super Bowl does well to narrow it down to specialty dishes. The World Loves Melbourne enjoyed dining as guests of Super Bowl.
The Hungry Excavator
In short, I think the pho is alright. Nothing fantastic, quite ordinary. Soup wasn't especially tasty; ingredients weren't especially fragrant but it's decent. It's okay. What I did enjoy when I was here was the Hanoi Spring Rolls, which was basically rice paper rolls that had been deep fried. What's not to like? Yum.

.....Super Bowl Pho & Bun Bo Hue , which has recently opened up in Richmond. Although it’s been open for a short period of time, they are already building up a large crowd. Why? Read more to find out! To start off, we sipped on Jasmine tea and Sop Sop and I ordered a beverage each. I ordered the Chè ba màu, whilst, Sop Sop ordered the Nước dừa tươi. Chè ba màu / Three Coloured Drink: Chè ba màu is a very common drink to have at Vietnamese restaurant

Super Bowl's version is the perfect balance of sweet, sour, spicy and salty. Garnished with some bean shoots, red cabbage and a squirt of lime, this was a fantastic bowl of noodles.

I work with the biggest Pho fans of all time! Some weeks they could go every day for a bowl of steaming, wholesome, comforting pho. So when a new spot opens on Victoria Street you cannot keep them away, especially when they find out the reason it is called Super Bowl is because they are serving the biggest pho ever!! The reviews are in and the Pho-fans are pretty happy! This could be their new favourite spot!! To mix it up I go for the Bun instead, what more could you want but noodles, pork and a couple of mini spring rolls! It is sensational!! This is my perfect flavour profile with nuts, cucumber, sticky pork, chilli and that sauce – that sauce makes the whole dish sing! So want this right now!! Super Bowl is a happy place and you can’t go wrong for fast, fresh and tasty!

Super Pho and Bun Bo Hue had been opened for about a year now and already they have ten posts. They are near the corner of Church and Victoria sts and the route 109 tram services it. Entrance The menu The guys that work there are lovely and attentive. The manager was super friendly and said sorry for running out of onions. I did however remind him a couple of times though before he said sorry. They have free tea not like some other places. They support a charity somewhere in South East Asia. If you have chance do donate. The broth was quite good for the vegetarian pho. I had a small bowl for $9 and boy was it huge! I put a bit of chilli sauce in there. The rice noodles was great. Verdict: Some people thought that pho might be expensive just looking at the menu but the bowls are huge. Its a good thing that Richmond has a lot of these sorts of places. I have to agree with many of the bloggers about the meals there. I paid for my own. I'd like to try the broken rice next time.
Sweet And Sour Fork
The soup was deep and fragrant, a very noticeable tang of lemongrass in the spicy beef soup, and the noodles were thick and chewy. Though the beef is quite thick, it is also generously given, and the fried pork balls were something different and entirely scrumptious. The plate of mixed veggies and herbs on the side really lent the noodles freshness and texture.

Super Bowl’s menu is also another point of differentiation. It’s short and simple, unlike those 100-item menus you see at other Vietnamese restaurants that have the tendency to confuse. You then have the classics such as sliced beef phở and broken rice sitting alongside more unusual dishes such as phở with fried chicken Maryland. While the latter is not something I’d order myself, it’s apparently a popular dish with the, dare I say it, gweilo contingent. Eh, whatever works.
