Review The Collection - Richmond

Have been here a long time ago as well as recently for some local comedy. They have some rare drinks on the menu especially if you are into cocktails ;) It is great to see them survive lockdown and even doing some shows! Certainly recommend if you like an intimate settings. The interior of cosy and staff sorry friendly and knowledgeable.

What a great place to go for a drink. Wish I got the gentleman's name that helped us with our drinks. I looked at the menu and he said if there was something else I wanted not on the menu he can make it. I told him what flavors I liked and he made me this lovely cocktail. Definitely a nice place to go with friends to have a chat and a drink. Highly recommend.

The main bar staff there were attentive and great at making cocktails. Our group went to this place about a month ago however were disappointed with the drop of mood once the owner had showed up. You better fit in with the “rules” of this bar or you will be judged harshly upon. Make sure you also speak like you know everything about alcohol or you will also be judged upon by the owner of this bar. Unfortunately our experience was ruined due to this and us as a group that were more than happy to spend money had decided we won’t be visiting ever again. (Oh also if you have an allergy, it won’t be taken seriously when it comes to drinks so make sure you’re extra careful with this). Two stars is generous but only because (and I can’t remember there name, it definitely wasn’t the owner) made a beautiful cocktail and took the time to have a genuine quick chat.

Fantastic staff who look to create a connection and develop amazing drinks around that or guide you based on what your preferences are. Cannot recommend highly enough. Zac also has really cool axolotals!

An impressive bar. We dropped in for a final drink after a meal at Anchovy just up the road. The bar is nicely fitted out and it’s clearly a well liked place. Good range of drinks available here. The cocktails are good. Service was pretty satisfactory too. We’d return for sure.

Cosy place where you can have a beer or cocktail at the bar or sit and eat from the Cajun inspired menu. The chilli mayo on the fried potatoes was tasty. Mostly burgers on the menu but also some nightly specials on offer, including $1 chicken wings on Sundays. The staff know their stuff, especially the drinks menu of you're looking for wine or beer to go with your meal. Service was a little slow in ordering and delivering, but it could have just been described as "relaxed" to suit the vibe.

Absolutly amazing service, I feel bad I forgot the bartenders name (English bloke), but he was amazing, brilliant service from him. The drinks were amazing and the place had a very good vibe to it. Would highly recommend and will definitely be back.

Zach is an absolute legend. Sat and chatted with us to work out what cocktails we'd enjoy the most and his recommendations were spot on. All of the staff were super friendly and the venue has such a cool vibe. Will definitely be back!

We had a pretty poor experience here. My boyfriend and I went based on his previous positive experiences but the manager / staff member was quite rude from when we placed our orders. We placed our order with a different bartender and when he also came around to take an order, he kept placing his hands on our shoulders which was unwanted. <br/>We ordered a Shiraz gin with tonic and he went to say that it was pretty much ‘cordial with tonic’ and that it should only be served neat. A recommendation / suggestion is fine, but this was very condescending and he just shrugged when we said that we enjoy ordering the gin with tonic. <br/><br/>He also went to ask how old we are, and not for the purpose of identification as we had already placed our orders. when I mentioned my age, he laughed and said that I could be 12. That was an inappropriate comment to make. <br/><br/>We will not be returning to this bar.

Absolutely loved this place! Cute bar with a great vibe. The bartender Zac was incredibly attentive and spot on with his cocktail recommendations. Loved every bcocktail and food was great too. Highly recommend!

Nice cocktail selection and good beers too. The staff are knowledgeable and always friendly. Space itself could be a bit more comfortable (it's small and dark and has outdoor seating, but it's on a busy footpath). But generally this is one of the the better spots in the area.

We are never really in this part of the neighbourhood but decided to detour before our dinner at Mister Minh, and fell in love with this bar. It has really nice vibes, great wine and good value for money too!

Fantastic little cocktail bar. There was a chilled ambiance which complemented the creative cocktail list superbly. I’d also highly recommend the buffalo wings with ranch dressing, they were some of the best I’ve had in Melbourne.

Brilliant service all night, welcoming staff created a great atmosphere tasty food with expertly made cocktails and drinks, will definitely be returning.

Unfortunately, service is terrible and slow. <br/>My friend and I waited 10 minutes at the bar while two bartenders served three men cocktails. Our presence was not even acknowledged at the bar even after we asked the chef to take our order.<br/><br/>There were approximately 10 other patrons in the bar at the time so we weren’t fighting a busy period.<br/>When we were finally served, there was no apology and the bar tender essentially asked what we wanted then never spoke to us again. <br/><br/>We won’t be back.

I am foodie I always try something different so last week I had chance to try from collection bar their food was superb and their was very friendly. So highly recommend this place to everyone

Fantastic way to celebrate my birthday. Hit The Collection Bar for happy hour and was undoubtedly not disappointed. Amazing cocktails made with love and a good share of alcohol. The owner was very accommodating and helpful and was checking up to make sure we were all content. My friends thoroughly enjoyed their burgers and the nachos were f*cking delicious. Wish I lived closer to Richmond so I could come back sooner!

Not being a local to Richmond, I walked up and down Bridge road looking at restaurants, waiting by for my friend to turn up. For some reason, The Collection Bar caught my eye. After a quick Zomato review, I decided to go here.<br/>As we got there at 530, we were the only people in restaurant. Ordered a few beers from the friendly bar tender and sat back in a casual environment, catching up. <br/>Both of us grabbed a steak and whilst it wasn't the best I had, it wasn't the worst either. I found all the staff really attentive and friendly and rated higher as a result. <br/>Not an outstanding place in the way of food and drinks, but outstanding in terms of great staff. I think I would go back again to try other food in menu...

Do not come here if you like being comfortable. It’s absolutely freezing in here as it is a cold night and all the doors are open. Everyone is wearing a coat inside. We ordered chicken wings; it is not a busy night and they have taken over half an hour. They are still not here. Disappointing.

Ducked in with friends a few weeks ago for some cocktails and a bite to eat post work. Might have had a few too many espresso martinis but at $12 why not. One of my friends had me try the buffalo chicken and it was amazing!

Came here one night for a drink, but then ended up having some food. The burgers were really good and full of flavour. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly and attentive. Will return.

My bf and I shared the smokehouse classic and the buffalo chicken burger, along with the loaded fries and the Mac and cheese croquettes. The burgers were okay, I probably preferred the chicken burger for the flavour. The beef one lacked freshness, and was quite heavy, which might be my own taste but needed some sort of salad in it I thought. The fries were alright, great flavour but a bit soggy, and the mac and cheese croquettes were delicious. The cocktail I had was great, and the vibe of the bar was great for a date night, good mood lighting. A nice bar with friendly service, but probably wouldn't come back just for the food.

This place is so close to our house but only just been there last weekend. They have some amazing deals on weekdays. We've ordered mac&cheese croquette, buffalo wings and burger. The food was great. Burger was delicious and cheap! $11 !! The only negative thing would be the food was a little bit too salty for my liking. But rather than that, nothing i can complain about this place. Love their hot sauce and cocktails too!! Service was outstanding. The lady that served us are so lovely. She was really helpful and always came to check on us if we were ok throughout the night. Definitely coming back. Want to try their steak night!!

Tonight I picked this place for dinner. <br/><br/>First of all the service was excellent. This is an American style bar on Bridge Road. It's well designed. <br/><br/>For drinks we turned up unexpectedly at happy hour. We had a mountain goat dark porter beer for which was excellent! Yummm but why is this a schoolnight haha <br/><br/>For the food we ordered a burger each which came w fries and we ordered a stuffed jalapeños. <br/><br/>I can't recall the exact names of these burgers but I had a chicken burger w blue cheese and my friend had a double patty (ribs and steak mince) burger. Thankfully we went halves in our burgers to taste<br/>each one. <br/><br/>We also had fries w chilli con carne. How much food is enough... that's what I was asking! Mmnn haha <br/><br/>My chicken burger was really good but it was filling, thankfully I only had to eat half. But the double patty beef burger was too much. <br/><br/>This place was giving me meat sweats! And as my friend said, "all I want right now is a piece of lettuce." Haha<br/><br/>Yes both burgers were all meat! Amazing for the carnivores out there. <br/><br/>The fries w chilli con carne I didn't really like. They were soggy and obviously drenched in sour cream and minced meat. Too much for me. <br/><br/>However the stuffed jalapeños were amazing, absolutely delicious and given the excellent service I'll rate this place a 4/5. <br/><br/>The food was heavy, very very heavy and it feels like it'll take me days to digest this so if your thinking of visiting this place I'd recommend that you don't eat for a day before hand!

Been here many times for the buffalo wing burger, jalapeño poppers and wings and will continue to do so. Half price wings during the day on weekends rock and the cocktails go nicely with the finger food.

Cold evening tonight but a warm welcome at The Collection Bar. Enjoyed Red Ales and Ginger Beers, perfect to freshen the palate and fortify the spirit. Dined on fried chicken burgers (with the most amazing blue cheese sauce) and the most fabulous mac and cheese croquettes....does life get any better!<br/>A genuine bar, great drinks selection and tasty food.

Nasty, soggy and extremely tasteless burger / do not recommend this place. We ordered through uber eats, but that shouldn't be an excuse for poor quality

Sometimes its a simple matter of a damn good burger, awesome mac n cheese and a great drink.<br/><br/>People do eat with their eyes, but dont let the picture of the burger i ordered fool you. It is flavour packed.<br/>Every ingredient between those buns is a real layer of flavour. <br/><br/>This was my first time visiting so i went with The Smoke House classic to keep it simple and was really satisfied and wowed..great great bang for buck here, huge flavour.<br/><br/>Had to follow up with the mac n cheese croquettes and was completely satisfied.<br/><br/>The old school music churning through the speakers added an awesome vibe and feel to the whole place.<br/><br/>The only thing i have to say about the New Cuban cocktail is "another one!"<br/><br/>Thank you for an awesome meal guys. <br/>Will be back

$10 cocktails and some tasty finger food make this a great place for after work drinks. I'm often here with work mates to wind down after the week. Can't go wrong really.

Loved this place. The buffalo sandwich was just like the ones in the states. Jalapeño poppers were awesome too! Will definitely be back to try the beef burgers.

Was looking for something to eat around the area when I stumbled upon this store. Nice music playing over the speakers but not too loud, and everyone's merry chatter, this makes for a very nice place to catch up with old friends. It also has an old pinball machine which adds to the interior.<br/>The bartender was a hardworking guy, making drinks and taking my order simultaneously. He was nice and polite. The waitress running around was also hardworking and polite.<br/><br/>What caught my eye was the simplicity of the burger called the 'smokehouse classic'. Ordered it without pickles and onions due to preference, looked quite small (as pictured).<br/>In my opinion, it was lacking a bit in terms of size but it did not lack at all in terms of taste. The patty was well marinated and cooked. It was tender and gave out a smokey taste. The sauce complemented the patty as well. Would definitely come back for more! 😁<br/>

We had a pleasant Saturday lunch. This place is more like an American style eatery/bar and we should definitely come again in the evening. <br/>Service was great, friendly and attentive and the decoration of the place is really cool.<br/>We had the 1$ buffalo wings, and although we're not a wings fan, they looked very tasty and we were not disappointed at all. Both beef and chicken burgers were delicious, but I had better in Melbourne.<br/>Also loved the variety of spicy sauces, will come back to try more!

Was in today for the $1 wings $5 beers and Bloody Mary's. The wings were as good as always and the Bloody Mary saved me after my night out last night. The stand out was the Smokehouse Burger though. Juicy and full of flavour. Definite must try.

Good service but really crap food. Had chips and a basic burger but it was too oily and blunt. My son had the nachos and they very ordinary. Not going back.... Sorry guys.

Love their burgers! I had the king crab roll and my partner had the smokehouse burger - both were delicious! Their burgers are on the smaller size though, and my partner said next time he would need to order two...

Love their burgers but it was a shame they changed from the Louisiana style menu. Either way they have me hooked so I will definitely be coming back.

Ordered via UberEats and our food was ready and on its way really quickly. The smokehouse classic burger is a really good burger. The patty has an amazing smokiness. The Alaskan king crab roll would've been nice if it wasn't so salty. Mac n cheese croquettes (great value!) and onion rings were pretty decent sides.

This place is great what more could you want? $1 wings, $5 tinnies and Jarrod. Standard wings quota you ask? 10 wings per person. But be prepared to bring in reinforcements.

Very slow service!!!<br/><br/>I waited 40 minutes for the fries. And 15 more minutes for the burger and chicken wings. It was not even a full house. They need to up their game in the kitchen.

Codalicious and I had heard from a regular that the chicken burger was top shelf. It was very tasty, but not too spicy. We also tried the wings, which had a little bit of kick. The venue has Sunday session potential with tinnies at $5 and wings at $1 each from 12-5pm. Worth a visit.

I really like that you can order different types of burgers. I went with the duck burger and although it's not something I would order everytime it was a good spin on your usual type of burger.

Came here for the Bloody mary on a sunday one time and was blown away! The food is fantastic. My partner got the peking duck burger and it was amazing. My bloody mary was also served with a burger ON TOP OF IT! How great is that. Drinks are on the slightly more expensive side but this is compensated with super friendly and informative service from the staff. Will be back!

Come here on a weekend afternoon for $1 buffalo wings. They are now better than the wings at Kodiak Club, fried perfectly, slightly crunchy and coated in a generous layer of sauce. Also highly recommend the chips - they look so unassuming but the second you bite into them you will realize they are amazing. They are coated in a thin layer of crispy batter and then seasons with old bay. Really addictive!

There are a few things that make a bar pretty much perfect. An intimate atmosphere with silent movies and fabulous music collection provide a great place to kick back. Have a drink or two while dining on some delicious burgers and wings. The staff are the best and very patient with kids. There is no pretention at The Collection and that's why it's my favourite!

My partner and I were strolling along bridge road looking for a bite to eat and decided to give this place a go and we were so happy we did! <br/>Awesome atmosphere, great music and attentive staff. We ordered the crab roll, chilli fries and the buffalo wings and everything was just amazing. Can't think of a single thing I would improve on! Would definitely come again!

I loved the vegan burger, sucks that it was the only option I could eat. Overall was impressed with the food, abit disappointed with my cocktail though :(

Our new favorite local. Good cocktails, decent wine and beer and such tasty food. The prices are good for richmond. I love the chicken wings and go for $1 wings on sundays 12-5pm. The vibe is fancy laid back to romantic. Inside is candle lit and the tables in front of the big window are lovely for a meal or a drink.

Great little Restaurant with nice bar area, great selection of American Burgers, chilli cheese fries, cocktails and beers, great service as well.

Great place great atmosphere very welcoming - cocktails fabulous. Whilst I am not a big fan of American snack style food what we had was delicious casual .... They did miss one part of our food order but nothing was a problem to sort out.... A good little place in Richmond Altho I secretly like to keep to self!! :)

This place has a nice atmosphere to it, with romantic candlelights at night and a projector playing old black and white movies. My husband and I had some burgers and even though the burgers are nice, I don't think they worth $18 each. The fries were nice too, although their sauce was spicy. I had the crab burger which I think was too salty.

My friends and I had a great night here last night, the only downside being the hour wait for a table (recommend to book ahead). I had the steak and it was absolutely spot on. The tasty BBQ sauce is delicious and permeates the entire dish. I'd have liked more so I could smother my chips in them though. I personally loved the chips, though friends commented that they were too salty. All burgers went down an absolute treat. This place was packed when we went, and it's not hard to see why.

I was so hungry after workout and found this place. You can feel Southern-American style when first walk-in; musics and decoration. Alaskan burger was just okay but I love beer battered chips!!!

American style burgers, fries, fried chicken and cocktail place. Couldn't fault the burgers, but the fries were so over-salty I couldn't eat them. Busy place, the music was booming, great friendly staff. I'd probably go back but tell kitchen to go easy on the salt...

The lovely ladies behind the bar were fantastic and really looked after us. Top notch cocktails and they really know their stuff. I haven't tried the food yet but will be back to give it a go.

Great delivery of steak on steak nice, along with a competitive price! This place has been getting busier and busier and I completely understand why. Cute, bustling little bar, perfect for friday night drinks!

If you crave southern American snacks this is the place. Delicious buffalo wings and chilli fries. Excellent selection of wines and beer.

Burger night on a Tuesday night is a brilliant value. Eleven dollars for a big juicy burger. I would like to come back here for cocktail night. A great venue.

Came here with 10 friends last night. Had a fantastic time. Our hostess, Charlie was extremely friendly and provided great service. We only ordered buffalo wings and Jalapeño poppers for the table. The buffalo wings were great! Hot, lots of meat, sticky sauce, definitely a winner. The poppers were also good, but lacked some of the flavour of the wings. Cocktails were enjoyed by the girls, and the guys were dead happy with their beers.<br/>

This is richmonds answer to the kodiak club and it is on point. Great cocktails, awesome food & good vibe. There staff can some times be hit & miss but usually they are excellent.

The one dollar buffalo and jerk wings are the best part about weekends! Can't get enough of them! I've tried eating a dozen by myself already.

Tuesday burger night was excellent. $11 for a really good burger plus fries or onion rings is great value. Only complaint is onion rings were a bit flavourless. I'll be back.

A great find and great stop to grab a drink and a bite to eat. With Jalapeño poppers, buffalo wings, burgers and more who could complain about the choices that are listed in front of you.<br/>Cocktails in hand and bites for lunch lead to a relaxing afternoon with friends.<br/>The burger was one of the best I have found in a long time and the smoked beef rib chilli fries.... well it speaks nothing but goodness.<br/>A great bar to stop by.

Never disappointed when I come here. Cocktails are fantastic with great booze knowledge from the staff and the buffalo wings are the best in Melbourne, real relaxed vibe and great range of hot sauce.

Excellent range of beer and cocktails. Can seriously recommend the cucumber gimlet. The buffalo wings are some of the best in Melbourne. <br/><br/>Also, the movies on the projector are brilliant

I love the collection. Great cocktails and they also do happy hour where they have some for $10. Went here before a dinner date and had a few cocktails, and loved it so much we came back after for hot mulled wine! Oh, and the burgers (which I've only had at home - delivered by Uber eats) are freaking amazing!! . <br/><br/>Comfy couches if you're just having a drink, as well as tables to sit down at for something to eat. Very nice, cosy decor and great ambience, as well as good service and helpful staff! The lemon pie cocktail tasted exactly like the curd in a lemon meringue pie, so delicious.

Great place, the atmosphere is a very authentic Southern feel! The food was great as well! We just kept ordering the small starter dishes as the night went on until we were full! Standout would have been the wings and the chilli chips. Although I would have preferred a bowl of that chilli without the soggy chips! Cocktails were ok but I just don't like paying $19 for cocktails after happy hour!!

I really like this place. They have a steak night during the week, which serves a good steak. I asked for it blue, and it came out blue which doesn't always happen. The cheap wings on the weekend are great if your drinking.

In love with their cucumber infused gin cocktail!!! Staff are very friendly and attentive. Have great food specials on with steak night and sunday hot wings! Never been dissapointed with meal here!

A little place off Bridge rd which has a reputation for cocktails and a Cajun and BBQ themed menu. Of course I checked if they had a burger option before hand – you never can be too safe. When we arrived, it was quite busy – what you would expect on a Friday night on Bridge Rd? Thankfully Sarah had booked so the four of us – Katie, Sarah and Dave headed in and grabbed our table. The menu has a lot of cocktail options – next time I might explore this part of the menu in a little more detail, but this time around it was more about the beer and the burgers. They have the Sierra Nevada Pale Ale on the menu which is a really,  really  good American beer, one of my favourites, and at $10 a bottle, not too bad for city

The other weekend I was really craving ribs and our BBQ was out of propane, so I found a little place near where we live that specialises in Southern American Cooking. They feature a Cajun style menu serving up things like creole, buffalo wings, jambalaya, and of course – slow cooked smoky ribs.

RIBS – TACOS – GUMBO – GIN Do I have your attention? Good! We are off to The Collection in Richmond. The Collection is nestled into the soul of Bridge Road, overflowing with old Melbourne charm and a menu filled with a selection of Southern American food.

The Collection had a silent black and white film on in the background, I think Charlie Chapman was playing. Wait staff were very friendly, helpful and nice, I left a generous tip. I have always loved the decor of The Collection. It used to be decorated in RED with a bright red sign out the front, however this has all changed to white.

The food was still very reasonably priced, the atmosphere relaxed, the food fast and tasty and the drink menu extensive. A good place to go if you feel like a night out with the family.

But the highlight for me were the cocktails themselves – they are different than the normal cocktail fare and darn good. For those of you that enjoy a shot of novelty in your cocktail, I definitely recommend the Bathtub Gin No. 1. Why? Because they serve it up in a miniature bathtub is why.

What Melbournians will be delighted to find is a cosy, relaxed interior with a backlit bar, a projector beaming old black and white movies on the wall and a courtyard out the back perfect for kicking back with friends.

Over charged. Great cocktails. It's a pity they tried to charge an extra $19 to our tab, thinking we were not going to notice. Put a damper on the whole night. Won't go back as many other great bars in the area.

Absolutely love this place!!! We frequent The Collection at least twice a month. Love the wings and the whiskey sours are amazing!

Haven't been here for a couple years but will be back very soon after a fun Sunday afternoon nursing some yummy pear cider and a vanilla vodka cocktail that was just so, and not too sweet and some yum tastic Southern inspired fries and some jalapeño poppers. Service was fast and friendly. Happy hour is from 4-7pm where $17 cocktails become $10 and the place gets pretty full...

Loved it!. Great atmosphere - loved the music, cocktails were fantastic! We had amazing people looking after us, really attentive and down to earth. The food was beautiful - I don't like spicy food that much but WOW I was happily surprised and really really enjoyed it actually we loved it!

Flipping awesome! Delicious food and drinks and service was fantastic, can't wait to go back. Had a great night, a big thanks to staff for taking such great care of us!

Great Food. Had the chicken wings / drumsticks and it does not get better that this!! Great flavour and definitely one to return to...

Terrible service. Waited for 15 mins at the bar and was completely ignored by all 5 bar staff. Pretentious staff and customers. Wouldn't waste my money on this kind of service again, not when there are so many other excellent choices of bars in Richmond.

Good little spot for a cheeky couple drinks and some snacks.... Wings are quite nice and would return for them. We ordered some and as the waiter brought them out he said they were a bit small and that the chef was cooking more for us... They weren't even that small but a great gesture

What a great place! The staff are ALL amazing and make you feel like you're there only customer. Add to that the drinks are exceptional and you have a superb bar!!

Went to the Collection on Friday night with friends for drinks and was disappointed. The night was topped off when it was time to pay the bill and the bar tenders response to 'can we split the bill' was "do I have to?"....what a joke! Then capped off with paying same off the total in cash and still having the full amount charged to the credit card. Pull your head in cause your inability to do simple sums is less than impressive.

Have become a regular at this place for two simple reasons - when done right (although it can be a little hit and miss), they do the best buffalo wings in Melbourne; and the service and ambience is awesome.<br/><br/>Update Nov 2013: the buffalo wings are no longer hit and miss - they are pretty much nailed every time now!

It's a miss. Watery cocktails, fatty untrimmed fried chicken, dry hush puppies, tough boney ribs, under seasoned mac n' cheese and gumbo that didn't taste of gumbo. There is better American food and friendlier service. Did I mention watery cocktails for $20?

Bad customer service. Tried to book a group for their cocktail class about a month ago. Person was really friendly on the phone and penciled in my booking. They said we would discuss the final details closer to the date. After ringing a few times closer to the date and getting "we'll call you back" answer, finally they called back to say the person taking the class was on holiday that day and it was my fault for not making the booking sooner. PLUS, I wanted to decorate the table for a friend's birthday, but apparently that is not "Kosher". Far, out just be honest, and say you didn't want to take us on! Now I only have less than two weeks to plan for this party. THANKS A LOT!

Great place. Popped in for some $1 buffalo wings on Sunday. Wings were great, lots of meat and a really yummy hot and sweet style sauce. Also ordered mac and cheese, some pork sliders, cajun fries and corn fritters. Everything was great, really pleasantly surprised. Service was great too, would definitely go back again.

Hands down un-bloody believable. Louisiana style cuisine, that's been absolutely nailed by the guys out the back with the big white hats. Not the KKK; the chefs, you knob. Look, get down there, have an amazing feed, mixed some equally fantastic drinking. Get off this website and get there. No excuses.

This has to be a favorite of mine in Richmond the southern food is great and the drinks are always amazing the staff there have to be the friendliest in Melbourne they always have time to have a chat and remember your name every time. Highly recommend this place to anyone

We went there just for mains. I dont know if this is standard American cuisine as ive never been there but the 6 of us absolutely hated it. All just so oily and fatty I would not recommend it at all. Great place for a drink and some lite nibbles but will certainly not be coming back for dinner.

Good Choice.. Came here for steak night here on Wednesday, absolutely delicious, Bearnaise sauce was amazing, one of the most perfectly cooked stakes I've ever had in Melbourne. Char-grilled on the outside, and perfectly pink in the center. Menu hosts a great choice of Southern dishes, had the stuffed Crab and Cheese Jalapeno's which were fantastic as well. Cocktail list is epic, and definitely worth a few visits.<br/>As a local, I'd say the bar potentially has the best clandestine ambiance of the Bridge Rd options between Burnley St and Church. Worth a visit.

Nice atmosphere, very ordinary food. I was very excited to hear about the Collection and its southern food. Unfortunately the food was highly dissappointing and the service very slow. Had to ask for water several times and was severely understaffed. Food was tasteless and greasy and not at all a good representation of the Creole food. Tasted like it was cooked by an inexperienced cook, not a chef in any way. I had the blackened fish which was overcooked, dry and oily, on a bed of plain rice - no presentation. My 4 friends had the fried chicken, gumbo and all were entirely unimpressed. The stuffed chillis were the highlight entree. The garlic and worcestershire prawns were great. Mostly on par with an RSL meal. I wouldnt go back. Sorry.

Great, great , great. This is one of the finest southern USA fine food joints I've ever been too. We went for the pulled pork sliders, jalapeno poppers and ribs for starters then the chicken gumbo and the shrimp casserole type thing (forget the name). The poppers and the sliders were fantastic. The ribs were not great, not enough meat on them. Then came the mains, the gumbo was mesmerising. I'm still remembering it now. The "shrimp caserole" (forget its real name) was alos quite wonderful. This was washed down with superb craft beers.The ambience was great and the service superb. Will cettainly go back, though this time will change the ribs for the southern fried chicked that everyone seemed to be eating. Great music too. Les the old style movies and put some Basebal World Series highlights up instead.

Cocktails. This bar has the potential to be the best cocktail bar in Melbourne. Well, maybe top 3... but damn good. The Everleigh, Black Pearl, maybe Golden Monkey, Eaux de Vie. 2 of the best bartenders in the country, great drinks, great food... now there are 2 great places in Bridge Rd, only need to change the other 500!

Bar - Great. Food service needs love. The boys are passionate behind the bar, and they mix a good brew. Change that help wanted sign in the window, you don't need another barman. Hire a waiter to look after the diners - it shouldn't take 40 minutes to cook chicken wings, and the mains shouldn't arrive halfway through the entrees and just be plonked on the table to go cold.

Went here on a Tuesday night, using a Scoopon which allowed me to use up to $70 on any food and drink. When I bought the Scoopon there was a different menu do I was a little disappointed that the menu had changed. However the service was great. We got a Nilla Killa cocktail and that was really good, reminded me of a lolly I had when I was little. Food was very tapas like we had corn fritters, the special of the night was crocodile and shrimp quiche which was really good, green onion potato as a side and Louisiana Fried chicken had no flavor at all but the chicken was nice and moist. Don't think I would go there without a Scoopon as it is quite pricey for what you get, then again it would be good to go there for drinks and some snacks!

OVERPRICED FOOD. Small food portions & expensive & average taste. Didn't try the cocktails but I will not be back.

It was a very trendy stylish warehouse conversion with hard wood polished floors, brick facade wall with olden day movies playing on a projector screen with funky music playing. It was packed, lucky we made a reservation. Service was slow, and it took half an hour to even get water plus drinks, but once ordered, things were good. The wait was worth it! I have a whole new appreciation for Louisiana style Southern Soul food! Love the flavours. I got the Creole Shrimp and corn bread as a side. Great flavours. The stuffed jalepino Side was fantastic, as were the hot sauce and home made BBQ sauce. All over, a great experience.

For midweek alone time.. One of the best places for a quiet, late night glass of wine and some Pâté.

Delicious Tapas. Although the bar is a little cramped and the service can be lapse when busy, the shared food or tapas is amazing. You don't have to wait too long for it either. The cocktails also went down quite quickly.

Great service and food. Went to this Tapas bar last Friday and found it to be extremely nice. The staff were all over us to ensure we were happy. It is surprising since we were there with a Scoopon voucher. The cocktails we had were very nice and the many dishes we ordered were delightful. This would be a great place to go to after work for a drink and a nibble.

Best Cocktails on Bridge Road. The ridiculously good looking bartender makes amazing long island iced teas! This bar has a really nice atmosphere & tasty tapas menu. The service is fast and friendly too!

Warmly welcomed upon arrival. Staff forgot us 3 times & it was by no means a busy afternoon. The tables and chairs appeared dirty. Would be fine as a bar when the lights are down low - although not a hygienic looking restaurant/bar by day.

Loved it! Went there on a scoopon with the other half. It was a busy Friday night- it was a mix between a restaurant/ bar vibe. Staff were friendly, albeit maybe a little understaffed. We had the potatos bravas (amazing!), arancini balls, calamari, prawns, chicken and haloumi skewers to share. All amazing!! Had a few cocktails too which were tasty. Will definately will be back!

Good service, tasty tapas, if a little eclectic. Very friendly and accommodating service. The tapas menu is a bit all over the place, with Greek, Spanish, Latin American and Asian influences among others. we had Saganaki, calamari, empanadas, eggplant and goats cheese wrapped in prosciutto and patatas bravas. The portion sizes seem very small, but they're $7 - $9 each so actually represent excellent value for money and like tapas should be - the chance to try out lots of little things. Too many 'tapas bars' try to sell you three things at $30 each, wheas the collection does it more like the real thing. <br/>Oh and all of the dishes we had were very good, particularly the empanadas. great cocktail food!

Rude bar staff. I've only been to the Collection once and won't be returning as the bar staff were so rude it left me wondering if they were purposly trying to drive us away. They seemed to suffer from some misguided superiority complex and happily made fun of us, interrupted our conversations and generally spoke over top of us.<br/>Arrogant gits who are too cool for school.

Can't fault it. Really impressed with The Collection Bar.<br/><br/>Tapas are delish, everything we tried we were happy with. Prices excellent. Can't fault the service, surprisingly brilliant for a bar like this. Even though we had a coupon, the bar man made us feel top class. <br/><br/>Atmosphere is touch lacking, didn't feel as cosy as I wanted it to, but that may have been the miserable weather. <br/><br/>Definitely recommend.

Great Service. On arrival we were immediately greeted by a friendly waiter. We used a Scoopon voucher without issues, and our service was not compromised. There were quite a few things such as prawns and other seafood that weren't available, but the food we chose was very nice. I can't emphasize enough, just how great how waiter was, he was friendly and attentive.

Cosy and comfortable surrounds. Staff friendly and accommodating. Cocktails are awesome. The chili cocktail is worth a try! Tapas are fresh and delicious. This is quickly becoming a firm favorite venue.

Great atmosphere. Walked in without reservation with a on Scoopon on busy Sat at about 6.30pm. Staff were friendly and accomodating. Offered to seat us at the bar to await table. We were happy to eat and drink at the bar. Had a sensational tapas plate - arancini balls, salt and pepper squid, chicken skewers and dips. Very happy with service. Will return even without Scoopon.

We were stopping by to have an entree and a wine before dinner at maedaya, had never really noticed this bar despite being Richmond locals. Ordered the mezze plate and got caught up with the cocktails, a few hours later completely abandoned our plans for a Japanese dinner. The atmosphere was relaxed, bar staff were friendly and we really enjoyed our spontaneous evening... Will pay the collection another visit soon...

Mixed. Collection bar was a 2nd choice as I had underestimated the popularity of Maedaya and we were unable to get a table there.<br/><br/>I wish I had booked at Maedaya, as my experience this time around at Collection was odd, to say the least. <br/>I have been to Collection Bar a number of times and as far as I can recall each of those times it was enjoyable. This time, well not so great. <br/><br/>I ordered a glass of Chandon, they had run out, so I had to settle for the only other by the glass champagne (house) and there was no offer of any other on the menu by the glass. We ordered 6 plates of tapas, all were nice. Tried to order desert, the one item of the two we had to choose from they also didn't have. After paying, our bill (with the change) never returned from the bar. We waited abotu 15mins before asking, only to find our change had been put in the tips jar. Rude.<br/><br/>Our waitress was very lovely but knew nothing, as it was her first day. It would be good if she got some help around learning the drinks and tapas menu.
