Reasonable quality for a local fish and chip shop. Very affordable pricing. Could have more vegetarian options
Great service, fantastic old school fish and chips, reasonably priced!
Highly recommend!
I had the fish burger combo and was very satisfied. The customer service is surprisingly awesome, especially from the lady who has the most infectious smile.
The owner is a super nice lady, always warm and welcoming. For the price you can’t beat it. Great quality food, this place is a hidden gem, that coastal fish and chip shop feel without the Melbourne price tag.
So delicious! Large piece of!Flake, very crispy chips plus a nice side salad. You can tell the oil they use here is fresh! So worth a visit, I cant wait to return! On too of all of this, the service here is fast and super friendly.
This is our new local. The fish is decent and the service excellent.
My feedback would be to go a little easier on the salt across everything, and the burgers would be way better if the bread was toasted slightly.
Just opened and nice clean for out and shop which is strong improvement on the previous fish shop here. Hope this goes well being a local and it should as it was all pretty good stuff!
With winter quickly approaching and looking for some fish and chips in my local area, discovered a real gem! A new arrival on Bridge Rd Richmond.
Fisherboy has recently opened and is providing traditional fish and chips, great hamburgers and all the favourites we love. Great fitout for shop, very clean. Seating available inside and outside and the locals seemed quite impressed to have a local chipper back in the heart of Richmond.
I would say pricing is excellent, value for your dollar, with quality fish and crispy, crunchy chips. Loved the gravy and the dimmies. Also calamari is freshly made and excellent. Hamburgers are top shelf, total quality and very tasty!
Massive burgers.....and my flake was huge also. Best fish and chips in Richmond. Have tried the rest and this shop is the real deal.
Also the other positive is the staff, very friendly and are keen to please.
Highly recommend this place, you will not be disappointed.
No overpriced hype here where the food is average. Fish and chips done well, attention to detail comes first at Fisherboy. Cheers to all.
A little different walking into a fish and chip shop expecting to be greeted by the cliche type of proprietor, but greeted by a group of lovely Asian workers (not to say that other races aren't lovely).
I ordered myself the 'The Lot Burger', my partner ordered the 'Fish Burger' with 'chips + drink' combo, and 5 chicken Nuggets (can be ordered individually in serves of as many pieces as you like).
The lady attendant recommended a seat by the fan to get away from the heat outside (31°), and suggested making use of the complimentary bottled water (chilled) & glasses.
The low prices set an expectation that the ordered burgers would be small, low quality, or just stacked with chips.
My 'The Lot Burger' arrived, and to my delight was none of the mentioned expectations. The burger was nice and large and the flavour was quite good.
It's no high end restaurant per se, but this place is brilliant if you're after some good fish and chips at a very modest price.
Try it out!
Really a good lunch and snacks break choice and lovely staff to talk to. Recommend my preferred crispy fish and chips, and really good price. Nice dining experience!
I went in for lunch on the first day of business for this new venture, and was very impressed. Clearly a lot of work has taken place to renovate the premises, which are incredibly clean, with quality fixture and fittings.
There is a very extensive menu, with a range of fish, burgers, and all the favourites you would expect to see in a chippery (such as dim sims, potato cakes, calamari rings and spring rolls).
I expected the prices to reflect the class of the establishment, but was pleasantly surprised by how reasonable the cost was. A very generous serving of freshly-cooked flake and chips with salad cost me less than ten bucks.
The love shown during the renovation is also evident in the quality of the food. The homemade cabbage and carrot side-salad was incredibly refreshing, thanks to the clever addition of mint, and having the healthy salad made me feel less guilty for choosing fried fish in a delicious batter.
The staff were very friendly and professional, and all wore matching colours (one of the many small touches that sets Fisherboy apart from other fish and chips I’ve been to).
It’s very difficult to find fault – perhaps supplying newspapers for those waiting for takeaway might be helpful, but this is a minor quibble.
Fisherboy is a great new addition to the many eateries on Bridge Road, and I will definitely be back for more. Perhaps next time, I will treat myself to dinner – particularly after the pending liquor licence has been approved so I can enjoy a glass of wine with my fish.
Fish was good not super good it’s very thin. But fries here were pretty good! If you want some seasoning on your chips ask them for a lot :)
Service were very nice friendly staffs 👍🏻😊
Haven't been here for a while but hopefully will brb soon. I had a good meal sitting outside years ago. Fish and chips. And a dog passing by, jumped on my thighs, trying to grab my food too. "I'll be back" [T-800].
Crispy light fish batter (which you take note of), crunchy chips and creamy tender calamari rings. Delicious. You can tell these guys take care in their product and make an effort to provide quality. Service was fast and professional.
