Review Be The Duck - Richmond

I grabbed a take away coffee from here. The service was friendly. My strong skinny latte was good and I liked the latte art. But the coffee was watery which was a bit unfortunate. Overall I'd be happy to go back though and this place has a courtyard and hot food too.

The new barista - Juliet - is a gem. Really knows her craft and is lovely and sunshiney. Thanks for making my day brighter

Truly sublime food, and excellent coffee. I was warned I would form an addiction... And I did, after which I promptly returned home to lash myself twenty three times to expel the demon of craving. For I did indeed crave more of this tasty, godliness. Through me the divine themself has made this recommendation.

Nice place. We ate here after we went to IKEA. The lunch was nice. Staff were friendly. Wheelchair accessible to the front section of venue. Not so for the courtyard out back. Street parking available.

I love the coffee here and the staff all do an amazing job! The peanut butter butter protein balls are amazing too.

Friendly local service where the barista knows your name and order before you even have to ask. My partner claims “best bacon and egg roll in all of Melbourne”. Even my doggo can’t walk by without popping in to say hi. Would recommend 100%.

A great new cafe on Burnley St. Food is amazing and there's an option to create your own dish. Friendly service 😊

Excellent coffee (Long Black) served with a smile. Look out for them on Burnley St if you are zooming past. Definitely worth the pit stop if you are keen for a brew.

2.5/5
I visited this cafe and I ordered a bacon and egg roll and a coffee. The service was ok.

My t/a strong latte wasn’t too good. It tasted weak and watery. Disappointing really. I couldn’t finish it to be honest.

The bacon and egg roll on Turkish bread was alright but the Turkish bread wasn’t toasted and it was too thick and it wasn’t the best.

Overall it was pretty average.

Richmond newbie Be The Duck has taken up residence on a quiet section of Burnley Street. With his experience at Matteo’s and Hare & Grace, Head Chef and owner Tom Skocic introduces some fancy touches to the menu like twice-cooked pork belly and confit duck salad.

Best chicken snitzel roll, simple nothing fancy . Chicken was perfectly cooked and it was huge as compared to the price i paid. Staff was super friendly.

I frequent this place often for a takeaway coffee while waiting for my laundry next door. This time round I decided to sit in for a meal and boy was it good.

Had a lamb shoulder roll which was fresh and tasty, along with 2 coffees and a muffin to takeaway. Total damage for my visit was just around $21 which is insanely good value for money! Considering the fact that you'd paying more than that for just a meal and a coffee at many other places.

LOVE this place! The fritters are just to die for, plenty of clean food options. Reasonably priced and laid back vibe, great option away from the hustle of Bridge Rd.

This newly opened cafe located very close to Victoria Gardens shopping centre is a great place to stop and de-stress after trying to work your way out of IKEA.

We started off our brunch with some smooth coffee that really hit the spot. One is never enough when the coffee is great so we asked for a second. Ahhh Heaven!

Service was friendly and efficient and after asking for some recommendations, we opted for the "The Nest" which consisted of soft boil mousseline glazed eggs, raw shaved asparagus, inhouse made squid ink grissinni, pork floss and grapefruit segments on smashed avo toast. This was a delightful dish and very flavoursome.

The cafe has some great healthy options with the Bloody Mary Breaky - a combination of ancient grains and Gogi berries with tomato, bacon and wafer croutons. We also loved the concept of the Veggie Burger Stack which came with a braised field mushroom as the bun. The burger comprised a veggie patty with lettuce, tomato, cucumber and caramelised onion. We thought perhaps adding some goats cheese to this would take it to the next level.

The cafe has lovely decor and has a great outdoor courtyard with shelter and heating. The ability to fully open their doors/windows to street frontage provides for a very inviting feel as you walk past.

Overall we thought the menu had some great options and with just a few minor tweaks this new cafe could really be a stand out. We would definitely come back to try more.

Thank you for inviting us to experience your new venture!

With an incredibly creative and interesting menu, Be The Duck undoubtedly breaks the norm of your average cafe. With innovative dishes that sport decorative components that add flare, we were definitely surprise on both taste and presentation.
It’s still early days for this recently established cafe, but with some fine-tuning, owner and chef Tom can definitely elevate these unique dishes to the next level.

Nice little cafe with a unique menu. I ordered the Asian chilli scrambled eggs which came with mushrooms, pork lardons, broccolini and prawn crackers. A hearty dish with bold flavours and the perfect amount of heat. The venue itself was a little cold so could probably do with some better heating.

Such a delightful & flavoursome menu! With well put together & clean dishes! There was a group of us and we tried a number of the dishes! We had the "The nest" "midnight oats" a twist on the "Bloody Mary" and the yummiest fritters around town!

Can't wait to go back and try lunch!
