Review Homeslice Pizza - Richmond

Vicki Koutsoumbos
Wow, our family drove quite a distance to meet up with friends in the Richmond area, we can not say enough about the quality and service, nice ambient music with a clean premises, letโ€™s support family businesses. We will definitely remember the flavours and wish you all the best in business. Cheers from the Adelaide group.

This is the pizza!! If you love Italian and you love pizza then you canโ€™t go past this little no fuss place for an authentic Italian style pizza. All pizza made to order by hand the traditional way. Choose to eat in with a salad and a glass of red, or take away. The locals favourite.

Cute little place.off the main drag of Swan Street. Tasty authentic pizza. We ate in and it was a relaxed experience. Would definitely come again! Only has seats for 10 people.

The pizza was of exceptional quality. However this place has terrible service, also the pizzas aren't load up with toppings, they're light on the toppings. Significant better then domino's but you have to be ready to wait 20 minutes for it.

Awesome pizzas. Their pizzas can be enough for 2 people. A variety of pizzas are available and they use gourmet stuff. The people working there are awesome and very friendly as well! My only regret? I wish i found this place when I came in Melbourne on Day 1 Only found out about this place last month. Definately going next time.๐Ÿ˜€

Unpretentious, tasty, fresh food! Such an amazing find. Lovely and friendly service :) I hardly finish a whole pizza on my own but it was so tasty and balanced. Pumpkin was delicious! Thanks you <3

Ordered the roast chicken, and pumpkin and goat cheese pizzas. Pumpkin pizza had only very little goat cheese on it but otherwise tasted good. Limited vegetarian range.

Absolutely brilliant pizza, possibly the nicest I've had in Melbourne (and there are some bloody good pizza establishments in this city!) Fig and Gorgonzola may sound unusual but tastes absolutely delicious - well worth trying! Also had the Capricciosa, which likewise was fantastic. The base is spot-on and all the ingredients used on the pizza were very high quality and tasty. You can tell the owner - Karl - takes real pride in the quality of the pizzas and the service that's offered. You can taste it in the end result. Really highly recommend Homeslice if you're anywhere vaguely near Richmond and would like to try one of the best pizzas this city has to offer.

Overall A good pizza perfectly baked.
As a person who have tasted pizzas quite over different countries, i would say the taste of the cheese did not bring much of a good flavour.

Ambience: Not a great place to sit and enjoy, takeaway is a better option.
2/5

Price: A bit over priced for the size.
3/5

Food: 3.5/5

Great little place in Richmond for traditional style Italian pizzas, friendly staff. Must try the new pizzas such as the fig pizza and the salads are super great.
Thats My Food
Iโ€™ve had some amazing pizzas from great pizzerias recently and this place was no different. My craving for a pizza led me to Homeslice pizza and I was not disappointed at all. This place is located in Richmond on Lennox street. They have a very small place and you can choose to sit outside or inside in their very well lit and cozy restaurant. The Pizzas are handmade and cooked fresh in front of you. The staff is polite and friendly. I ordered a Prosciutto ($19) and an Inferno pizza ($20).

Tasty pizza and good service. Tucked away off swan street, this pizza place is worth a try if looking for a quick pizza. The inferno pizza was great, the prawn pizza was not that good, the serving of prawn was quite small, could barely see any. The pizzas tasted nice, a bit too thin in the middle and became very soggy.

AMAZING!! ๐Ÿ˜ these guys know how to make a great pizza! Flavours were absolutely perfect, the inferno was actually spicy and had the addition of garlic which was soooo good. Unlike other pizza places, when I order a spicy pizza I expect to feel the heat, and these guys did not disappoint! Capricciosa pizza was super yummy too. Great bases, filing and satisfying without the usual pizza bloat afterwards! And the pizza sizes are quite large too! Great value for money. Staff are lovely too. So happy I found this place. Iโ€™ll be back! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿผ

Great service. Great pizza

Great pizza - pumpkin a must try - best pumpkin pizza Iโ€™ve had in Melbourne. Friendly service as well. Great place to have randomly stumbled upon on way to the footy!

Great authentic pizza, simple toppings with big flavour, the true Italian way. Friendly staff. The inferno is a must! Our regular pizza place, a local favourite.

I got a couple of take away pizzas tonight for dinner. The inferno and the pork cheek pizza.

They were ok but light on w ingredients and a bit greasy. I havenโ€™t had pork cheek before and the flavour was ok.

The inferno had some good spice but once again the ingredients were limited. Average overall.
Dora & Craig
Pizzas are good, but very stingy with their toppings which is very disappointing. We also ordered a pumpkin salad which was good. Their pizzas are overpriced considering how little the toppings are given.
Josh Mackwell
Great atmosphere, short wait time and even managed to get a few seats on a Friday night. Added bonus was the discount through EatClub. Pizzas fresh and Stone & Wood beers nice companions.

Nice place and friendly staff.Had Margherita and Pumpkin Pizza and both the Pizza were amazing especially the thin base and the cheese....Happy to recommend to any pizza lovers out there.. ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿ‘

These pizzas are so great! I ordered in for some friends and I and we all loved them! Thin yummy bases and great toppings, Iโ€™ll be back again & again & again! Must try!
The prosciutto pizza from Homeslice is the closest I can get to being in Florence, without leaving Richmond. Iโ€™ve tried a few from the menu - but always go back to the prosciutto, which is freshly sliced on site as they pull your pizza from the oven ๐Ÿ‘Œ๐Ÿผ

Good pizza option in Richmond. Generous toppings and nice thin bases. We tried the inferno and the roast chicken pizzas. I really enjoyed the inferno in particular.

Delicious pizza and the guys here are so lovely! Really nice chilled out place. The roast chicken pizza is delicious! Highly recommend ๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€๐Ÿ˜€

Not great unfortunately. Both pizzas ordered with ham, and the ham was the problem. It had a strange taste, texture and didn't taste fresh.. like it had been frozen and defrosted and reheated.. or it was past it's used by date. We ended up removing the ham off both pizzas. The bases were thin which was nice, they had a good flavor. The other toppings were sparse and cut quite small.

Base and crust were okay, not tooooo shabby.

Brussel sprouts? Lol.... I had 7 leaves fluffed around my pizza that officially made it a Brussel sprout pizza!!!

Wouldn't recommend plenty of other decent joints about
IsFoodIsGood
Very quick service. Can't go wrong at this place. It's never busy and the staff are attentive and very quick.
Pizza is of thin crust variety - we ordered the salami one and it was delicious.
Myles
Pizza was great as it wasn't greasy and mine was cooked perfectly. NB: this place is new and I'm sure they will improve a great deal overtime so I'm not going to be excessively overcritical.

Great to see more businesses filling up Lennox street!

Yasssssss! This pizza was bomb AF. Ordered it on uber eats for my depressing Saturday night at home watching Netflix #singlelife anyways... pizza cheered me right up! 10/10 would recommend! Thanks homeslice :)
Julia Mary
Ordered on uber eats and waiting 90 mins. The pizza was luke warm and my chicken pizza had hardly any pizza. Uber eats gave us a refund. Very disappointing experience

Ordered through Uber Eats
-The Inferno was incredibly garlicky, and bordering on inedible. It is also one of the oiliest pizza's i've had in a long time
- Pork Sausage - not very much sausage, only tasted like the pizza sauceWe were really looking forward to a good pizza night and this was a solid let down, not value for money, I'd happily have dominos instead.
Rusty
Very hit and miss. Have had some good (not great) pizzas from here but also some very average. marg was undercooked, incredibly greasy and so garlicky it would be inedible to a normal person, i love garlic a lot and i really couldn't enjoy this one bit. (In fairness, i asked for garlic but assumed it would be a palatable amount)
Rebecca R
Got uber eats from here and it was amazing. Drooling thinking about how good the base of this pizza was and the delicious toppings. Very generous!
Kirby
Ordered through UberEats because our usual pizza place was closed - massively disappointing. The dough on the pizza is meh - not crispy, not deep pan, just so average. The tomato sauce used as the base was really bland - actually tasted like homebrand tinned tomato paste. Margherita pizza came with a minimal amount of cheese and three leaves of basil, and the Sicilian was overly salty but had no real flavour. Thanks for an overpriced, underwhelming experience.
Sof
Ordered the prosciutto on ubereats the other day and have no complaints. Prosciutto was generously laid across the top, but haven't tried any other pizzas so cannot comment on the consistency of generosity of toppings. Overall, a positive experience! Crust and toppings were delicious. The most affordable prosciutto pizza I've ever ordered, and will definitely be ordering again whenever cravings strike! Pizza was a little cold when it arrived, but I strongly suspect this was the fault of the uber, rather than the restaurant. Bravo!
Duygu
The dough is nice and thin but toppings are a bit of a fail. They can really add a bit more for the amount of $$ they charge. Although they sort of make up for it by delivering pizza AND booze.
Elyse
Worst pizza ever. If your going to advertise toppings how about actually putting no them on the pizza?! Bland, empty, and no toppings. Prawn pizza had 8 tiny tiny prawns, no lemon no chilli no Natha but a few slices of mozzarella! So so so hangrey right now because it's not even worth the calories.
David Kane
Had the prawn pizza from uber eats very minimal toppings for price but the dough was tasty most likely would not order this again as competitors are doing much better.
KopiOjoe
First time trying Home Slice Pizza. Ordered two pizzas. The prosciutto was delicious and definitely value for money. However, we were very disappointed with our prawn pizza. The whole pizza only came with three prawns (?!) it felt like we were eating a plain pizza with just the cheese and rocket. :(
Birdman
Got the prosciutto and added pork sausage. Wasn't a bad pizza but could be a bit more generous with the toppings. Had some of the inferno pizza which was spicy (as per the name) but tasted pretty ordinary I thought. Had massive dramas with uber eats however not sure whose fault it was so I have not incorporated it into the rating.

Ordered the oily, cold, flavouless 'pork cheek' (more cheese than anything else) pizza and the dried fig and balsamic drowned salad through uber eats. Our poor driver called us to tell us he'd been sitting there for 45 minutes waiting for our overdue order. An hour had passed since placing the order, so I called homeslice and the person that answered fumbled around looking for our order and quickly muttered a sorry and hung up before I could respond.

When it finally came, it was cold, oily, undercooked, there were barely and toppings and the salad was more of a balsamic soup thst was so incredibly tart we couldn't eat it. Never again.

Yummmmm! Ordered the inferno pizza and prosciutto pizza, lots of flavour, crispy crust and generous toppings! The heat is perfect on the inferno and can taste the thyme too. These guys know flavour compare to other places on Bridge Rd/ Swan St. Arrived on time and nice delivery guy. Will order again!

Spectacular pizza.ย
I cocked up and ordered gluten free accidentally online. When I called back telling them it wasn't up to scratch compared to the other times, they pointed out I'd ordered gluten free (I checked, I had...) Regardless of my mistake, Homeslice was so understanding and immediately made new pizzas on non-gluten free bases, and the new pizzas were great, as always. Delicious, thin based pizza with top quality ingredients. And my wife thinks Miles is delightful.ย
Service and pizzas were so good I felt that I needed to create a new account just to write this review.ย
Highly recommended.
Madeline
Very poor service. Ordered pizza by calling first to see if they would deliver to Hawthorn, confirmed they would at the time of call. One and a half hours later we call back to see where the pizzas are and excuses made firstly saying delivery driver had attempted delivery but had the wrong mobile number then stating they couldn't make delivery as they would need to take the 'M1'. Very disappointing.

Awesome pizza.
Great dough, and interesting toppings. Check out the pork and sprout pizza - so good. Only one white and red on the menu. We had a glass each and they were good house wines - especially the Sauvignon blanc. Definitely our new pizza place.

Best pizzas, great service, guys who run it are so friendly - I couldn't have enjoyed it more. Richmond needed a top quality pizza place and this place has filed the void.

Stopped here for a pre-game feed with mates before heading to the MCG. Had the Inferno pizza and a couple of Stone & Woods, and what a winning combo that was! Delicious pizza, craft beer, friendly staff and real local community vibe - everything you want from a local pizza place. Thanks homies, I will certainly be back!

The guys at homeslice went out of their way to deliver to my work place, before they had established their delivery service. Great service, responsive, on time and freshly made pizzas. Pizzas were fantastic, fresh, gourmet, well priced and delicious. Particular favorites were the pork sausage and pumpkin. Thanks guys.

Best pizza I've had in ages!!! Try the Pumpkin pizza- yum! Don't know why people are complaining about the price-any decent pizza is around $17 these days. Definitely worth it.
Thomas Anthony Wells-Quinn
A good idea but poorly executed. Could start by saying that the place looks great and the staff are friendly but open your box of pizza and prepare for the sort of disappointment I'm sure some people in arranged marriages feel on their wedding nights. Based on the shape of the pizza I can only applaud their approach to equal opportunity hiring practices as whoever is making these bad boys isn't familiar with circles. It would also be worth spending some time with the chefs to explain that you can use the whole pizza and don't need to just drop all the ingredients in the middle and then hope that they will make their own way to the crust. The combination of ingredients needs review-the choices are about as inspiring as Essendon's premiership chances. Speaking of, hopefully you've brought your own peptides as the pizzas are too small for the price. Total rethink required. I hope they take the other more eloquent reviews here into consideration. Pictures of the tropical and inferno.

To be honest, we are a little disappointed. The pizzas are overpriced for their size and content. Very light on flavour and ingredients. If we'd paid half the price we would consider them reasonable value. Not worth lining up for.
Random Chef.
After a bit of reading decided to go see the new pizza place, shop looks good, the guys were friendly. Pizza was dismal.

Honestly, I know food. It's my job. Hand stretched pizza doesn't mean misshapen and lazy, improve the sauce it's boring, spread your buffalo mozzarella. It's on 1/4 the pizza, Think about the eatability of it. And put some toppings on it. Gone are the days when I'll pay 18$ for 3 bits of salami. It's not rustic it's piss poor quality control.

I'll be back in a few months, it's got the foundation to rock Richmond, will be very interesting to see how they go, surrounded by some of the best pizza places in Victoria.
FOOD TRIP
Cool, bright and simple, Homeslice is a very chill pizza joint. There were lots of walk-ins even though the place wasn't officially open yet! The staff were quick and friendly even though it was busy. Great service with a smile. Inferno ย $19.00. with soft spicy salami, smoked ham, porcini & mozzarella, with a garlic and thyme base.

Homeslice is the next venture from Daragh Kan and Myles Munro โ€“ the people behind Mr Burger and Fancy Hankโ€™s (and soon, Welcome to Thornbury, a the food-truck park and beer garden) โ€“ and business partner Hugh Hindle (Tall Timber). Together with head chef Antony Campbell (ex-Enoteca Sileno), theyโ€™ve put together a menu that deviates a little from the combinations typically found on pizzas.
