Ben shewry's Masterpiece. Truly a wonder to visit. Came for food, stayed for Love.
Ordered the Classic Menu for takeaway at home tonight for my partners birthday and we were very impressed!
I've been wanting to try Attica for the longest time after always seeing how popular and how many awards it receives. From our little taster tonight, I understand why!
The potato cooked underground was so tasty (slightly smoky) and the cream and salt bush complimented the potato so well. The lamb was cooked to perfection and I loved the addition of the pine nuts to the dish. It appeared small but was actually quite filling.
Although I'm not really fan of trifle and would have preferred another dessert, it was done well and a lovely consistency. It was a very simple dessert so my only criticism would be a slightly more sophisticated dessert with more textures to be more in line with the rest of the meal.
It was great that it came with a menu and very simple instructions. It was also delivered before the arranged time.
Amazing work Attica, looking forward to our dine in experience after lockdown!
Absolutely beautiful food. We ordered the at home tasting menu on what was meant to be our wedding night. The instructions were easy to follow and made it more engaging to plate the food together. My meat loving fiancé declared the roast carrot dish to be the best fish of the night, we couldn’t finish all the deserts so saved two for the following days. We both enjoyed every dish and savored the flavors.
One kinda cool thing about lockdown life has been all the new takeaway options. Fancy places doing cheaper takeaway, where you might have to do a little assembly at home. After weeks of not going anywhere we decided to treat ourselves with Attica at Home, somewhere we probably wouldn’t get to go to normally.
Covid-19 lockdown has allowed Attica to offer meals for home and I’m not complaining.
One evening I decided to order ‘Ben Shewry’s Family meal’ which was lasagne, salad made with Attica's garden produce and a house baked pull apart garlic bread. The lasagne was really good and had leftovers for the next day. The garlic bread was rich and buttery, but perhaps too buttery.
Overall, good meal.
Definite a must visit if you live in or visit Australia!
To dine in Attica is to experience Native Australian elements at its core and understanding our land as well as the unique produce it cultivates.
Native ingredients are harder to work with because they are more difficult to harness and there’s a huge lack of information on them. Attica strives to provide the experience of discovering what Native Australia has to offer ✅
Wanted to say a special thanks for Ben and Attica for this memorable experience and it was great to be more cultured with what Australia has to offer.
May 2020 - 3.5. Ordered the lasagne and pull apart garlic bread as takeaway. The garlic bread was delicious - soft and garlicky, however I thought the lasagne could have had more sauce. The pastry and meat was nice, but I love having a very saucy lasagne and this wasn't one of them. Saying that, it was great value considering the usual price at Attica...
Oct 2019 - 5. One of the best degus experiences in Melbourne. Had been here once before just before they were in the top 50 restaurants in the world, and admittedly, I thought the food either bland or too salty. Second time round, I enjoyed it immensely! Lovely setting with impeccable service, not too formal, allowing for an intimate dinner with friends. For $295 it isn't cheap, but definitely worth the culinary experience. The mixed drinks to match was also a great way to try both alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages.
- 'from our back': love the idea of a selection of plants/protein to mix and match. Who would've thought I would be a fan of green ants!
- vegemite scroll: delicious, worth the hype.
- savoury/sweet tarts: tasty and original
- emu liver bagel: bread and jam work perfectly with the pate
- sticky wattle and pearl dumpling: nice although not as memorable as the other dishes
- saltwater croc ribs: never had croc ribs before, they're surprisingly soft and sandy. A really tasty dish, great marinade.
- crab and wattle bread: one of my fav dishes, crab sandwich with butter was delicious
- burru with truganini: the raw roo was delicious
- potato in kelp: interesting
- marron: tasty
- vegan burger: a very tasty burger, although not sure it suits the style of the meal.
- finger lime and sugarbag honey: a sharp contrast between sour and sweet, interesting but not my fav
- black ant lamington: looks great, I could feel the ant legs down my throat (deserved revenge of the ant...)
- cherry ripe: can't actually recall the taste (writing this review many months after the meal)...
Overall, a wonderful dining experience with very unique and delicious food. Highly recommended.
Covid means that we can try Attica at home and honestly it did not disappoint. I don’t normally eat lamb because of the smell but Ben Shewry’s dish is really really good. I don’t know how to describe it but honestly if you have a chance to try this, please do, really worth it
Attica at home thanks to lockdown.
Had the classics at home menu recently during lockdown. Really amazing to get the opportunity to eat at one of the world's finest at anytime, even more special now given the circumstances. Would highly recommend getting involved, and supporting Attica. The entree of the potato is still great, and the lamb that saved Attica... I really hope it does. Simply delicious cooking.
