Prior to the last state and federal election (2/7/16), I spent a fair bit of time campaigning in W Ryde, particularly around the railway station precinct.
The then Mayor of Ryde, Jerome Laxale drew my attention to the Element 6 Cafe. Since then I have been a big fan and the cafe became a meeting place and 'watering hole' for both the Labor and Liberal campaign teams.
The menu and coffee are great - the atmosphere is always very conducive. My favourite, among many possibilities, is the chubby bacon & sunny egg roll w onion jam, house pumpkin chutney & e6 aioli - fantastic, and with a name like that why wouldn't it be?
My next visit will include the yummy banana peanut caramel waffle and maple cream - the caramel is house made of course.
So there you go, do yourself a favour and pay Element 6 Cafe in West Ryde a visit!
Absolutely loved Element6!
Boyfriend and I went for brunch and had an amazing time.
Wait time is a little longer as their kitchen is a little small, but the wait was worth it.
The sticky chai was to die for. The food was delicious, it was so hard to pick just one. So we got 3 dishes instead.
Definitely worth the visit.
Nice friendly staff, great coffee, they used to have great butter, sadly not anymore nothing better that a great flat white and sourdough toast and cultured butter, oh well the coffee is still great!
Foods are tasty. The flavour and texture of every component is just right! Coffee is well made. Lovely environment and staff. We arrived at 10:45am on Sat. There had been a queue for coffees. Heaps of guys kept coming for coffees.
A cosy little cafe, great friendly service and fantastic breakfasts and coffee. A true suburban gem.
To go place for me and my family wife. Possibly the best place in around RYDE.
Standard order for me Zatar eggs and mocha
This is a beautiful small cafe in West Ryde which serves amazing food, courteous staff and not heavy on pocket. We ordered big brekkie, za'atar eggs with long black and hot chocolate. The food was delicious and specifically poached eggs just melted in your mouth.
E6 West Ryde used to be my local go-to, however, after a few average dishes, I wasn’t keen to return. We decided to give the place another go and see if they had improved. I was in the mood for a milkshake so I went with that, I only wish I could remember what flavour I ordered. My partner went with a skinny cap. The milkshake was really nice and creamy. I ordered mine with soy but kept the ice-cream (I can get away with limited amounts of dairy).
Very decent feed. They generally offer Australian cuisine, but the day I went they put on a seafood risotto as a special of the day. I had that and was blown away.
Prices are quite cheap for the quality you're getting too.
Love Shak : 😁 Great
Field Mushrooms : 😁 Great
Chilli Crab Scrambled Eggs : 😁 Great
Huevos Rancheros : 😍 Amazing
Coffee : 😊 Good
What a cute little cafe close to West Ryde train station. Greeted by friendly waitstaff and service remained impeccable throughout our experience. Food came out quite quickly as did the coffee. Beautiful food that was plated very nicely. Can’t wait to return and try some more!
Friendly service and good food. The coffee was okay. The mocha was extremely sweet and so was the passion mango fruit shake.
Both baked eggs were slightly different, giving it a unique taste full of flavor! So I highly recommend.
The chili crab eggs were average, but it was not chili for me at all.
Nothings to complain about, like the place so much!Coffee is good, so does the food. Ordered a chilli crab scramble eggs with toast, and a beef brisket burger, both dishes were delicious and the portions are just full filling! Will definitely come back!!
Updated review: had brunch here again, slightly disappointed; staffs still lovely, coffee still good, dish was not as good last time, but still ok.
Element 6 is, in my opinion, the best cafe in the Ryde area. Consistently great food and coffee. The bacon and egg roll is divine - well it was until they changed the relish from tomato to pumpkin! Please change it back guys!
Make sure you pop in nice and early and get the chocolate and blueberry muffin - it is UNREAL. The staff are very friendly and their level of customer service is impressive!
Nice little cafe in a quiet area of West Ryde with plenty of parking, service was great and food was on point. We ordered the Eggs Benedict and the eggs were cooked perfectly. Coffee was decent too.
Table for one. Ordered a croque madam with a cuppacino, it was already getting quite busy with all the early morning starters (cyclists, locals). Really tasty and fresh food - the salad is perfect compliment to the toast because it's quite rich. Good atmosphere and coffee was nice too. Suited for couples or solo breakfast run. Highly recommended!
Looked for some good options for breakkie in Ryde on lovely Zomato and came across this place. We went there with our friends for brunch and the place was packed. We somehow managed to get a table after waiting for 10mins. We order d for some veggie breakkie options with my favourite avocado and our friends orders for some bacon dishes. All of which was tasty and loved their vanilla milkshake too. All in all a good place for brunch over weekends with ample of parking space too.
Service - 4/5
Food - 4/5
Ambience - 3.5/5
Value for Money - 4/5
Katsu Burger was disappointing, to oily and chicken is very dry. 3/5
Had Greed Envy Shake, very refreshing. Nice mixture of celery, apple, ginger 4.5/5
Came into this little cozy cafe to have brunch at 2 pm in very hot summer.
We ordered the ‘South-west Ryder big Brekky’ and ‘smashed avocado’ along with a ‘Sultan sunrise’ orange juice for drink.
The big brekky was very tasty especially the chorizo and Boston beans. And it was actually a very big portion which was price-worthy. In contrast, the smashed avocado was nothing special. The sourdough was to hard that made my gum bleed a little bit...Also the smell of herbs was too strong but this might due to my personal taste.
The juice was just okay.
Generous portions and a well considered brekky menu - a creative but not-too-ridiculous out there twist on the classics, pretty well-executed. Their coffee is a bit too weak and flavourless though...about 3 tables out the front for the furry friends. will be back!!
Love the place!!! Their coffee was great!!! The food was amazing!!! You will great with full smile of their waitresses!! Great for family with little kids.. they have a quite of range of toys!!
I have gone to this cafe for years and I continue to return. It’s my favourite coffee of a morning before I catch the train. Also, their blueberry/lemon muffins are outstanding.
Decent eatery with a vibrant atmosphere.
Element 6 is a one of a few cafes in the west ryde area. It is quite popular and often tables are full of hungry guests.
The menu has changed since I last came and the pulled pork burger is no longer there. So you have been warned.
I ordered the chicken katsu burger. It was hot and fresh, good for a winters day.
The katsu itself was a bit overdone and seemed more like karaage than katsu in terms of degrees of friedness. I felt like I was eating a lot of batter and not much chicken.
The chicken is real chicken, not some ripoff which is prevalent in some places these days. I also believe that it is chicken thigh meat as it was not tough but quite moist.
Chips were nice and crunchy
Overall a decent eat.
Visited Element 6 for the first time early in the morning. Tucked away from the busy Victoria Rd, this cafe has great vibe to it. Service was great. Ordered the breaky board and the French toast. I had high expectations for this place and it didn't fail to deliver. Portions were generous and the food was very well prepared.
Service was OK, not the best -quite slow, however the food was yum and wide variety of food which will suit everyone taste. We got there on a day that it wasn't too busy, however I know there could be a long wait on busy weekends so just make sure you arrive early to get seats
I LOVE E6. It's my favourite local cafe! 😍 I go every morning for my coffee which is absolutely fab and any time I wish to go to breakfast, I choose E6
First review. Fantastic cafe in Sydney's west. Friendly staff. Meals accompanied by tasty coffee. French toast was not too sweet and crispy side of bacon is a fantastic addition
Nice vibe, excellent customer service. Ordered two breakfast menu meals for $31. The portions were of an appropriate size and the combination of foods they used complemented each other. I especially liked the way they toasted their bread for the sandwiches and the fried sweet potato slices and chorizo. I will definitely be coming back!

Food: Got the BLAT w/ chicken. Food was good. The salted caramel shake was absolutely amazzzzzing and I recommend to everyone! Food presentation great.
Service: Friendly, quick and upbeat. A little slow for food to arrive, however, it was pretty busy so I understand.
Atmosphere: Quite lively for such a small place. Good social vibes.
Price: A little pricier than I'd like, but seems pretty standard for the quality of food and service.
Love the cafe. It has a style to it.
Pulled pork tasted great but it was slightly too dry.
Coleslaw was awesome.
The hard-cut chips was a little too huge for me. Would have enjoyed it more if it was cut in smaller sizes.
Good food and the staff are friendly and experienced with the items on the menu. I feel sorry for the empty cafe nextdoor. Element 6 is nearly always quite lively but the shop next door is always empty.
Went there for brunch. It was super busy and place was packed.. After ordering we had to wait for 30-45 mins for our food.. But our drink was given to us soon. Hence we could quench our hunger a bit with that. We ordered a big brekky and Huevos rancheros. Both were excellent. The best was their honeycomb smoothie. We just couldn't get enough of it. Though the place was packed and all the servers were super busy, they were very courteous and friendly. Loved the place.
Great service. Great food. We were seated at the back of the cafe which was more quiet compared to the front. Food prices were reasonable for the quality, presentation, taste, and portion. We had the Español, Moroccan baked eggs, and garlic mushrooms. The Green with Envy juice was refreshing and HEALTHY. Coffee wasn't great but wasn't bad too. Will be back to try the other food on the menu.
Had an enjoyable brunch here on a wet Saturday morning. Staff were friendly, meals were creative and tasty and portions were huge. Very pleasant.
Love love all the food and coffee here ! Everything is amazingly delicious and never fails to satisfy my grumbling stomach ! Staff are friendly and make my stay feel welcomed.
Been coming to this cafe for quite a while.
Staff are always polite and friendly.
Food is consistently good and they do change up the menu with new items from time to time. Enjoy all their sweet and savory dishes.
Coffee is fantastic, iced mocha is one of my all time favorites!
Local cafe that does great salads, they used to have this amazing chicken roquette salad, but they took it off the menu :( They don’t accept phone orders which is annoying as it does get busy and you have to wait a while for takeaway. . Perfect place for decent brekkie, brunch or lunch. Service is friendly and the cafe has a great vibe. The exposed brick decor and crates make the cafe look cool. ...
Within walking distance from West Ryde rail station and the Ryde Eastwood RSL, is a gem of a cafe. It is laid out in a contemporary style at street level, stereotyped small at the front - and I like the further option of more seating tucked away behind, over looking bush and providing some kind of a private hideaway. The Element 6 is located in suburbia, but has an ambiance like in a more hipster corner of Sydney, Newcastle or Wollongong. I understand that it has been running for around four years - and is the talk amongst my mates living in that north west corner of greater Sydney.I quickly thought about Kin By US near Macquarie Centre and Big Tree House Cafe at Calder Avenue in Rydalmere. Perhaps I am comparing apples with oranges. The menu offered at each of these three brunch and breakfast places are different, each offers a separate atmosphere but all do revolve around more than just coffee - it is the inter-weaving of ideas and ingredients, it is the philosophy of the owners and the diverse inspiration behind the food. The two of us tried iconic test dishes - a Big Breakky called South-west Ryder and a pulled pork presentation, garnished with tumeric potatoes, pickled carrot and apple fennel slaw. I was impressed with both, in the careful and devoted manner in which Element 6 delivered contrasting and yet harmonious in texture, colours and utilisation of ingredients. Pulled pork can be tricky though, it takes hours to prepare but can come out a bit saturated on the palate at times. The servings of either dish eaten were generous. Some friends said it was even better when they first opened. The menu is not overly extensive but I reckon we do not need too many listings. There is a wooden adornment feel around the place but the cafe does stand out amongst its retail neighbours.
I've been to Element6 over the past few years and the food/service has been consistently good.
Recently visited for a hot breakfast to beat the cold and tried their "Huevos Rancheros" (baked eggs, spicy beef mince, beans, avocado salsa, house labne and flatbread) with a sticky chai tea with Bonjoy and honey. Serving portion seemed a lot bigger than from memory cos I had trouble finishing it! The spicy beef mince was seriously hot but so yummy 😋
I've been eyeing this cafe for a while now and we finally had the chance to drop by here yesterday for lunch. One of the nice things about the place was that it's on the quieter side of West Ryde station, and it certainly is one of the more 'trendy' cafes around that area. We opted to sit indoors since it was ridiculously windy yesterday, and the interior was really cosy.
We decided to go for the E6 Chicken burger and the El Spaniola (I might have forgotten the name, but it was poached eggs with chorizo, kale and lentils) and also a chocolate milkshake. The shake was really ice, probably one of the better ones I've had in a while. Not too sweet, and a nice consistency and a good size for $5.50.
The burger was not bad, but I would've liked a bit more balance in regards to the taste. The chicken was well cooked, but lacked flavour, with most of the flavour coming from the relish which was a little uneven. I also wasn't a huge fan of the coriander they put in the burger. I normally don't mind coriander but this particular one had an incredibly strong taste that overpowered everything else. The burger was served with turmeric potatoes instead of the usual chips, and I am a huge fan of them, they were incredibly well done and delicious.
Our second dish was pretty good, the eggs were fantastic and just the way I liked them, and the chorizo was great. However, there were just way too many lentils! the entire plate was lentils! Sure they're good for you, but I would've liked a bit less or at least give them a bit more flavour.
The staff were friendly and prompt, and the cost was pretty average for a cafe. Overall a decent cafe, but it just didn't really stick with me. Worth a visit if you're in the area though!
This cafe offers friendly service even on a busy Saturday morning. I ordered for their chorizo with lentils on a sourdough toasts. It was very filling and the flavours are well balanced. Coffee was one of the best that I have tasted in Sydney. Highly recommended dining place!
Came here for breakfast with a group of friends and the staff couldn't have been more helpful and attentive! I got the Coconut Sticky Rice Porridge with Sticky Chai Latte 😍 I could eat that porridge everyday for breakfast!! It was sweet but not too sweet and having it warm on a cold windy day was 👌🏻 was also pleased with the sticky chai so much that I had two! Will definitely be back 😊
Went back after a year or so as I was craving some of their baked eggs. Not sure if it's just me or their portion sizes have definitely shrunk. All the same apart from that, their shakshuka was hearty, well seasoned, and had some spice (could have done with some more heat but that's personal preference). Would have liked the yolks to be a bit less well done but they weren't over cooked. Friend had the vegetarian version with haloumi and he enjoyed it too. We also gave their pulled pork roll with apple cabbage slaw and a side of tumeric potatoes a try. Comes semi deconstructed funnily enough with the slaw on one side and the pork on the other. Otherwise the pork was not overly dry and stringy but may have been helped by the generous sauce. The buns were lightly toasted and the apple slaw also gave some fruity sweetness to the dish which i enjoyed but my friend not so much. I think maybe adding some slight sourness in the form of apple cider vinegar to complement the apple slaw would have further enhanced the dish. The tumeric potatoes were also well roasted and not overcooked. Again I enjoyed the tumeric flavouring but my friend not so much but you can probably tell I like my spices. Overall a good feed in the area for lunch/brunch considering the options out in the ryde area, with reasonable pricing however I still believe portion sizes used to be a fair bit larger.
Went to this place for breakfast with my cousin's. It's a Cute looking rustic place. I'm vegetarian and personally feel it's not the best in terms of vegetarian food. The corn cakes were too heavy, the baked beans were quite bland and boring. The onion jam was delicious though!
Element 6 cafe located on Ryedale Road is probably one of the trendier cafe found in the suburb of West Ryde. Even though it is located on the quieter side of the train station (not the Woolies/Coles side), it seems to draw a regular crowd as evident in people queuing up for seats or takeaway coffee whenever we’d past the cafe. I’d been a couple of times, once during a weekday morning and another a weekend afternoon and it was buzzing with activity both times. A stark contrast to the neighboring businesses.
As a local living around the Marsfield area, West Ryde is one of my local go to places for a quick outside eat. Suggested to give it a try after seeing the mostly positive reviews on zomato, and was not disappointed. Everything went well that day. Found parking right outside cafe, got the last free table despite the small space, and got my orders efficiently from the friendly staff. I loved the speed of everything being delivered, although the serving of food could have been a bit faster for me (maybe my expectations got too high).
Nonetheless, ordered the west-ryder big brekky and for $18 it was certainly worth it, making me so full I didn't need lunch after this breakfast. My mum ordered the E6 chicken burger for $16 and found it average. Noticed the daily specials, and I think I'll be back at Element 6 again soon! :)
Pancake is so good. Creamy but not greasy~ Cafe is very busy on Sat morning. Waiters there are well trained and make the shop organised. Enjoy!!
Came here for brunch on weekends. It was very busying but didn't wait for a long.
The cafe is very cozy, homely and staff are very friendly.
I had big breakfast.
That was quite large potion, I couldn't finish all!!
sourdough, eggs, bacon, cheese, totoes, salad etc
I recomend to share!! :)
Food was delicious, coffee is nice!
I like it.
One of the great spot to have brunch on weekends!
Surroundings are a bit "rustic" but best chicken burger ever! Honeybee smoothie is not bad either. Highly recommended and definitely good value.
Favourite local spot! I've been here so many times, delicious food, great coffee, friendly staff and cute interiors.. They're also dog friendly which is a big plus. I got the salad with chicken and it was massive, colourful, filling and delicious!! Highly recommended!!
What a nice surprise! Being a city girl, i didn't have high expectation for this place. We went by car but it's easily accessible by public transport too (right next to the station).
We went there at 8am on Saturday morning so it wasn't that busy then. We both had green juice to start the day (kale, celery, spinach, mint, cucumber, silverbeet, apple, agave).
I had Moroccan Baked Eggs with chickpeas, haloumi, eggplant and spicy zhoug, and it came with flat bread. It was delicious. It's a little bit spicy but the eggs and the bread balanced everything out. I would order this again when I'm here next.
My boyfriend had Olive Oil Fried Eggs with beetroot, black forest bacon, tomatoes, fresh herbs and dukkah. It was really yummy as well. The fresh herbs added extra level to the dish.
Overall, the food was great and the service was good too. Could put more effort into the decorations to make the place look a little bit nicer.
Element 6 is one of the better cafes around this area. I always come here to get a quick coffee fix especially on the weekends or whenever I need some alone time. I always get the big breakkie and the corn cakes are delicious though sometimes when the kitchen gets busy, the standard drops.
Discovered this place today and it was a delight. Long wait times but it was worth it. Had a veggie big breakfast which was delicious and the coffee was pretty good.
It’s safe to say I’ve tried about 80% of the menu and have been back countless times. Really good value for money as the servings are huge, and you will always be greeted with a smile.
Can’t remember if their muffins change from time to time, but the house made white choc blueberry(?) muffin was delish and great to grab on the go. So so satisfying as well. Another one I got on the go was their bacon and egg “roll” which looks more like a burger. Bacon and egg rolls are something I hardly ever get, but the one from Element 6 is ON POINT and worth a try. It’s their own pumpkin chutney and aioli which changes things and seriously for less than $10, worth every cent.
The fried eggs, beetroot, dukkah dish is not one of my top picks but again seriously satisfying. I am not a small eater but this dish left me so full and content that I would recommend it also. This and the baked eggs are the best to get if you’re hungry. I think I may even have struggled to finish the baked eggs and given up.
The mushrooms are also pleasant but I don’t think they are as memorable as the others.
The pulled-pork burger is HUGE but slightly bland. However the turmeric potatoes are extra tasty and together make an incredibly satisfying lunch.
If I don’t feel like trying anything new, I’ll always go back to the veggie big brekky. Not because it’s the most filling or best value, but it has everything I like and is a classic vegetarian big breakfast done well. I certainly don’t feel stuffed after this but the corn cake and onion jam is so good. Same deal with the south-west ryder big brekky if you need meat in your meal.
Coffee is pretty strong here which is great, and an iced long black would always do the trick for me. Stateside iced coffee is essentially an iced latte with a double shot if you want to be extra buzzing.
In terms of drinks, I am in love with the green with envy smoothie. However it is a slight let down that it ranges from good to amazing depending on who makes it/how much of each ingredient is used. I suppose it can’t be helped when it comes to smoothies as it cannot always be exact, but for this one the taste does change quite a bit. I decided to stray just once and gave the sultans sunrise a go which is just OJ with pomegranate but it was really tasty and refreshing, so another option if you want something fresh and sweet.
I’d probably give a 4 for just the food, as it’s tasty and nothing is a drastic let down but overall it is a 4.5 for the incredible service and great value. There is never a staff lacking and they are always so sweet and friendly.
Located in a quiet place. Very busy caffe. Satisfying food and service. Coffee is a must-try. Their Cappucino tastes really good. It's def a good place to come for brunch with your friends and families. Ordered four different brunch meals and they were all good. French toast is exceptionally good.
There aint enough of these cafes in west ryde, so its easy to say, wait times are long...
However, this place does a AMAZING decaf for those days where you just want to be caffeine free.
The food is cafe style but serving size is huge. And very hearty. Presentation is not necessary as the quality and taste really over ride anything else. Unlike some cafes i have been to who skimp, i wont name names, these guys slather.
Love it.
Remember my first visit to this cafe a couple of years ago, it was the middle of winter, a busy Sunday with lots of people waiting, and we waited outside in the cold for about 30 mins to be seated, but the food was definitely worth it. Since then I've been coming back every so often, the place is always busy, and the food standard have been very consistent. I love their sweet breakfast options, particularly waffles on their specials, but the specials often sell out! Their savoury dishes are done well too. Great place for weekend brunch!
This place is a personal favourite. It has really cool rustic look, the staff and service has been consistently good. Their food is delicious. Organic vibe and leaves quite a healthy feeling afterwards. Their coffee is parallel to their food!
Love this place, the menu suits my every mood! Coffee is great and the service is always attentive. Each breakfast I've had has been perfectly cooked and delicious!
I had the South West Ryder Big Brekky, and it was a very big brekky indeed. The generous on the bacon, lovely bread, really nice onion jam and tasty corn fritters, plus two almost perfectly poached eggs all piled on to a plate. All of it was very good! The music on the inside was a little on the loud side. Good service though.
Came in for a late lunch, was seated immediately with great service all round. Food came out quick and portion size was generous!
Also wanted to point out that the poached eggs were probably the most technically perfect I've ever seen in all my years! Will def go again
The food and coffee at Element 6 is very good 90% of the time. It's the only place I know in this area that serves up food and coffee at a level of competency in design and execution comparable to the cafes of Newtown and Surry Hills.
The chubby bacon and sunny egg roll (9.5) is delicious as is their B.L.A.T sandwich (13.50). If you're hungry I recommend the south-west ryder big brekky (17.00) and the Moroccan baked eggs (17.00). If you're really hungry I highly recommend the E6 chicken burger with a side of turmeric potatoes (16.00). It's my favourite when I've got serious hunger pangs. And when a dish has the cafe brand name in it's title how can you go wrong? :-) If you're on some kind of green hippy hipster diet? Order a green power juice and smashed avo on toast with poached egg for the protein hit (15.0).
Service is a little hit and miss. Sometimes it's great, staff are on the ball. Sometimes...they just forget your order and leave you waiting until you ask for your food and they tell you "sorry, we forgot." People are lovely and they mean well but Element 6 really need improvement in this area.
Overall, Element 6 is a good place to drop into for a Saturday or Sunday morning brunch.
Super busy for Valentine's Day but the wait wasn't too bad. Given there's not much else going on in west ryde it's the local place to be. Service was fast and efficient and food was great, although no alterations were allowed to the menu.. Not sure if this was a Valentine's Day only thing or not.
Cute hipster cafe in an unexpected location. Reasonable prices for a good range of well thought out, yummy breakfasts and lunches. I had the veggie big breakfast which came with the usual suspects plus a really excellent corn cake, garlic field mushrooms, zingy onion relish and Boston beans ($17); also a delicious green smoothie ($7.50). Bench seating is nice or else try out the back for a quieter meal.

I came for lunch a few months ago and it was a pretty good experience. I remember ordering the asian-style chicken burger which came with turmeric potatoes and some nice coffee. The burger was quite delicious which taste almost like a banh mi, but I wasn't really a fun of the potatoes because the turmeric taste was so strong haha. I prefer some good old fries instead! Coffee was surprisingly good and the barista made some cute art for me which is splendid.
I will definitely come here again in the future to taste some different products.
After the Summer Starter run, it was time to look for sustenance and I found it at funky Element 6. It was mid-morning by the time I arrived and as a lone diner, I got a seat at the front bench, where I people-watched passerby's on the street.
There are a lot of tempting items on the menu, which made it difficult to decide what to order. Seeing as it was still morning, I opted for a brunch dish and the dukkah dish seemed unusual enough whilst still having delicious components like egg and bacon. What you can't see there, and which isn't listed on the menu, is that the elements were packed on top of a thick tortilla, to provide some carbs.
Whilst each element was tasty on its own (barring the cherry tomatoes because I don't like tomatoes and cherry tomatoes are particularly tomato-y), together they became a bit too much. In fact, the dish was almost like a salad and considering my feelings towards salads, it will come as no surprise that I got a bit sick of the dish before I managed to finish it. If it came with less tomatoes and herbs then I probably would have enjoyed it more.
On the other hand, the Sultan's Sunrise was a perfect morning juice. OJ is a little boring by itself but the splash of pomegranate gave it a very nice tropical taste.
Overall, I would happily trek back to Element 6 to try some of its other dishes and check out the back courtyard.
Great cafe in the local neighbourhood, staff were very friendly and the place had a good vibe. I was craving a burger so got the chicken burger with the tumeric potatos with was pretty good. Will definitely come back to try other items on the menu, especially the breakfast items
Really like the decor, vibe and friendliness of the staff here. We came for a weekend lunch and even though they were busy, service was still very prompt.
I loved the simplicity of my E6 fav rosemary garlic mushroom dish. everything was done well. it may not be the prettiest of picture, but it sure tasted nice.
could not fault the south-west ryder big breakkie. really liked the corn cake, interesting, mildly sweet and not dry/doughy.
Next time i come i want to try their green salad? it was a special on their blackboard and sold out when i arrived.
Definitely coming back here to try more!
Good food except it's incredibly annoying that you can't change the menu at all- I understand this to an extent but asking for someone to not put a sauce on something isn't asking for much! One major flaw of an otherwise great restaurant
It's always Nice to Stop by in a local Cafe before going to work every weekday morning. Today, I got a Hot chocolate and Big Breakfast. After finishing my Breakfast I order takeaway, waited for around 4 minutes then walked to the station in 5 minutes. #Easy Quick Meal.
Wow wow and wow. Loved it!
So who knew that for years on my way to work I was driving past such an amazing gem.
Stopped in for breakfast today and I'm so glad I did.
I ordered an iced coffee with a dash of skim (I might say it was more than a dash disappointingly) and I got the olive oil fried eggs with bacon, beetroot hommus, herbs and dukkah on flat bread. AMAZING! The oil was the stand out on the dish - the delicate herb taste against the eggs and dukkah so good... I don't think I've ever had a breakfast taste so fresh and delicious.
I can't say enough about this place. Oh and breakfast menu all day! Winning :)
The food here is great. Menu is small but done perfectly. The coffee is double roasters and customer service is quick and fast. I highly recommend the coconut sticky rice pudding with the caramelised bananas.
Tried it this morning. Had their big breakfast and 2 coffees. Best thing was that the breakfast items weren't too sweet - the Boston beans, the corn cake, the onion jam - sometimes those things are way too sweet, but these were just right. Service was friendly and they sure were working hard this morning. I'd be happy to recommend to friends and happy to come back.
I do get annoyed (although understand) when i see absolutely no modifications to the menu. That said, the staff were extremely helpful to accomadate within their limits, and the food, coffee, service and price were execellent! The smashed avocado had elements that vary from the standard I've seen so often before.
With an extensive menu that includes organic produce and gluten free options, and a cosy creative space to enjoy time to yourself, a casual meeting, or a friendly ‘catch-up’, Element 6 provides an inviting place for you to be in your element.
The all day menu includes toasts – with a world of bread varieties, and they offer a range of Hank’s jam to pop on top; house made granola, yoghurt and seasonal fruit; bacon and eggs various ways; French toast with mascarpone, seasonal poached fruit and pistachio praline; sandwiches; salads; and the renowned South-West Ryder of crispy bacon, 2 poached eggs, roasted tomato, boston beans, onion jam and corn cake.
While the coffee is good enough to enjoy on its own, I highly recommend pairing it with one of the gluten free treats that will tempt you from the dessert window.
The biggest warning about this place is that it’s hugely popular with the locals, which means seating can be limited. I was unable to get a table when turning up 11am on a weekday, but was still able to
enjoy my meal along the front window bar seating. Takeaway is still a pleasant option with a large park less than a block away, and on warmer days, there is plenty of outside dining space to enjoy as well.
A good suburban cafe. Need more of these in Sydney's North! We ordered from the breakfast menu and the prices were fair. Service was good, very busy on a Sunday morning but plenty of seats out the front and on the back verandah to accommodate.
Element 6 is a small neighborhood cafe serving up delicious brunch fare and good coffee. The little cafe is extremely busy on weekends and generally has a decent amount of people lining up to get inside. When I saw shakshouka available on the menu I just had to order it simply because it struck me how long it’d been since I’d had baked eggs.
Great place to eat. Might be a 10 minute wait on the weekends. Knowledgeable and friendly staff. Food is fantastic, the salted caramel waffles are amazing! Reccomending to all my friends.
I’m not a morning person. Not by a long shot. But when you get woken up by, “hey let’s go see the sunrise together“, it’s a little hard to say no. Well that, and the promise of breakfast. And that’s what happened the morning that I found myself climbing steep hills in complete darkness. Not my finest hour, with sweat pants, a hoodie, and layers of clothing underneath. But sunrises are meant to be worth it, and here we were.
15 hour pulled pork burger. The pork was cooked to perfection and the vibe in the cafe was relaxed and perfect for a Saturday brunch. Service was great and made great new friends. Lover Tip: order a light fresh side to go with it as the burger itself is very heavy in flavour
In the three years since its opening, Element6 has cemented itself as the northern Sydney suburbs’ answer to the rustic-quirky aesthetic of inner-city cafes, and is a definitive local favourite, if the diversity of its customers is anything to go by.

Pretty trendy cafe near the train tracks.
Not many good cafe's in the area so when you find one its like finding gold!
Coffee, food and fresh juices are superb.
Highlights include the baked eggs, big breaky and smoked salmon.
Can get busy so try to come in early. Street parking available
Nice cafe which was much needed in the area! Service is always friendly and accomodating. Today I had the Belgian Hot Chocolate (lovely and rich) and the Coconut Sticky Rice Porridge with Caramelised Banana (delicious and filling 😊 )
Good place for brunch in Ryde area, the big breakfast was yummy, good portion with good selection of vegetarian menu and good coffee. The cafe looks small when you enter but they have extra area at the back that can accommodate quite a large group if you are thinking of having girls brunch out.
Vegetarians welcome! Always a treat. A lazy Saturday or Sunday brunch always runs over time at this place.
A good seat out the back in the hotter months makes for a great experience,
Recommend the veggie big breaky! Or the hot pot of chickpeas and eggplant w/eggs

Local cafe that does great salads, they used to have this amazing chicken roquette salad, but they took it off the menu :( They don’t accept phone orders which is annoying as it does get busy and you have to wait a while for takeaway.
Perfect place for decent brekkie, brunch or lunch. Service is friendly and the cafe has a great vibe. The exposed brick decor and crates make the cafe look cool.
Smoked Salmon salad with quinoa and mint
Ordered the cauliflower soup that absolutely satisfied my soup craving. We need more cafes having soups on their menus!
great coffee and so grateful for the actually delicious gluten and dairy free sweets they stock! Such a cute little hole in the wall set up that is actually functional! They staff are so lovely! Definitely a good spot to stop by for a quick bite and caffeine hit!
Nice place for coffee and brekkie.. Big breakfast bit expensive than other places!
May 2021 update: reasonable prices, good balance of flavours and diverse menu to suit all (standard breakfast items, tacos, burgers, pancakes, French toast). Pretty generous servings. Friendly staff. Good smooth coffee. Had the corn fritters and fish tacos w/ sweet potato fries. Taste is pretty good. However the let down is the whole place feels like it hasn’t been maintained well and really needs a deep clean scrub down. Walkway to the back dining room is especially filthy, full of stains and our cutlery still had alfalfa sprouts from the previous diners.....

March 2018: Generous portions and a well considered brekky menu - a creative but not-too-ridiculous out there twist on the classics, pretty well-executed. Their coffee is a bit too weak and flavourless though...about 3 tables out the front for the furry friends. will be back!!
One of the best cafe in the area, nice food with some healthy options. Very friendly staffs and beautiful coffee.
The veggie plate is big enough for two if you ain’t too hungry, salmon on toast was nice and fresh. The chicken burger was a little salty for my liking but French fries were crispy and yummy.
