Such a gorgeous place to visit. Wonderful ambience, friendly and efficient staff with a great cuppa to go with it. Only negative was the salad being overdressed..bit on the vinegary side..but best fish and chips I have had since being in Australia. Will definitely be going back again...5 star!!

Had the quiche, hot mocha and desserts and they were al incredibly yummy. Especially loved the quiche and the waffles! The scones were just as great and goes so well with the cream!
The service was very very friendly and the restaurant gave off a very romantic and calming ambience.
Would return for the the quiche and waffles again if I ever get the chance!

Amazing customer service from Cherie, Nikki, Steph and Jen on 18th June 2020. I took my friend Vishnu to give him a memorable birthday experience and he loved it. The staff make you feel at home and the food is delicious :) Keep up the good work. Thank you for a great experience for 5 visits all up the past couple of years.

This was my third attempt at getting to try this venue out and it was worth the wait! My son absolutely loved his raspberry spider and chicken nuggets. The chips were cooked really well - very crispy. My friend has the open sandwich which she said was amazing and I had the beef cottage pie as my wheat free choice. The service and staff were both amazing and the food was lovely. Sadly, we didn’t have room for any desserts so next time we visit it will be for dessert only (and an almond milk hot chocolate of course)!

Miss Marple’s
😎 #Introduction
Miss Marples Tea Room is a Sassafras institution - and has been for many years. Set in a purpose built Tudor style building this restaurant plays homage to the memory of Agatha Christie's novel character Miss Marple. The original owners were Agatha Christie fanatics, and the current owner (who previously worked there) has carried the tradition for the past 15 years (It was around 15 years ago that I last paid a visit here). This is the “must visit” shop for tourists, and anyone who loves/wants to experience the English tea rooms.
👍 #TheyDoThisWell
The generous menu hasn’t really changed over the years. They’ve perfected the dishes over the years, so the food is made consistently and perfectly every time.
The scones with jam and cream are the staple of this restaurant - warning : the scones are square due to the way they’ve been prepared in the tin. I’m used to the individual round scones, but I’m not a scone expert - what I do know is that they’re delicious, fluffy, and come with just the right amount of cream and jam.
The wait: Miss Marples does this very well, considering how many people line up to visit every day. Go inside, put your name down, and they’ll tell you how long it will take (for us it was 30 mins, but it can be longer). You can then walk around the shops and come back closer to the time (they’re pretty accurate). You can wait until snide (a bit cramped), or outside on the benches and they’ll call your name.
The customer experience: they do this very well. The venue is very small and potentially cramped, but surprisingly it has been designed and run so well that there seems to be enough space between all tables, and we felt comfortable- especially considering this place is always completely full (I’m not joking here). The staff are very, very patient in the midst of potential chaos from the sheer number of patrons. This translates into a very calm dining experience. The staff are very attentive to patrons from the very beginning, and make sure the customers are taken care of as quickly and efficiently as possible - at the same time, making us feel welcome and not rushed.
They charge a 20% surcharge on public holidays but no merchants fee (I support staff wages but not the banks so I’m okay with this).

🤔 #OpportunityForImprovement
Not much here. If anything, I’d say it would be great to add an extension (might be out of their control), and perhaps make it clearer to put your name down before entering the venue (some people were caught out when they entered, expecting a table immediately).
😎 #Conclusion
Nice relaxed atmosphere, great food, and great service.

Came here to try their scones after hearing so much about it. It was definitely very different from what I thought it would look like, but it was a pleasant surprise. I love how fluffy the scones were and it went amazingly well with the fresh cream and raspberry jam! I added a mug of hit chocolate, and it just paired together so well with the scones! Would definitely love to come here again!

Tried the very famous scones from here and I actually really enjoyed them. i liked them because the combo of the rasberry jam and fresh cream was delicious. The potato chicken pie was quite nice but nothing particularly amazing. I also liked how there was no surcharge for soy milk. Good place to visit after the 1000 steps

Delicious and heartwarming meal. Was perfect as it was a rainy day - and I’ve heard before that it’s a must have when in the area.

Beware of long wait times - but worth it in the end

Visiting this traditional English tearoom is a must when you’re in Melbourne! ✨
The place is very cute, the staffs are super welcoming, and we love their FRUIT & PLAIN SCONES, TEAPOT OF TAYLOR’s, BELGIAN WAFFLES, and VICAR’S FOLLY👵🏻🍨🍵💐 (although we found the waffles are too slightly too sweet and dry)
They do not accept reservations, so be prepared to be put on a waiting list once you got there☺️

I love this place, especially the scones and jam. I have to come here every few months. The ambiance is unique. This time I bought the jam, there are a bit expensive, but I think the reason for that is the stawberries they put in double or triple the cheap ones in the supermarket.

A popular tea house located in a small town within the vicinity of the Dandenong Ranges serving a variety of hot foods including sandwiches, soup and pies etc. and an extensive list of desserts. The place gets extremely busy right when the place opens. Thankfully was in line before opening and was able to secure a seat. Decided to go for the sweets for this visit and ordered the Miss Marple's "Sundae Best", their famous scones and a cappuccino. The scones were different to the usual scones, it doesn't have much of a crust, less crumbly and more like pound cake but less dense. Mildly sweet and buttery, it paired well with the raspberry jam and fresh cream. Wouldn't say it's better than a conventional scone but it was tasty. The sundae was massive with layers of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, berry sauce, chocolate fudge and some strawberries; definitely designed for sharing. It was delicious, surprisingly not too sweet, and the whipped cream was thick; not your regular light and fluffy whipped cream. Would have preferred some more strawberries to balance out the amount of ice cream/whipped cream. Cappuccino was served above drinking temperature but it was fine as I was not in a rush. Overall a nice place to try. Staffs were friendly. Suggest arriving before the opening time to get the first seating.

First time here for lunch after driving by so many times. Really friendly service and quick turnaround of meals. They don't take bookings, so it does feel like they try to churn through customers as quickly as possible. Still, the food is great and plentiful. I felt the beef cottage pie could've done with a bit more salt and pepper. The pumpkin soup was great. Our son whoofed it down. My pastie was nice. Scones are a bit curious - square (see photos). Delicious jam, and the other desserts are lovely and divine. Definitely go. Finger sandwiches look great, too.

We arrived the place at 11:03 am and the queue was already 10 meters long, fortunately there were plenty of seats in the room, we didn’t have to wait for a long time. The decorations were delicate and warm, you can relax even without the famous scone. Don’t skip the scones, it’s very nice.

Highly recommend. Best to get there at early on weekends as it is walk in service. We have been coming for years and the service is always fast and food is fresh. Our family favourites are the beef cottage pie, open sandwich, chicken fingers, fish and chips. Belgian waffles are a great sweet option. Honestly anything you order will not disappoint. The scones are must eat as well!! They also do christmas in July with Christmas themed food options.
