I've recently come back from a holiday in japan and the food at this incredible little gem is just as tasteful as the food in japan. There is nothing worse then going to a Japanese restaurant and the food not tasting like real Japanese food. & Thankfully this place is not like most that I've visited, I am just obsessed! I have to recommend their potato salad, it is to die for! You two are so lovely, I wish you both the best! :)
Simple, amazing delicious food. Had the beef and it was to die for as the pricing was reasonable and a very simple menu of 3 dishes to choose from - chicken, beef or pork. I will definitely be back for more......
Full of fresh flavour. Sweet owners. I had the vegan option. Only thing was too much rice. I would of preferred alot more of the kraut and mudhroom. But I'm not a big rice person. The miso sauce is ultimate
Nothing but Oishii!! Chef Hajime Horiguchi and wife Sumiko have indeed brought a flair of Japan to Hervey Bay. The grilled king prawns and cuttlefish were succulent, sweet, tender and fresh. Kingaroy pork spare ribs were fell off the bone delicious. Loved the pickled shiitake mushroom, cabbage, nori paste and garlic mayonnaise. 100% recommend 💕
Great authentic Japanese flavours with a lot of care and detail by the Japanese owners. Portions are smaller for the price and takes a while for the food to come out. Wagyu is not as tender as expected for the price, other dishes are yum though.
hervey bay definitely has a market and needs more modern places to eat like this. great japanese food where you can see the food being made. they’ve got a vegan/vegetarian option on a separate menu and staff are nice too. just a shame that even when you dine in they serve the food in disposable bowls with plastic lids which isn’t great if you’re trying to be more eco conscious. even with “bio plastik” packaging it’s still unnecessary waste and plastic nonetheless. I hope they change this soon.
Great little Japanese joint by the bay! Had the teriyaki chicken and it was deliciously smokey :) :) :) very friendly staff. It's cash only so bring the dollar bills yo.
Exceptional food. Rarely is there a worthy 5 star restaurant, this is one of them.
Absolutely amazing place, very authentic Japanese flavours! Love the secret vegan/vegetarian menu he has for the people in the know, food is just amazing, and amazing owners too! Need to go more often, lots of love for the only Japanese style food in the bay.
Love the food here, everything freshly cooked over the charcoal grill. Simple, subtle and full of Japanese flavour. The Wagyu beef is tender and delicious and pork spare ribs are succulent The chicken rice bowl is our lunchtime favourite that even the little kids love. Very Japanese, very well executed.
