Firstly great location and view. Decor is nice and warm. Service was lovely and very helpful, we normally have to prompt for a high chair but were beaten to it which was really nice. Food was great, kids devoured the calamari which is rare for them, flathead fish was excellent and the chicken parma was juicy and had a lovely relish topping rather than just your standard paste. In all really good venue. The only downside, and this is being a touch picky is that the soft drink was a premix or at least tasted like this, was a slight blip on what was otherwise a very nice meal!
Enjoyed a lovely breakfast Saturday x 3 of us. It was a full house upon arriving, we had to wait for a table. Which really wasn't a bother as had time to soak up the wonderful views of the beach. Owner (i would say) was very helpful & friendly which were most staff members. Food was lovely, i enjoyed Eggs Benedict with Salmon whilst my daughter had waffles with fresh berries & my sister enjoyed a sweet treat. Definately would return. 😁
Midday lunch with a friend and our babies. We each had a bowl of wedges with sour cream and sweet chilli sauce, paired with coffee, followed by cake - lemon curd cake for me and a cheesecake for my friend. The wedges were good - a generous helping, though nothing special (read standard packet ingredients), coffee good, and cake delicious though overly sweet for my taste and the portion so large we took a substantial portion home.
The service was great - despite our cumbersome prams taking up a lot of room in the small cafe - the staff were helpful and welcoming. The prices reasonable and the ambiance lovely. Beautiful views of Seaford beach throughout. When the weather is good I imagine the beach side outdoor seating would be gorgeous.

A perfect place for breakfast or lunch by the pier. Service could have been better, but the food was delicious. The chicken in the Tuscan Chicken Burger was very tender. The Steak Sanga was a bit overcooked. The Falafel Burger was good.
A very welcoming and great place to be, came in not expecting much, the service was on top and the food was plenty and sent my tastebuds to another level. Always love a smashed avo with dukkah in it.
The scenery in front of the beach also makes it a recommended spot for those summer time catch ups!
Wow , I tried this cafe for the first time yesterday and I was happily shocked! The service was fantastic, very welcoming, fast and friendly. The food was delicious, honestly the best calamari I have eaten and that says a lot coming from me! The coffee was great too, really smooth and well made. Will definitely return here again, I think my family have found a new spot!
Friendly prompt service with water placed on the table at arrival. Very good selection of cafe food catering for Vegan and Gluten free with all the usual bacon and eggs breakfast meals (I was obviously here for breakfast).
The cafe is clean with cutlery, glasses and tables well looked after and of course a brilliant view of our Melbourne bay.
They use Genovese coffee which is aromatic and velvet to drink and in my opinion the best coffee available.
Honestly, in a few visits now I cant fault this establishment. Great job.
Smashed avocado with dukah etc etc
What more can one ask than a petite cafe with a sea view and one of the most friendliest of staff and lips smacking delicious food!
Beach Cafe ticks all the boxes and how!!
This was the first time I visited Seaford to see a friend and we settled for lunch at that lovely cafe...
veg sliders, pumpkin and sage ravioli with Parmesan shavings, lamb salad, for lunch, chai to drink along and a mars bar cake to finish the dessert (see the pic)
All the portions were hearty, tasty, fresh and definitely seemed made with love (I haven’t said this much in any reviews).
The cafe is a wood cabin with glass walls that gives a good 180 degree view of the sea! It’s clean and tidy to desirable standards.
Highly recommend and will surely aim to visit again, even if that means hitching an hour long ride just to lunch at Beach side cafe
Lovely cafe. Good escape point + Good location, just on the beach. Generous portions + Good coffee. Friendly staff. We had Tuscan Chicken BLT and Calamari. Calamari was delicious chips were very tasty.
After being here twice all I can say is that I love this cafe! The lamb salad and lemon pepper calamari were both delicious! Beautiful views as well, great spot!
Nice cafe. Staff was nice and friendly. We love the ambience and the atmosphere. Perfect spot to chill as you get to stare at the beach for hours. Beautiful location. Food is yummy too. I ordered Belgium Waffles and it was delicious.
Went here on the weekend, as we are trying to find new local spots to venture to rather then trekking into Elwood/Hawthorn/Sth Yarra etc! Lovely location overlooking the water and Seaford Pier. Small venue but nice simple decor inside. We were seated promptly and the service we received was friendly and efficient. Being after 12pm we had to order off the lunch menu, but there was a good selection to choose from. My partner had the agnolotti which he said was 'to die for' and I had the pumpkin/beetroot salad with chicken which was also nice. Coffee not too bad (a little bitter for my tastes). Note that the menu on their website is different to the menu we had yesterday, so it might be a little out of date online. My only wish was that their breakfast menu was 'all day' rather than limited from 8am-12pm to allow a little more freedom and variety, but with such a small venue and kitchen I can understand why they probably don't! We will be back.
What a location! I was looking for a cafe with water views and found this one. Set right on the edge of the foreshore, it provides glorious views of the bay. Lovely shaded outdoor seating, as well as indoor seating. Cake selection was mouthwatering and coffees great too!
Good coffee, good cakes, good service and a good view - what more could you want!!
We went there for breakfast this morning. I had the healthy pudding - it was the nicest breakfast that I have had in many months. Lovely view, excellent and prompt service. My husbands food was equally delicious- we would definitely go back.
Really nice view and positioned just on the seaford beach. Easy to park. Good value of food. The service is fairly good and attentive. Recommend to ppl who lives nearby and for a great leisure time especially on a sunny day, with a short walk on the beach after meal.
It was a quite busy day today. Service was really good. Will be back again. There location is in a great spot, viewing over ocean and pier.
Great location to eat in front of the beach and check out the view of the pier! Had wedges and orange cake (total was $24)! Was so full afterwards, it was more than enough for two people!
Great trendy atmosphere. Good selection of desserts. Nice staff. Excellent view of beach. Had breakfast here, the brushetta wasn't exactly what I expected, but still enjoyable.
Cant say I've ever been to such a nice little beachside cafe. Their food is perfect with great options. My only reason for not giving 5 stars would be based on price. Just a little pricey but then again its a great location
Really great views, yummy meals and amazing cakes and coffee. Have eaten here several times and never been disappointed. Did I mention yummy cakes !!!!
Really good food, service and price. Great views and good vibe. Great coffee and lots of the menu is home made. I usually find these guys open when everywhere else is closed
Good food good view great people!:) definitely worthy to come again !
Coffee is good , I had prawn linguini, the prawn are fresh and cake is good too.
Great view and great staff. Read about previous reviews which were average, but I believe new management has changed the place and has done well. Great coffee as well. I have tried so many famous coffee place and this one is really good in creme, aroma and taste. Ordered lamb salad and orange cake, which were fantastic. Only downside is the price being a bit expensive. But I guess a waterfront cafe runs on high overheads...
Absolutely the best place to go for an incredible view of the bay & a delicious meal! My husband had one of the specials of the day - a spinach, roast sweet potato salad with red onion, cherry tomatoes, avocado relish & Cajun chicken breast - he said it was incredible (the presentation was also lovely). I tried the chili king prawns with linguine- tossed in olive oil, garlic, chill & herbs! Wow!! So delicious! The staff were lovely, helpful & cheerful & the manager is a sweetheart. Only thing is I feel bad sharing this place, as it may get too busy & we won't be able to get a table!
I happened to be driving past Seaford on a not-so-pleasant afternoon on my way home from Bayside Shopping centre. I decided to pop into the Cafe in need of a nice coffee, and chat with my Mum. The venue is beautiful, perfectly situated on the foreshore, with beautiful views and a warm, ambient atmosphere. For a cold Melbourne afternoon, the temperature in the cafe was perfect. Although the cafe is a little small, it allowed us to see everything that was going on, it appeared to be run by a family, and they welcomed us to the extent that we almost felt apart of their family too. The coffee, it was OK, not as good as i would have hoped, but definitely nothing to complain about. My mum wished she had a little more chocolate on her cappuccino though, as it had a tiny sprinkling. We didn't stay for lunch, but will definitely consider it for next time.
Great Breakfast on a lazy Saturday morning. We had Spanish baked eggs & waffles with strawberry mascarpone - both were delicious and filling without being too heavy. Views are beautiful too
Went here not long ago and service took a while to get around to us - looked busy with only one girl on the floor. When our food finally came out everything was delicious. If you are searching for the best hot chips around definitely give these a shot!
Cheap big breakfast. A large breakfast with all the extras plus a nice coffee for less than 20 bucks. Good cafe.
New owners have done a ripper with this place. Consistent food , coffee
Delicious- stipulate if you really do want full cream not a blend. Milkshakes delicious , and finally the side kiosk has opened. Love it and the view .
Great food, great service & what a view! Love it here, one of my favourite spots.
Inattentive unfriendly wait staff. $18 for a salad with no meat and so much vinegar I couldn't finish it. Average coffee beautiful view
-----01 Feb, 2015-----
Turned up close to closing time (we thought they shut later) they still happily served us a quick cake and coffee. Good service but average food.
A bit different for this part of Melbourne as it is right on the beach. Fabulous on a beautiful day, not sure what it would be like on a bad day!
Food has been very nice. The service has been a bit lazy and blazay on several occasions but we like the view!
Great food and service. The Barista makes excellent coffee as well. Definitely must visit this place!!! I give this cafe 5 stars!
New Management ! What relie.... New Management !
What relief. The weekend barista coffee is perfect. The new menu, what an improvement . The changes are much more welcoming. Good job.
Love the consistent coffee and my son loves the milkshakes . Perhaps the staff could smile abit more and look more confident with what they are doing. Bluff it is all a good option.
The food is beautiful . So fresh .
I'm going to keep coming back.
Great view. Nice place....with beautiful view.
Not pricey but the coffee is good. 3 out of the 4 girls mail it.
What a find! We dropped in for a late lunch and enjoyed the egg & bacon tart and prawn and avocado salad. A little on the pricey side and limited menu but delicious food, friendly service and gorgeous views. A great treat, give it a try! No bookings.
Best coffee in this area and the best view of the bay. Very friendly and great food
Healthy, unusual, friendly. Some reviewers decried the inflexibility and child-hostile menu. I can see why they did. But, I disagree and think it is mainly an issue of expectations.
Expect a simple venue by the sea with great coffee, a very friendly staff and unexpected pleasures on the menu. I had the Flat Mushrooms with Feta and Spinach on Organic Seed Bread. It was delightful, healthy, with an earthy combination of flavours that complimented each other perfectly. The entire menu emphasises organic items, stout, hearty breads, fresh ingredients and interesting preparations.
If you are looking for the classic aussie brekki, this is NOT the place. It's true they say (politely) "no substitutions", but for a small venue with a limited menu I give them far greater credit for daring to be different than attempting one-size-fits-all breakfasts, which honestly you can find at dozens of places.
The view is spectacular, and the cafe is hidden far away from the road beyond the trees of the reserve.
My only wish was for freshly squeezed juice.
The location is 5/5, as well as the staff who were very attentive. Food is well priced especially brunch, and good standards and portions. The coffee was not the best I’ve had though, a little odd/weak on flavour. But if you can get a seat in the terrace outdoors, this is a great way to spend your morning/arvo!
Went for lunch with my husband, the views are great and the food was excellent. The calamari was crispy and melted in your mouth and the Tuscan burger was delicious. Considering they were short staff yet they still served our coffee and food within 15 minutes, we were pretty impressed!
Always a good spot to stop off & admire the view, cosy today ,with the crazy weather, good surf🌊🌊good coffee ☕️,food 🥗& service ✅️🍰🧁🥧
Love the view from the terrace table - turquoise water colour, especially in a sunny day. Tasty food, big portions. Coffee is okay. Want to come back to enjoy experience again
This place is awesome. We had brekky with my partner and our best mates. The view of the beach was awesome and the food was incredibly good. You should try their Eggs Benedict and their Chili Scrambled Eggs. They make it so perfectly, you'll want to come back for more. We'll definitely come back to try their lunch menu.
This is a pleasant cafe with a beautiful view right across to Melbourne. The service is great and the battered flathead tails are done to perfection. Their cake range is amazing. Our favourite all round go to cafe. The owner and his staff are very friendly and efficient.
