stopped in for an after-dinner treat at about 930pm. had the baileys and scorched almond and omg! safe to say this was the best ice cream i've had in a long time! regret not getting two scoops! also love the free topping station with nuts, sprinkles, and sauces. pricey for ice cream (almost $6 for a single), but still highly recommend! they also do other desserts like fresh donuts, shakes, and fondue.
Their ice-cream is done really well and they have a large enough variety of flavours that almost anyone can find something they like. The seating inside and outside is relatively uncomfortable and cramped, although that's not too huge of an issue due to the proximity of the beach! It's much more rewarding to take a walk down the beach or the streets of semaphore than to sit. Staff is friendly enough but nothing spectacular, overall experience is solid.
After a nice walk along the Semaphore beach enjoying the sunset, i decided to grab some sweets. Royal Copenhagen was the closest to me and I've seen one at most beaches so i figured beach + ice cream, must be a great combination. When i got there, i actually didnt know they sold things other than ice cream and drinks.
Their menu had a variety of desserts that i honestly did not expect. They had waffles, fondues, crepes, etc.. at first i was just planning in getting a scoop or two but after browsing their menu, i got tempted to get their fondue. The amount of sides we got to dip in their rich and warm chocolate was unbelievable. There was too much we couldn't finish!
An unexpected trip to Royal Copenhagen but a very pleasant one. With their variety of desserts and located closely to several beaches, i believe ill become a regular in no time.
