What an amazing place with such a delicious and sumptuous food. Friendly staff and very spacious for big parties to organize. Would recommend to everyone and a must try place.
What a awesome job u guys have done. Great service and delicious food. It was really wonderful. All the arrangement, Food quality & quantity and ofcourse service was mind blowing and better then our expectations. Thank you very much cafe saffron for making our daughter's b'day party really beautiful. Whether its decoration or its spacious venue or friendly & hard working staff, everything was upto mark. I highly recommend everyone to have their party at cafe saffron. Thanks once again with Jyoti Arora.
My husband and I bought a voucher from Groupon to try this restaurant out, and to my very pleasant surprise, it was absolutely wonderful!!!
Whilst the appearance of the restaurant is not fantastic, the food blew me away! Some of the best food I've eaten! We will definitely be returning!
The staff were wonderful and very friendly, and the service was VERY VERY quick! We were greeted with smiles and lovely cold water, as it was 35 degrees outside it was a lovely greeting!
10/10!
The 5 Stars Given is for the Food.
However I'm very disappointed with the Service. There was no one at the Bar and it took 20 minutes for a Jug of water and when it came the waiter tipped the jug on the person sitting across the table from me. Over all the food was 5 And I definitely recommend it... and would take my family there again and again.
Thank you team Cafe Saffron. We not only loved the ambience, food and decor but really appreciate the hard work of your entire team. Thanks for accommodating all our small and big needs for the function. We will definitely recommend this restaurant as a great function venue and would love to host a party here again.
Best in North Side
We drive from Craigieburn to dine in there
Best indian meal ive had outside mums kitchen!!!!!
We celebrated our son's birthday party 🎉 last night. It went wonderful.Everyone was happy 😊 with delicious food, customer service, decoration and all arrangements. Big dance floor. We enjoyed a lot so once again Thank you so much.
Delicious food and excellent service.
Highly recommended
I absolutely loved it. All the apprehensions and fears were simply outdone by the most professional service by Mr Rakesh and his team. Our Bombay Velvet Diwali party on 31 October was an absolute hit and would not have been possible at all without Cafe Saffron. 300 people, all satisfied, food never finished, ambience cosy and welcoming. What else could you ask for.
Way to go. Thank you, you made our night.
Had the banquet meal last night, absolutely beautiful, great service, definitely would go again
We love this place! We’ve eaten here a few times and agree that it’s the best curry we’ve had since moving back to Australia from the UK. Recommend the chefs special chicken dish.
Actual Rating: 3.5
Ordered Dal Makhni, Goat Curry, Chicken Korma and Palak Paneer for pick up on a Saturday. While picking up the order, the girl was nice and courteous. Coming to the food, i loved their Dal Makhni and the goat was just cooked to perfection. Perfectly tender as it is meant to be. Even though everything was ordered to be medium spicy, i found the palak Paneer to be a touch spicier which might be a bit hard for people who cannot handle spicy food. Chicken korma was good as well. I did not have many issues with the food but i found the quantity of the items to a bit inconsistent as some items were packed till the top and others were packed till half of the container as visible in the pics. Once I eat in at the restaurant, I might revise my rating to a higher score if everything is good.
Ordered takeaway last night. Delivery was very quick and the food was fantastic. We had lamb Rogan josh and lamb korma. Great Indian restaurant for the northern suburbs will be ordering from them again.
Second best Indian I've ever had, best in South Morang by FAR. Meal deals 'bytes' are amazing value, 2 person desk could probably feed 4 people, with whole tandoori chicken, samosas, garlic naan and two mains. Butter chicken and chicken vindaloo amazing. Would highly recommend eating takeaway however, decor not great inside! Often busy with huge Indian weddings as well!
We came to this restaurant using a Groupon voucher. Lots of food for the price you pay. The food was nice with good flavours but not much spice, not the best Indian I've ever had, not the worst either.
The service was friendly but a bit slow as there was only 2 people working on a Friday night.
Had the chaat from here - aloo tikki and papdi chaat from here. Taste is almost authentic so if you're craving some chaat definitely recommend it.
Food is very good, the restaurant itself is just a function room but where they lack decor they make up with delicious meals and super friendly service.

We used to frequent this location when we lived closer a few years ago; but haven't been back since we moved away. However, we visited with family (who live out that way) this past weekend and ordered their "Double Budget Byte Feast" which was $64.90 + $5 delivery fee -- via Menulog -- and it was really impressive! We requested the delivery be made by 7pm, and it arrived about 10 minutes *early* - which was great! The deal included 1 whole Tandoori Chicken, which (I was told) was incredibly moist and very, very tasty! It also came with 4 samosas, which had a nice crunchy pastry and semi-spicy potato filling. We got 4 curries in the deal: Shahi Paneer, Dahl Makhani, Lamb Rogan Josh, and Beef Andhra. All were definitely tasty - but the meat curries seemed to have a bit of excess oil floating at the top (which can definitely put you off wanting to eat them) - so we drained that excess oil (maybe it was ghee? not sure) from the containers. Hubby bear said the beef quality was good, but there were a few 'chewy' bits of lamb. Our meal-deal also included 2 large rice containers, 4 naan bread, raita, chutney and pappadams. For delivery - we all think the food withstood the test. We'll definitely order from these guys again, but the carnivores will likely skip getting the lamb ;)
Sensational Indian food in the suburbs.
Went here for a work dinner and we had a large selection of lamb, chicken, goat, beef, prawn dishes and all were great.
Service is very good and pricing is reasonable too.
The wait is worth it. This restaurant was introduced to us by some friends. I must say I was impressed with the quality and taste of Cafe Saffron. We came on a night where half the room had a 21st gathering and the other half open to the public. We were warned that the music will be loud due to the party, but we didn't mind. It felt like we were dining in India being surrounded by their beautiful colours, cutlery and music. For our entree we had their samosa which was a great start. The wait in between the entree to the main was a quite long. But having said that the butter chicken melted in your mouth. It was tender and full of flavour that it was worth the wait. The palak paneer (spinach with goats cheese) didn't disappoint either. The wait staff were friendly and made sure we were looked after. We will be coming back again.
I don't normally go for Indian food but bought several different dishes for a party and everyone seemed to love it.
Thumbs up.
Looks warehouse but GREAT food!. Don't be put off by the exterior appearance of this restaurant, we love Indian food and since moving away from our all time favourite Indian in Eltham, we have looked around for another great eat... THIS IS IT! The service is fantastic, but book on a weekend to avoid disappointment, if you want a quiet night out, this is not the place, and this is part of the reason my family love to eat here. There seems to always be a party or disco on and my kids are always welcomed to join in the dancing on the dance floor. It is by far the best butter chicken you will ever get in the North, and reasonably priced. We have even been shown the owners appreciation of be returning customers, with free desserts on our last few visits. We will not buy Indian from anywhere else again, not even Eltham. 10/10
Food was yummy and big portions. Music was average as was the service when asking for ingredients in a dish.
Best food in melbourne i ever had!! Good and quick service.. Nice environment n decoration... U will feel tht its best place to have indian food. But the waitresses doesn't look profesional from their behaviour and service. Thnx
Mrs bhawna rai. Its the best restaurent i heve ever seen, wonderful venue
It has moved to 1/5 Danaher Drive South Morang. Best Indian I have had! There is even a dance floor!
Went last night with some friends, and had to wait for over an hour for food. Not happy about it. Not even an apology. The fact that they had a function on as well would have prompted them to put on extra staff!
Great curry ... eat in? hmm .... We have been buying takeaway from here for quite a while, always very impressed. However, we ate here once and had the unpleasant experience of having dishes "upsized" without that being made clear to us. We order less takeaway as a result, but the curry is to be commended.
