I am extremely happy with my cute little pineapple cake from the Yummy Puff dessert shop. I showed a photo to the lady at the shop of the cake that I wanted for my tropical theme party, and the results were better than expected! So cute and very delicious!! And the price was really affordable!!! From now on all my cakes will be from the Yummy Puff Cafe :)

I came in for the pie and coffee special, $10. Payed an extra dollar for iced coffee. The staff were friendly. Iced coffee was refreshing. The chicken pie was better than average. Soft pastry, but only just enough filling. I also got a creamy puff which was a lovely little treat. Nothing here blew me away but all of it was tasty. The hunt for the best pie on chapel st continues...

Must try strawberry chiffon cake and chocolate crepe cake!! Absolutely fresh, delicious, super fluffy cakes. Left me dreaming for more!

Had the chocolate crepe cake and 2 of the 3 available flavours of cream puffs. Honestly, chocolate crepe tasted like nestle yoghurt piled on a bit thicker than preferred crepes. While the creme puffs aren't much to mention as I had the original and macha flavour, the macha felt like just a hit of flavour without any pullbacks. Thanks for the meal anyway.

Friendly staff, Irresistible cheesecake, and good coffee. What more do you need in a cafe

The green tea and red bean crepe cake was simply divine. Also sampled the red velvet chiffon gateau and dark chocolate stout ice cream both of which were delicious. The chef clearly knows his stuff and was very enthusiastic about his food. Will definitely be back to try their savoury offerings.

Delicious cakes with many many handmade layers. Fresh and great flavor, not too sweet!

Beautiful, fresh cakes with great flavour. I loved my matcha and red bean one. The owner is extremely friendly and is full of passion. Their Taiwanese style fusion food is also creative and great for a quick bite.

Great place, delicious food, friendly staff. With everything from crepes, home made bubble teas...to Japanese curries and Korean street food we left incredibly satisfied. Thank you so much for your incredible hospitality

Great place to stop for dessert. Awesome customer service! Their savory menu looked really interesting as well. Will definitely pop by again to try that or even just for dessert again.

Wonderful cakes made in store with plenty of fresh fruit and cream. Often a small selection but the choices in cakes change each day, making the choice refreshing each time. One of the few places where I like the macha flavour. The staff are also very friendly and clearly enjoy and take pride in their baking. Somewhat on the pricey side for a student budget but well worth saving up for an afternoon out.

After a small stroll down Chapel Street noticed this place with cute cakes on display. Tried the red velvet chocolate cake which was absolutely beautifully constructed in its elements and flavours
Hello. Imnikki
When I walked in and saw the durian crepe cake in the fridge waving at me, I completely disregard my initial plan of trying out the puff pastry. Who cares if the shop is named Yummy Puff? Puff pastry can wait for another day! Not only that, the Purple Sticky Rice Chiffon Cake caught my eye too. You don’t see that flavour everyday and I would be a fool not to try that.

Well, pat on the back for me because both choices didn’t let me down. Yet it pains me to admit that the chiffon cake was superior to the crepe cake. The chiffon cake was light and airy, and the sticky rice was a mochi-like sticky and tender texture. Thumbs up from the partner and you know it’s good when he who does not love sweets approves. The durian crepe cake was delicious, because it was filled with luscious durian flesh and cream, but unfortunately each individual layer of crepe was a bit dense. A bit thinner and it would have been perfect.

The milk tea was, much to our surprise, freshly brewed to order. The durian milk tea had durian flesh in them (woohoo!) but the ice cream was the generic some part icy, some part bland kind of ice cream. The matcha milk tea also had a generous serving of red beans, which was lovely.

Helpful and friendly service, and when noticing that I was going to pay by card, the waitress was kind enough to let me know that if I paid by cash, I get a 5% discount. Something to bear in mind everyone!

The best one I ever have taste 😋😋 not too sweet like most other desserts.

I tried the original cream puff bun and durian one which is really have durian fruit! Love love love !
The purple rice cake also very very good! Must try other favours.

Popped into Yummy Puff for a quick takeaway sweet post burger indulgence across the road. The staff were very lovely and offered us water while we were waiting for our puffy goodness. At 3 for $5 it’s quite a cheap sweet fix. They have vanilla, chocolate and green tea available so you can opt to try one of each. I sampled the vanilla which was a feather light choux with a nicely sweetened cream. If you like profiteroles this is the place for you. They also have a lot of other options in the cake cabinet if pastry isn’t your thing. But why wouldn’t it be 🤷🏻‍♀️

After an amazing burger dinner across the road we headed to YPP&C for some lite weight desserts to give us that essential sweet finish we were all after. Yummy had three cream puffs options and they sold three for $5. We skipped matcha and ordered vanilla & chocolate varieties. They delivered on taste and freshness and we so lite and airy that they hardly caused a dine in our overfilled bellies. Just what we needed.

The inside had a few seating options and they had other items and drinks in the menu but we were just after the choux pastry puffs of goodness.

Great service, great coffee, and the puff was perfect. I would 100% recommend to anyone looking for something sweet to keel them going. I'll be back!
Jess Tu
3 puff for $5, it is a bargain, but it didnt taste good!!!! the vanilla puff was blent, it had no sugar, no flavor, and no taste!!!! the matcha puff was even worse, i cant taste matcha at all.
Joanna Shaddai
3 puffs for $5! Quite a bargain! Got the chocolate, matcha, and vanilla flavours. The best one was the chocolate. The matcha lacked intensity and the vanilla was just okay.

Service was pretty friendly, but a little bit slow despite being the only one there.

It was it wasn't too cold at all and pretty nice weather outside at night time.
We're walking down along Toorak Road to find a desert shop but everything is closed cause it was little bit late.
We've decided to walk along the Chapel Street when we're reaching the corner of Malvern Rd and Chapel St and we saw a flashy cafe "Yummy Puff".
The interior design was bright, funky and fun, we liked it; It's even better that they have a deal 3 creamy puffs for $5.00.
Ohh while we're waiting, we enjoyed having a look when they're preparing the creamy puff.

The customer staff was very nice and friendly. We know it was late almost the closing time but they're serving us with smile.
We ordered 3 of them, unfortunately they didn't have any left but 1 only ( one or $2.00 ) and we chose the matcha flavor.
We reckon $2.00 for a creamy puff was fair enough; It wasn't small either.
The puff was served fresh and the filler wasn't too creamy which was great.
Unfortunately, we hardly taste the matcha flavour and personally I reckon it was slightly bland.
I'd expect slightly sweeter would be better for a desert.

We might order the wrong one flavour, we'll definitely come back to try other deserts cause they're so appealing.

Service : 4.5
Price : 3.5
Taste : 2.5
Speed : 3.5

Yay : Great customer service
Nay : Matcha flavour wasn't strong and little bit bland

Location : 348 Chapel Street, South Yarra, Melbourne
Phone : 03 9827 5008

Got 3 cream puffs for $5. Having the cafe named after the product you'd think it was their trump card and would definitely taste good, but they turned out to be nothing but disappointment. The choux pastry was so sad and stale, and had probably been sitting in the fridge for god knows how long. The cream was...just that. Nothing spectacular, and didn't taste particularly fresh either. I could actually taste the matcha flavour in the matcha cream, which scored it some redeeming points. But other than that I can't find anything else positive to say about them.
FoodieCCC
Looked nice but tasted bland, it was hard to tell the matcha flavor in there. Coffee was so average.
The price was reasonable and service was friendly.
FoodBooster
The waiters are nice and helpful here with yummy mocha cake which won't make you feel over creamy and delighted with little bit sweet. I also ordered the Japanese curry which were average but the beef tasted nice since it was finely stewed. People who live close to this cafe can go here and treat themselves with a nice afternoon tea.

Sooo tastyyyy! Especially having durian and original cheese cakes in such a rainy Friday night!!!
Julia Jiang
Maybe their desserts are great, but I don't recommend to go there for a proper lunch. They serve a bit too slowly, and the dishes are too small that we got hungry in 3 hours. Dishes are OK but a little expensive.

The price seemed good but the desserts themselves were pretty awful!

The cream puffs were tasting a touch stale but were actually not too bad. However, the cake was a huge disappointment. The cake slice looked pretty with edible glitter and fruit on top, but the serving size was tiny and rattling around in the small single-serve box (barely filling half of it). Also it was clearly frozen and defrosted (badly), the contents were still partially frozen, crystallised and soggy-bottomed, and the taro had become grainy and unpleasant.

The reviews made this place seem really appealing, so it was a huge let down.

Although you wouldn't expect savoury food from a patisserie cafe, the sweet potato chips were delicious! And menu range interesting and quite appealing! Desserts were delicious and all made in store! Service was exceptional - Definitely returning to this cute and appetising cafe! :)

Though Yummy Puff, as the name may imply, specializes in sweets and pastries it has a wide range of food options on display; though it is indeed their cakes and other such goodies that stand out. Their chiffon gateau cakes in particular delighted me, full of flavor and not completely saturated in sugar like a lot of lesser patisseries do to disguise a lack of taste! As for the savories, I do wish they had a broader selection of vegetarian options, but the dangerous mushroom rice dish is plenty satisfying, perfectly portioned with a full mix of flavors to please. The puff pastries - being part of the name - were good, but, surprisingly, not great; the only standout weakness so far, the green tea puff was a little bland - though the chocolate and vanilla were nice and refreshing.

The service is quite good and they are very generous with samplers and customer treatment; the owner in particular is a very generous soul, and is always happy to talk about his creations.

Yummy Puff comes highly recommended.

All food in this restaurant is creative and amazingly tasteful!!! Recommend Soft Shell Crab Rice Burger and Toasted in the Cup!!! Their Green Tea Crepe Cake is better than any other cake shops I've tasted in Melbourne!!!

Yummy Puff was a fantastic experience, my friend I had never been there before and we were pleasantly surprised. We ordered the sweet potato fries which were so good, especially with the sauce.
We also ordered a green tea ganache, which was divine but the beer chocolate ice cream was the best. I have never really tried anything like it, but I honestly love it and can't wait to go back!
The service was brilliant, they really take pride in their food and it really shows. I'm definitely going back and I would recommend it and try their beer cream.

Delightful Dessert Shop on Chapel Street! The cakes here are delicate, light, creamy and scrumptious. As a regular here, I am often taking away slices of cakes to enjoy at home. Mango Crepe Cake is delicious. My favourite is the Durian Crepe Cake, being Chinese Malaysian, I enjoy durian flavour - an acquired taste. Staff are always friendly and engaging, eager to please. A welcome addition to Chapel Street.

the durian milk tea was really good~especially for durian lover like me! and I also like the seafood spaghetti, however I actually expected a bigger portion...the mixed puff were still crispy on the outside when they served to me,however, it would be better if the stuffing inside has more sugar...I mean, dessert should be sweet enough.😋service was great!

Great food, milk tea and ice cream. We tried rice burger, seafood puff and beef curry. Will come back again. Great service! The chef even came to us and asked whether we like the food, very friendly!
