Review Bun Bun Bakery - Springvale

Carolyn Lee
Get the roast pork! The pork is good and I usually go for the classic but the roast pork is delicious. It's not too fatty and the meat is tender, the crackling is light and crispy! They're generous with the mayo and the house made pate is super flavourful. The bread holds all the sauce inside without losing it's integrity. Lastly, the ratio is good. A good amount of veges and the wet ingredients are spread evenly across the bottom of the roll which means you get a bit with every bite. Great Banh mi location!

Bun Bun Bakery are a really good little Bakery in the heart of Springvale with honestly some of the best quality Banh MI around! There is always a long line during peak times and it's no surprise considering how good the Rolls are, the Bread is always freshly Baked daily unlike a lot of Bakeries trying to save a dollar, there is multiple different choices for fillings but I must say they are all delicious! šŸ·The BBQ Pork is unlike any I have had anywhere... the Pork is so soft and literally melts in your mouthšŸ¤¤šŸ„– the Bread Roll is crispy and crumbly on the outside, on the inside its soft and airy ā˜ļø be sure to have cashšŸ’° as Bun Bun Bakery doesn't accept card payment, there a Wespac ATM across the road though šŸ’³ I Highly Recommend Bun Bun Bakery for Banh MI! ā¤

Bun Bun Bakery - Roast Pork Banh Mi $6 šŸ–šŸ„–šŸ„•šŸ„¬šŸŒ¶ You have no idea how much I missed their Banh Mi šŸ¤¤šŸ¤¤šŸ¤¤ I drove straight to Springvale right after they eased the 5km travel restrictionšŸ¤ Freshly made soft bun roll loaded with fresh veggies and crispy roast pork šŸ¤¤ costing $6 only. Small price increase but quality and flavour are still as good as before. Bun bun bakery never disappoints me šŸ’•šŸ’•

I took my first bite of their Roast Pork BBQ Banh Mi and thought to myself "my life has hope" It was my first Banh Mi in Melbourne and what a great little spot to start on a whole new foodie adventure. We made the trip through to Springvale because of other reviews and recommendations and Bun Bun Bakery didn't disappoint. There was a small line outside that was fast moving and I actually preferred that to just waltzing straight in and up to the counter because it gave me the feeling that we were in for something a bit special here. We placed our order and quickly headed back to the car to devour our meal in peace. There was no seating either inside or out so it's a stand and munch kinda vibe. The bread roll is both crispy and soft at the same time and the balance of both flavor and textures in the fillings was on point! Crunchy Carrot and pickled cucumber, fried onions and just the right amount of chilli. A bit salty and a bit sweet and of course the main attraction a deliciously succulent bbq glazed roast pork with crispy pork crackling sprinkled beneath it. My pictures of the roll just don't do it justice to be fair, but I was way too focussed on getting it in ma belly šŸ¤£ Even if you don't live close I'd still recommend taking a drive through at least once so you too can add it to your personal top ten Banh Mi in Melbourne list šŸ‘šŸ¼

Best banh mi place in Springvale and maybe all of Melbourne. Always delivers quality banh mis. I recommend the roast pork and roast chicken. Roast pork is always the classic choice when it comes to banh mi. Theyā€™ve upped their pricing to $7 and itā€™s cash only. They donā€™t put much chilli when you ask for chilli.

I understand why itā€™s considered the best in town! Their bread is so fresh and nice, they have plenty of variety; and the butter and pate in any bread roll is the best!
Jen
Enjoyed a beautiful roast pork roll. Satisfying goodness. Prices have gone up to $7 a roll. A bit of a jump from $6. But a good filling, tasty mix. Roast pork was well balanced with some fat, crispiness yum. The lemongrass chicken is ok, the portion was smaller.

It was a Saturday morning when I came and got my bbq pork roll. The line seemed to be quite long, but the line moved actually quite fast as there are multiple people serving the rolls. I bought the bbq pork roll, which tastes AMAZING and also grabbed the other purple cake roll and their sweet buns. I think the sweet buns taste alright, i was under the impression the purple coloured roll is yam flavour but actually not. Overall it's a great experience, bit far from where I live, but i gotta say their bread is crispy outside and soft i side. I had my bbq pork roll while driving and it didnt fell apart and crumbled too much, not much cleaning afterwards. Happy days

Loving the banh mi here. The bread is already so crispy and fresh. I ordered the crispy pork which comes with a generous amount of pork and crackling. Filled with onion, carrot, cucumber, sliced lettuce and spread with pate and margarine. Definately top of the list for bang mi and the staff are so lovely there.

My all time favourite banh mi in Melbourne! Bun Bun's BBQ Roasted Pork roll is truly worth trying, and priced at such a competitive price too.

They serve their banh mi's with fresh ingredients and a fatty pateĢ base. Every time I have been (which is many times now) has been a delightful experience and their service has always been amazing.

Thereā€™s also always a line so you know this little bakery is super popular. I recommend avoiding the lunch rush as it is the most busy, but the line also moves quickly. Also- dont just buy one because youā€™ll want to eat another one straight after!!!!

Grilled lemon bun me was just average nothing g special.
Had better bun me from other places before.
They donā€™t use tiger rolls unless you ask them to I thought all bun me places use tiger rolls.

Best breads in Australia. Service is excellent and friendly. Come back here every week.
My fav banh mi in all of Melbourne! And at $6 a roll you'd be crazy to miss out on these bad boys. Roast pork and gravy all the way šŸ˜šŸ˜

Had to check out what the hype was about and boy did Bun Bun impress!

Crunchy fresh rolls, delicious pate and mayo, spices trash chili and mouth watering pork! Then roasted lemongrass chicken was equally as good! $6 per roll = BARGAIN! Yum!
Delicious rolls can't get a better value meal. I had the tofu version - everything in there was fresh and delicious and in the right proportions. Partner enjoyed two of the bbq pork. Will be going back next time I'm in Springvale.

It's so good! The bread is fresh and crunchy (get the Tiger bread!), the pate flavourful and the mayo so rich and velvety delicious. The meat has got the quality, flavour you can taste with a bit of fat but not too much. Also they use such good quality, fresh veggies and their Vietnamese pickles help break up the richness of the meats, pate and mayo. Such a gem of a spot. I'll choose their banh mi over any thing else served at any other restaurant/bakery/cafe in Melbourne.
Joyce Lin
My favourite banh mi place! There seems to always be a long queue here and there's a good reason for it. I love the BBQ Pork and roast pork. The pork is always succulent and juicy and the bun is crispy but never dry. At $6, bun bun bakery offers a really affordable yet filling meal and I will continue to come back time after time!
Greg Smith
IMHO this is the best banh mi in Melbourne!

4.5 Excellent

My go to spot for banh mi in Springvale, heck all of Melbourne! Iā€™ve seen an increase in popularity judging by how long the lines have increased over the years, luckily for me dad brought one home for me. He usually gets the crispy pork but for whatever reason he got the lemongrass chicken this time.

Straight off the bat the bread has a nice firmness to it and is the perfect vessel for all the delicious ingredients. The pate is plenty and rich, you can taste the lemongrass from the chicken and it was not dry at all.

I still favour the crispy pork and roast pork in BBQ sauce however. At $5.50 a pop, it has been my top cheap eat in the past few years. Theyā€™re never stingy with the fillings and Iā€™m always satisfied with my roll.

14/04/17 - 4.5 Excellent

First learnt of this place via social media, even though I'm local I've always walked past this place and thought nothing of it. I now frequent this bakery any chance I can get.

What separates this bakery from the rest is the bread, nice and bouncy, crisp without crumbling all over your shirt. The other is their bbq roast pork, lovely bbq sauce and a nice ratio of meat/fat.

Also glad to announce that they are now open Sundays as of recent! Shame they don't do their own crispy roast pork, will have to go to another store for that.

Incredibly fresh flavours and fresh crusty white bread that is not so big you canā€™t fit it in your mouth. Well priced also, @ 5.50 a roll you canā€™t beat that value!
RT
No. 1 Banh Mi in Melbourne! The bread is consistently great, amazing crunch when you bite into it. The roast pork is my favourite filling, very tender and juicy. Service is fantastic and fast and with a smile.
Miss N
Pork rolls with the lot are amazing here! canā€™t explain it
TheHangryTurtle
It would be crime not to score this place a 5. Been coming here since it was ok to call them FOB rolls and they are the best rolls this side of Melb and up there in probably Vic i'd say.
Warm meaty filling, right balanced ingredient portions and the bread is a softer baguette so a more pleasant chewing experience. If there was any weakness it would be the pickled carrot which ive had better in other sandwiches, but for some reason i keep coming back here. Excellent price point as well so ticks all the sandwich boxes. Brighten up your life and try a roll from this joint. Packed out at lunchtimes.

ABSOLUTE FAV BANH MI SHOP! They never disappoint!!! Order the bbq roast pork itā€™s soooo yum! Really cheap too and itā€™s also filling :)
Sunny Days Melbourne
It's pretty clear why Bun Bun serves up one of the best if not THE best banh mi in Melbourne. I was pretty fortunate to arrive at the shop when there was a bit of a lull in customers so I only had to queue up for a few minutes before my order was taken. I must say the ordering system was fairly chaotic without any clear delineation of where the back of the queue was.

I ordered the barbecue pork roll and the mixed ham roll. The size of the rolls were slightly larger than other joints. The friendly aunties really work hard at stuffing each roll to the brim and they do a pretty good job at making sure bits and pieces do not fall out.

The barbecue pork roll had magical crispy pork skins at the base which added a whole new dimension to the banh mi. The mixed ham had at least 5 slices of ham - this made me very happy.

I'm glad I have discovered this place and will definitely be making lots of trips here in the future!
Tori
The Bahn mi is so good, full of flavour and only $5 what a bargain. All the ladies that work there are lovely too.
Doc
Bbq pork roll bloody awesome brilliance!! $5.50 canā€™t go wrong great as a hangover cure just go early gets very busy after 11am!! #drunklife.

The best lunch that $7 can buy you! A colleague suggested we all get takeaway Bun Bun for lunch and all 6 of us agreed that this should become a weekly occurrence.

Simple but fresh ingredients, ample quantity of everything and customisable such as with/without chilli or pate. Couldn't fault the bahn mi, will 100% be a returning customer.
Tianshu Sun
The best Banh Mi in Melbourne, the bread is crispy and crusty outside and soft inside, please do have some chilli and pate as they add another layer of flavour, must try it and you will thank me later šŸ‘šŸ¼šŸ‘šŸ¼

The most delicious banh mis I have ever tasted. I ordered the pork roll and it came with crispy pork crackling. omg it was so good and full of veggies and the crunchy yet soft bread was the hilight. The queue looks long but it moves very fast like a well-oiled machine. I got the rice paper rolls too which were fresh and packed with ingredients. Love this place.
Onara
Pretty much a perfect bahn mi, if only for its simplicity. The staff know how to move quickly and work through a queue of customers. The bag didnā€™t go soggy. The fillings didnā€™t fall out. The flavours were in balance. I asked for only a little chilli, and thatā€™s what I received. And it was bloody delicious too! All this for $5.50?? Canā€™t fault it

I havn't been to Springvale in the longest time ever. An opportunity came up last Sunday which was Father's Day and we were in the area. I remember 'Mustard' had mentioned about Bun Bun Bakery and it's infamous Banh Mi so we quickly did a pit stop to purchase some!Ā

šŸ”†LOCATIONšŸ”†

Bun Bun Bakery is situated on the main street of Springvale Road right in the centre of the main shopping stripe. A short walk from Woolies Supermarket and Chemist Warehouse.

šŸ”†SERVICEšŸ”†

It was good old typical Vietnamese friendly service with smile. The women behind the counters was fast and efficient in preparing all the pork roll orders!Ā

The lady that served me was so generous in the pickled carrots, she just piled it on! I was quite surprised. After she finished making my 3 orders, she told me exactly which ones were in each of the coloured paper bags! So well organised. I was left quite impressed.Ā

šŸ”†MENU/PRICEšŸ”†Ā

Brilliant! All their Bahn Mi Pork Rolls are standard flat price of $5.00. Oh my gosh! so cheap! Much cheaper than those Banh Mi that are sold in the city. There are soo many different types of meat flavour options to select from including:Ā

- Roasted Pork in BBQ Sauce
- Roasted Chicken in Lemongrass
- Chicken Kebab
- Pork Ham
- BBQ Roast Pork
- Meat Ball in tomato sauce
- Steam Pork Ham
We ordered the following Banh Mi rolls:

Traditional Pork Roll, $5.00
Traditional Pork Roll with fresh Chilli, $5.00
Roasted Pork in BBQ Sauce Roll, $5.00

----
Bun Bun Bakery makes fresh bread rolls daily.Ā I was keen to to buy some Kaiser rolls but they were all sold out. For your reference, their bread roll costs are:Ā

Tiger Roll, 0.70cĀ
Tiger Stick, $1.50
French Stick, $2.00
Small Stick, $1.00
Round Roll, 0.40c
Kaiser Roll, 0.40c
Dinner Roll, 0.25c or 4 for $1.00

šŸ”†VERDICTšŸ”†

The Banh Mi bread roll itself is actually quite a large size - well much more decent size than the ones I've tried in the city and in Richmond.Ā Super crunchy and crispy on the top and very fresh and soft inside.Ā The portion of the pate and mayo butter was spot on - not too much not to little so that you can taste a bit of both when you bite into the Bahn Mi.Ā As mentioned before the amount of picked carrots was alot, not to say its a bad thing as I like it but the carrot was actually not pickled enough. I did see a lady from the back come out with a huge bucket of pickled carrots. I guess they were in rush to refill the bain marie.Ā All other ingredients including cucumber decent size, coriander portion was good!Ā

The traditional pork banh mi was absolutely delicious.Ā The slices of pork was thin enough but what I was surprised was that she put in 5 pieces which was very generous!Ā
The Roasted Pork in BBQ Sauce was also delicious. The pork was very tender and juicy and warm as it was kept in the heated bain marie. With this one you have to eat it almost immediately because the BBQ sauce does soften the bread roll.Ā Overall very happy and definitely does live up to its name to be the best Banh Mi in Melbourne.
I hope they can consider to open up a franchise bakery that's more central as Springvale is just too far. I will definitely pop back to Bun Bun Bakery to get my Banh Mi fix!

I love Bun Bun. Canā€™t beilive I havenā€™t tried this place any sooner. Had a pork roll and the bread was super crispy and fresh. This place is known for their famous banh miā€™s and fresh rolls. They definitely are doing well as this place gets packed be sure to come early.

Decent price, good amount of filling, but still nothing out of the ordinary. Perhaps its because I purchased the mixed meat where the preserved meats they use may possibly just be from a package so if the lard and the bread is good, then the meats will speak for themselves.Ā

That being said, I give it a 3 as i feel like the price can be cheaper for the mixed meat. As for the bbq pork/ meats where they had to cook them, i think the price is reasonable and the taste is well made (had a bite of my friends). Will go back to get the pork, but may opt for cheaper places nearby for the mixed meat option.Ā

I do give them credit for their soft bun. Slightly crisp on outside but soft and doughy on the inside. Good banh mi bread bun served and you can just purchase the buns which is a nice touch!

Visually this might not look like much but I can tell you hands down is the best Banh Mi in Melbourne. Bun Bun Bakery in Springvale always a queue but their delish lemongrass chicken Banh Mi in the crisp (freshly made) bread roll filled with so much depth in flavour by adding stir fried onions and hoisin sauce. Those google reviews were definitely right! Really good banh mi in Springvale. Thereā€™s always a queue during lunch hours so avoid if possible. Roast pork is my go to choice. Canā€™t go wrong
Vivian
Such a great place for bread rolls ! They pack a lot of ingredients here - my favourite is the pork salad roll and also the French sticks with pate and egg mayo! They really give you a lot so I donā€™t have to ask for extra pate

It s a cheap place to get your lunch with super fast and friendly service. The $5 chicken roll is the best of all bakery shops I have tried.

They say money canā€™t buy you happiness, but here you can get happiness for just $5. Bun Bun Bakery is renowned for their $5 banh mi; packed full of delicious meat, fresh vegetables and delectable pickles, all in a crunchy baguette.
Unfortunately both times Iā€™ve been here, they were sold out of crispy pork... BUT, I can confidently say that their roast pork and chicken were delicious! Not only were the meats flavourful, but they were juicy and complemented all the ingredients perfectly.
This place is a definite MUST TRY to those that venture down to Springvale!

TheMadHatterOnTea
I did not expect a $5 bahn mi to taste this good! I had the roast pork and thought it was amazing. I tried the chicken spring rolls which were super crunchy but a little lacking in the flavour department. Will definitely come back for more bahn mi!

$4.50 for a crackly, moist, porky, crunchy, carroty, chilli, belly rubbing Vietnamese roll! So good. Made me happy. Restored my faith in human nature.
FoodieYeo
By far the best banh mi Iā€™ve ever tasted!!!
What makes it all so good is the bread - Always fresh out the oven, providing you the perfect balance of crunchiness and softness. The fillings are well seasoned & tasty too (lemon grass chicken is my fav!), all for a very reasonable price!

Donā€™t expect too much from customer service though - but then again, what can you expect from a take away joint ?
Linnie Eats All The Food
Iā€™m a Nhu Lan kinda gal when it comes to banh mi thit so when someone says to check out a Vietnamese pork roll joint, my mind instantly goes into using Nhu Lan as the standard. Bun Bun Bakery wasnā€™t too busy when we got there. Like every other Banh Mi joint, it doesnā€™t have seating and itā€™s a quick in and out kinda place.

THE BEST BAHN MI I HAVE EVER TRIED IN MY LIFE - I would say the combination of everything contained in the bread roll totally means PERFECTION!

We came across this bakery as we saw crowds lining up in the store. We went in and the rest is history!!!

I have tried a few other places that sell bahn mi but they are not as good or PERFECT as this!

I would highly recommend the roast pork in bbq sauce one! The pork skin crackles totally compliments the bread roll; the roast pork is well seasoned and cooked; the bread roll is crusty and fragrant!

If you happen to pop by Springvale, please please please come and pay a visit! I can guarantee you wonā€™t regret (:
Melbourne Food Spotter
One of my favourite Banh Mi places in Springvale. Each and every time I order from here the bread roll is hot and freshly baked and it always tastes delicious. They are also very well priced. The only downside I can see is that there is no seating available so you have to take your food elsewhere. Aside from this everything else is perfect.
Eatingmakesmehappy
This is my favorite banh mi place in Melbourne so far! The roasted pork was just like heaven! And the pork cracklings were the bonus. The young lady serving the food was very friendly, unlike some other famous banh mi shops, which made me love this place more. Highly recommend:)

Bun bun Bakery are my go to fob roll place in Melbourne. They serve up the best roast pork! Itā€™s so flavoursome theyā€™re very generous with their servings! I like how they put a sauce over it as well. Their bread rolls are nice and fresh and so are their vegetables. Make sure you go early on the weekends cause they usually sell out of the roast pork. The service is pretty fast and even though itā€™s sometimes itā€™s hard to order due to language barrier (too shy to whip out my broken vietnamese) they still get my order right!

The icecream there is also so delicious! The mango one is my absolute favourite! Itā€™s so creamy and milky. Defs give it a try.

Thanks for the meal!

Regular customer ordering the roast pork banh mi.

As usual awesome banh mi. Easily shares equal best in Springvale to Minh duc bakery. Juicy roast pork pieces with crunchy pork skin, fresh veggies and smooth pate and mayonaise all wrapped up in a crispy and freshly baked bread roll - can't go wrong for 5 dollars to be honest. Of note if coming from Sydney this roast pork style is quite unique to Melbourne so give it a shot!

Banh mi heaven

Ambience: The place doesnt have seats so it's just for takeaways. Menu is displayed clearly and ingredients can be seen through the glass cabinet.

Service: The staff isn't the friendliest as they kept asking us what we want bit impatiently, but aside from that it was a quick no fuss purchase.

Food: Got the roasted pork in bbq sauce banh mi. Went here cos saw it online. At first I thought "wow this Vietnamese roll banh mi thing is great!" But then turns out there are tons of places like this and they have more or less the same formula. Can't say that Bun Bun is the best, but I give it 4 stars cos it's clean, it's rather famous compared to its competitors, and I like the funny name. Def come to try banh mi if you never tried one. If you know an exceptionally superior banh mi joint, let me know.

Quick service, almost like a production line. They make these rolls FAST. Sensational pork rolls. One of the best in Melbourne to visit. Itā€™s hard not buying two...

We recently had Bun Bun Bakery cater a company sponsored lunch for around 85+ people. Let me just say they were absolutely amazing! With 125 meat and veggies rolls ordered, they delivered them on time with each different type of sandwich in a specific coloured bag to help differentiate between them! Not only was everything done in a professional manner but the rolls were delicious! Thank you Bun Bun! We will definitely be back!

My all time favourite banh mi store in Springvale!! I always have a mix of BBQ pork and roasted chicken with extra sauce. All the ladies there are really friendly as well!

My parents own a cafe that also does fob rolls but I still prefer going to Bun Bun; albeit mostly because I've grown sick of our roast pork (yeah I know, what's wrong with this guy?).
Anyway, if you're looking for that famous crispy pork roll, this isn't the place to go.
If you're not looking for crunch, I highly recommend the chicken roll. Most fob rolls use oyster sauce, however Bun Bun has a different marinade/sauce which greatly prefer. It's still got that sweet flavour, but on top of that, my ideal level of spiciness; enough that you can definitely taste it, but not overpowering like the fresh chilli.
Their pork roll is pretty good too, but doesn't have that spicy marinade.
Edgar Darmawan
I usually get the roast pork roll when buying banh mi in springvale - the one at this place i don't think is as nice as a couple other ones ive gotten around the market. the pork wasnt as crispy and overall flavour not as tasty as some others. Not bad though, just had better.
Kacangma
Bun Bun Bakery has always been my favourite place to get banh mi. I only order roast pork with bbq sauce. The baguette is crispy outside and soft inside. The combination of butter and pate is just right with the chilli that leaves a mild burning sensation around the mouth. The carrot is slightly pickled and the meat comes with moderate amount of fat. You know how much effort they put in to make it right with just a bite.
The Brunch Specialist
Banh mi is easily my favourite kind of sandwich! Whilst I was over this side of town, I decided to seek out Bun Bun Bakery, which has a reputation for making one of the best banh mi in Melbourne.

I ordered the roast pork with bbq sauce banh mi. The roll was crunchy and tasty, with a generous amount of filling, like any good banh mi. The veggies were crisp and the meat delicious. My only critique is that I would have liked slightly more chilli. At only $5, itā€™s a great cheap eat and good value for money.

I highly recommend you check out Bun Bun Bakery if you are in the area. Their popularity is evident from the constant stream of people entering and exiting the store. Despite this, service is quick and efficient.

Overall, I rate Bun Bun Bakery āļøāļøāļøāļø out of 5.

Came around late lunch time and unfortunately theyā€™d run out of pate šŸ˜ and I didnā€™t have time to wait for the next batch to be made, so I decided to try the roast pork banh mi. If youā€™ve mostly had traditional banh miā€™s you might find this odd with the bbq sauce, onions and lettuce but it surprisingly works with the melt in your mouth pork.

The buns here are also delicious, fresh but without been overly crispy so the mess is minimal compared to a lot of banh mi Iā€™ve had before. Would love to know what peopleā€™s thoughts are on bun bunā€™s traditional banh mi flavours? Canā€™t wait to try this and when theyā€™ve got the sticks in as well next time!

My favourite place for Banh Mi in Springvale! I always ordered the chicken roll, it is very tasty and satisfying. The combination of flavours is just amazing, the richness of pate, the fresh and crunchy bite of pickled carrot and cucumber, the flavourful lemongrass chicken, packed in a crunchy-yet-soft-on-the-inside vietnamese roll. Iā€™m hungry now.

My mum loves this place and I love their competitor down the road. Each to their own so you should definitely try both before you make a decision šŸ˜Š

Arguably best banh mi in Melbourne. Definitely a local standout in Springvale area.Ā My personal favourites are the Roast Pork or the Lemon Grass Chicken. Very popular choice for locals as there may be a queue at peak times, but service is always very quick.Ā The mini spring rolls are great as well. French sticks and other bakery items are solid too. Great all round bakery.
Nini Foodie
Very possibly the best banh mi in Melbourne, but my favourite thing here is the very naughty bread stick with a massive smothering of butter and pate ($3) šŸ¤¤šŸ¤¤

Rated as the place for 'banh mi' in Springvale we stopped by one day for lunch. Parking wasn't fun, so I got dropped off while the car circled the block waiting. It's on the main street though not near the station, around the corner of ANZ bank. Entrees! For lunch? Yes please.Ā . I still recall my first lamington back home, it was green inside. Hence I'm really not a fan of anything that I'm not certain is fresh when it comes to asian bakeries. God knows how long ago that was made.

If you are non vego, the roast pork Banh My is the bomb. The five stars are from my carnivore five year old, says it was the best sandwich EVER. And the last one he had was on Vietnam! Highly recommended, cheap as chips.
Just can't get enough of their bun! Soooo good! I love BBQ sauce roast pork with extra chili in it and my hubby loves pork ham, their small stick is yummy too, they put bun sauce in it, my two year old son can even eat half of it.

I ordered the lemongrass chicken, chicken was cold even though it was in a bain marie, it didnā€™t taste fresh at all either. There was hardly any mayo or pate spread onto the bread that my roll was very dry. I asked for extra carrot and there was hardly any carrot even though she charged me extra as well. I ate this roll straight after I bought it and it was a huge let down. Got food poisoning as well. The lady who took my money with her gloves on continued to serve more pork rolls with the same gloves she handled money with as well.

This place rocks! The food taste great, and is consistent. I have tried other places in spring vale and this place is amazing. The staffĀ is very friendly and helpful.

One of my favourite bakeries in Springvale. Value for money. Bread is always fresh and crispy. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for a hot bread bakery in Springvale

Used to be the go to for banh mi in Springvale.
Not as good as it used to be and with so many other banh mi places around I'd try elsewhere these days.Ā Don't get me wrong it is still nice but nothing special

One of the best Vietnamese banh mi around! Always the same quality and taste every time. Never disappointed, although I have different preferences in how banh mi should taste. This is my go-to place when I want banh mi.

Very filling rolls value for money, I mostly eat the rolls straight away but if I don't the roll still remains crispy unlike other bakeries which goes soggy real quick. I especially like that they lather on the butter & pate the spring rolls aren't that bad either. Yumm!
Bun's Food Diaries
We came to try the pork ham and BBQ pork banh mi. Both were quite tasty, had nice filings, a crispy bread top and we would come back for them. We also ordered two chicken skewers which weren't so great- the masala used to marinate the chicken tasted very much like some generic one you get straight from the supermarket.
Also, staff can barely speak English. Be very clear and keep an eye on them preparing it if you are like me and don't like chilli or spring onion in your banh mi.

Can't complain about my pretty good $5 banh. The roll was so perfectly crispy and generious with the fillings. It was hard to eat as per usual but totally worth it

I've tried many bahn mis in Melbourne but I always fins myself going back to Bun Bun Bakery for this little gem. Not only are they generous with the filling for the price, the bbq meat is guaranteed to be moist and flavoursome. So yum!

Had heard and read some really good things about their BƔnh mi rolls so decided to give it a go. Supposedly they serve one of the best BƔnh mi rolls in Melbourne.

ā–¶Roast Chicken with Lemongrass Roll: Nicely baked bun loaded with mayaonnaise, sauces, pickled carrots, spring onion, coriander, lemongrass and shredded roasted chicken. Ingredients are always fresh, taste and quality is top notch.
Best thing is that you get to customise your roll the way you want it including the bun, ingredients and sauces.
ā–¶Marshmallow Cones: Small ice cream cones filled with fluffy marshmallow and topped with candy sprinkles. Weren't fresh for sure. Almost chewy. Super sweet. Can be avoided.
Overall, an average place with above average prices. However, definitely a good place if you have never tried Vietnamese rolls.

Honestly such a staple family place when we are on the run... bread is fresh and it's so healthy and cheap! highly recommend BBQ pork - best bƔnh mƬ I know!

Each bun is $5. 30% More expensive than some of its competitors.
I ordered their pork belly special.
Definitely the sauce makes the bun special and the fat also makes biting into the bun feels smoother. But overall, I feel they are -just ok-
But do I think $5 worth the money? Not for me. I still prefers other bahn mi of their competitor.
This bakery hasn't succeed in getting me to convert and take out more money.

had the roast pork roll and the chicken kebab roll coz they had run out of pretty much everything else.... the roast pork roll was sublime... the chicken was good but lets just say you should get the pork!
if only they did a crispy pork roll.. add some crackling... there is a place in parkmore that does and it is just down right phenomenal....

One of the best value meals out there - tasty, cheap and healthy!

The roll was super soft and they gave you plenty of meat inside. Veggies were fresh and chillies gave it a nice kick. Banh mi perfected. Also bought a loaf of sweet bread($1.5) which was very soft and fluffy with just the right amount of sweetness and was gobbled up very quickly!

Although the price point of $5 is higher than other stores around, it's cheaper than a subway or a burger so no complaints there. There is a bit of a line but they're pretty efficient, so you'll be eating in no time.

Roll was really crispy and tasty, but I'm not sure if it is worth the premium to its competitors. I can see why people love this place but personally I prefer to get the $5 banh mi with a milk tea in the centre or the 3.80 ones elsewhere. Definitely worth a try though.

As a regular banh mi eater, I've tried many weird and wonderful rolls across Melbourne. Having grew up in Springvale, I was excited to read that a little place in my old stomping grounds make awesome banh mi. I tried a "nem nuong" banh mi today and was not terribly impressed. Bread was nice and well textured, but the fillings were rather "meh". The meatballs were far too salty. Fillings were a bit "light on" as well. Overall, a good roll, just not great.

Absolutely love this place . Always consistent taste and freshness like no other I have tried in Melbourne. Definitely my favorite choice and when I am in the area I always make a visit. It's very packed during lunch so try to get there 10 min before if you can. Thanks ladies love it.

Best vietnamese rolls in my opinion. Pork rolls are amazing. Lemongrass chicken is good too. Nothing special about the springs rolls but nice snack while waiting for rolls to be made.

Odd occasion I was working in Springvale and was told about these amazing pork rolls on Springvale
road. Decided to give it a go for lunch and I was extremely satisfied.
Best pork roll I've ever had, freshest and tastiest.
Try it out if you haven't already.
