MY CAMBODIAN is a 4 1/2 star shop front casual restaurant which serves up a mixture of food from Cambodia, Thai and Vietnam.

The service is typical of many Asian restaurants were you raise your hand or grab the attention of the staff to order or if you desire anything - all staff were friendly and happy to assist with extra tea, water, containers, drinks etc.

The restaurant restroom was a combined storage toilet and was clean and offered all necessary items.

The group of 14 ate lots of dishes-

Cubed beef no.25 $19- a must try as the beef was so tender and the dipping sauce full of peppery flavour.

Vietnamese seafood pancake no.54 $15 was huge, served with iceberg lettuce, cucumber, mint and an amazing nutty sauce that is to die for.

Spicy chicken ribs no.96 $18 was well worth the money, served with chili, spring onion and garlic- very morish.

Spicy beef sausages no.99 $13 that are similar to Thai beef sausages yet not as spicy (actually they were very mild which was fine and a coarse texture). They were served with delicious pickled cabbage, carrot and cucumber yummy that complimented the sausage well.

We also had Salted fish fried rice no.14 $10 that was eaten alone and used to soak up any remaining sauces. The fish rice itself as a stand alone dish needed more salted fish or soya sauce to add to the true nature of the dish.

Prawn spring rolls and Vietnamese rice paper rolls were also eaten consisting of fresh noodles and herbs. Both were pretty standard yet the accompanying sauces made them stand above the stand dish.

With smiling faces, realistic prices and decent servings, this is definitely a restaurant to try.

Booking recommended.

loved the Phnom Penh noodles. Will be back to try other dishes. Service was acceptable during off peak hours.
Should not be mopping the floor whilst customers are eating.

Points For: authenticity, value

The Phnom Penh Noodle soup is pork and shrimp based, and you can have it with soup or dry. I haven't introduced this to any of my friends who didn't love it. The spring onion, coriander and minced pork work so well together, and it's just a comforting dish.

For more banquet dining, the beef lemongrass soup is traditional, which has tender beef, tripe and morning glory. The flavour is beefy and a little sour.

Can't go wrong with the spicy chicken spare ribs as well, which is essentially fried chicken with chilli, garlic and spring onion.

Pippies with Thai basil, garlic and soy/oyster sauce goes very well with rice.

The rare beef salad is also traditional, with thin strip of lean beef quickly blanched and tossed in a lemon, mustard and lemongrass dressing.

The spicy beef sausages are deliciously moreish (sorry for using that term), but it’s herby, mild, savory with little bits of beef and fat. The casing pops on bite.

The restaurant can get surprisingly hectic during peak times, with both expats wanting an easy homely meal, and Westerners chasing that experience they had that one time they travelled Cambodia.

Well recommended for something different, delicious and good value.

I was pleasantly surprised by the quality and pricing of the food here. It was a busy Sunday morning when I visited My Cambodia. Service was warm and friendly. The menus were full of photos of their dishes which made it easy to order.

We had the Phnom Penh noodles - one dry and one soup. The noodle soup was outstanding. It was chock full of meats and the thin rice noodles were cooked perfectly. The broth was low in MSG but high in tastiness. Unfortunately the dry version was disappointingly dry and had to be drenched in soup. But for $9 a bowl, I really shouldn't be complaining!

I will definitely be making My Cambodia a regular haunt from now on!

We came here to eat as we have always walked past but never gone inside
The place was packed and I was excited ! I was really sad that I was unable to try the beef noodle soup however the Phnom Penh was some of the best I’ve ever tried ! We also got the spring rolls which was ok- literally prawn wrapped in pastry and deep fried and I got the Cambodian soup with ribs - this was a very acquired taste which I am still on the Fence about

My Cambodia’s menu has a little bit of Cambodian, Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai influence. This ticks all the boxes of “let’s have something Asian tonight”. From stir fry to noodles and soup, My Cambodia serves up a storm of flavours. The only average dish I had was the Crab Fried Rice (it wasn’t fluffy and lacked in “wokhei”).
Highlights: Shaking beef and lemongrass beef soup

It was risky choosing to go here as a vegetarian. But I haven't eaten much Cambodian food and felt I couldn't pass up the opportunity to try some in Springvale. There are close to no naturally veg options on the menu, but our waitress advised they could remove meat from some dishes. We opted for the stir-fried rice drop noodles (served with a fried egg instead of meat) as our main starch. The noodles were thick and chewy and didn't have tons of flavour, but we're served with a sweet and slightly vinegary sauce. I'm sure the lack of meat was also responsible for the lack in flavour. But an accompaniment of tofu (sans minced pork) made up for it. It was served with a sauce that reminded me of a rich Japanese curry. The only disappointing dish was the papaya salad, which was chock full of seafood. At worst I've had some similar dishes before with a few dried prawns on top that I could pick around, but this was filled with dried and fresh prawns, fish sauce and little crab arms. It might be nice if you like seafood, but unfortunately it was a pass for me. Vegetarians should be wary when ordering here, but I still very much believe it's worth a try regardless of your dietary persuasion.

Excellent restaurant with a great variety of foods.
Very busy compared to those around it so it would be hard to miss.
Found the dice beef on tomato rice to be great, considered this better than most other places.
However, the rice noodle dish I didn't like too much. Felt this was lacking flavours and nothing special to it.
Service here was nice.

My Cambodia is definitely my favourite place to eat. The Tom yum seafood noodles is my comfort food at all time. Love the taste and everything about it. One of the waiters always remember that I don’t like spring onions or garlic, and he is always make sure I don’t get any of those. Good on him! Overall, nice food and good service. Will always always going back!

You can get a mixture of Cambodian, Vietnamese and Thai dishes here but is the only real Cambodian presence in Springvale. We visited here when the weather turned for the worse and didn't want to wait outside for BBH.

I got their stir fried rice drops, thick rice worms with beef, egg (slightly runny) and some vegetables. It looked oily but it wasn't too bad. It is accompanied with some sort of fish sauce which helped cut the oiliness.

Where they really shine is during dinner service when you can get shared dishes between friends. It's one of the best ways to try a wide variety of dishes and where they can showcase their flavours.

Super cheap average ($10) each plate. Full sized, hearty meals, four types of cuisines (Thai, Chinese, Vietnamese and Cambodian) but I only tried the Cambodian flat noodle cha rau soup and combination broken rice. Both were excellent and I loved the variety of sauces and possible additions with at least four types of chillies. Staff are lovely and accommodating.

Entered this quaint little joint for lunch. We ordered broken rice, special fried rice and a coconut shake. The pork in the broken rice was crispy with good seasoning. Surprisingly, the fried rice was not excessively oily at all! The coconut shake was refreshing. The floors appeared quite dirty. Overall food was good but the cleaniness could do with a touchup.

LIT!: the customer service was prompt! I had the tender beef on rice and the phen noodles dry. Both dishes had big portion sizes and were very tasty. Anddd it was about $10 a dish!

NOT SO LIT: the avocado smoothie had wayyy too much condensed milk in it and not enough avocado considering that they have raised the price of this. I didn't really taste much avo at all.

Not the best Phnom Penh Noodle Soup we tried but probably the best in Melbourne.

We were recommended to try this popular Cambodian dish here at this place so naturally we went there on a Saturaday lunch. The place was a quarter to full.

Luke ordered the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup while Hannah got the dried version. Both were pretty delish. You know that the rice vermicelli were freshly made by their taste and texture. The noodles were smooth and firm. The broth was very balanced and naturally sweet. Some of the key ingredients in the authentic version such as minced pork, fried shallots, and coriander were included. There were tons of other stuff in the bowl - squid, blood jelly, prawn, pork meatball, pork meatloaf which all went well together.

We haven't had the chance to try other dishes yet but so far this place definitely has the most authentic Phnom Penh noodle soup in Melbourne. Service was quick and polite enough.

This place offer cambodia, thai, and viet dishes. Interesting. Tried the dry noodle. It was good however the noodle is abit soft for me. I prefer a lil bit harder version of noodle. The pipih is great. It has that tangy saucy flavour. The papaya salad is great too. Kinda similar with the thai version however the papaya slices are bigger than normally in thai and more watery. Would love to try other dishes next time.

Returned here after a long absence. The cuisine served up here has similarities to both Thai and Vietnamese food, but still seems to have it's own distinct character. This last time I had what I assume is a more classic dish, the Cambodian noodles. It was a bit like pho, except a noodle like thick, round vermicelli is used. The meat and offal used seems to be very similar, as does the colour of the soup, but the flavour of the soup is much less sweet and has a bit less depth to it. It still has that same warm, lifting effect and good tastiness that pho has though. If you enjoy pho and want to try something slightly different for a change, then drop in here. Prices have increased a little over the last few years, but it's still good value.

Sooo many different flavours!! Menu is huge. There is Thai, Vietnamese and Cambodian food.
We had pippies with tamarind sauce - was nice but the sauce a bit runny, need more starch.
Beef lemon grass soup - my favourite!
Fried wontons delicious, generous serving.
Curry chicken also nice.

Would come back - typical Asian place but attentive staff and food quick to come out.

I have always loved this place for their cambodian beef noodle soup, it's definitely my go to dish whenever Im here. A tasty alternative to normal Viet pho, with chinese broccoli and bits of celery for freshness. The sliced beef is always good quality as well. I branched out a little today with the five spice soup, but it wasn't to my taste, with large amounts of tendon and fatty brisket, still tasty, but the soup needed a bit of tweaking and a bit too oily, but I think that's just the nature of the dish. Just get the beef noodle soup and try the fried chicken as well if you're here.

I was surprised that the restaurant takes booking, and thoroughly recommend making a reservation. We arrived a little early and it was already packed with a line for walk ins.

We ordered five dishes and two entrees between the four of us, after asking for recommendations from the waiter. He was very helpful and friendly and the service was surprisingly very good for a smaller local Asian restaurant.

We ordered the rice paper rolls and fried dumplings as entrees and lemongrass beef, spicy calamari, spicy chicken ribs, water spinach with pork mince and crab rice as mains. It was absolutely delicious!! My favorite was the rice paper rolls, spicy calamari and crab rice.

Loved the complimentary orange wedges as a finishing touch to your meal. Unexpected surprise in Springvale and would definitely return.

I like going to My Cambodia. When me and one of my friends go to eat in Spingvale we always talk about going somewhere else but we end up at My Cambodia. Sometimes we see Carl working there and he is very friendly and talkative. We always order the same things as well, she gets the lemongrass soup and I get the Tom Yum. It's the best Tom Yum I've had, although it's not very spicy but I think Cambodian food is meant to be less spicy then Thai food. I have been with other people and tried other dishes as well and I like most of them. We had fried chicken ribs tonight with our soup and they were yummy with crispy batter. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 is because we went here with a vegan friend and they accidentally gave her spring rolls with meat a few months ago. Next time I come to My Cambodia I want to try the preserved lemon soup.

My friend and I decided to dine locally as neither of us were really in the mood to travel far. Compared to its surrounding competitors, My Cambodia seemed to be pretty busy and so we thought we'd give the place a try. Service is prompt and quick (which is not entirely a bad thing except), much too fast when you're having a catch up dinner with a friend. The food was good, nothing to complain about.

The five spice Cambodian noodle soup was surprising really good and my friend found himself enjoying more than expected. I had ordered some vegetarian rice noodle stir fry which was tasty but typically very oily which was no surprise. Staff was friendly and nice in general, despite the feeling that we needed to order, eat quickly and then make ourselves scarce for customers in waiting.

My favourite restaurant of all time.. I cannot describe how happy and grateful I am that this restaurant exists. Now that I no longer live with my grandmother I am constantly craving the dishes she used to make when I was growing up - and the same quality. Although it would be a lie to say that this restaurant has the same quality as my grandmother's cooking it is still delicious, delicious, delicious. And cheap! And the service is fantastic! Also, in regards to the authenticity of the dishes, Thai, Vietnamese and Cambodian dishes are very similar and influence one another alike. For example some people have said that the yellow pancakes and the tender beef cubes are Vietnamese, but my grandmother and mother and etc. are 100% Cambodian and I've eaten both of those growing up. I'd say they're pretty authentic. 10/10, would eat at for breakfast, lunch and dinner if I could.

Penh Friend. In spite of the name, My Cambodia features a menu encompassing not only Khmer but also Thai, Chinese and Vietnamese dishes. I’m often a little cautious when it comes to visiting these multi-cuisine establishments, but I’d heard mostly good things about My Cambodia and an approval rating above 90% on Urbanspoon is generally a reliable gauge.
Wanting to sample something typically Khmer, I selected the Phnom Penh Noodle Soup (Keuy teaw cha kang rao). There’s the option of ordering it ‘dry’ with the clear broth served separately on the side which was my preference.
It’s a hearty dish including thin rice noodles, sliced & minced pork, pig’s blood jelly, pork offal, pork patty & fish balls. It was garnished with spring onion, coriander, fried shallots plus a little sauce/seasoning. For only $8, it was a most satisfying lunch and gratifying enough to make me eager to return for more.

My Asian. Having just spent time in Phnom Penh, I wanted to try the Amok Fish Curry which is probably Cambodia's best known national dish. However, it was not on the menu. The food was Vietnamese, Chinese and Thai. Seemed to be very little authentic Cambodian food, so the restaurant's name is a misnomer. However, the prices are fair, the servings generous and the staff friendly and courteous. Recommended for general Asian food, but not specifically for Cambodian food.

Top quality food. We had relished the food we ate when we visited Cambodia earlier this year. This was a great opportunity to remind us of some of the great flavours we had enjoyed .
