I live locally and every time I've visited, I've never been disappointed! Truly underrated and should deserve more credit! Absolutely delicious! Thank you!

Beautiful food.. Lovely staff and service.
THE BEST FOOD AND EXCELLENT SERVICE. SHARE PLATTER HIGHLY RECOMMENDED
Travelled quite a long way to visit this place upon recommendation, especially for their ox tongue. The food was delicious. However, we made a booking before coming and when we arrived, there was only one waitress working, and she did not realise we were at the door. We decided to sit down ourselves at the table and it took 15min before she brought us the menus, despite us asking her a few times. When she eventually came over she was polite. The restaurant wasn’t fully booked, but more staff would’ve made the experience better as the food was great. Hopefully it was just the odd occasion they had someone call in sick!
This is authentic Thai/Lao cuisine. I grew up eating Thai food (mum is Thai). I have tried many Thai/Lao restaurants since I moved to the Melbourne area and Noi Lucky is by far the best. So much so, that I travel over 40 minutes to eat here at least once a month.
My family and I really like this place and when we crave Thai/ Laos food this is always our first option. We often get a lot of dishes and share. We really like the nam Khao, green curry and pad Thai. Highly recommend
Recommended dish - Kung Sai Nam Pla! I’ve been looking for this dish everywhere in Melbourne and the suburbs ever since I came here, since my partner liked it so much when I took him to a restaurant in Bangkok, I began to think they can’t really sell raw prawn dish here... then found at this place!!! So good, very tasty, real authentic Thai taste. Somtum was the best as well, the price was reasonable and the portion can be for 2-3 per dish. I recommend anyone in the area if you want to have good Thai food, this is the place. Cash only btw
We came into Noi Lucky as it was one of the first times I have ever seen a Laos restaurant in Melbourne and seeing they had Nam Khao on the menu ( Crispy rice salad) I was SOLD! The crispy rice salad was really good but not as good as home . The sour pork skin was a little too thick and the amount of peanuts was too much for my liking.
We also got a sour soup, this was delicious and went down nicely with the rice
Why have I never been here before? This is a Thai and Laos Restaurant and for the first time in melbourne I was able to try Lao flavours with the addition of bamboo sticky rice. The flavours in the dish were so vibrant with a good chilli hit.
Everytime we're in Springvale we always eat Vietnamese food but we decided to try Thai food so i searched up thai food in Springvale on zomato and this place was on the list. With a high rating of 4 i decided to try this place out and it did not disappoint. Service was standard but the food was outstanding. We ordered quite a few dishes as our eyes were bigger than our stomachs lol. Every dish was made to perfection. Balance of flavours were done right. I was nervous that the food would be too sweet but it was just right. The servings were also quite big and generous. The papaya salad was spicy and packed full of flavours. I would definitely recommend this place and will be coming back.
Had a really lovely dinner at Noi Lucky on a cold Saturday night. Delicious and punchy Thai flavours, at a reasonable price, and satisfying portions is what you will get at Noi Lucky. Tried the coconut rice, chicken green curry, beef nam tok (spicy beef salad), and pork Pad Thai. Everything was delicious and spot on for flavour. Really pleased.
One nuisance is that payment is via cash only, so come prepared. Bit of a wait for dine in (20 or so minutes) even with minimal patrons eating in.
Nice little local option though, I'll be back!
So happy to find this great Thai/Lao gem in Springvale. So fresh, perfectly-balanced flavours and good value for money as portion sizes are much more generous than general Thai places. Very happy and will be back for more!
SERVICE: 4/5
I was a little nervous as there were a few reviews commenting on slow service however my experience today was great. The waitress was very careful ensuring our order was right, all drinks/water was provided to the table quickly and our large order of over 10 main dishes came out in a glorious procession within about 25mins or so...was very happy about that! Those grandmas cooking in the kitchen were definitely working their magic.
FOOD: 4.5/5
YUM!!! We eat a lot of Lao/Thai Issan food and I can vouch that the dishes here are 100% authentic. I could tell every person that came in during the Saturday lunch service was a regular and it wasn't long until I saw why. The standout dishes for me were the deep fried whole fish with sweet & tangy sauce (aka "pla sum rod"), prawn pad Thai and the Thai-style papaya salad (som tum Thai). I was so impressed by the variety of papaya salad on the menu, I think there were about 6 to choose from and they all sounded mouth-watering!
We asked for the sauce to come on the side of the fish as sometimes it can make the fish soggy and there were people who just wanted to eat the fish on its own. That sauce was SO well done, I basically dipped everything with it! The big chunks of fresh pineapple through it also added to the addictive sweet & tangy flavour.
Other dishes we had included:
*Chicken feet salad - sounds terrible but the pickled veggies and peanuts through it makes for a dish
*Beef and fish larbs
*Chicken & veggie spring rolls
*Thai fried rice with chicken
*Ox tongue
*Meatball skewers
*Enough sticky rice to last a month
Tip: If you can't handle chilli, best to ask for extra mild. Their mild is still quite spicy.
DECOR & AMBIENCE: 2.5/5
It is a very small restaurant so probably not great if you're looking for a quiet meal. Tables are quite close together e.g. back-to-back seats. It does feel a tad cluttered with lots of images on the wall and an oversized chalk board for specials. However, as soon as the food came out, everything else was forgotten.
I love the Thai food. Must get the ox tongue and pad Thai. Everything else on the menu is great too. Small business that feels authentic Thai
Order: Pad Thai. My favorite pad thai so far! Love the overall balance of taste and amount in the dish. With the extra pan grilled smell makes this a super delicious noodle dish. Highly recommended!
Ducked in for a quick bite before our market shop. The staff were very friendly and patient with our rabble rouser kids. The Som Tam Boo Pla Ra (with salted crab and fermented anchovy) was hands down the tastiest we have had in Melbourne and the very generous serving was a bonus. We will be back to sample more on the menu!
This is our go to spot for flavoursome and authentic Lao/thai food.
This small restaurant is family run and a hidden gem in Springvale.
The menu has a variety of choices to choose from to excite your tastebuds.
We always go for the Lao sausage, fried chicken wings, Lao style papaya salad, nam Khao, or pad Thai.
The taste of each dish is intense and bursting with flavours.
I’d highly recommend the papaya salad.
Prices are affordable and servings are very generous.
Definitely a must try if you enjoy the flavours of south eastern cuisine.
Not bad laos food. Papaya salad was worth getting but the chicken feet salad was a miss for me. Grilled ox tongue was abit dry. Overall good.
Points for: authenticity, value, taste, BYO
This Lao/Thai restaurant doesn't change their flavour to suit an Australian palate. They cook as they would eat, and as locals around Springvale would expect.
As such, they don't waste any time or money on interior decor, so it's essentially a bare bones restaurant.
People are saying service is slow, but it's up to your expectations. It's a small restaurant and family run, so it's like getting your daughter to run the tables. It's perfectly fine with what it is.
The grilled ox tongue is one of the best dishes - don't get squeamish. It's essentially thick strips of beef, juicy on the inside and grilled crispy on the outside, served with a chili soy dipping sauce.
The som tam is refreshing and fragrant from the shrimp paste and fish sauce, but it can get dead spicy (you can ask for mild). Go even more traditional and get the one with preserved crab, which gives the dish a pungent but uniquely salty flavour.
The pad thai is one of the best I've had in Melbourne and slightly on the sweeter side, you also get the flavour from the seasoned wok.
For something different but really tasty, try the nam khao, which is crispy curry rice with fermented pork throughout.
It's a very casual dining experience, so BYO beer/wine and an excellent value dinner is sorted.
I love om
So good best of the best
It hard to find the shop cook like this but this is so good
Thai e sarn
Also papaya salad is great
Larb par dug is good too
Best place to eat in Springvale hands down! We come here once a fortnight it's always great. Service is a little slow and the food does take a little time to come out but it's always fresh and extremely tasty order everything in mild as they do make everything very hot. BYO available. Recommendations off the menu would be the chicken penang curry, mooyang grilled pork.
Instead of the usual haunts in Springvale, we thought it is about time we leave our comfort zone and try some place new. Noi Lucky was the lucky pick.
Not quite sure what to order, we decided to stick to the safe choices. As they have both the Thai and Lao cuisines on offer, we ordered the pad thai, the fried rice and the papaya salad platter. All were pretty good.
The papaya salad was particularly appetising. It opened up our hunger pores and set us down the right paths. The fried rice was fragrant with generous pork slices and the pad thai was not over-bearing in its sweetness like some of the other Thai restaurants we have been to.
The service was a tad slow as there is only one of them at the front. However, it did not ruin our dining experience. Price-wise, they are about 15% above the normal price point of similar food joint in the area.
Overall, we are quite satisfied with the food. If you are around the area and would like a break from your pho, broken rice or chicken rib tomato rice from the usual joints, Noi Lucky is a very good alternative to savour authentic Thai food.
Have been to this place many times with my sister. It is one of go to restaurants in the area as it always leave us satisfied. I do have to admit that it does sometimes take some time for the food to arrive but we always enjoy the food here as it is quite close to the food we grew up eating. The ox tongue and Laos style papaya salad, requested extra hot because it's not right unless it's burning, is a particular favourite and reliable go to order.
After living in Thailand for 3 years its hard ti find good Thai food cooked by real Thai people. As a Lao / Thai mix here I have to say it's the best Thai I've had in Melbourne. Staff are wonderful and happy to speak in English or Thai. Food is authentic and made to suit the real Thai appetite. Spices and flavours on point! Definately worth the travel to get here!!!
I love coming here for Som Tom. They provide closest ranges of Som Tom as in Thailand.
Recommend Thai/Laos dishes. Not sure about Thai dishes as I always order Thai/Laos dishes. It could be a bit too adventurous if you never tried original one in Thailand. Best Som Tom in town. Confirmed by Thai people.
A little Laos/Thai restaurant hidden in Springvale that requires booking in advance to avoid disappointment. The menu is limited as it serves only traditional Laos/Thai dishes, no dessert and limited drink options - no alcohol (BYO only). Nonetheless, the food here is delicious, with a little waiting time and not too expensive for its portion. Definitely the best Laos/Thai restaurant in Springvale.
Soooo hard to find this place! Hidden little gem. Only 3.5 because food takes foreverrrrrr and menu is very limited.
Pork belly was very dry. Noodles were well seasoned. Pineapple fried rice was my favourite.
Great food....extremly slow service.
What a shame!
If the owner could leave the kitchen to check the front she will learn a valuable lesson.
Besides the terrible front of house service the food is really good.
Hope they can improve.
Cheers
One of the better Thai places I've had in a long while. Most recent Thai outings have either been too sweet or accompanying condiments were too tough or just wrong!! And the operators were Thai! Then again the locality should have given it away. Beachside and inner south.
Noi is tucked away in a corner Carpark in Springvale. Was curious bout it's quality due to the crowd hanging outside. Reluctant at first as thoughts of something going down like they do in the movies ran through my head... very strange to have such a crowd in front of a restaurant.
Anyway to the food! Had the semi raw prawn Thai salad. Fried fish. Green curry and Thai fried rice. All were amazingly GREAT! best of all the coconut rice served was not like a desert pudding! Oh the only let down was the fish cake. Kinda reminded me of what I could get from Costco.
Never disappoints. This is all time favourite Laos dishes! Ox tongue, sashimi prawn and crispy rice salad are to die for! Just order plain steamed rice, other rice are not nice
This is a small restaurant hidden in Springvale. The food here is pretty good but usually need to wait a while before the food is out. Give it a try when you are not starving :)
Had wanted to investigate Noi Lucky for some time already, but was a little hesitant given the restaurant is rarely full of patrons. Decided to try my luck one Sunday for lunch and my only regret was not having eaten there sooner. The menu mixes Lao & Thai dishes so many of the items will look quite familiar if you stick to the Thai territory. I was keen to sample some Lao specialties, so ordered the Nam Khao (Lao crispy rice salad with fermented pork), the Grilled Ox Tongue and Om (a traditional Lao stew with beef, vegetables, chilli, galangal and lemongrass).
I've been here many times and I'll be back many times more. This Lao restaurant has the most authentic Lao food you can find in Melbourne (with the exception of Lao family homes). It's the food that keeps me coming back here. I would highly recommend the Nam Khao dish which is a deep fried rice salad.
The ambience is no frills. It is a hole in the wall, but it is clean and simple.
The service is not great but they are humble and polite. It is obvious that it is a Lao family run business and customer service is not a strong point; but they do what is needed - take orders, bring out the food and clean up after you.
I really like this place and it is a good casual eatery. Highly recommended for a no fuss patron.
Not recommended for people that expect high quality customer service and people that can't handle spicy food well.
Great authentic thai / laos cuisine. My wife and I have been here four times now and bought takeaway another three times. The quality of food does not change, it is of high quality and very authentic. We love the fermented pork with deep fried chillies and the ox tongue. Papaya salad is great too and can be quite spicy if ordered with more than one chilli. Service is great and nothing is too much trouble. Bottom line we come here because of the food. Enjoy.
Spot on. Food is better than anything I've had on the six occasions in Thailand. Totally recommend.
Lunch with friends. 4 of us went for lunch great food and service.
entrée and mains all tasted good no complaints plenty of authentic Thai flavours to make you want to go back for more
Hennyburger. My partner and I love this little restaurant and go there frequently. We try to be daring and try new things but always get the Green curry which is one of the best we've had. The prices are cheap so best to order lots of things to give you the chance to sample the variety. Owners are lovely, we'll be back...and back..
Amazing om, try the om delicious food, very clean and very friendly staff
Great food and hospitality. Love the exotic flavours, especially the dill, lemongrass and galangal On stew, best if you want your head blown off by chilli :)
crispy rice salad was great too!
definitely coming back
Amazing. This place is very authentic. we had the om lao stew with beef, eggplant and dill and a lao sesame and bamboo shoot salad with sticky rice. it was so spicy and rugged and exactly like something you would get in lao. I really want to go back soon but I live on the other side of town.
I Should Be So Lucky. Have wanted to try Noi Lucky for some time already, but was a little hesitant given the restaurant is rarely full of patrons.
Decided to try my luck recently for Sunday lunch and my only regret was not having eaten there sooner.
All the dishes were really tasty, generous servings and very reasonably priced. I particularly loved the Lao crispy rice salad with the fermented pork. If you find yourself in the area, I recommend you give “Noi Lucky” a visit and steer towards the Laotian specialties.
Great Som Tam! (payaya salad) My friends and I always come to this restaurant regularly. We are Thai and we really love this cosy place with Thai and Lao food they have here. Strongly, recommend for people who love real food thou :) sometime food might takes time longer than usual please dont be too hungry lol. The lady (which I think she is the owner) is nice and polite. This is like a family restaurant. Again shouldnt miss this place, give it a try :)
Som Tam, ox tounge, Crab Fried rice , Om soup and of course " sticky rice"
Its a hidden little corner restaurant near walrus. i wasnt expecting much from this place and I had take away, I enjoyed it. I ordered green curry and its one of the best I ever had. The pad thai was different but still nice. The curry puffs is pretty average. But this place is worth having a try, i think its a lot better than the other thai places around springvale
Noi lucky is an amazing restraunt i have been to bearly every restraunt around springvale and for sure i would have to recommend noi lucky
Lovely authentic Thai food. Got all the kick you could desire. A quaint little restaurant that is clean and takes pride in its food presentation.
Aarrooyyyy Maak
We have been to our regular recommended restaurant for Thai food but we always wanted to try Noi Lucky and we were over the moon after having such an amazing Thai food.
Om with Chicken ( White sauce - see pics): Pretty tasty and more on a spicy side an amazing green veggies based sauce with cucumber and chicken. Very balanced spicy taste with a good body in sauce and it's not a burst of flavor but good character of all the ingredients they have used in their sauce which is very different.
Kra Pow Gai (Pork with Basil - see pics) : Spot on for your money on this acclaimed Thai delicacy and they make it a bit with lil juicy so that the extraction of flavours can be devoured in that juice, very well cooked and one my my favorite comfort food.
Jasmine Rice : Aromatic and tasty
Thai Fish Cake ( see pics) : What an amazing taste of these entres we had, it had that zing which we expected and the sauce enhanced our taste of fish cake, which surely looked prepared on the spot.
I would recommend this place highly to any Thai food lover and surely you will enjoy the taste they have to offer. Will see you soon again.....Keep up the good show guy's....Arroy Maak
one of the best Laotian/Thai restaurants in Melbourne with a wide variety of dishes. personal favourites include the pork neck, the ox tongue and I usually pick at least one of the eight papaya salads on offer. looks and feels like a family restaurant and service is always prompt and with a genuine smile.
always a good choice for a great homely meal in Springvale especially when not in the mood for pho. pretty much only drawback would be that it's cash only so make sure you're prepared.
This has become our Friday night routine. And every time we come here they always bring us some the best Laotian and Thai food. We love the Tom Saab, Pad Graprao and the Pork Neck. We will try their whole menu and continue to support them. They are excellent!
As far as a Cheap Eats restaurants go this one is very good. If your after table cloths and silver service this is not for you. Top food ,good service and cost-effective, great.
Amazing Thai and Lao food. Flavour was spot on. Very reasonable prices. Will return again.
Having gone to Laos mid year and just returning from Chiang Rai and Cambodia, I was craving a bit of Lao and Thai food. I googled Lao restaurants and Noi Lucky popped up. What really made me visit them was that they served 8 types of Papaya salad. Outside of Thailand and Laos I've never seen that in Melbourne before, so I drove all the way from the western suburbs to try it out.(edit. Have found other restaurants that serve more papaya salad types, still not as authentic though)
The store is a bit small with a no frills design. Tables, chairs and the counter, that was all. There was only the one wait staff but with a store that small it was fine. Service was quick.
Pricing at first glance seemed a little bit pricy but the portions were fairly sized so you were getting value for what you paid. I ordered sticky rice with my meal and selected one of the types of papaya salad. The taste of the papaya was probably the most authentic I've had in Melbourne. The flavours were not dumbed down at all and it came out unapologetically spicy, salty, sour and a little bit sweet. It paired really well with the the sour pork. Try it yourself if you're craving that authentic taste from Thailand and Laos.
