Review Huong Giang - Springvale

Alex King
I rarely give a low stars โญ๏ธ when reviewing but it was an awful experience meal. The chicken wasnโ€™t cooked probably and well, and it was cold and it smells bad. The rice was old and tasted uneatable
Maddy
Great menu variety and the different dishes weโ€™ve tried have all been tasty. The staff are also really friendly and always welcoming. Highly recommend!

Missus ordered delivery yesterday, it arrived in 30minute which is quick, but upon starting the meal, the soup for pho is not even lukewarm, we need to microwave it to heat it up, the beef tendon is unchewable, it's so tough, it's comparable to tyres. Deep fry wanton is only lukewarm, given us the wrong order of curry goat rice instead of claypot curry goat rice with the price different of almost $10 luckily we're able to receive a refund for that and yes, we need to reheat the curry goat as well, and the deep fried crispy chicken maryland with tomato rice, no need to say, the chicken is not crispy at all and just like all the other dishes, its almost turning cold. The worse part is both me and missus stomach are going crazy after the meal and up till today we're still feeling unwell. I dont understand how can a shop that's literally 700m away can get the foods ready and delivered in 30 minute could have such an issue. Never ever again will i patronise myself to this place.

We came in for our dinner and enjoyed much of it. We were greeted by owner who was also friendly. We ordered a Chicken fried rice, Seafood porridge, Fried wonton accompanied by special bean sprouts vegs. We liked the taste as we expected before. Ouch, we didn't take the pic as we needed to rush to go for other stuff. This place is another gem which offers variety of Chinese Vietnamese dishes that you can choose from and a very good for family eating gathering ๐Ÿ˜Š. Can't be happier enough. Surely we'd come back soon for big feast. Value for money and it's really worth spent here. What a great local restaurant you can have in Springvale!

I ordered a bowl of Hue beef noodle (Medium) and was served a very big portion. The taste was authentic and the broth was very rich. They served hot tea as complimentary to every guest. It was a bit crowded when I came but the service was fast and friendly. They offer rice lunch deal for $6 which also looked amazing.

Excellent service, low price but remarkable taste.

Really good food with a lightning speed of service. Also the crew is really nice and kind. We will be coming more

A nice restaurant with a variety of dishes to offer. The staff very very friendly and suggested we try their most popular dish Bun bo hue. The broth was so hearty and had a great flavour. A generous amount of meat and noodles. The crispy beef with vegetables had a generous amount of beef and variety of vegetables with a nice chiffon sauce. The noodles itself were quite dry and hard, not sure how to explain it but it was crisp but not airy.

The only place I would get my BBH fix from! Great attentive service and friendly staff.
Amy Ho-Win
Delicious, authentic Vietnamese food with the best BBH in town!

There are hundreds of cheap restaurants in Springvale competing so there needs to be a point of difference. There are a number of $6 meals and they are excellent value as their servings are sizeable.
Have been here many times and always go for the hiananese chicken with rice. Very nice. Also have had the pork chop with rice. Worth going to if you want a super cheap bite.
Place is very clean and service is friendly.

I donโ€™t get it! 4 star!! WTF!! Soup base is bland and the portion is tiny. It is sooo bland has to start using fish sauce. We had the Cambodian rice noodle and bun bo hue. The round noodles used for the latter was like aldente reminds me of the cheap ones u can buy in bulk that donโ€™t break down.

Anyway ymmv and each to their own!!

WIR?? NOOOOOOOOO
Melanie
Itโ€™s a nice place with cheap price and good food.we ordered Hainanese chicken rice and a chicken pho, they both taste good.the chicken dipping sauce is sweet and good

Was in Springvale and decided to try new Vietnamese dish other than pho, dry vermicelli noodles or pork chop xD. Tried the Bun Bo Hue and was impressed. I had the small size, and I would say it came with a lot of meat: meatballs, pork trot, beef slices, some sausage, and chicken liver. It was probably too much meat for me but obviously guys will love it. I have never had this dish before but it was soo good and refreshing. Remind you a bit of tom yum soup but not as sour. With most pho I have to add chili oil but for this dish, it is flavoursome as it is, no need to add anything. And it was cheap as well.

Recommended by a Vietnamese colleague and I totally loved the bun bo hue as it is not too spicy but full of flavours. Fresh mixed salad to accompany the soup and plenty of meat. Young, energetic and friendly service.

This place has been around for awhile now and this is probably my third visit. One of the cheapest spots in Springvale they've got meals starting from $6.00, perhaps pre-prepared and at a smaller portion to justify to cost. My friend got that as well as an additional pork chop and loved it.

I got their popular bun bo hue dac biet (special BBH) which was decent, you get that lingering shrimp paste aftertaste with each spoonful of soup which was more on the pungent side. I also bumped up the heat with the chilli oil and chillies provided which enhanced the flavour profile. Aside from that you get some slices of beef, beef brisket, spongy cha and pork knuckle to keep your hungry at bay.

Fantastic little restaurant with authentic home cooked flavours. I had the bun Bo hue and my friend had the pho which she absolutely loved. Best of all was the service, the owner gave us a free drink and even would have a drink with us if it wasn't so busy. Cracking job, keep up the good work. Definitely be back again.

Food always amazing! Good luck finding better value for money elsewhere. Will be the only restaurant I go to from now on when I need my authentic Vietnamese food fix. Thanks to the team for such great service and making my family's visits so welcoming everytime. Keep it up!

Amazing food and quality service. Would definitely recommend to everyone. Make sure to try their crispy chicken on rice dish and finish off with their amazing Vietnamese Ice coffee A++

Bloody awesome portions for a bloody great price... you wonโ€™t believe the quality!! 5/5 all the way :P
Only downer is these guys take a day off on Wednesday nights... but that still leaves you with 6 days to enjoy the $6 specials ;)

Fantastic food and awesome portion sizes. The people leaving bad reviews probably need to get their eyes checked and new taste buds.
This is the only place i go to in springvale for authentic vietnamese food.
So far the best bun bo hue i've had in springvale. Really friendly and warming services from the staffs that i received there. Atmosphere is also very welcoming. I'll definitely be back to try all the different varieties they have on their menu especially the 6 dollar menu.

This place is cheap, but the portions are very small and lack taste.ย Someday you get heaps of veggies and other days you get next to nothing as other reviewers have correctly stated.ย I would not come back here again and would warn others what you pay is what you get!
Foodyholic
The food was great when it first opened, but now the spicy noodle soup taste horrible. I think maybe they had a change of staff, but the quality is all over the place.ย It's not worth gambling to see if the chef had a good or bad day. I would recommend another restaurant.

Came here tonight to this lovely traditional Vietnamese restaurant and I have to say we left very satisfied. The meal portions were very generous, the food was very tasty and authentic and the service was great as well. Highly recommend it if you are in the area and looking for a great dinner on a low budget.
Diep Dan
Its famous for spicy beef noodle soup, and it seems to stop there. But, if you crave for that dish, this place is a must try in springvale. However, the meat loaf in that dish is not great
Stephanie Papazois
Very cheap, friendly and quick service. Really liked the prawn spring rolls that came with the vermicelli. They were so flavourful and full of big chunks of prawn.

First time I try this restaurant and it was a big hit!
The pho was really delicious and very generous portion, too! Yum yum yum ๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹๐Ÿ˜‹
Went here for casual dinner. It's a small restaurant, very simple, nothing fancy but nice n clean. We had a few meals to share. Everything was tasty, delicious and came out very quickly. Two wait staff were very friendly and happy to explain things we didnt understand. It's reasonably priced too.
Definitely keen to go back again. :)

My bun was alright but my hubby's lemongrass pork rice dish was very disappointing. He asked to swap beef for pork which they are happy to do. On the plate, there was the standard amount of rice and probably 2 whole onion (I'm not kidding!) with very few slices of pork (amount equivalent of 3 fingers). Definitely not going back!

Best place for a quick, cheap Viet eat in Springvale. Went for the first time, the restaurant isn't anything fancy, it's very cosy and just like a typical classic Vietnamese restaurant setting. The food is pretty good for the price you pay, it's just like a home cooked meal.

Lovely food clean place and good service

...the beef brisket was exceedingly well cooked, unbelievably tender, and simply fell apart and melted as soon as you placed it your mouth. A fantastic choice.

Very quick and cheap. Have been a few times and will definitely continue going. I recommend the Crispy Chicken on rice for a crazy $6!

Great Bun Bo Hue. Had a meal here Thursday night, tried their Bun Bo Hue. From what i can remember of the Bun Bo Hue that i can in Hue a few months ago this is pretty good. Will be going back to try more dishes here and to have the Bun Bo Hue again.

I do believe that they are not open on Wednesdays based on their card i picked up on the night, Open 6 days 9am to 10pm.

$5.00 MEAL IN SPRINGVALE. This restaurant has been selling the $5.00 meals for the past 5 years and they still survive. What does it mean ?

The food is up to the standard and very affordable. I go there very often to have the Bun Bo Hue and the beef brisket with rice for lunch. You can have a small bowl of Bun Bo Hue for $6.00 and that is enough for me.

I cannot complain because where else can you get a decent rice dishes with soup in Australia for $5..00 ? It is absolutely a great value !!!

Terrible food. Worse food restaurant in springvale. I ordered ginger crab noodles, the noodles were over cooked and burned horrible and the sign on the window advertise for $60 special but when I paid the boss said $75 not $60 that was the old price! Wellllll then change to the right Price...don't trick your customers!!! $5 dishes, it's not worth it, you paid for what you get.
Melissa Mel
Awesome bun Bo hue!

Cheap Eat. I love the Crispy Chicken with tomato rice!!! My friend love the beef noodle soup but it's not my favourite. I prefer another restaurant for beef noodle soup. I tried the fried rice before, it was tasteless for me. However, it's still one of my favourite shop for cheap eat, $5 for chicken rice, porkchop rice, lamb curry with rice and etc. If you go alone or two person, do expect to share share table with strangers!!! Go in a group of 4 if you do not want to share table!

$5 meals are a steal. Love the $5 chicken rice and beef stew! great value for money. Had tasty crab noodles here for 50 odd dollars too.
