Review La Festiva - Springvale

Brought my boyfriend here for an intimate birthday celebration. The staff were so helpful and accommodating, we really felt quite content to relax and enjoy our 3 course meals. Extremely well priced and the food was lovely, my only complaint was that my grilled salmon was not crispy enough but regardless all the food was still exquisite. Highly recommend to all.

"Fantastic Italian with great service...." I have been to few Italian restaurants before but compared to them, La Festiva is quite exceptional. Went along to this one with some friends to celebrate a birthday which was a great fun. The food was delicious, modest portions and speedy service which always makes for a better evening. Staff was very efficient, friendly and courteous. All of us were very impressed and definitely be going again.

I came into the restaurant the other day for the first time since the old owner sold the business and to my surprise the interior was well done up. Things were looking really positive from here, that is, until ordered something from the menu. My wife and I ordered a large pizza to share. To my disgust, the "pizza" was probably more relatable to a soggy loaf of bread that had been squashed and left to dry in my 13 year old sons laundry basket. You could tell the ingerdients were not fresh and it seems as though the new owner put all his money and effort into the interior of the restaurant whilst forgetting the main reason people go to restaurants in the first place: the food! Long story short my wife and I were terribly disappointed in the place and shortly after our meal (if you could call it that) the owner, from what I could make out, was hounding us to buy deserts. After multiple refuses he finally headed on back to the kitchen. All in all I think the One Star sums it up perfectly, I hated the experience and needless to say so did my wife.

Best Italian Restaurant in S.E Suburbs. Our Friends bring us here and had great experience after so long time. All the food taste so Yum & Fresh. Definitely will be back soon.

Ordered a Neopolitana pizza and told 10-15 mins for pickup. Arrived on 15 minute mark, made to wait an extra 10 mins. Pizza came out with anchovies... Neopolitana's don't come anchovies. Pizza fell apart upon trying to eat one slice. Never again. Place looks like it needs a good clean.

Ordered some pizza for delivery. I ordered a Mexicana and got a cheese pizza covered in burned olives and nothing else. Very Greasy. Hell, Jessie's Pizza is better.

Great food and great atmosphere! Would definitely come back with family. The pizza was the best I've had!

Ordered mixed fried rice without ham on takeaway. Went home and opened the pack to find extra ham in the rice. They do not care about or listen to the customer's order.

We made a last minute reservation this evening and the staff were wonderful, they accommodated us with a great table and made us feel welcome. The service was brilliant!! Some of the best I have ever experienced, and I have worked in the industry too. The staff were attentive, personable and down to earth. They were extremely helpful the entire evening! The food was delicious, food was fresh as were the ingredients - everything came straight from the kitchen as soon as it was cooked - and you could taste the difference. A wonderful experience all round, can't wait to go back for some of the special evenings!

A year ago my partner and I went to La Festiva and had a pretty average experience. But this time round we were pleasantly surprised. The décor has improved with new chairs that made all the difference to the general feel. Smart move! The food was good. The kids meals were ONLY $5.50 and great serves. The main meals were generous too. I had the large serve of crumbed calamari rings (12) with chips and salad. The crumbs were awesome and different to anything I've tasted before. Could have ordered the small portion with 6 calamari rings because I didn't finish all my food due to the generous size of the servings. My partner was under doctor's orders and we asked for just plain mash potato and grilled chicken (no butter, dairy, fat or dressings/sauces). They were more than happy to accommodate our needs. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. In the end we discovered the place has been under new management since our last experience. Don't be daunted by the lack of patrons on some nights. I recon the business is still trying to recover from previous management. Non-the-less the food is definitely fresh. Some constructive feedback: consider providing larger serves of soft drinks or cans instead of small glasses of soft drinks on tap. Highly recommend it now, specially if you're taking a big family with kids out for dinner on a budget.

A beautiful Italian resturant with friendly staff, fantastic atmopshere and amazing food! We had a lovely afternoon meal with coffee. The chocolate mousse special is a must!!! We'll be back soon :-)

Was very disappointing food was very salty, no soup, the dessert bar near toilet door, Had to go looking for plates to have dinner and then given a plate at counter, no side plates, no salad at all, no music as advertised on Facebook , the DJ came in at 9 and was setting up when most guests were leaving.

Amazing food. First time I've been here and I will definitely return! Such fresh salad, pizza and pasta is the best ever!!! Awesome friendly staff!

My partner and I are currently sitting in the restaurant and have had our dinner and desert and are so pleased with the food and atmosphere that we will 100% be coming back! This is our first time and Our meals we amazing as was the desert. Their live band was awesome and their music was perfect. We really enjoyed everything and we will be bringing others back with us.

I happened to make a visit to this restaurant with some friends may be like two weeks ago and the new approach consequent to the contemporary management style seems to be working well. I admired their friendly customer service and the food was really nice. Especially the MARINARA Pizza is out of the world and enjoyed the dinner buffet as well. Well done and go ahead with the momentum.

I had my first experience bought chicken pasta was very good and well cooked by chef ASIM

My pasta and wife's risotto tasted of uncooked turmeric. We used to eat here all the time but yesterday after ordering realised there are new owners. In any case what's with the turmeric??? It would have been edible if it was atleast cooked.

Currently having a wonderful dinner here, food and service are great And the music is beautiful. Will be back soon! :)

Food was lovely and i had Oysters done the kilpatrick way and they were wonderful. Staff were also friendly....

Very unhappy, went there tonight and were the only ones in there and still waited almost an hour for our meals. Then when they arrived they were very very disappointing.

Had the calamari and lasagne. Meals were so fresh and tasty. Pizza was very nice too. Worth the trip from the west side for a great feed

When Sam used to own this restaurant, this place served the best pizzas this side of Melbourne - airy, thick crust and lots of toppings. Everything was fresh, fast and delicious. Since it has been acquired by new owners, the quality has taken a MASSIVE nose dive. They charge restaurant prices for take away style food - and bad take away food at that. I ordered home delivery and the garlic bread which is advertised as "home made" is actually frozen and reheated, just like all of the other poor quality garlic bread every other pizza shop delivers. To say it is home made is false advertising, and we would never have ordered two of them had we have known this was a lie. The pizzas, which were once so tasty, are now wafer thin with a few toppings scattered sparingly on top. The chips, which are wildly overpriced considering the quality, are soggy. To add insult to injury, our food was late, therefore cold and one of our "home-made" garlic breads was missing from the order (not that it mattered, as we tossed the one we did get in the bin, it was that bad - but I don't appreciate paying for missing food - it happens way too frequently at way too many venues) You had a wonderful opportunity when you bought the restaurant, as it was known for it's wonderful pizzas, but like so many others, you cut corners to save a few bucks and it shows in the quality of your product. Such a shame.

I have never left a review in 46 years but have to for this place. 25 mins waiting only to be told my order had been misplaced. 4 people in restaurant and phone never rang once for orders. Understand now why place was empty.. Only patrons eating in there brought their meal back complaining. Should have taken that as a sign. 40 mins later and still not one customer through the door i got my pizza's if i could post a pic of what they claim were pizzas... Well.... Think hard before you go there.. It was a Saturday night to.. Very disappointed as every time i was in the area i would only go there. New owners really need to look very hard at their service or lack of and the quality of food. Sad as i won't return to risk wasting another $50 on seriously bad pizza

OH HECK NO! One of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Food bland and tasteless. If you're looking for gluten free....please do not eat here. You will be sick for days as I was. These people have absolutely mo idea.

Got here by using the near me option and the bright red caught my eye straight away, I wanted something little and I wanted it my way so I got a margarita with bbq sauce and a lemon lime bitters and I'm blown away! <br/>It was great food and il surely be back to have a full meal! Keep up the great work 👍

What a pleasant surprise this place was! Italian options are available, but the second half of the menu is Sri Lankan, and considerably better priced at that. <br/><br/>My husband had an Italian veggie pasta in tomato sauce (about $19), which was plain and just what he was looking for that day. <br/><br/>I had Sri Lankan rice, which was served with an omelet, 3 vegetable curries and a bit of spicy red pepper on the side (about $12). It was absolutely delicious. If I'd known this restaurant served Sri Lankan food, I would've come here much sooner.

Service was slow and the place was empty, ordered spaghetti bolognese and it tasted awful and I swear it was reheated. I couldn't eat the disgusting mess so I walked out.<br/><br/>If you can't get this dish right that would explain why the place is dead, avoid if you enjoy good food.

New menu? Great food. Ive been here a few times and menus now is different so i tried the chef special chicken burger best chicken burger ive had a single breast piece grilled was nice a moist with a great coleslaw a must try and also the chef special pepperoni pizza was great not too oily base was thin but not too thin i give that a thumbs up too

Worst place to have food. food tasted really bad and frozen. when asked for ownwer he just blamed the manager. he was a big flirt and trying to ask contact details from my girlfriends sister. why not us? place was empty and now I know the clear reason. salad seemed to be used from last week. will never go back.

Seriously.... No.. Where to begin?<br/><br/>Its always a bad sign when you arrive at a large restaurant with lots of tables to find two other patrons there. Given it was a Tuesday night, but still? <br/><br/>We had 2 Groupon vouchers, so four of us dining. We arrived 15 minutes before our companions and to save time, placed our order at the same time as the drinks order. Told the waitress this would save time for when our friends arrived. First mistake. Our order was then processed and our first course arrived just as our friends arrived, and thereafter we were two courses ahead of them throughout the evening. I will give that the waitress was very efficient, but really? Its not how a night out with friends at a restaurant should go.<br/><br/>The oysters Kilpatrick were OK. I don't know if they were extraordinary good or bad, but tasted ok to me. The second course was was a choice of 2 prawns, 2 calamari or 2 salt & pepper squid EACH! This tasted OK, but anyone can fry that sort of stuff and really, 2 pieces?<br/><br/>Main course was steak which was to be shared between two. It was advertised as eye fillet but when it came to the crunch, they offered one eye fillet and one porterhouse. It appeared that was all the steak they had in the restaurant. One couple had one, the other couple the other steak. And this was shared. Its the first time I've ever had to share a steak and seriously, its not practical. Steak was nothing special. Tomorrow I will cook steak in my Webber and it will taste much better (and I don't consider I can cook steak).<br/><br/>Dessert was again shared and a choice between Red Velvet Cake and Chocolate Cake. We chose one of each and shared between the four of us. Sadly these cakes were probably fresh A WEEK AGO. They were the driest cakes I've ever tasted.<br/><br/>Dear proprietor. If you're wondering why your restaurant is empty - the above is why.

Had "Eat all you can pizza". Voucher deal - pizza was really good! 4 of us, we had 5 pizzas: 2 x Meat Lover, 1 BBQ chicken, 1 Aussie & a Margerita. Loved it!

Superb !. A place where you are 100% satisfied with the excellent food catered as well as great customer service. I was personally quite pleased with the customer service, the chef went above and beyond to put the most perfect smile on my face. I would highly recommend this restaurant, specially to those who are quite precise in their eating matter !!! I come from an cultural background and I must admit the chef made an excellent effort to meet my expectations. I will definitely be back :) :) You do an amazing job, keep it up

Went to La Festiva last night with a Surf and Turf Voucher from Groupon.Have been to La Fedtiva numerous times before with previous chef and owner Sam. Thought we would try new owners, entrees average steak terrible! We ordered one well done and one medium- medium was medium-rare and well done was rare! Sent the rare one back so as hopefully to get a well done one but the next one came back the same! Dessert -the voucher says a number of different choices-of course only tiriamisu was available! What a surprise! The waitress was apologetic -shame the chef or owner didn't have the integrity to come and explain why the steaks were not up to what most people would expect Won't be going back !

Came here for all u can eat pizza with Groupon voucher and all 5 pizzas ordered were delicious. Light and crispy

Fingerlicking delicious food.....Yummy. No doubt food has great taste and awesome service. I enjoyed the overall ambience of the restaurant with nice presentation of the food and the personal attention given to each customer in the restaurant. Enjoyable Evening.... We went to La Festiva recently for an evening of Pizza and weren't disappointed, so much so that one of our group who dined made a booking for his upcoming birthday after the meal, the food was of high quality the new owners and staff who have recently taken over the restaurant friendly fun and attentive, we will be sure to go there again! :)

Fantastic Pizza!. The staff were friendly, the atmosphere was great, but the food is what sells this place.. It was some of the best pizza I've ever had! No matter which toppings you choose, you're in for a fantastic meal! :)

Amazing food and best prices. Have been there a couple of times, really amazing food and great service. Food was served quiet quickly and was very well presented. To be honest look sa bit old from outside but very fresh and lively from inside. love the mains, p[ortion sizes are really big and good quality. Delicious cakes and desserts too. Would definitely go back more often.

Good food, poor service. Been here a few times, it's a bit hit and miss with the service but the food's always good. Waited over 30mins for pizza the other night and they weren't even that busy!!

Amazing pizzas - best I've had! Fresh and delicious pastas! Great to see and Italian place that isn't overpriced and extremely great food. Highly reccommeded. Great mid week dine in specials also!
