Review Vita Et Flores - Springvale

Plus 10 for large salad and 5 for ice latte! What a decent, chill cafe! No more crazy garden cafe extra charge! Will come back!

Great place to have a quick cup of coffee and the staff are nice

Well, it is in the middle of a cemetery, so peaceful it certainly is! The surroundings are magnificent gardens are immaculate and a very relaxing and contemplative environment. The food and service is of good quality. (Don't know how this sits but on a good day would be a nice place for a light lunch any way.)

We enjoy a coffee & cake with a friend at Cafe Vita every Wednesday. Excellent service, food and prices. Beautiful garden setting. We often walk amongst the flowers and trees afterwards.

A peaceful and pleasant setting. The Cafe is well run and has good food. A welcome place to rest while paying respects to a loved one.

Good food in a calm atmosphere. The salmon was very nice and crispy.

I love Cafe Vita. Great food. The jazz is always great and it is a lovely way to brighten a visit to loved one's graves. We often go for a glass of wine or coffee and food before going to my dad's grave. The cafe is always lovely and staff so helpful. Now we have a small child again, sitting outside by the playground was great for our 3 year old.

What a beautiful place for coffee or a meal! The menu is excellent and reasonably priced. Peaceful in the gardens, no traffic, modern, spacious and open, fragrance of fresh flowers waft in from the adjacent florist.

Beautiful modern interior with a variety of seating options from standard tables and chairs to large comfy couches and a log fire as well. There was also a outdoor area as well.

We only ordered flat whites to take away which really hit the mark.
The worst cafe experience ever.

On Tuesday August 1st we after visiting my daughters resting place we went to the CafĂ© Vita et flores – Springvale at the Springvale Botanical Cemetery. We ordered tea, coffee and two serves of scones, jam and cream. It appeared they were catering a large group in the corner. Our drinks arrive and we finished them and our cups were removed. Twenty minutes after this I gave up waiting and re-entered the queue to be told they were very busy and the scones arrived. They weren’t hot so why not just give them to us with our drinks? One bite and I left mine my wife was very distressed refusing to even try hers and the lady clearing up told us again they were very busy.

What annoys me is that people from the large group kept getting up and ordering items that were delivered immediately. They should close if they are catering a private function.

Tom Farrell

tfarrell@dkc.net.au

Advertised as Gluten free options....told on the day we have nothing gluten free in my kitchen by kitchen Head.

Please revise your menu and website as it is dishonest. No one should be left meal free as a salad is an easy option for Gluten free for Coeliacs. Totally disgusted.

Nice atmosphere; lively and clean. We did not wait long for our table and service was efficient. my fellow guests seemed very happy with their meals. Cute location and easy to get to via tram or car. Would return if I was in the area or craving good paleo options.

Very warm, lovely staff service. It was sweet how they were handing out helium balloons for children.
Fireplace available on the season, and a large, comfortable space both inside and out.
Minimum EFTPOS is $10.
Food was okay, nothing bad to say; coffee is okay too, I don't expect to drink anything strong if I visit this place. This cafe complements the area as a relaxing, beautiful place to remember loved ones.
The one-way roads around the cafe can be a little confusing especially on busier days.

CafĂ© Vita et flores which is Latin for ‘life’ and ‘flowers’ is a modern cafĂ© with pale timber finishes, concrete polished floors and comfy seating zones. There is also an adjoining florist that has a beautiful display of freshly cut flowers. An alfresco area, herb garden and children’s playground surround the cafĂ©. The Mediterranean inspired menu designed by French chef Jean-Philippe Kerstenne has a great variety of dishes and is very well priced.

Good food but pricey. I had the tandoori chicken pie. It was tasty but at $8 it was on the dear side. The sticky date pudding was great and better value than the dry muffin at $6.
Great service and lovely venue.

I had breakfast here. It all sounded good but our eggs were over cooked. It was most disappointing for the price.

Been wanting to have lunch since it opened (mid-march 13). Tried 2 x beetroot arrancini's and the pumpkin soup. Fresh with a heavy garlic base, ginger and chilli... Awesome. Chef let us try the choc mousse in a little sample cup. So sweet! Well done. Looking forward to the weekend breakfast menu soon!
