As an Indonesian, I think the food is so good!! I had ayam rempah and I love it. Sambal was perfectly spicy. I was missing Indonesian food and I am happy that I can get authentic Indonesian food here! I ordered it for delivery. Es cendol was also so good. I will try their other menu too. I recommend it so much.
Kedai Kampung is emulating its brand. Just like a foodstall in an Indonesian village (kedai di kampung), it serves delicious Indonesian food with reliable service (friendly and generous), value for money. Eat-in area is not too big, but sufficient and clean. We’ve tried its nasi goreng (generous serving), ikan bakar (good size, better have it there in the resto) and yummy ayam bakar. Also highly recommended is the selection in the dessert and side dishes menu. My favourites are: tahu isi (stuffed tofu), singkong goreng (fried cassava) and es cendol. KK serves authentic Indo delicacies just like how they make it in Indonesia - but better. The take out service during the self quarantine period is equally reliable. Thank you, KK, for making it possible to have this menu in Melbourne.
I love my Indonesian food (being married to an Indonesian I have to) and this place does not disappoint! Don’t be put off by the appearance of the restaurant as the food is delicious and authentic. Highlights that I have tried so far are the ayam bakar and pisang goreng. I’ll definitely be back to try more and I’m so glad I have such nice food so close to my house. Give it a try - Indonesian food is a highly underrated cuisine in Australia and these guys do it super well!
First time trying Indonesian food at this restaurant so i was hesitant at first but i found the service was warm and friendly. The fried chicken with rice was very good value for money, it tasted awesome too. I loved the sambal sauce, it's quite spicy like it should be. Will definitely return to try other items
I don’t usually leave ratings or comments for restaurants but this place provided exceptional service for me and my friends tonight.
Great food, exceptional service and super budget friendly!
Keep up the good work!
Natasha who served us today was friendly and polite too :)
I am one happy customer!
Delicious food. Very good behaviour. We had beef ribs and grilled chicken. The amount of food was very decent. The taste was amazing. Grilled chicken was sooo good. We ordered teh tarik as well, which was basically from a ready-made sachet and it costed $4. That's the only thing we didn't appreciate. Also the sambals were really good. 👌🏻
Had Lontong Pecel (rice cake with peanut sauce salad) and Tahu Isi (tofu with stuffed vegetable), its Vegan dish and it is the best lontong peanut sauce dish as no other indonesian shop sells this with a tasty peanut sauce, veggies, tempeh, and tahu. And then we got a bonus super delicious Panada pastry (Manadonese) which is super good! This Panada should be in the menu as well. My friends ordered Ikan Bakar (grilled fish) with sambal and Ayam Rempah (Spiced Fried Chicken) and everyone finished all happy as. The Es Bandung sweetness will wash away the spicyness of the sambal. This place is a godsend. Will be a regular here for sure.
My favorite Indonesian restaurant among others in Melbourne. The foods are great and so authentic. Ikan Bakar and Iga bakar are great and tasty. The bakso is delicious and better than other indo restaurants in the city.
This place isn't so flashy looking but I can tell you the food is very flashy. The grill'd fish is delicious! Its a 15min wait but its worth it as the flavours were so strong. It was well priced and great value for money
