My favourite BBH place on the Westside .. these dishes are amazingly delicious aswell.. we had Combination Stir fry pho noodles, pippies in xo sauce and of course had the Chinese donuts with it.
We are usually eat here every time we shop in St. Albans.
It’s a pretty cosy and decent place to eat Vietnamese food.
This is the place I go to every time I want black bean sauce chicken and beef stir fry on rice.
But that’s about it, everything else I tried is a bit bland.
The service is fast pace and quiet.
But I’ll still go here for this black bean sauce. Great food.
Edit: the Bun Bo Hue is pretty good.
One of the best pho I tasted in Melbourne. The broth have deep flavours and tasty. The portion also very generous. The dry noodles are a little disappointing compared to the pho. Noodles are too chewy (undercooked) and they messed up our order but didn't admit it.
I come here every time I'm in Melbourne, purely for their Bun Bo Hue. The broth is so tasty and full of flavour. I haven't found any that come close to their flavours. Service is average but I go for the food!
The best BBH in Melbourne - the broth is so flavoursome and their chilli oil is super tasty! I can't comment on other dishes as I travel to Song Huong solely for their BBH.
Song Huong Restaurant 'The Cambodian Rice Noodle Soup' this soup is incredible quite simply the best Asian noodle soup I've ever had in my entire life.
Depending on when you come here will shape your experience. I've had some of the best and worst experiences with food here. Though, generally nowadays they're a bit more consistent.
The main item they serve here is the Bun Bo Hue. And it's probably the one you can't go wrong with. Other than that, there are some other noodle and rice dishes which on the whole aren't bad. The bun bo hue uses a soup base which had tastes great, but the noodles are the star, and no matter the size they give you lots. The beef is lightly seasoned and works well with each other item- the fish balls and the pork blood to give you the full viet experience.
Another dish worth noting is the salted fried chicken. Also one of the more consistent and stellar dishes. Very good and juicy, normally no problem here.
It's only the occasional day you might find yourself the staff are bit lacklustre in their serving, and in turn this can be tasted when the dishes fall a bit flat. Though, if this place can find a bit more consistency in its presentation (and freshness in the greens it serves) it could very well be one of the best vietnamese restaurants in the west
This is a restaurant that I always go to. I eat here nearly every week and it's so delicious and affordable. I always get their special dish which is the spicy beef noodle soup. The flavour is rich with a spicy kick. I love it!
Feels like home. The braised pork, water spinach and hot plate beef were really really good. The waitor was funny and helpful. Portions very generous. Would definitely come back!
Been here a few times with my friends and the food never disappoint us. We ordered a bun rieu and their specials of the day crispy duck noodles and they were delish. Service was prompt and good.
Love the Goat meat hot pot, the accompanying veggie and noodles. The grilled squid in XO sauce recommended by the staff was alright. We also had the three coloured dessert. The staff was busy and forgot one of the dish we ordered. But it was for the better because we were pretty full for four people.
Had the bestest lunch in along time everything fresh hot and delicious...alot of vegetarian dishes and seafood. We will be back, prawn spring rolls, pipis and fried bread, beef pho.
Their chicken pho is generous in sizing and the broth is sweet and comforting on a cold day, chicken is tender and marinated well. I much prefer their beef pho but this was lovely as well. Service may need a little more improvement, they were not really attentive even when the place wasn’t busy.
One of the best pho I tasted in Melbourne. The broth have deep flavours and tasty. The portion also very generous. The dry noodles are a little disappointing compared to the pho. Noodles are too chewy (undercooked) and they messed up our order but didn't admit it.
