My absolute favourite Melbourne venue, the view is unreal the staff are great and the food and drinks even better. I’ve had a number of functions here from casual to formal and it caters for everything! Highly recommend to anyone. Sunday arvo’s in summer are the best.
We have visited a few times and the food has never let us down we have enjoyed the ambience in the environment and the staff have always been attentive I really would recommend a visit 👍
What a place! The walk may seem far but when you are greeted with outstanding food, countless drink options and a sensational view it is well worth it. Definitely a place to make memories at.
This place is unbelievable. Perfect location and setting on the water, the food is amazing and the staff and service is exceptional. Highly recommend for an event or just a sunday afternoon drink.
Fantastic food, excellent service, great drinks choice, atmosphere is glorious and the view is to die for. This place is highly recommended if you want to escape the hustle and bustle in the city to a harbour retreat for food and/or drinks.
I would definitely recommend this place, the staff were friendly, the food was delicious and stunning views of Melbourne Skyline and St Kilda Pier.
Had my 30th bday celebrations here and I could have not asked for better service. Amazing food and a setting to die for. Highly recommended.

Nicole and I wanted to say a massive thank you to Paul and all the Little Blue staff who made our wedding so wonderful. You were so flexible with the food options to bring together a brilliant vegan menu. The set up looked fantastic and exceeded our expectations.
The view on most days is enough to warrant the 5 stars! After a recent function we attended there, the staff & food were both on par with the spectacular views
I walked in because I had no wifi... I hoped so much for it but thought they might don't have any as it's located a bit further than the main land (walking distance thought and worthy). It was important for me to have it as I needed to catch up with some friends in Melbourne. The place from the distance looked just so amazzing that I did not want to miss the chance to get there. Wifi done, I enjoyed a nice and resonable meal and a great view from a table outside as well as a nice little talk with a girl from Southampton... the City of the Spitfire . This place certainly made my day .
The best place to relax while drinking a glass of wine or a coffee with friends watching the beautiful sunset !!!
A group of us went for a walk along St Kilda shore and found the Pier with this lovely little building just had to stop and have breakfast. Rest breakfast and view.
Best venue, best staff and best view!!!!!!🙌🙌🙌👌👌👌
Steak night was great, brilliant atmosphere, great food, reasonable price. I was served by a very cheerful waitress named Laura. Would rate 8/8
Amazing food, friendly and attentive service - and toasty warm on the outdoor deck under the heaters. Can't recommend it enough.
Had a nice breakfast, lovely meal, nice spot I come back everytime I'm down
I tried the French Toast Fruit Loaf from their new winter breakfast menu and was not disappointed. A must eat for anyone craving a sweet treat for brunch, and a must visit location for anyone in Melbourne!
Had the Avocado Dukkah Toast at little blue today it was absolutely amazing. Would definitely recommend going and enjoying their new menu, lots of vegan and vegetarian options.
I absolutely love this place! The view is more than enough to win you over but the live music, the service and best of all the food! Everything I’ve ever eaten has been tasty and fresh. Good work team you’ve got me for life :).
A beautiful place by the bay on the pier. The finger foods are great. They serve a forsa alchohol with rum and vodka which is worth a try. Their hand made cakes are good too. For the time you get to spend there, the dinner platters are also good. Friendly staff and good crowd.
After watching the Penguins return home after sunset, we went to the Little Blue restaurant. We could hear live music from this place and wanted to check it out. Amazing view coupled with one of the best Fish & chips I've had I Australia and Lattes, it was a great night.
Came here for brunch one morning, the scenery is very nice as it’s on the pier. The staff are nice, the food is good and reasonable portions. It’s a nice place to start the morning.
Out Breakfast hankering lead us here. Great views and the oceans tranquility are its highlights for me. Plus set in a historical moly restored building is pretty cool to boot.
Our two menu preferences were the Eastern eggs and the Charred Corn Rosti. I never had the chance to try the Rosti as Mr Go-Go devoured his meal so quickly! None the less both dishes were presented with so much colour and pizazz (my favourite part of eating out). I enjoyed my Eastern eggs. However, the descriptive “roasted nuts” were just your basic peanuts, almonds or pistachios would of made the dish that little bit more. The pitta served with the Eastern eggs was slightly oily but made for a good edible spoon, helping me to savor the yummy hummus below my eggs.
We will definitely return, the sweeping city skyline views, chilled out vibe and good selection of colourful plated dishes. Are the biggest draw cards for Little Blue.
Superb location, with views of the bay. Best to go around sunset on a calm, cloudless day to get the best ambience.
I had the fish and chips, and enjoyed it immensely. We were a party of 8, and everyone was happy with their meals.
The only complaint I had was that the service was very slow.
We were fortunate enough to be there when the penguins came in from their daytime fish-hunting in the bay, to waddle up onto the pier, past the intrusively curious humans, to find their cubby-holes amid the rocks, and sleep for the night.
Had amazing dinner and drinks last night at little blue.
Great shared dishes, drinks and service.
And the walk back down the pier helps the guilt of eating far too much.
Would definitely recommend.
We had a couple of drinks, sitting outside in the sunshine. Looking out on the boats next to the restaurant and Melbourne in the distance. The waitress was very helpful and friendly yet professional too. Nice touches - bunches of flowers and herbs, scented candles and diffuser in the bathroom etc. We would like to return to try out the food now. Very good first impression.
I went to Little Blue last week & it was fantastic ,it was warm inside, the service was excellent, the atmosphere was calm & relaxed & the food was absolutely delicious, probably my new favorite restaurant.
I actually went there by chance I walked down st kilda pier to see if I could see the penguins, I did, but it was cold so I just thought I stop in to get warm with a nice coffee, but I smelt a beautiful aroma coming from the kitchen & I decided to order a lunch, what a great decision that was.
So I urge you to check out little blue even when it is cold a rainy this restaurant will surprise you. 10/10
To everyone at Little Blue thank-you
My compliments to the chef
Went for lunch today. Location is exceptional, staff are attentive and the food was delicious. Could easily spend hours here soaking up the atmosphere.
A hidden Gem With the best Bloody Marys.. Our Sunday breakfast turned into Lunch & then all afternoon.
One of the Best Bloody Mary's I've had!
Such an amazing Spot...
And the Sunsets are crazy..
Thanks to the Little Blue team for a wonderfull Afternoon.
We will be back....
At the end of the pier is a little restaurant named "Little Blue" so called because of the colony of 1000 little blue penguins nearby. It was a gorgeous day and a perfect setting for brunch.
What a hidden gem. I strolled down to visit the famous little blue penguins and stumbled across one of Melbourne's best kept secrets- Little Blue Reataurant! All I can say is WOW!
Firstly, the view- absolutely breathtaking. We sat at the bar over looking the water, the marina and the city views. We were only going to stay for a coffee but after a glance at the menu this all changed.
We shared the slow cooker octopus and the tempura king prawns which were to die for, we nearly ordered a second portion of the prawns but opted to try something else to share so we got the Kale salad with pine nuts! The ingredients were so fresh and tasty and the meal left us comfortably and nicely full.
We couldn't possibly fit in a dessert- but I am making sure I will return for dinner in the New Year. I can't believe I had never been to Little Blue before and it is an absolute 'must try' for anyone visiting St Kilda! Such a beautiful magical and romantic setting, and we overheard you can rent out the venue for a function! I need to start planning something because it would be an ideal setting!
1. Stunning views
2. Delicious food
3. Friendly staff
4. Comfortable atmosphere
5. Great coffee
I'll be back.
Got a coupon and got a great deal. Went for breakfast and were allowed to chose anything from the menu plus either a juice or coffee. I ordered eggs Benedict with ham. Lots of hollandaise and very tasty. My husband ordered baked eggs. He said it was very tasty. Service was excellent and very accommodating and helpful. Although a awfully cold day nice view overlooking marina. Will definately go back in summer.
Beautiful food and service.. Thank you Peter and your wonderful staff. The service and food you provide is fantastic!!
Gorgeous breakfast overlooking the water at St Kilda. We had a voucher which we used this morning. After a walk along St Kilda Pier, stopping along the way to admire the starfish in the sea, we arrived and were warmly welcomed into Little Blue. Things just got better are the morning progressed. We had the Big Breakfast and everything about it was delicious including the toast. The tea and the coffee were excellent. All the staff were warm and friendly and are an asset in this lovely place. We were seated at a table that the sun was falling on and it was wonderful to look out at the sunshine (on what was a fairly chilly morning) and take in the magnificent view, We've already booked to go again; LOVED it.
Why did it take me so long to finally try this place out?. Sunday brunch adventuring in our area of St Kilda & finally gave this place a go using their groupon deal. Delish. Smashed Av w side of mushroom & chilli has become my new fave local brunch. Great friendly service and perfect view of the boats & Melb city.
Great evening. Lovely restaurant for an evening meal surrounded by the water and with views of the city skyline at night. Delicious food and great service, would definitely recommend Little Blue.

Popcorn. I'm not usually one for sweets, however the chocolate, peanut butter and caramelised popcorn icecream was a standount. Coupled with the perfectly cooked lamb salad and chef's tasting plate(which is always hard to go past), nothing short of a wonderful culinary experience really - Fantastic service too!
Perfect in every way!. We had a gorgeous lunch some weeks ago and then a function the other afternoon/evening. On both occasions, the food was amazing, the staff were really friendly and attentive and the venue was beautifully decorated. Views of the bay and the city were the icing on the cake! No matter what the occasion, or the time of day, or even the weather, I would thoroughly recommend this lovely restaurant. If you are local, you will go back many times (the menu is large and varied); if you are a visitor, you can even see the penguins from here at dusk.
Little Blue. What a great restaurant friendly and helpful staff great breakfast menu loved the breakfast value for money would go back but just remember the long walk up the pier but worth it!! Thank you also little Blue for our great time there
Great brekkie. Came for breakfast with a voucher. Had the Eggs Royale and Little Blue Brekkie, both with poached eggs. Alongside this we had a glass each of freshly squeezed orange juice. Both meals were excellent and the juice was a very nice generous serving. Service was really quick. Not only is it a great location with excellent views, but a good place to eat too.
Great food and great views. We had tasting plate and the honey saganaki and soft shell crab were amaze balls with a couple of Vinos. Friendly staff and views were beautiful. Will definitely be back
Perfect Father's Day lunch, spring sun, yummy good, nice wine, good service- couldn't ask for anything more
I liked the service, location, menu & presentation although my poached egg was extremely hard and not runny like how they should be. Sweet potato has was way over cooked too & chipped like a brick trying to cut it & was served cold. :(
Rancheros is a unique menu idea although it lacked flavour...
Coffee was great & served nice & hot!
Had a scoopon voucher so didn't complain but if I had to pay $17.50 I would of. I would go back as the view and service is good but not in any hurry.
Love, love, loved it! Best breakfast ever, lovely staff, quirky location, original menu (sweet potato hash brown with hollandaise and poached egg YUM!). Will definitely be back!
Weekend brekky Heaven!. We had a voucher for brekky and were sooo totally impressed with everything about this gorgeous little restaurant. Coffee was great, food superb, and service A1. All this coupled with a gorgeous warm table in the sunshine overlooking probably THE best view in Melbourne. We shall definitely be returning for more gorgeousness! Thank you Little Blue. :)
Great food and atmosphere, beautiful scenery, staff are very friendly can't wait to go back
Heard some great stuff about little blue but nothing could prepare me for the exceptional food that followed! Wow!
I had a share plate of soft shell crab, squid, arrancini balls, salt cod and much more all of which was divine!!!
The service so friendly and welcoming! 10/10 so much so I have changed my wedding venue to there! Very impressed!
Great Views!. We got a voucher for 2 all day breakky menu juice or coffees. it was terrific. we ordered the blue special with bacon, chorizo (delish and the real deal) tomatoes spinach mushies on a plate bigger than bert newton's head. it was yum. the service was terrific with our waitress just lovely. the view is spectacular particularly today with the storm coming in. the coffee was great and they were happy to supply tea instead of juice. what a great location. my only quibble would be that the bathrooms were using 1 ply and need a bit of a tidy up and coat of paint but minor issue given the vibe of the place, the great food and service and the views! will most definitely go back! highly recommend.
I had the most amazing experience at little blue! It was so cozy and great service! The food was rustic, hearty and so yummy!!!! It's one of my favourite places to dine with my mates would highly recommend!
Ive shared many a Sunday afternoon long lunch with family and friends.. Sitting out on the deck is beautiful and the food and service couldn't be better!
Love it! Have had a couple of functions here and have never had a bad experience.. Food is great and staff and always friendly and helpful. Recommend highly to anyone for function or even just a bite tot eat.
Beautiful brekky by the Water!. We walked the pier to enjoy brekky by the water. The breakfast surpassed any expectations I had. Good quality food from the porridge to the little blue breakfast, french toast & sweet potato hash browns. Staff friendly and attentive. Colouring brought out for the children. Clean toilet facilities. Beautiful warm gas heater to sit near during Winter. A great little restaurant in a great area :)
We had a fine meal here on a Sunday lunchtime. My duck risotto was fab and my partners fish and chips were spot on. The staff were attentive the wine good and the price more than reasonable. With a setting like this and the food of a high standard I'm surprised it's not more popular.
A BIG THANK YOU! :) 10/10!. I attended my sisters wedding reception at this venue on Sat night and just want to say how impressed I was with the excellent service! The food was great and all of the staff were extremely polite and willing to go the extra mile!
I will definately be making another visit when I back down in Melb in May.
Thanks again, Reece/Rhys and his wonderful staff! 10/10!

Little Blue Pure Bliss. Had our wedding reception at Little Blue last night and could not fault it. Gorgeous scenery, Fantastic food and exceptional service. I highly recommend to anyone wanting something different from the usual reception venues. Compliments to the chefs and the following people, Rochelle, Rachel,Tim and the lovely Rhys(hope I have all your names right) :)
Yummy. Walked down with my besties on sunday afternoon and heard the music on the deck so we stopped for a wine or two. What a beautiful place. The guy on guitar was great , the view amazing and the staff fantastic and friendly. Not stuck up or pretentious like a lot of other places along the beach. Decided to have something to eat whilst relaxing in the sun so we shared the slider plate and the fish tacos and the green chillies. WOW... the pork slider was like heaven in my mouth and the Tacos the best Ive had in years! And the tempura chillies absolutely moorish .This place is such a great little St Kilda secret with amazing views , terrific atmosphere and great food.
My New sunday hangout :)
Had dinner at little blue last night... I had the sizzling plate and my friend had the steak both were delicious... The service was outstanding helpful with a smile... Stunning views will definitely be back loved it!
Booked in for dinner At little blue for valentines with my girlfriend when we got there the restaurant was set up beautiful with white table cloths and red roses placed in the middle of every table. We were greeted and sat straight away by a lovely girl. Our table was great looking over the water towards the city. I ordered the spaghettini with crab for entree and my girlfriend ordered the scallops with corn purée they were both delicious! For main I had barramundi and my girlfriend had the snapper both again were delicious! All around the service was impeccable and the food was great we will definately be going back!!
Lovely place, friendly staff, great coffee, excellent all day brekkie on the weekends. Will be back to have dinner and watch the penguins this summer! Apparently you can see them from their deck seating area
Brekkie Sat 23/6/12. Having been for a swim at St Kilda Sea Baths I had worked up a appetite and decided to try out this restaurant for brekkie. Service was good on arrival welcomed with a warm smile from the waitress, sat by the window overlooking the best view of the city! had eggs sally my dining partner had eggs benny both were very good! Will be trying again soon for dinner! As menu sounded good as did the desserts!
Perfect place for a wedding. I went to a wedding here a few weeks ago and the venue at the end of St Kilda Pier with the back drop of the Bay, St Kilda and the City skyline was truly breathtaking. The staff were very friendly, professional and 'were on the job' from start to finish with smiles on their faces. It was a cocktail wedding and the food was plentiful (you didn't leave hungry), great quality, well presented and cooked to perfection. There was lot of appreciation of the food from the guests. Truly a perfect place for a wedding.
A well kept secret!. Does anyone know about the little blue restaurant at the end of the st. kilda pier? my wife and i stumbled upon it a couple weeks ago. unfortunately we had already eaten lunch but decided to stop in for a drink and a snack. we had the tasting plate and were very impressed. the wait staff is so friendly and attentive as well. and the view is great. we sat outside and were surprised how much the wind had died down on that side of the building. We will be back, although we hope to see more people in there next time!
Brilliant !. Nov 2011...
used a voucher and was pleasantly suprised that we received attentive service and a fantastic 3 course meal.
Would definitely go back and pay full price.
... reading the lasted reviews,it sounds the chef & mngt changed since my visit.
I loved it!. We went to Little Blue today for breakfast. This restaurant was recommended to me and as I am occasionally willing to try out a new place for breakfast, despite my allegiance to Marios, Kau and Mme. SouSou, I thought I would give Little Blue a go. And BTW, I had not read any of the reviews but I did look up the menu and thought that the Treehugger Breakfast would be right up our alley.
On arrival we were told that breakfast ended at 2pm and were were 30 minutes past but decided to check out the place anyway.
Today was a typical summer's day in Melbourne: grey, overcast and looking like rain but Little Blue has a nice little north facing seating area outside with a great view and out of the wind; in fact it was very warm.
The waiter was friendly and really great as he managed to persuade the chef to make us both a breakfast despite the time. He also tweaked the Treehugger to suit one of us who is a vegan. He was really attentive without being 'insincere' which is unusual for this side of the river. He made it quite clear that they would do poached eggs, soft or hard but not in-between, which i thought was a fair request so i ordered mine scrambled.
Every waiter loves to hear what we said when our breakfasts arrived. WOW! and WOW again! It just seemed to glisten on the plate. In the photo its hard to see what everything is and its a very large plate making the serving look small; its not a great picture but I almost ate everything except for a tiny bit which i just could not manage. Tons of chunky fresh mushrooms, thick juicy crunchy asparagus, fresh housemade pesto, fat shiny baby truss tomatoes, Meredtih goats cheese, the scrambled eggs (even too much) and a slice of sourdough bread. And absolutely delicious-all of it. My flat white was perfect- a good strength and an excellent temperature. Our experience could not be more different from all the other reviews. Did they fire all the wait staff and the chef last week? It sounds like there have been huge inconsistences and serious issues with staff. Did we get the new staff ? What's the deal? I hope that today was not just a fluke and that Little Blue have been able to sort things out so that they can make the most of their great position. Based on today's experience I would happily cross the river again for another one of their superb breakfasts!
Great experience - loved it.. We had lunch here the other day and could not fault the food served or the service we received - both were excellent. The waitress was particularly helpful and sweet and the views are quite lovely. We both really enjoyed the entrees and mains that we chose and we will definitely be going back again soon.
Excellent Food incredible passionate service.. To say we were pleasantly surprised would be a massive understatement. Due to traffic we arrived sweaty and flustered 30 minutes late to be greeted by Rhys to whom nothing was a bother. After asking where we wanted to sit he was extremely helpful and attentive yet not overbearing a absolute professional and passionate about his career. The food was stunning my scallop dish cooked perfectly with the different textures and flavors beautiful. My Girlfriend had Tuna Carpaccio with Wasabi stuffed Raspberries there was plenty of Tuna, a beautiful light entree perfect for summer. The mains were superb mine was a simple Scotch fillet with incredible flavor, hers was the best Pork Belly i have ever eaten absolutely second to none. Melt in your mouth rendered fat with a crispy top on a bed of lentils with cinnamon apple sauce reduction.....ooooooohhhhhhh.
Topped with a beautiful Mount Rosa Rose and teamed with a beautiful day looking at the Melbourne skyline and the Yachts at St Kilda Amazing....
Thanks to Rhys and the staff we will be back.
All this was on a living social coupon which didn't stop the service at all.
Great experience. Went for a walk today with some friends and stumbled on this restaurant behind the st kilda kiosk so thought we'd stay for a bite. The food was a real suprise ! we each had dfferent dishes and no one was let down. The chilli prawns were super fresh and exploded in your mouth and the rissotto was perfect consistency and more than my firend could finish but the stand out dish was the pork belly on du Puy lentils and apple jelly ...AMAZING ...!!! best Ive had for years and a great combinations of flavours. It was a bit busy as could be expected on the water on a 23degree day in sunny melb (at Last ) but staff were pleasant and helpfull even under the pump....
Will definitely be back for another vist :)
