Review Skwidz - St Kilda

Nicest owner! The lady is always lovely and her chips are fresh, thick with just the perfect number of crunchy ones...absolutely delicious. Good serving too.

Quite possibly one of the oldest "Take Away" joints in Fitzroy Street, St. Kilda...This is one of the last original store fronts in St. Kilda that has before it was gentrified in the early 2000's by awful hipsters and millennial cucks. There used to be an arcade shop front right next to Skwidz with those 2 iconic light neon stars which are sadly gone now. Unlike the rest of the strip, Skwidz has very old school/neighbourly feel to it! That feeling is old St. Kilda from 34 years ago which I like, the shop owners are talkative and genuine unlike the rest of the strip. I've been here for 40 years and this is the only shop that I will ever support and give my business to because they're as old school as me of the old St. Kilda. It's a wonder on how they still managed to survive these last 2 and half years under the pandemic but that's proof of a true neighbourly store icon and a test to their survival as well. They may not be swish or swanky unlike the more modern eat outs but they don't try to be, just a true family owned business that I'll support when I can compared to the rest of the dump district. Skwidz is the last of the last true remaining business of a dying strip and I hope they survive onwards to better things in the future!!! The rest of current Fitzroy street st. kilda is a dumpster fire....

Great hamburgers! Cooked in front of you. Visited many times and will keep doing so. Staff are lovely and food is good value too. Never judge a book by the cover.. their story (food) will speak for itself!

Le provides exceptional service and the food is fresh and delicious. We love coming in, she never fails to put a smile on your face. Chicken, chips and gravy are so yummy! Great value for money also.

Chips and gravy are sublime. Thick cut chips the way they used to be with thick dark rich tasty gravy. The staples are all there: dim sims, potato cakes, battered sausage. Also do a great schnitzel roll. Well priced and honestly, I always find a park nearby so I drive rather than Menulog it. Helps them , better for us, worth the effort

Awesome and cheap chips, cheese and gravy. Lady who runs the shop always gives exceptional service and very obviously values her regulars, remembering things like orders and how much cutlery is needed. Awesome place!

I live on Fitzroy street, so I have eaten here a lot.. very friendly husband and wife team, my order has always been correct, prompt and delicious. And considering the rental on the shops out here, their prices are very reasonable..

Had an amazing tasting Lot Burger and chips here tonight, prepared by lovely staff with friendly smiles, will be back
