Quite possibly one of the oldest "Take Away" joints in Fitzroy Street, St. Kilda...This is one of the last original store fronts in St. Kilda that has before it was gentrified in the early 2000's by awful hipsters and millennial cucks. There used to be an arcade shop front right next to Skwidz with those 2 iconic light neon stars which are sadly gone now. Unlike the rest of the strip, Skwidz has very old school/neighbourly feel to it! That feeling is old St. Kilda from 34 years ago which I like, the shop owners are talkative and genuine unlike the rest of the strip. I've been here for 40 years and this is the only shop that I will ever support and give my business to because they're as old school as me of the old St. Kilda. It's a wonder on how they still managed to survive these last 2 and half years under the pandemic but that's proof of a true neighbourly store icon and a test to their survival as well. They may not be swish or swanky unlike the more modern eat outs but they don't try to be, just a true family owned business that I'll support when I can compared to the rest of the dump district. Skwidz is the last of the last true remaining business of a dying strip and I hope they survive onwards to better things in the future!!! The rest of current Fitzroy street st. kilda is a dumpster fire....
