Very nice grilled steak and roasted vegies with a mushroom sauce would highly recommend this restaurant
Visiting from the UK and on a round- Tassie marathon, we spent a happy evening in the pub. Just a fabulous laid back, warm and welcoming place. Ace beer, great pies and a fabulous 70s and 80s video jukebox. Guess I'm now known in Strahan as " That xxxxed Pom who would play ABBA". Go there, you won't regret it!! Ladies spoke highly of the winelist too.
Quick and friendly service, not cheap but food came quick, good portions and quality. A great choice for a meal with a view (especially if you ask to sit by the window or outside) in the small but lovely town of Strahan!
Rocked up at 8.15pm on a weeknight, not knowing what to expect at that time in a small town. Well, we were pleasantly surprised. The Cape Grim steak was beautiful , tender and full of flavour. The bloke had ordered rare and it arrived more medium than rare but it was melt in your mouth tender. I had a salad with candied pear, prosciutto, blue cheese & walnuts. It was crunchy and tangy. and a huge serve. I was slight put off that almost everything in that part of Strahan was owned by the RACT - wonder what that means for the local businesses.
Came here for pizza and parmi night. I get the impression this is the locals part of the pub, but they were very welcoming. The parmi was huge, and with a pint only $20
Great food ,, good and quick service.
Chose , cheesy garlic bread , bruschetta with the good toppings .. Jamaican vegetable curry meal . And chicken breast with Moroccan spices from the grill ,
And tried the soup of the day .
Over all a good experience at this hotel
Would definitely recommend everyone to stop in here for good food .
Restaurant quality meals at pub prices. Incredibly friendly staff and good atmosphere. Restaurant gets very busy during summer, if you're dying for a bite during that time hop over to the bar and order from there. Menus change seasonally!
Great service and great food. Seafood fettuccine was chock full of seafood and amazing pumpkin gnocchi. Not a cheap meal but you get what you pay for.
Awesome food and drinks with great staff and chef!
We arrived without a booking and was asked to wait until a table to freed up. Not long after a bus load of people (who had tables reserved) arrived. As we waited in the bar, we could see the dishes being taken through to the restaurant and they looked fantastic, with large portions and all well presented. Based on what we saw, we had chosen our meals. Finally, we did get a table however was soon asked by Kate, who was working feverishly, if we could move to another table. Kate was so polite and friendly, and continued to look after us (and others) for the night. Much appreciated Kate. When meals arrived, we were not disappointed. They looked just like the one’s served earlier in the evening. The tastes were incredible, and all our dishes were exceptional with the freshest of ingredients. Totally recommend the Salmon with lemon pasta, however the Pan Fried Chicken and Fish of the Day satisfied my companions. Huge thankyou to the chef and her/his staff.
We have been travelling around Tassie with our 2yo for over 2 weeks and dining out once in each town we stay.. this hasn't always been easy with limited options at times but last night after a last minute decision to dine here, we are so glad be did! Food, service and atmosphere were wonderful! Staff were helpful and allowed the three of us to have a wonderful time! Thank you.
Had the vegetarian schnitzel which looks like it was house made which was a nice touch. Tasted pretty nice and a good-sized portion. Have included a photo so you can see what you’re getting if you order this also. Good service!
Went to the pub for a bar meal. I never eat all my chips but here I couldn’t hold back! PERFECT! Seasoning so yummy and the calamari was soft and delicious. Seriously- for $16!!!! And super friendly service.
The food was really good for pub grub. All 6 at our table enjoyed their meals. I had the beer battered flathead. The fish was great, the batter was almost tempura like in its lightness. The chips were crispy & the salad was fresh. I what more can you ask for.
Road out to this isolated small lighthouse is reasonable gravel. Some very nice rocky beach vistas.
