Called and booked for two for an unplanned Sunday lunch. We came with recommendation by the locals and I have to say that I am pleasantly surprised with the beautifully cosy place, clean and good quality food.
Menu is a limited but we had the specials with was the twice cooked pork belly and roasted stuffed lamb loin. The lamb was cooked to perfection but I felt the pork was slightly overcooked on some part. To finish off we had the apple crumble (that's what i think it is) which was heavenly.
Prices was on the higher side but you pay for what you get as they say. Plus I felt the quality of food was worth it. We also got the fruit cake which was lovely as well.
I'd recommend this place for the quality food, friendly staff and owner and the ambience. Sitting outside during summer, just be wary of the flies. 7/10
Set in treeed setting in Ruffy in the Strathbogie region of Victoria's north.
The Ruffy Produce Store is definitely worth a visit with local food and wines to choose from. A relaxed atmosphere makes it easy to wile away a few hours with friends.
Big drive but well worth the effort. Great ambience - could be mistaken for somewhere in France or Italy. Interesting food - a real summer menu now being served. Platters are generous, Tapas are quirky and cakes are delightful. All made in house. A variety of local wines complement the menu. Book for a large group or just share with someone special. Either way you won't be disappointed.
Outstanding dining experience in a lovely location. The food was sensational, local wines very enjoyable, service attentive and our hostess made us feel very welcome. We dined outside in the beautiful garden area. The restaurant has a great relaxed ambience. There's also a wide range of different condiments available to take away. Can highly recommend.
Stopped in for breakfast with friends and were delighted with this place. Great food and coffee in a beautiful setting. Freshly baked cakes and tarts emerged from the kitchen while we were there and the smells were divine. Off the beaten track but so worth the effort.
This place is a must to visit. Fantastic food and great choice of wines and beers. Helen is a wonderful host and will make you feel totally welcome. If it's not too hot, spending time under the trees in the garden is a great way to enjoy your time here. Overall a great place to visit.
Fabulous, constantly fabulous. Delicious food, fresh, tasty made with care for the enjoyment of the diners. Friendly informed staff, lovely owner, grand chef, wise with wine suggestions, desserts... oh my.. so good. Unique, enjoyable, quirky setting. Bliss 'in the middle of nowhere'.
Delicious food, good quality art, and a real sense of satisfaction that you've found the place in the middle of nowhere.
It's a bitumen road from Yarck to Ruffy, so if you're unsure of country driving, it's best to go this way. Glorious setting. Restaurant quality and priced meals, so don't expect sandwiches for lunch.
They do music and dinner, but I was there for a lunch under a huge shady tree. Very tranquil.
