Review Cafe 22 - Strathfield South

A cool place for brisk catch-ups with friends, decent food and drinks to keep you company. Parking is definitely a problem, recommend not driving as its easily accessible from the train station (just 2mins walk).

Good portion size and fair pricing. Pancakes were a little dry and rubbery, but everything else was great. Coffee is nice, a bit on the milder side.

Love their chill vibe and good selection of snow ice aka Korean bingsoo. I ordered mango flavours and it was yum 😋 The shaved ice came with mango pieces, vanilla ice cream, rice cakes and mango syrupy sauce and the snow ice was flavoured with condensed milk. Portion is good for 2-3 people sharing. I just wish they have more toppings hence the 4 stars ratings.

First time visiting and really like the ambiance of the interior. It gives the right vibe to share conversation or two. My mango sponge cake is delicious but the Oreo one is a little too dry. Friendly and prompt service by the girls at the register👍 I would visit here to avoid a more crowded Lab cafe which is in the same neighbourhood.

A good vibrant Korean style cafe specializing in cakes and fusion drinks. It opens till late, so this is a popular hang out spot for the locals. The cakes are presented nicely and not too sweet. The organic green tea latte is really good!đŸ”

I ordered strawberry bingsoo . Not bad. But a little bit artificial taste. We need a more condensed milk. It makes it more soft. Not bad

The taste of the coffee is look super amazing and the way it is served is also quiet fascinating. Looking for a stop around the corner of your walk then it is quiet the place to visit. The staff is quiet decent but the place can be a bit rushed up at times and feel like clumbsy.

Interesting selection of cakes, pastries and desserts. Tried the cheesecake which was very nice. Would come here again to try the shaved desserts next time.

Got the green tea bingsu/shaved ice for $17 😍would 100% recommend it just melts in your mouth. The only thing I would’ve wanted more of is the mochi but otherwise amazing ! The staff are also super nice.

Amazing food and generous portions. Really balanced flavour with their Smoked Salmon Mush - smoked salmon, cream cheese and mushroom on sourdough with feta, cherry tomatoes, pickled onion, capers and vinaigrette. Portuguese chicken burger on brioche bun was very intense, salty bacon, creamy aioli, spicy chicken (could do with less salt) but all in all very very satisfied!

They have great macarons and bingsu. Most staff are friendly too. I have seen on many occasions people who come to study but personally I do not recommend this place as a study cafe unless it is not busy.

Nice interior, with seating at the front and the back. Cafe offers desserts, breakfast and drinks. The bingsoo was $18 and the portion was alright for two people to share, though other competitors provide a larger size. The taste is good but would appreciate some more filling, because once you eat the top, it’s just a bowl of ice leftover. Also there is no condensed milk FYI.

Came here for dessert after dinner and it was full, we managed to get the last available table. Had a caramel milkshake and share the green tea snow ice dessert. The milk shake was really sweet and I didn’t really enjoy it. The snow dessert on the other hand was great. Really fine light shaved ice with good flavour and generous amount of topping. We really enjoyed it and would come back again for this.

Hands down my favourite coffee in Sydney but the dessert isn't worth getting. There are better dessert places around.

Good all rounder cafe that serves nice cakes, beverages and bingsoo (have tried most of the flavours & they're all done well - particularly matcha, mango and tiramisu) . Staff are friendly, ambience makes it a good place to have a chat with friends.

The ambience and atmosphere of the cafe was amazing. They did not play kpop, as they played normal pop music. This was a plus, as personally I do not enjoy kpop. We were curious when we were at the register they sold coffee in a steel can so we ordered an ice coffee in a can (+$.50), coffee bingsu and a slice of soufflé cheesecake.
The cheesecake was amazing, although it did not have the airyness of a soufflĂ© the texture was amazing and it was delicious. I prefer this over uncle tetsu! The coffee bingsu was not sweet or had a limited sweetness which was on the plus side. The ice coffee in a was pretty cool, they seal your drink inside the can. It wasn’t sweet as I know some cafes like to add ice cream. The coffee in this was on point! I would definitely go back and try their other cakes and drinks!

Amongst two or more people, the green tea bingsu would be worth its price. It tastes very unique, and the addition of tiny mochi, nuts and (i think) red bean/cranberry paste oddly adds on to the deliciousness. personally, the strawberry bingsu was a bit too strong in flavour and not very memorable, but my friends had preferred it over the green tea bingsu so it really comes down to personal preference of flavour (°▜°) The swivelling chair is a great addition and the interior design overall was okay. the music is very cute and cozy. i have not tried the desserts, but the bingsu is definitely one of the better ones i’ve had.

Firstly I apologise for I do not like to shame. However for the sake of readers wanting my genuine review, here is my account of my visit on 1/7/19 @ 2100. First impression was good, nice blown up photos of sumptuous looking desserts and surprise swivel chairs that made us feel like kids. The first green tea cake slice we ordered was fine, nothing special. Then the big ice cream desserts arrived. First flavour was green tea, not bad looking but tasted like an amateurish concoction of ingredients that were thrown in with no thought of taste appeal. Second was the "kiwi & avo" flavour. First thing noticed was no avocado like in the photo. We questioned this and the attendant said "its not like the photo but there is avocado inside mixed in". Although dissapointed we dug in. To our further dismay, not a single scent or sight of the acclaimed avocado was evident. The rest of the experience was ruined.

Was a lovely visit today with my friend to this cafe. we split the chicken sandwich and ordered the chocolate bingsu. although we came the strathfield to try the bingssu, the chicken sandwich was absolutely delicious!! the chicken was very tender, the flavours balanced well and the bread was toasted nicely too. the bingsu was very nice as well, some reviews talk about the light icy flavouring, which is one i prefer over more heavy shaved ice cream. the chocolate bingsu was not for me as i prefer more fruity flavours but for $16 it was well worth it! loses one star for the lighting really as it was quite dark with no natural light downstairs.

Love the smash avo, its the best in Sydney! I eat at this palce almost everyday. The coffee's are amazing, i loved the mocha. French toast are best way to end the meal.
Best bingsoo I’ve had in all of Sydney!!! They have many different flavours such as chocolate, matcha, mango and more. I ordered the strawberry, which cones topped with chopped strawberries, mochi, a scoop of vanilla ice cream and strawberry syrup. Their shaved ice is flavourful and soft and melts in your mouth. The mochi is perfectly chewy and sweet, and the strawberries covered in syrup were absolutely delicious. The portion is generous even when shared with a friend. I highly recommend this cafe for bingsoo, and would definitely come back for their lunch menu as well. For $16, I preferred this place much more over LAB and the Square Cafe, which are both more expensive.

Very nice atmosphere. The owner is very welcoming, smiling and polite. They serve easy meals. I had this ham avo and fetta toast. Easy but tasty food. Coffee was good too

Went here a few months ago to celebrate after exams and wow the food's beautiful! The strawberry bingsoo and cake slice was amazing. The oreo cake was quite disappointing as I expected a stronger oreo flavour. There wasn't much of an oreo flavour, just tastes like plain cake :/ If you're a big cookies and cream fan, I wouldn't get the oreo cake slice. Other than that, a good place to satisfy your sweet cravings.

This cafe is really aesthetic and the low light setting was really calming and refreshing. The service was great as well, the staff were really nice and even though it was busy our food arrived reasonably on time. I went on a hot day with my friends and the $17 Green Tea Bingsu was perfectly cooling. It just melts in your mouth so smoothly 😅. The flavour of the Bingsu was really suttle I wish it was a bit stronger but i still loved it.

5 stars for the best Bingsu in Syd!!! so nice and fluffy which melts in your mouth. My favorite is the mango bingsu $16 which can be best shared with 2-3 people. They open till late as well so the perfect spot for dessert after kbbq or hangout with friends.

I got the chocolate bingsoo, presentation was cute and didn’t taste overly sweet! The servers were kind and friendly. The atmosphere was cute, artsy and very decorative.
Babybao
The mango snow ice is light and refreshing. It’s not overly sweet which makes it the perfect dessert. Costs $16 and can be shared between 3-4 people.

A cute Korean coffee shop around the area.
This place charge accordingly, and it doesn’t make your wallet empty!first, we are looking for Dessert after Korean BBQ, and walked pass this shop, and decided to came in.
The decent selection of Dessert are on display.
Once my eyes look at the cheese cake selection, my mouth was salivating!
There was NY cheese cake and the soufflé cheese cake that makes me sway!
Soufflé cheese cake was light like a cloud, delicate yet tasty!
Piccolo wasn’t bad at all all!
At the end left the place with a big smile in my face!

Love this place. Perfect place to head to after Korean BBQ.
The Desserts look amazing and taste pretty good. There are a variety of drinks that are all exciting, recommend the matcha latte as it has cool latte art. Heaps of seating available compared to the old cafe that used to be here. The aesthetics of the shop are really beautiful.

This cafe is very popular and cozy in terms of its table layout and interior design. This venue suits groups of any size, we came as a group of 8 people and sat at the round tables near the sofa seats.
The menu is decently priced from average to slightly pricey. They have a range of desserts and typical cafe food, including waffles, bagels, slices of cake, shakes, coffee, ice cream and so forth.
We enjoyed the waffles with ice cream, fruit and whipped cream on the side. They were crispy and fresh! The cakes were super sweet and such a delight with our sugary drinks! We always come here after a hearty dinner at KBBQ :D Highly recommend a visit to this cafe ~

I loved the customer service and the ambiance of the place. It’s very chill and a good place to hang out with friends. The food, especially the desserts were sooo good! The drinks I also liked as well but at times it’s a hit and miss with the green tea varieties.

Nice cosy little cafe, and open late on Saturday nights which is a plus.

Their waffles were quite good, which are essentially what you’d get at Max Brenner/OB, but cheaper! We had their single waffle ($6) and banana strawberry waffle ($11). Pleased that the staff let us exchange the whipped cream which usually comes with it, for an extra scoop of ice cream.

Will be back to try their other desserts!

Typical Korean cafe serving coffee and sliced cakes. Taro latte really smooth & aromatic, green tea shaved ice desserts was nice and powdery flakes however a bit sweet. Pretty nice space with brick walls and double storey height.

Visited yesterday at 5pm and the cafe is almost full. I was attracted by its modern decor and to my surprise, the service is top notch. Staff was very attentive and polite. You know those small things that make you feel genuinely welcome and want to come back again and again.
I ordered the choux and croissant. Choux was priced at $1.8 each and toasted croissant with single serve of jam and butter was only at $3.8. That to me is a very good deal considering a takeaway one in cbd is already $4.50. Both were exceptionally tasty and i highly recommend them.
did not try the coffee but when the coffee arrived at the table next to me, the crema and latter art look great too
I would give this cafe 5/5 for their lovely. 5/5 for the decor. 4/5 for food quality and pricing.

With the industrial vibe fusing with classic decorations, Caffe 22 brings out refinery raw and modern vintage feelings. A place to grab a cup of coffee, a quick brunch, or something sweet. If you fancy a cake, kindly make your way to the counter to discover almost-endless eye-watering desserts.

As my stomach has already been satisfied with savoury, I proceed to order Victoria strawberry cake, beautifully decorated with layers of strawberry and sponge, and freshly whipped cream. Despite the look, it tastes somewhat ordinary, similar to something you can find from Breadtop or 85 degrees. The winner goes to sweet potato cake which has an interesting taste of starchy and natural sweetness from sweet potato. The foundation of their cakes relies on a similar principle: sponge/cream/sponge/cream, what differentiates them are the flavours and their creativities.

Nevertheless, Caffe 22 still can't corporate the music with the resources that they have; simply playing pop music on the Top Charts over conversation in such interior design is a misapplication.
