My family went all out here and ordered a feast but they said they didn't really like it
But I LOVED it (but I pretty much like all Korean food so...)
I guess it's just a thing where everyone has a different preffered taste
My dad likes his food extremely spicy but because Korean food has a slight sweetness to it's spice, he didn't like it as much
My mum CANNOT eat spicy food at all and so had to order other stuff and she said those were fine
My brother usually likes Korean food too but he didn't like the food at this restaurant idk why
Overall I think doo ri has food to cater for all flavour preferences
And
On their menu there's the set that you can order. We thought that it was that price for however many of you there are. But it was per person so yeah just clearing that up
It's so hard for us the Food Hunters to be objective about Doo Ri so we won't even pretend to be. We are very fond of this Korean place in Strathfield - which says something in a crowded field. The screens constantly showing Korean daytime TV, the buzzing flies, the slightly sticky air - it's cheaptastic, and proud of it. A sign says the aircon is on but the substance of this statement is somewhat undermined by the multiple fans whirring away at the same time. If Edward Hopper decided to paint in Strathfield during business hours (admittedly unlikely), I reckon this would be the place he chooses.
And the food - as other reviewers have written, the food's nothing flash - but isn't that the very point? Like a trusty peanut butter sandwich, their $10 lunch specials are reliably satisfying and come with a quality range of side dishes. And if you're in the mood to splurge as I was today, you can even try the $15 cold noodles with beef tatare, which comes complete with ice cubes. The beef was well marinaded, surprisingly tender but also undeniably raw so it's not for the faint hearted. For us Food Hunters of course, nothing, no matter how raw and bloody looking, could ever stand in the way of our quest for sheer deliciousness.
Awesome Korean Barbecue Experience. I've been to Doo Ri maybe 5 or 6 times over the past year and in fact, I'm going again tomorrow! This is a cult favourite between my group of friends and gives a real bang for your buck!
We always order one of the barbecue sets either for 2 or 4 people depending on how many people we have and never do they let us down. The meats are well marinated and delicious, and the amount of food they give us is amazing! For only $20 per person, it's a true bargain.
Staff are lovely and very polite. One time we had to change a plate 5 times and they were always all smiles and making jokes and being generally kind and friendly.
The barbecue set for 2 is more than enough for 2 people. Hubby and I have ordered the set for 2 and had been so full afterwards we could hardly move! And I also love that they provide free water. I can't comment on food outside of the barbecue sets, but the seafood pancake, vegetable noodle salad, seafood udon, spring onion salad, gyoza and salt and pepper squid - all of which are great.
If you feel in the mood for a great cheap eat, Doo Ri Korean barbecue is what to buy.
