Review Doo Ri Restaurant Korean Bbq - Strathfield

on plus is that the side dishes aren't bad. Our family of 6 ordered the meat BUFFET, they bring out 2 small trays of assorted meat. which you cant even choose what meat to have on there at the start. then when we ask for more meat since its a "BUFFET" the owner were not happy with us and when we ask for the grilling tray to be swap since it was all burnt. she said finish the all your meat first then ill swap it. that's just ridiculous no wonder all the other places on weekend was full and this one wasn't. never coming back again.

Never ever have an unlimited BBQ!! We went there on Thursday night and we were the only table there. We ordered some "Wagyu beef", but that was awfully chewy. On top of that, sliced brisket's fat was yellow and smelly as well. But the chef there was making so many excuses.. Wasted my time and money there tonight. Will never visit.

Worst experience at Korean BBQ! paid for unlimited BBQ and spent 3 hours asking for rice and bulgogi, only to leave hungry and disappointed after being forgotten time and time again. it took 7 times asking and me getting up and asking before we even got our rice. never even got our pork belly! never ever again

My family went all out here and ordered a feast but they said they didn't really like it
But I LOVED it (but I pretty much like all Korean food so...)
I guess it's just a thing where everyone has a different preffered taste
My dad likes his food extremely spicy but because Korean food has a slight sweetness to it's spice, he didn't like it as much
My mum CANNOT eat spicy food at all and so had to order other stuff and she said those were fine
My brother usually likes Korean food too but he didn't like the food at this restaurant idk why
Overall I think doo ri has food to cater for all flavour preferences
And
On their menu there's the set that you can order. We thought that it was that price for however many of you there are. But it was per person so yeah just clearing that up
Picturesque Food
Lunch at Doo Ri! From memory, Doo Ri served delicious Korean cuisine, however, lunch today wasn't close to what it use to be.
I might add that they do have a $10 lunch menu.
Today we ordered the spicy and sweet chicken and pork Kim chi soup with rice.
The side dishes promptly arrived and were below average. The Kim chi seemed slightly too acidic in flavour.
The pork Kim chi soup was quite spicy and was okay. The fried chicken was too sweet, however, also okay.
What really was disappointing was the bowl of rice given. Normally when given a bowl of white rice, the rice is completely white, however, it seemed that they had offered me old rice or rice with something they split something into it. The staff would have been well aware of this as the bowl of rice was handed to me without the lid and the discoloration could be clearly seen.
Very unprofessional. Probably will not be returning.

Strathfield is the pinnacle of Korean cuisine in Western Sydney; & I've been to Doo Ri countless times to get my KBBQ craves satisfied.
The menu is basic but has a lot to offer, along with their BBQ deals.
The environment is slightly awkward, Kinda basic. No deco, shady lighting, Korean programs on full blast, and chefs watching us through the kitchen window eat and take shots.
Overall good food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff.
Food Hunters
It's so hard for us the Food Hunters to be objective about Doo Ri so we won't even pretend to be. We are very fond of this Korean place in Strathfield - which says something in a crowded field. The screens constantly showing Korean daytime TV, the buzzing flies, the slightly sticky air - it's cheaptastic, and proud of it. A sign says the aircon is on but the substance of this statement is somewhat undermined by the multiple fans whirring away at the same time. If Edward Hopper decided to paint in Strathfield during business hours (admittedly unlikely), I reckon this would be the place he chooses.

And the food - as other reviewers have written, the food's nothing flash - but isn't that the very point? Like a trusty peanut butter sandwich, their $10 lunch specials are reliably satisfying and come with a quality range of side dishes. And if you're in the mood to splurge as I was today, you can even try the $15 cold noodles with beef tatare, which comes complete with ice cubes. The beef was well marinaded, surprisingly tender but also undeniably raw so it's not for the faint hearted. For us Food Hunters of course, nothing, no matter how raw and bloody looking, could ever stand in the way of our quest for sheer deliciousness.

Looking for a cheaper Korean Barbecue in Strathfield? Then Doo Ri is your spot! They have everything you would expect from a Kbbq but nothing really stands out or extraordinary. But it is lighter on your pocket.

Been to this place quite often because of their set BBQ menus as they are at a good pricing for my partner and I. However, there has been recurring problems such as food coming slow e.g soup, dumplings, noodles that were included with the set menus. It's nice to eat everything together. It's not a huge problem but when you are looking forward to the extras included, it can be a big drag. The biggest problem I encounter every time I eat there (yes! Every time!) the workers especially the old lady who seems to be the owner, love to come and take over cooking your food or putting food on for you without saying anything. Rude. The old lady also loves to stare at you whilst you are eating. I find this extremely rude and unacceptable. I don't feel as though they are trying help, because even when we are doing just fine they butt in. I feel like they are trying to rush us so we don't waste their precious gas. So disappointing. I've decided not to go there anymore which is a big bummer because it wasn't the food that was a problem, it was the workers and especially the owner.

Our experience at Doo Ri was very pleasant. The staff were efficient and knowledgeable, the food was plentiful, delicious and well-prepared, and the process of cooking our own food was fun and ideal for a larger group. The restaurant is also directly across the road from Strathfield station and around the corner from our favourite karaoke place, so we'll definitely be coming back.

It was one of those cold nights so korean was a perfect choice - you can either warm up with korean BBQ or something spicy.

The banchan (side dishes) were ok but not remarkable. The potatoes were tasty enough. It was fried then coated in chili oil.

Disappointed.. I've been eating at Doo Ri since my high school days but now it's gone down hill. Food quality has significantly changed for the worse and not to mention that my friends and I were scammed, not once but twice. Last night to celebrate a friend's birthday, we decided to head over to our go-to korean bbq hangout. We clearly pointed to the KBBQ set that was for $20 and said $20 to verbally confirm. When the bill arrived, the price was $35 each because they said we ordered the "unlimited meat and seafood set". We had no seafood at the table at all and we were not given refills for our meat, the only thing that was different about the set was sweet and sour chicken which only had 6 pieces - needless to say that did not cost $75 with the extra money we paid. We told the lady that we did not have seafood and she said she could take off $5 so at the end of the night we had to pay $30 each. I am utterly outraged, never going here again.

Awesome Korean Barbecue Experience. I've been to Doo Ri maybe 5 or 6 times over the past year and in fact, I'm going again tomorrow! This is a cult favourite between my group of friends and gives a real bang for your buck!

We always order one of the barbecue sets either for 2 or 4 people depending on how many people we have and never do they let us down. The meats are well marinated and delicious, and the amount of food they give us is amazing! For only $20 per person, it's a true bargain.

Staff are lovely and very polite. One time we had to change a plate 5 times and they were always all smiles and making jokes and being generally kind and friendly.

The barbecue set for 2 is more than enough for 2 people. Hubby and I have ordered the set for 2 and had been so full afterwards we could hardly move! And I also love that they provide free water. I can't comment on food outside of the barbecue sets, but the seafood pancake, vegetable noodle salad, seafood udon, spring onion salad, gyoza and salt and pepper squid - all of which are great.
If you feel in the mood for a great cheap eat, Doo Ri Korean barbecue is what to buy.

It's ok. My husband and I came here for lunch and even at 2pm they seem to be busy. We opted for their seafood pancakes which was too doughy and not cooked enough. Their spicy cold noodles were okay ($10 lunch special) and was perfect for a warm day. Lots of side dishes were served and the wait for the food wasn't long. They have an extensive menu and I'm sure the Korean BBQ is popular at dinner.

I experienced the worst customer service ever. I went to this place on a Sat night, with lots of expectation. however, a woman(may be the owner) turned us down, she just can't wait to "kick" us out.
She placed the whole plate of wagyu meat on stove in one go, WITHOUT our permission at all..
Later, she turned off our stove even though we still got half plate of raw seafood to bbq. WTH?? I was so pissed off, and pointed the seafood to her, then she turned stove on unpleasantly..
Please Just leave us and our food alone..
Two of us ordered nearly $100 dishes, it is not a tiny order that she needs to show us her long face.. What a disrespectful person. I would never go back again, and I don't recommend anyone to go there.

Had the buffet was really disappointed with the standard. Had it a year ago, was fantastic, but today was disappointing. We orders the seafood buffet, the japchae was tasteless. The octopus that was provided as part of the buffet was far too salty. Probably had thrown the octopus in the saltwater prior to serving us. The marinate sauce for the meat was not as good as last year as well. Would not recommend to come here unless you're here for eat all your can without caring about the taste

Weekend Frenzy. Went here last weekend for a friend Birthday. We ordered Jap Chae, Haemul Paejun, Buddae Jiggae and Pork Bone & Potato soup. Like the assorted side dishes, the service was friendly and the staff was attentive. The fried chicken was alright, but the soups were good. There will be next time =)

The staff were extremely friendly and quiet helpful considering we hadn't has Korean before. The food was delicious and the price was excellent.
