Review Mad Mex - Subiaco

Kait M
Ate here Saturday 1st June. Service was terrible, no hello just a rude pointing gesture to move down and order. When ordering the man was dismissive about not being able to have tomato in the burrito, when I pointed to the tomato he said no. We ordered nachos, quesadillas and a burrito and it was fairy average food but the customer service really put us off ever going back. We were the only customers in the shop so no excuse for poor customer service.

Always love going here for a quick lunch and being greeted by the wonderful staff. They truly offer service with a smile and are always happy to help you with your order or clarify anything. Food is nice, Grande Melt can be a bit messy but it's always a good lunch at a reasonable value.

very, very disappointing. Ordered online and when I cam by to pick-up the order hadn't started. What a cluster... When they printed my order they couldn't read my number to call me that they had sold out of churros. They had also run out of chicken by 6:00pm on a Saturday. Unable to refund and so had to wait. They have offered a voucher but don't want to go back as it was such a disappointing meal for my kids and I. Requested a refund for the missing items but no confirmation a week later. Just don't bother.

Pretty unhappy. Enter the restaurant today at 1.25pm. Guy in the kitchen comes out but alas not to serve me... He starts cleaning up the tables. I have to say 'excuse me " to get his attention. I ordered a naked burrito and asked for spinach instead of lettuce only to be told "I can't give you that as it is for the salads" mmmm not happy. Terrible attitude

Absolutely horrendous, I bought Nachos from Uber Eats for $15 and well, as you can see from the picture that they gave me a disgustingly small portion size, it is basically a small dump in the middle of the box. How is that worth $15?? I am absolutely disgusted, whoever made that should really be ashamed of themselves. Theres about 10 nachos in there, a little bit of meat and a handful of salad. I called the store, was called 'bro' and told that there is nothing they can do. I have contacted Uber Eats and hope that further action is taken.

Used to come here and eat lunch regularly for years and it was consistently great, however hadn't been in a couple weeks and went again today only to find they have removed steak from the menu, they also had no chicken, the chorizo was also extremely burnt. The grande wasn't rolled properly before toasting so it all fell apart when opened and was burnt and stuck to the alfoil. The loyalty program also wasn't working which meant the free meal I had earnt up couldn't be used which would have made this average meal a bit more bearable. Possibly new management or something as the old store manager that used to be there all the time wasn't there. Overall sucked and unfortunately will never go back, only giving 3 stars because it was so good for so long.

I love mad mex, however, ive only ever been to the Midland store which is always top notch. The guy who served me at the subiaco store (short, fat guy) showed no interest in me. When he took my money (mid-order), he didnt take his gloves off and continued to handle my food until i told him to put new gloves on. He reluctantly changed gloves and then gave me angry looks the rest of the encounter. He took my food out the back and i have no idea what he did with it. Pretty sub-par experience and i wont be coming back to this store.

Food is good. Customer service on october 2nd 3:40pm was terrible. Was treated like absolute garbage trying to order my burrito. 1 man was working the whole kitchen and had a terrible attitude. Please act more professional. DF

Came here to pick up my $2 guacamole whilst the boyf got a quesadilla. There was only one person working and although he remained cool and calm he was quite under the pump. The meal was pretty much all onion with a little bit of meat. Overall I still rate. Hsha. Love their guac!!

I had a grande melt in mad mex along with a corona. It tasted really good. It has a nice atmosphere to sit down, relax and eat. They've also got a range of other exotic drinks which I'd like to try out someday.

Subiaco is the best mad mex by far! Friendly staff and generous servings! 10/10 Food quality here is kept to a great standard with everything always being fresh. Restaurant always clean and tidy!
LittleGirlBigFood
As far as mexican style take out joints go this rates relatively highly. I stress the term Mexican style. The burritos are yummy and i love that you can you can buy just dip and chips if you want to.

Healthy Mexican dine in or takeaway. Fast delicious and filling. Different drink selections - from Mexico. Teenagers and parents both like this fast food option. Bit pricey though.

Good and affordable! <br/>I'm a massive fan of their burrito and they never failed me! It always comes fresh and tasty! The staffs are always happy, helpful and professional!<br/><br/>Decor wise, I love their Corona Beer bottles pendants! It's very smart, chic yet very Mexican!

Terrible Experience!! Disappointed!<br/>Went there for a Monday late lunch, been so busy at work so I took break pretty late, but thought I would be out of the busy hours so will get serve, eat and go back to office. First look was great, 3pm, empty restaurant, nobody queing. After 2 minutes waiting next to the sign "order here!" my scenario of the quick lunch break, disappeared. Finally got some attention by a fake coughing, the guy who was standing just a few metters from me and cutting some meat, has noticed me and with a full mouth of the stuff he was cutting said, "hooughw arrre youuhh?"..trying to swallow everything to pretend all is good. Not really, because I didn't want to get served with the same gloves he cut the lamb or smth, this is basic known fact even for a kids :( When I said "Nachos, please" I got response which made me to get my meal and probably have enough of this store for a long time! "When I looking at your beatiful face I'm sure you would like it hot!" ??? It was from him inappropriate behaviour, what makes ladies scarry and affraid. I just didn't feel comfortable at all, was little bit over. <br/>Won't hurry back indeed!!

Nothing like eating a meal under the threat of death. Well if it was going to be my last meal, at least it was a good one.. A few weeks ago I was on my way to a meeting in Subiaco and dropped into Mad Mex for a quick taco. I hadn’t been there before, so was fascinated by the wrestling paraphernalia and imagery dotted around the room. Besides a good Taco the décor might give you some good ideas.
Mark
The tacos I ordered were a bit bland but I did find a baby cockroach in my taco - nice. I would not recommend this place to anyone as I felt sick ever sine the cockroach incident.

SO EXCITED!. OMG! I am SOOO EXCITED to have finally found decent tasting "Tex Mex" food here in Perth. The salsa was flavorful and the meats (carne asada and barbacoa) were perfectly seasoned and cooked. I'm from California, and this place is a welcome addition to my places to eat. Is it authentic Mexican food...not quite like being in Mexico (and I've lived there too), but it is pretty authentic Tex Mex. The picante habenero salsa was super yum.....I could eat that just straight!
Indigestion Kid
Tried the one in Perth city before and this was about on par as to what to expect for a fast food Mexican. Fresh and tasty at a reasonable price. The overall offer if range food and price are alway satisfying when craving Mexican in a hurry.
Arepasinqueso
Outstanding!. Great food, friendly service and fair pricing, what more could you want? We'll be back, yet again!

Mmmmmmmexican..... Got nachos and a burrito for lunch today in subiaco, my girlfriwnd recently introduced me to mexican food and this is the second time I have tried mad mex the first time was in melbourne a month ago in flinders lane where I found the service to be rude and very unwelcoming, the servings to be very skimped on for the price, and the staff seeming very rude towards me and happily laughing and talking in there own language between each other. The sauce I chose for my nachos was to hot for me to finish them but I was overall happy with the meal, besides my mouth burning for the next couple of hours haha, after this I tried zambreros on chapel st prahran and although the service was good I chose a less hot sauce and did not find any enjoyment in the slop looking chicken nachos I was served... arriving back in perth I had a craving for the mad mex chicken nachos again and headed into subi where I found the service to be great greated with a smile, service was quick mild sauce was much easier to eat and by the end I was stuffed, wasnt skimped on with any ingredients and was very satisfied the young guy serving on the counter had great customer service skills, and a good attitude towards hes job, even though I could imagine it bieng quiet mind numbing and repetitive. Top results for your store will be eating here again.

Top lunch spot in Subiaco!!!. After I was compelled to provide some minor criticism arising from my first few dining experiences here a few months ago, the management team and staff here at Mad Mex Subiaco must be highly commended. It appears they took the feedback in a constructive manner and have addressed all matters raised and this place now continues to one of my favourite lunch spots in central Subiaco during the week.<br/><br/>Staff are highly enthusiastic, food seems like it gets tastier every time and its VALUE.<br/><br/>Highly recommended but beat the mad (mex) rush seemingly occuring at 12:30pm daily!!!
Jimmy21
Great Food!!. I love Mad Mex! I'm so hooked on it. It is healthy, has heaps of variety and the staff are so friendly. If I had to live on only one meal my whole life it would be a naked burrito from Mad Mex with steak! JUM!!!
Mwashy
Average - the products are not overly fresh. Choice of sauces are limited and there is only one salsa :(
Luke H
I go hear once per week and always look forward to the healthy take out option, a lot of selection, take your time to choose all your favorite fillings and toppings. The staff are always friendly and there are pretty dam good drink options and my local Subi one has a alcohol licence. Always happy with order and the feeling great after that last bite.

Mad Mex. What another Sydney food treat. The Tacos are addictive, real mince,<br/>even though it's a bit salty. I don't mind. I could eat these f..kers all day.<br/>Even though the burritos aren't as tasty as say Burp, they're still bloody good. It's probably cause the ones at Burp are so good. I had a burrito, three beef tacos, plus three more to go at this Newtown one in Sydney, as I was staying at Haberfield. You can also get Mexican cola and some other Mexican<br/>refreshers. Yes, okay it's a bit dear but what isn't in Sydney. Also don't forget, you can get drink refills. Taste Mexico in Newtown, quite popular with some other Mexican places in the endless line of shops that fill King, Enmore and Stanmore Rd. Gracious. Even Mad Mel would love to dine here. Awesome.<br/><br/>Tacos 9/10<br/>Burritos- a low 8/10<br/>Mexican Cola 8/10

Surprising!. I'm not a fan of chain restaurants, or fast food restaurants for that matter. But when in a hurry, gotta take what you can get! I was really surprised! The guy who served me seemed to really enjoy serving me, and so he should! The food was obviously good quality and fresh, the service was fast and the atmosphere was chilled out but not so relaxed that you got the impression the staff don't want to be there, like most fast food restaurants. Will be back for sure!!!
Jacquie Spiller
YES!. LOVE IT! Great staff, amazing vibe and good healthy food!! Definitely recommend for a healthy takeaway!
Michael
A friend of mine said this Mexican place is not that great, so I decided I'd see what all his complaining was about and give it a try.<br/>He was right. I got a burrito and it was not very good, especially considering it cost $11 + $2 for some kind of excuse for guacamole. The black beans and rice taste really bland, and the tortilla was bland also. Not much flavour at all, especially in the salsa or the meat (I got beef). I couldn't even finish my burrito, it tasted so average :(<br/>This place executes the tacky mexican ambience well but the food is the pits. Won't be going back again - stick to Zambreros where the food actually tastes really good, for the same price.
GC Queen
Been overcharges every single time I've been here. Shame on me for going back! When I raised the overcharge with one of the staff he didn't really get it, I had to explain it a few times and u asked for my money back. He tried to offer a voucher which was nice but I wanted a refund for the difference in what I paid & what our meals were worth. Finally got a refund and he offered vouchers too which was really lovely but didn't stamp to endorse them do they were useless (only noticed this when we got home).
StarQ
Great place for a casual bite to eat. Food is always good - the portion sizes can be a bit deceiving! We always over eat!!
Sasch
Simple but good. Hey it basically takeaway but the quality and the taste is really good with some health options. Bit of an atmosphere to boot. Young crowd mostly.
MissD
Yum!. A great place to hang out with friends - conveniently located and a really fun vibe. The staff were lovely and the food, delicious :) I really liked that there were healthy options in addition to the usual wicked Mexican fare, so something for everyone! The food was very well priced and the portions LARGE. And, i must add - their churros were a great way to finish the meal. I'll definitely be going back!

Never disappoints. Great value and 2-for-1 in Entertainment Book.
Gina
First time, staff were incredibly polite and my burrito was delicious. Worth the price :3 very tasty beef.
Kira Pengelly
My partner and I wanted a quick meal before a show but didn't realise how quick and tacky this place was until<br/>It was too late . It's fast and cheap - junk food !!!! Not real Mexican
Vjohns2011
Delicious, pretty good and cheap burritos are awesome
Tim Greay
Very average, tables were dirty and food looked highly processed. Menu was confusing and we ended up ordering far to much food, the staff did not offer any advice. It would proberbly have been more tolerable if we had not spent so much on food we did not need! They also advertise beer etc and do not have a license. Better options around!

For someone eho does not like mexican food very much, i loved it. Really good fresh filing food. Cheap for what ya get. Really awsome love it!
Peter W
Its ok ..... I have eaten there a few times and the burritos and grande melts are ok. The quesadilla i got was very sloppy though. The amount of ingredients seems to vary - sometimes you get a lot .. sometimes the serving are a tad miserly. Still not really sure how i feel about the food - I've had worse, then again i've had a lot better.<br/><br/>Didn't like their Nacho chips which are too thin & crispy for my liking.<br/><br/>Their donuts are great but a bit pricey ..
Antonio
Nachos and churros. Perfect after the movies
Mztiff
Quick and easy lunch. This place has a similar style to Subway where they make your order right in front of you. The menu may look daunting at first but the staff are very friendly and are happy to help.<br/><br/>The burritos I find a bit on the heavy side but I am sucker for the Grande Melt (essentially a burrito minus rice and toasted for a crispy outer layer). I am absolutely in love with their extra hot hot sauce which comes on the table for an extra kick! <br/><br/>Their churros are deliciously addictive too with extra cinnamon sugar coating.
The Food Rat
Not helpfull. I have a few food alleriges rang to see if I could eat there. Took me 3 trys to finally get answers told them what I couldnt eat they said there was items on there menu I could eat. Orgnised to meet people there when got there found all items had things I couldnt eat. Went and asked manager and he was very rude and unhelpful. Dont know what food tastes like thou staff were bloddy usless. Thank god for grilld burgers.

Great food. I've been to Mad Mex on many occasions and without fail it's been fantastic. I've had the nachos, burritos and grande melt countless times and loved them every time. Friendly staff, good value and great location!

Great Tacos. Loved the tacos, been there twice this week, and its only Tuesday. As usual, all crunchy tacos are messy, but taste great. Choice of topping, including steak as opposed to mince, is lovely.
Lord Philip Zornes
Awesome Tacos. Best place for reasonably priced Tacos... glad they finally made it to the "wild wild west!"
Jeff Finch
Being a long term Texas resident, now lucky to live in Australia, Mad Mex brings to life the great authentic taste of tacos. Goodonya Mad Mex :-)

Since moving to Perth from Melbourne we have been searching for reasonably priced AND good tasting Mexican Food. <br/><br/>MadMex is the "SubWay" of fast and tasty Mexicano food <br/><br/>The Subi location is just like the Chapel Street location in layout. Easy to navigate... AND. the free refills on the sodas are a nice "American" touch. <br/><br/>Two of us get fed with 3 Tacos each, a burrito and 2 drinks and be out the door for around $45. A bit pricier than Melbourne (it would be $35 there, but we are used to the higher food tabs here in Perth ... So we take it in stride. <br/><br/>Be sure take get the frequent diner card, 10 mains and you get one free!
Lisainperth
Love it!. Have been to Mad Mex a few times now and always have a good feed there. This is nothing fancy or complicated, just fresh, quick and tasty Baja Mexican food-not Tex Mex, not mainland Mexican or any other variation of Mexican. The staff has been friendly and helpful each time I have been there so no complaints.
Sarah Banks
I HATE THIS STORE!!!!!. Last saturday I came to Mad Mex for lunch. GROSS!! EVERYTHING! EW! NEVER AGAIN!!!!! Please get your store in order!
Naila
Good cheap eat without the fast food heaviness. Great to find an alternative to burgers within that $10-15 price bracket in the Subiaco area. It's pretty fresh, lots of choice, quick and friendly. It definitely didn't have that fast food heaviness in your stomach. I'd go back for sure.
Grimm
Fair attempt. Customer service was good. Food wasnt bland or super greasy. I would go back if I was in the area.
Joseph Anthony
This is a tough one. I am not a huge fan of Mexican at the best of times, it always seems to be sloppy and expensive junk food. Mad Mex to me feels like the equivalent of a Mexican Subway. Highly processed food made how you want it under the guise of healthy food. For somereason it has you wanting more. Not a location for a first date or business lunch, but a good quick feed that is very reasonably priced. Would I go again, yes, regularly no.
Fussy Eater
Last minute dinner. Went for dinner on a Saturday night. Got there just before the rush, so got a table fine. A bout 5 minutes later there was a line out the door. <br/>Tables filled with teenagers, i would say thats due o the cheap prices.<br/>Good concept of picking your ingredients, however it was quite basic. Had a burrito with beef. Also had the chips with cheese.(Which were just corn chips)The mexican soda was lovely.<br/>Overall the food felt like glorified takeaway and left me feeling like id eaten a tonne of greasy food.<br/>Dont love it, dont hate it. Would i go back? Perhaps for a quick lunch sometime
Miss Piggy
The best mexican in perth at a good price. The title says it all :)

Awesome Healthy Fast Food!. Two friends and I had dinner at Mad Mex last night. The staff were friendly, our orders were quickly prepared and served, and the food totally delicious! 5 stars.
Ben
Great Food. I have been a few times and never had a bad feed yet!! keep it up
Tamara
I have been to Mad Mex in Subiaco a lot of times and it is just great! From the location, the service, the decor, to the fabulous food, you can't fault it. So friendly and so yummy!!

Great Food!. Finally!! It is so expensive to eat out in Subiaco usually and there is nowhere you can go with kids. This place is so kids friendly and you don't have to get all dressed up to go there either. I love the Mexican funky music & mexican wrestlers on the walls!<br/>My son loved it and it's so much healthier for him than other fast food KFC or McDonald. <br/>We loved the vibe and that it's family friendly :)

Worst Mexican Food. I am a big fan of Mexican food . Have lived in Mexico for 10 years. I was excited when Mad Mex announced it is opening in Subiaco, and went there last week. Sadly the food was cold , tasteless and staff were unfriendly. When I spoke to a friend about my experience there , I found out that most of the glowing reviews were written by the owners fiancée , brother in law( supervisor at MM) and family members. Very disappointing
Candice
Very small portions for what you pay - considering there is a Mexican place 5 mins walk away - there were no smiles and food wasn't very fulfilling. Ok for a small afternoon meal.
Chiipmunk
Almost everything is laced with coriander!
PerthGuy
Where's the changerooms?. Might want to bring a change of clothes with you when visiting this place. Guaranteed to decorate your clothes with burrito. With all burrito fillings floating in liquid, they seriously need to invest in something along the lines of a chinoise before they inundate your burrito with juice. The cheese filling drops the warmth of your burrito down to glacial temperatures, so would be good if they could heat it up and those mexican beans need to be thoroughly rinsed so you don't submerge yourself in a sandy burrito.<br/><br/>The crankin beats do assist in alluring customers into this joint when strolling down Hay St, but unfortunately wasn't enough to get onto my weekly lunch menu.<br/><br/>Edit 02/12/2012<br/>Contrary to my review above, I've been smashing Mad Mex on a weekly basis for the past couple of months as I finally found a meal that doesn't need a raincheck for drycleaning. The Quesadilla is tops.

Loved It. Finally. Mexican is all the craze in Perth at the moment so I was sceptical when I heard a friend rave about Mad Mex. But plesantly suprised. Really really authentic mexican food...fresh ingredients, fast friendly service and really great value for money. Well done...I'll be back! David

I ordered the pork soft taco... It was inedible!!
Eva
Less than average. The churros are fantastic. The mains are less than average but expensive for what it is. They don't really put alot of meat but heaps of all the extra stuff so it looks like you're getting a lot. good service and fast. Overall, I would rather go to Zambreros in Leederville.
Mysy
Appalling service. Was my first time there last night. Absolutely disgusted by the customer service. First of all, we had to wait in the queue for a good 15 minutes (mind you there were 4 staff rostered and just 1 customer before us). Then, when it got to my turn, they ran out of capsicums and onions. The staff who served me kept "digging" the clearly empty container??? And then moved on to put other toppings. Was not only I mentioned that I would like more capsicum and onion did she make an attempt to direct her colleague to get more! Bearing in mind, there wasn't much on my wrap to begin with. Then, another colleague appeared from somewhere and started serving the customer after us instead of my partner. HELLO?!!! Have we not waited long enough? To top that off, the guy serving the customer after us was giving generous amount of meat for the burrito whereas the girl serving us, gave such a tiny portion even though we asked for regular. And not to mention we realise after that, she CHARGED us $2 extra for asking her to put more meat on. That's not all: The icing on the cake: we also ordered tacos with cheese - how was it served? Thrown down at the counter! What's worst, at that point, I was really pissed and so I stared at her and instead of an apology, you get a death stare back from the staff!!! What kind of customer service is this? Note as well: when we entered the store, the vibe and atmosphere was so flat. If staff are not happy to be working there, please don't! TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED with my dining experience. Doesn't matter if the food is good, if customer service is bad, you've just lost another potential regular!!!!! Hope other people will not experience what we did.
John Rocke
Food was quick and filling. Quite tasty actually but there is better mexican around. Prices are reasonable though so big pluses. Will be making a return visit :)
Subi Foodies
Great food, served quickly even when you have to queue out the door. Offers good value for money.
Simon Ingleson
Think toasted burrito. Omg love it!!
Michael
❤ talk about your no-nonsense, get in and grab it, healthy, yummy Mex! I'm liking the HELL out of this place, will be liking it some more, sometime soon...
Kevin
Think of this as Mexican subway. Line up, pick your bread (read:taco, burrito, tray, toasted); filling (chicken, steak or pork of various flavours) and add sauce, cheese and topping!<br/><br/>Pleasantly spicy, busy and hip. Nachos deserve to be toasted but otherwise the burrito are popular!
Caity Clifton
First time at Mad Max tonight. Mexican fast food! Cheap and so quick. I love that they have gluten free options very clearly outlined. Really good black beans and salsa was fresh and tangy. They need to keep the food hotter! Nice but cold :( will be going back but asking them to zap the food. Unmelted cheese on the nachos was not very nice.
Joel Springer
Great mexican!!!!. Definitely the best mexican food to dine at. coming from California the food here is amazing. my favorite meal is the Grande melt with the pork.
Jess
YUM. If you like Mexican then you have to go to Mad Mex. Great fresh food - fast. All the ingredients are tasty and extremely fresh. The service is great, with friendly staff and management. I eat here at least once a week, simply because it tastes great and is healthy.<br/>Heaps to choose from - healthy to indulgent! For a sweet treat try to Churros!!<br/>Definitely recommend.
Benj
Don't be the last one to try Mad Mex - Subi. Having worked for may years in a Mexican Resturant, I would have to say and without contemplation, Mad Mex in Subi is by far the best and authentic Mexican food in Perth.<br/><br/>The foundation to any Mexican food is the taste and texture of the meat. Difficult to put into words how fantastic and true to the expected flavours you would find locally in Mexico.<br/><br/>Defninately worth trying and exploring all the different combinations that are possible. Would be very hard to end up at the usual habit forming mono-selection we all end up doing at our other food brands we all frequent.<br/><br/>Cant wait to wash it all down with a Corona..
Gina W.
Fab service, great food. I've been back a few times since this place opened and can honestly say it's brilliant value for money, tasty food (the quesadillas and nachos are my personal faves) and friendly, fast service. Highly recommended.
Juan Aguitar
Awesome. About time someone came up with something like this! Fast, friendly and reasonably priced mexican. The food is fresh (not like your usual mexican, which is often sloppy and drenched in melted cheese), the flavours are bold (both the mild and medium salsas i tried were delicious), there are a great range of varied menu options to try… i'd have to try pretty hard to find any real faults with this place. Even the vibe inside is great, the decorations are fresh and inviting and any place that plays Santana, Ben Harper and Red Hot Chilli Peppers all in a row is A-ok in my book.<br/><br/>I had the burrito and my wife and I shared the nachos and a chicken quesadilla. Burrito was really packed with fillings, I could easily have had the burrito on it's own and been satisfied. Having said that, i couldn't say no to the gigantic nachos we were served up. The quesadilla was crispy and satisfying, and I liked the range of dipping sauces that were offered along with it.<br/><br/>I've seen massive lines in there a couple of times driving past and it's easy to see why. If you're looking for a quick, affordable meal that is on the healthier side (at least compared to the KFC and Hungry Jacks across the street) and your in the Subiaco area, you really can't go past Mad Mex
Sharon Graham
Really tasty fast food. Favourite would be the tasty burrito with tender beef and hot sauce. The nachos are different to the usual ones but fresh and tasty. The service is fast, friendly and efficient. Love the fit out too. This is a much needed addition to the Subi food scene which is lacking variety.
Simone
FINALLY!. OMG well done Mad Mex. Is 4 times in a week count as addition?! Really amazing food thats healthy, fun, tasty and affordable. Staff were excellent. Plus love the cool fit out, esp the Corona chandeliers!!
Liam Trolio
Amazing Experience. After dining and having absolutely delicious meal at Mad Mex, I have nothing but praise for the restaurant. I was served by a Young Irish guy, who was nothing but helpful in helping my family make the right decision, and he did it all with such a friendly attitude and always had a smile on his face. After ordering we were delighted at the fast service and the overall taste of the food. Very impressed and can't wait to come back again! Great work Mad Mex!
Bert Mondello
Perfect fast and healthy meal at awesome prices. The burritos are unbelievable!! By far the best Mexican in Perth
Keith English
Great food and fantastic atmosphere. Have eaten here a few times now and food is fresh and healthy as well
Alitsiya
The best food ever!!! Best customer service!! Willl come back for sure again!!!...thank you!

Value exceeds price. The lamb on my nachos was so tender and they gave me plenty of it! Staff were well organised and happy - nothing like service with a smile to finish off a dining experience! Seems like so many places have forgotten how important that is! Definitely heading back!!!

Nothing like eating a meal under the threat of death. Well if it was going to be my last meal, at least it was a good one.  A few weeks ago I was on my way to a meeting in Subiaco and dropped into Mad Mex for a quick taco. I hadn’t been there before, so was fascinated by the wrestling paraphernalia and imagery dotted around the room.   When I arrived it was quite busy and the only seat left was at the table with one of the most interesting chandeliers I’ve seen in a while.   In my youth I once lived in a house that had paint tins lights. We’d emptied the paint tins, stabbed them a few times with a screwdriver (as you do) then painted them a dark colour on the outside. The lighting effect was interesting to say the least, but that was nothing compared to the Corona inspired light of death hanging above me.

Mad Mex is a Mexican “fast food” chain that arrived from the East coast. While I’m personally not generally a big fan of Mexican food I thought I’d give it a go and see what all the hype is. The menu system is pretty typical “production line” food, Pick your “Mad Mex Style”, then your filling then add the salsa. And then you got your meal. I would liken this to Subway style of counter service. The interior decor looks like any other Mad Mex store, with a Mexican theme to it. Identical to the store I walked pass during one of my visits to Melbourne. Jarritos soda was pretty tasty. As for the food, it had the typical Mexican flavours and ingredients, but served fast. The servings were large for two people but the flavours were quite repetitive after a while, which doesn’t entice you to want more. Overall, if you want a quick bite and food on the run it’s n

A bit is happening in the food arena of Subiaco, a few new places have or are in the midst of opening their doors. Mad Mex has recently opened on Hay street next to Kebabways. It is fully 'decked' out with corona chandeliers and plenty of seating outside. I haven't dined in yet however ordered a Nachos ($11.90) to go the other night. Pretty tasty for fast food and if you want it to be chilli, they will make it Chilli (one for my Malaysian friends). Max Mex is similar to Subway in some respect as you go through the process of choosing the toppings with the attendant before reaching the counter to pay. All the ingredients are on display for your selection. I think they will be serving tequila and slushie cocktails in the near future, there is a massive sign saying coming soon.
