Delicious food and very kind and attentive staff. Very happy to have found this little tucked away sanctuary of delicious food that is always fresh and home made. Even the sauces are genuinely healthy/natural made and don't taste like they're out of a bottle filled with chemicals. Would highly recommend anyone that likes Japanese to visit.
Finally got to try this for Mother’s Day lunch today and it has really nice atmosphere and friendly staff! Food was great in flavours, quality and well priced.
We had the nanban chicken, chicken curry, sashimi rice bowl and ramen. Everything was yummy!
Will definitely come back to try other menu items.
I have been here a few times already and never disappointed. Nice atmosphere and delicious food.
beautiful refreshing and tasty food a great healthy option for the area however the value for money is a lot less here than other less healthy options.
Cute little restaurant in the centre of pine lands shopping centre. Made a booking for 3. Had a date night with my daughters. They ordered the usual salmon and avo sushi and tuna. They quickly demolished it. I ordered the chicken curry and the nanban chicken. This was also soon demolished by the kids. The service was really good. They would have received a 5 star if we could have paid at the end. Little annoying but still really good food and service.
Wandering around Pinelands Plaza, Phuong Tran suggests we come in here for a Japanese lunch. This restaurant is Japanese owned and operated. Cheerfully greeted on arrival, we peruse the Menu then place our lunch order at the counter. Lunch is served in 10 minutes.
*Kabayaki Eel Bento ($19.80) is nicely presented with a generous serving of delicious Grilled Eel, Rice, fresh Salad, Salmon & Avo Sushi, lukewarm Miso Soup & Fresh Fruit.
*Salmon, Avocado & Cucumber Roll ($11.80) is freshly prepared and tasty.
*Karaage Chicken is today’s Special. Spend $20 and one can have a plate of Japanese Fried Chicken for $1. Served piping hot, it is a bargain!
We enjoy our lunch here. Thank you Kokoro Kitchen. And Sayonara!
Nice quiet place to have lunch or dinner. The staff are friendly, we enjoyed the bento meals, the udon, the ramen and the agedashi tofu was really nice. One of the best authentic japanese restaurants. Big thumbs up!
Decently-priced with service from authentically Japanese service staff and chefs. We had the mackerel and chicken teriyaki set meals - both delicious and promptly served!
The lunch special at this Japanese restaurant is delicious - only $9.90 from 11:30am-2:30pm on weekdays. It has sweet and sour chicken with an egg tartare on rice with some coleslaw and also comes with miso soup. The bowl is very filling and very worth the price. We also ordered the chicken karaage set meal - the kaarage is one of the best i’ve tried in Brisbane. The set meals are reasonably priced and come with an assortment of vegetables, sushi & miso soup.
A boutique restaurant, with a very comfortable dining area, and more importantly without a noisy crowd inside like some other restaurants as in the same shopping centre. Food is excellent for the reasonable prices. The salmon sashimi is fresh. Staff (I think Japanese) is always smiling, very friendly, speaks good English and looks after the customers well. Highly recommended.
I made a visit to this place when it first opened a while back. As I grew up eating japanese food I was super excited to have this Japanese restaurant open in Pinelands shopping centre.
Once I entered the restaurant i was welcomed with smile. Decor is somewhat cheap, or in another word.. Casual, which I did not mind.
We ordered chicken nanban don, salmon sashimi and grilled salmon bento set.
Taste was authentic, chicken was juicy and tartar sauce was delicious. Grilled salmon was good.
Overall its above average and you can tell chef take a pride in what they serve which you can appreciate by looking into details. I think this place has great potential to get better and better over time and am excited to try out again in near future.
I think they have big portion and the price is reasonable. Although the decoration should be more attractive, but the taste is perfect. Service is good too. Very welcoming staff.
We just came here by accident. We were supposed to try a nearby dessert place but decided yo have lunch first and my friend wants a japanese restaurant. I think we chose the right restaurant because this one is one of the authentic yet cheap japanese restaurant I've been to. I ordered the chicken karaage rive bowl. The actual chicken is soft and juicy while the exterior breading is crispy. It comes with a tasty miso soup on the side. My friend ordered pork tonkatsu with a side salad. The pork is not too greasy and quite tasty. The breading is cridpy and when the pork is dipped in the herb-based sauce, it just adds a zesty herb taste on it (huge fan here!). The salad has a sesame oil based dressing which gives the salad a nutty taste which compliments the fat from the pork. The food was really good. I loved the quick service and the staff being approchable.
Absolutely delicious! The perfectly sumptuous and healthy hot pot to have for dinner during winter. Love everything in it; salmon, enoki mushrooms, cabbage, spinach, tofu, mussels, crab sticks and the wonderful and beautiful miso broth that brought it all home. We also adore the cozy dining ambiance the restaurant had, it had this authentic Japanese feel to it. So low key, so humble and so comforting. ❤️ Staff was friendly and polite. Would definitely return soon and I recommend everyone to visit and try the food. Authentic Japanese meals that’s worth every penny! 🤤🥰
The food here is authentic and fabulous. Tastes not only good but the attention to detail is amazing and I love their presentation. The Japanese staff is super polite and friendly and very hardworking managing the entire shop floor on her own. There are occasional promotions and you're able to pre-order your meal online through their website. Takeaway is also available and they do get crowded during weekends. Highly recommended for lunches and dinners.
Kokoro is a nice surprise when going for japanese serendiputously. My friends and I all ordered different meal sets with agedashi tofu, chicken nanban, miso salmon, sushi, and curry.
The price point is well worth it for japanese curry this good, i found myself polishing curry off my plate!
Although trying to get things amended or altered is a bit of a hassle. A friend had an almost rude response once and I've had lukewarm miso soup come back scalding..
Had a great dinner here. The mixed rice bowl was delicious and not too expensive. The green tea brulee was nice but very small.
Set meals are really nice, and large portions for one! Hope they could expend more meals specially Oyakodon! They did perfect Tonkatsu!
