If you're after average quality food and an ambience of clanging cutlery and screaming babies this is the place for you. Service was below average the first night we came 30 mins before close and they refused to serve anything but takeaway at that time. When we came the next night we waited to be seated for over 3 minutes when it wasn't even busy and it didn't look like any tables were being waited on. Staff were mix some were friendly while others looked dishevelled and clearly didn't want to be there I recommend going elsewhere!

Amazing food, big serves,very friendly staff, not pushing to get you in fed and out, big seating areas, quick service, choices of food for kids is good and prices wont break the bank, better alternative than Maccas for breaky. pancakes n berries, eggs n bacon +, very tasty and filling. be back next holiday.

Worst place ever to have breakfast! Cannot even comprehend how bad it is. Sausage is the cheapest quality type, overcooked hard as a rock. Hash brown is completely tasteless and zero seasoning. Not to mention hash brown is overcooked too. Warning: DO NOT ever eat here. You will regret 100%! They also completely forgotten our beverage order!

Ordered The Ultimate and Passionfruit Mocktail. Good experience but they should've provided spoons as the sauce was hard to finish with a knife and fork. Not many halal options (vegan options are available) but can be a good restaurant for a sweet tooth. Overall experience 8/10.

Dined in for Boxing Day Breakfast and was very impressed with our waiter Cem. He was very attentive, checked back our order to us, and was friendly and polite. There were only 2 servers on, but we never felt that we were waiting or the service was slow. Prices very reasonable for a public holiday and enjoyed our meals and coffee. Would recommend for a nice casual bite and then wander along the beach and the shops afterwards.

Terrible experience. My partner and I are away on holiday, had been eating all day and came here for some drinks. We ordered a couple drinks off the drinks menu, and a bowl of wedges. . They gave us one drink each, and refused us the other drinks (that were already made) unless we purchased a main meal. This is nowhere in a policy online or on the menu. We were DEAD sober, full from our previous meal and had come for some drinks. We did not purchase a full meal as we had just eaten, but got a bowl of wedges to share. This was so disappointing, we had been talking about coming here all day due to the great food and drink prices. They were forcing us to buy a main meal if we wanted other drinks. We were going to have 2 drinks each over 2 hours and arrived sober for a nice date night. Buzz kill

A great meal was had by all. We had a steak. It was well cooked and tasted great. The pancakes were delicious 😋

Went with my family twice while we were staying at the Coast, both times the staff was friendly and service was efficient. The food was great, will go back again!

Went there tonight for our last night of holidays. Earlier in the evening we had tried another pancake place in Surfers Paradise, and after being seated didn't see a waiter for so long we left. Found our way to Pancakes on the Rocks, within minutes of being seated we had more than 1 waiter come to serve us, and the service continued to be excellent all evening with all 3 servers we interacted with. Food was also great. Thanks for a great last night in Surfers!

Went here and got the nutella pancakes. They came without the nutella between the pancakes as pictured both on facebook and your menu! Could hardly taste the tiny drizzle amount on top and tasted more like plain ice-cream and pancakes. I tried to give them the benefit of the doubt and contacted directly through email and received a generic response back not at all responding to anything specific. Clearly they get a few complaints to have such a generic email ready to go. The waitress however was lovely! Probably the only good thing about the visit.

Great value!! Pancakes were yummy, as was everything else, and drinks were such reasonable prices!! Had been to them at Miami but the new location is fabulous, and the menu is even better now! Will definitely visit again! 💙

The food was awesome and the service was great, the waiter even made it more enjoyable by making everyone laugh. He even got us to prank the Manager to see what she would do. Would go back there again any day for some great food and atmosphere.

Asked for a large coffee.....delivered to us at the table in a take away cup and then they wanted to charge us for the take away cup!! What a joke!!

Kids love this place, a good selection of desserts and kids meal, reasonably priced and generous portions

I would NEVER recommend to anyone who wish to have nice foods with good service. The staffs at the cashier were very poor knowledge, they don’t know what discount vouchers have published by your restaurant. They don’t have responsibility for their actions. They make customers embarrassed. Pancakes were too sweet, we couldn’t eat more than half of it.

Wait was a bit longer than expected but not too bad. Staff were very friendly and overall decent sized portions for the price. Coffee was fantastic, will be back.

The restaurant was very busy so it took a little while to be seated, and service overall was a little disjointed that day with different wait staff checking to see if we’d ordered. However, everyone was very friendly and helpful. After s slow start, our pancakes were brought out fairly quickly.

The decor was open and roomy. The staff were accommodating but didn’t listen very well to the orders. The mains was not as good as we had come to expect - the desserts though were still great!

As a result the texture of these were not enjoyable. These were not the light and fluffy pancakes that we expected. Talked into coming to this place, went for the seafood crepes with salad, suprised as the crepes were pretty good, nice white wine sauce with bits of seafood and fish within though the side salad was tiny. Friends enjoyed the mexican potato pancakes and the mexicana crepes. Not really my type of establishment as food is very one dimensional but done simple, non offensive and filled the spot. Table cleared even though one of us was still eating, service friendly.

Super disappointing! The food was soo tasteless. The pancakes were floury and had no taste. The hash brown was home made - and not a single bit of salt or flavor. Even the Berries on the pancakes were flavorless. Only thing that was good was the hot chocolate & the portions.. we won’t be returning. McDonald breakfast is better!

I went for dessert. I choose the "Coco Berry" and swap the pancakes to crepes. The crepes just tasted like flour and the chocolate on top was very weird, didn't taste good at all. The only sweet thing on the plate was the vanilla ice cream. So disappointing.

I ordered a pancake with ice cream and it was perfect. It was warm and fluffy, just the way I like it. Its not pretty cheap too I highly recommend this place.

Seriously the worst meal I have ever had. <br/><br/>We ordered takeaway. They forgot to include cutlery, which I had to go back to get after waiting over 25mins for the meal. <br/><br/>The presentation was as unappealing as the taste. <br/><br/>Two rubbery tasteless pancakes dumped on top of over-cooked bacon, an undercooked egg, warmed rotten banana, and warmed tinned pineapple. <br/><br/>A small scoop of ice cream was supplied in a container. Upon eating the third spoonful I wondered where the butter taste came from. They had put half a scoop of ice cream with half a scoop of butter in the container. They were the same colour. The mouthful of butter just topped off an already disgusting meal. Upon calling the Manager I was informed they ‘usually explain to their customers which is ice cream and which is butter’.... Pretty much sums it up...<br/><br/>$50 straight in the bin after three mouthfuls<br/><br/>....seriously, the whole meal’s one saving grace was the warmed tinned pineapple ... I suggest you just order that if you go here... 🤢

What a disappointment, pancakes were disgusting with no flavour, they tasted like they came out of an automated machine. The stewed apples were undercooked and crunchy. The ‘apple crumble’ was just broken up biscuits. The takeaway didn’t include cutlery which we had to go back for. It took 25 minutes to get the food. The chai latte was awful and full of syrup. The ice cream which came in a seperate seperate container was full of chewy bits of ice. Worst pancakes I have ever eaten.

I had a craving for pancakes so we found this place and thought we'd give it a go, as another well known pancake shop we tried going to had already closed - it wasn't even 9pm! We were pleasantly surprised by Pancakes on the Rocks - I had the Devils Delight and my husband had the Bananarama and a hot chocolate, the pancakes were delicious and a very generous serve, and our waitress was super friendly. Highly recommended.

Someone very special and cute wanted to go here even tho I wasn't keen. I went in with low expectations. The inside was neat and tidy and not too busy considering it was 8am on Saturday. We had a savory pancake (maple syrup, sausages, scrambled eggs) and the raspberry crepes. The crepes were very yummy ! The savory pancake was a bit dry but alright. Coffee was better than I was expecting. Thanks Pancake on the Rocks 💝

They're spiral and yummier than before. A must try here.

A nice place to have a weekend brunch with friends and family. The pancake stacks were generous servings and the staff members were very friendly!!!

During my university years I had a delicious love affair. Pancakes on the Rocks had just opened and, given any occasion, my sister and I would go there to indulge. In the days of Easy Rider, pancakes were all the rage, and the Rocks’ venue was the place to go!. Housed in a century old warehouse, the former hangout of wharfies, gangs and the working class, it was the time when the whole Rocks area was in undergoing gentrification into an arts/bar scene...

Service was friendly and efficient. Restaurant was half full on Sat morning and meals came or in about 15 minutes. Tip for young players: the black forest pancakes are very rich. I have a good appetite and struggled to get though them. Only for serious sweet tooth!

2.5/5 - it was passable. 😳 <br/><br/>The best thing here was the caramel milkshake. My partner had a strawberry cocktail he liked. Little one s chocolate milk which was ok. <br/><br/>The chicken ham crepe was really weird and powdery. Gelatinous texture on the sauce. Tandoori pizza was like a McCain frozen pizza. Hmm. <br/><br/>Service was hard to get. Lots of seating so if your desperate this is your place if you can't get in anywhere upstairs. But maybe the pancakes are the winner which we didn't try.

Nice coffee, yummy pancakes. Well priced. Provided colouring in for kids. Service was a bit slow. We were the only table in so expected much faster and kids meals came last.

Went here for breakfast after a night out. Perfect end to a good weekend, first time I have been here but probably the best pancakes I have ever had.<br/><br/>The staff were a bit unprofessional I guess, the guy tried taking our order from memory without a pen and paper, I knew instantly he would mess the order up or forget but I don't really care.<br/><br/>I ordered the banana pancakes with a request for macadamia nut pancakes, my girlfriend got the chocolate pancakes I think and my mate ordered the pancakes with an egg or bacon on them. And coffee of course.<br/><br/>Like mentioned previous the macadamia nut pancakes were incredible highly recommend, coffee was great and the side of bacon we ordered was perfectly cooked. Great portions and nice food with friendly service. If I lived in Gold Coast I would come here very often but I see no reason this doesnt deserver a 5/5 even with the waiter forgetting our order.

Not a huge pancakes fan myself, but I did enjoy it here and can say they serve some decent pancakes. Tried the one with scrambled eggs. I didn't have much seasoning on my mine, however that can be adjusted. Was alright.

We ordered Macademia Madness and Pork Ribs. The waitress was very friendly but the service was pretty slow. We waited for more than 20 minutes for the dishes to be served (we were the only customers!). The ribs were so-so but the portion was generous. The pancakes were still as buttery and soft as usual.

Went in for breakfast this morning. We order 3 meals- all were terrible. My potato pancake was stone cold- they didn't charge me for this meal. Hash brown is $5 and is more like grated potato- that's it. The chocolate pancake was so rich- it wasn't touched. I wouldn't be going back and would recommend trying another place for breakfast cos it's not worth the money!

Food was really nice pancakes fluffy and butter melted right on. However service was very bad didn't get our drinks till we had almost finished meals. Have had pretty bad service all over the area though

Exactly what you would expect from this type of restaurant. The menu was large, the food was ok and staff were helpful. The coffee was really good as well. Recommended for families.
