Had breakfast there ages ago and to this day it is one of the best breakfasts I have ever had. Keep on keeping on.
Dangerous place for any sugar reduced dieters..surrounded by superb gardens....only took about 50 photos....:)
Caught up with a friend for coffee and a passionfruit tart at the Oaks Cafe. I’ve been to this garden centre a few times but never sat down and taken it all in. Quite a lovely setting in the middle of the nursery. My Almond latte was creamy and strong and the passionfruit tart had a serious citrus tart zing it. An enjoyable sunny venue.

4.1. Gorgeous location for a really tasty lunch. This cafe is located inside the Acorn Nursery. The nursery is full of superb plants and lovely gifts. It really is a very agreeable place. The cafe is a beauty. Fortunately, it has lots of seating because it’s very popular particularly on a pleasant Friday in spring. There’s a great choice of food at good prices. Even though it was very busy our food came very quickly. Two of our party had the potato pancake with smoked salmon which we thoroughly enjoyed. Another one of our party had ribbon sandwiches - chicken Caesar - which they liked immensely too. We then then an excellent pistachio and lime meringue and a French vanilla slice. Both really delivered on flavour. We finished with a pot of tea and hot chocolate. The only weird thing about the cafe is that they don’t have a number system. That heads to servers wandering the cafe trying to find the right table to deliver things to. Otherwise, this is a very good cafe. We loved it and would return anytime.
I just love this cafe! It is super casual and located within acorn nursery but the food is just delicious and a huge range to choose from.
The location, well you are surrounded by the beautiful acorn nursery; so lots of lush greenery and pretty flowers and water features to look at through the cafe’s glass doors and walls.
Service is super casual, you order and pay at the counter and the food is brought to your table, always in a reasonable time and with efficient smiling staff.
The food is beautiful, the produce is well chosen and always fresh. The servings are huge. So is the variety: There is the menu, plus a huge specials board with a long list of lunches and then the display cabinet with yummy looking cakes and pastries.
Pop in for breakfast: Think big breaky, dr Marty’s crumpets, waffles, porridge and more
Pop in for lunch: lasagne, bureks, finger sandwiches, burgers
Or for snacks : scones, cakes, savoury and sweet muffins,
Up there coffee also.
Casual, relaxed, great food and atmosphere.
The Oaks Cafe is located within Acorn Nursery. The nursery is quite beautiful - there are gorgeous floral scents wafting in the breeze, bees are buzzing around, and there's the melodic squawks of happy birds.
In addition to the cafe, the nursery also has a gift shop (with homewares, clothing, jewellery and knick knacks) and a cute playground for little ones.
The food is simple and tasty and just well-made. There's a home-style cooking feel to it. The Lawyer chose the beef lasagne. He was quite pleased with it. I had a taste and agreed with him that the beef bolognese was deep in flavour and was a good amount of creamy bechamel sauce.
Been here last april 2017 for 3 times.. and the food is so delicious. I've tried the panini and the sandwich. My husband loves the panini a lot.
The ambience is good and cozy, too.
Housed within the Acorn Nursery in Surrey Hills, The Oaks Cafe is a warm and inviting space with views of luscious flora. . In line with its social setting, the café serves honest and delicious food with an amazing array of options available to suit most. . We loved tasting our way through their menu.
Lovely place to sit outside. Good range of cakes and drinks. Latte was good. Loved their hot chips - crispy and delicious with herb salt.
Chocolate milkshake was made with chocolate syrup and a bit too creamy. Same for the iced chocolate - you have to scrape all the chocolate off the side and mix it to get any chocolate flavour.
Egg soldiers were disappointing. Eggs not cut and toast not even buttered. They make you work for it when you are paying $11.5. Eggs were overcooked ("soft boiled") and when you ask for butter, it's just a single Western Star serve but you need more since they give you 2 slices of toast.
I've been here during the week and the food selection seemed to be lacking. Went back on the weekend though and the selection of yummy treats was great. Coffee is good and the service is extremely fast. Prices are reasonable considering the location. There's a little play table for the kids, a gift shop for mum and landscaping inspiration for dad.
The decor could do with an update but we'll definitely be back. Best cafe chips we've ever had and the potato pancake with smoked salmon was delish!
My dining companion decided to have the ‘Panini – roast beef, sweet mustard pickle, aioli, avocado, tomato, spinach and tasty cheese ($12.95)’. The beef was so tender it fell apart in your mouth and was enhanced by the other delicious fillings.
Oaks Cafe is a cute, dated little cafeteria like Cafe tucked inside The Acorn Nursery on Canterbury Road. There is a little decking so you can sit outside amongst the flowers of the nursery which is nice on a sunny day. Oaks is the perfect place for a light lunch, especially if your looking for somewhere quiet to have little sit down. The staff are friendly, but service can be a tad slow. There is a great variety of drinks on the menu, but quite a bit less of a choice on the food menu. We have only ever had Chicken Ribbon Sandwiches but they are amazing, fresh, delicious and perfect combination- chicken, almonds, spring onions and mayo.
TIP: Do come in to have a Hot Chocolate or Smoothie, it is really relaxing sitting and sipping outside on the decking. Don't forget to order the Chicken Ribbon Sandwiches- our favourite!
Lovely cafe inside the Acorn Nursery. I always find the food here delicious and well presented. I suspect because it's inside the nursery other reviewers think it's pricey, however there are options at many prices, and it's absolutely worth checking the cabinet for pies and specials.
On a really hot summer day this special berry iced tea was really appreciated. Also the staff were very attentive to Covid protocols which was wonderful.
Good ambience and service. Very nice food and tasty. Bit pricey for the quantity offered.
Dining among the flowers is perfect! The service is fast, the product is large enough, and the taste is good!
Is an excellent Cafe, in delightful surrounds, with very friendly, courteous and quick to serve/assist staff. And great coffee too!
Well worth visiting - and make time to wander around the surrounding nursery and shop too. Just excellent!
Great selection of eats..seating overlooking the nursery..sit in the sun or shade..hardest decision is what to eat!
