Stopped by for a quick drink and catch up. Staff were lovely, cheese platter was delicious and the wine was very, very good. Great spot.

If you live in the proximity of Surrey Hills, there is no ‘local pub’ to enjoy a quiet drink because over 100 years ago it was designated ‘dry’ by our founding fathers.
So for us locals The Hills is like a little oasis that has sprung up in a previously ‘alcohol free’ zone. It has a great choice of quality wines, normal and craft beer on tap and a limited but appropriate food menu.

Faultless! After a day of cycling through awful and ugly Box Hill to get to this delightful place, it was like exiting hell and entering heaven. Lovely top-notch nosh and terrific beers on tap. Perfect out the back on a chilly Sunday afternoon near the fire.

A local for the locals. And I'm muscling in on the action. The perfect place for a quiet one or a relaxed date. Chilled, unpretentious. A mad selection of drops by the glass where there's something for all tastes or bottles for the more long stayers and enough of a menu to keep you there for just one more.
Good location near Surry hill train station , plenty of parking space, visited twice, easy to get table, wide wine list , I only tired snacks , was average. Good place to hang out with friend in the area
Found this place through the app, then realised it was a location friends had raved about. I went with a group, super easy Tuesday night out. Loved the nuanced humour with Julie Andrews on the wall from a scene out of Sound of Music. Food was great, I shared a pizza along with croquets, dips & a glass of the Jurassic wine. Staff came around and called last food orders and 40 minutes later last drink orders which did make it feel like your local or a scene out of Cheers. Will definitely go again, just a bit earlier to give more time to enjoy the fire down the back.
Second attempt to try out The Hills we made it past the front door 👏 6.30pm Saturday night and it was still pumping! It was a little hard to pinpoint a staff member to ask re a table, when we did there was only standing room along the wall (very nicely tiled wall)😁 we felt the area along the wall would have been great with stools to seat couples, but it appeared under the bench was being used for storage! The terminal at the bar (where you order food /drink) was the only terminal, a separate drink terminal would maybe speed up the ordering/dispensing process. We were definitely happy with the choice of food and drinks we ordered 😋 The pizzas were super tasty and very speedy! I’m sure if The Hills was ever able to expand you would still have trouble getting past the front door 😁 Kudos to the owners 👏

We caught up with friends tonight at hills wine bar in Surrey Hills. This dimly lit venue had a wall of wine and an cosy fire going on down the back so we grabbed the closest table to it and stayed in for a toasty night.
We started off with beer and I chose Burnley Brewery Pale Ale (I’m such a fan) which was on tap. There was also plenty of interesting canned beer varieties too should you want something a little further afield.
Being a wine bar there was an impressive list and further options available online but we did try and lovey french rose (Grenache Merlot) before switching to a Pinot from Prancing Horse estate in the Mornington Peninsular.
Food wise we had a varied platter with three cheeses, pate, and all the trimming with some tasty olive bread. Our food highlight though was the prawn pizza which was so good with the prawn
and pesto combination that we had to order another.
In terms of atmosphere there was plenty and it was quite loud and echoey with one big group nearby. Good for us but some my prefer a quieter locale.

The Hills is a fantastic local wine bar also offering some delicious food options too.
Their charcuterie platter was divine! A fantastic selection of cured meats, cheese and pickled vegetables. It was the perfect light food accompaniment to the bottle we shared. The staff were attentive and friendly and it’s so easily accessed via Surrey hills station (if you’re getting the train).
Amazing pizza, stand out was magic mushroom. Great wine selection and overall fantastic service.
Nice atmosphere and a good venue for catching up with friends and family.
Another Cool little suburban bar by these guys who did Milton’s in Malvern. Especially for those winter nights. You can sit by the crackling fireplace and have pizzas which are delish while drinking your favourite drop.

Really nice bar, good selection of wines and food.
The chef made a mistake and put cheese on our vegan pizza so we had to wait a little while longer for that but he made up for it with a free drink.
First time visit. Great atmosphere and nice pizza and wine. Great Friday night hang around place.
